Deep in the forest, high in the mountains lived a tribe. They had made their home deep within the forest in a huge series of caves that spread throughout the mountains keeping them isolated and hidden from the rest of the world. So isolated in fact, that they had no idea if there existed any other humans in the whole world, only knowing of their own existence.
Rain fell from the sky in sheets of water, heavy and thick, much like how water fell in a waterfall. But such weather was expected in monsoon season, however it had been worse than normal this year. This was the fourth huge storm within a week, each storm lasting most of the day and flooded the mountains and forest. Each storm was so heavy and hard that no one could leave their caves more than a foot or two as you could barely keep the rain out of their eyes to keep them open to see anything, not that you would have been able to see anything anyways as the water was falling to fast and thick to see through. The rain itself was only part of the problem, the wind, lightning, and thunder didn't make anything any easier.
The small tribe had been prepared for the monsoon season, as they knew it would come every year, they had held up in their caves as always but this year was different. This year, unlike the past years, they could barely leave the caves and had a hard time keeping water from flooding in, which was almost never a problem as the water would usually run down the mountains and never try to flood the caves.
Between the noise from the storm and the noise each small group of people were making in their own caves, no one was able to hear a loud rumbling sound that grew louder with each minute. In fact it wasn't until the ground began to vibrate that anyone even knew anything had been happening. As the vibrating grew stronger the tribe began to hear the rumbling that was the cause of the ground moving beneath their feet. Panic quickly set in and everyone was at a loss at what was happening.
As soon as the rumbling became defining, the tribe knew no more. A mudslide had started at the top of the mountain that the tribe lived on and had quickly picked up speed and strength as it ran down the land, picking up mud, rocks, and uprooting trees. Unfortunately for the small tribe the mudslide crashed down over the caves they lived in destroying and burying the caves and everyone in them. Some caves became crushed under the weight of the mudslide, others became covered in debris and blocked the entrances completely.
All but one. In one of the furthest caves was a pack of two Beta's and four Alpha's who had escaped being killed by the landslide. Their cave had faced off of the mountain overlooking the forest that went for miles. In fact except for the noise and vibrations the landslide made they wouldn't have even known anything had happened at all. Fortunately the storm had kept them in their cave, and safe from danger. Hours later when the storm had died down to a shower they had made their way out to see the destruction.
They screamed and cried in fear when they saw that their home had been completely buried. Panicking they took off through the thick mud that covered the ground they tried to find any caves that might have escaped the landside like theirs but found none. For hours they searched and tried to dig through the mud to find any of the caves but the landslide had completely changed their home making it near impossible to find and get to any of the caves. It wasn't until it began to rain harder again that their head Alpha ordered them to stop searching and return to their own cave that they gave up and left.
Upon returning to their own cave the six men spent many days in a mournful daze. Their parents, friends, everyone that had ever known was gone, and they were now alone.
