Location: Virginia, USA
"Come on, baby, " coaxed the young mother as she held her hand out behind her. "I'm going to leave you here, and your Grandpa can pick you up if you don't come down, " she added as she began to walk further up the grassy incline just a few steps, and she paused again, waiting. She didn't sound upset, though; no it was more as though she was trying not to laugh and be the stern Parent for once. Aiya waited with bated breath; she followed her mom's advice. Her mom swore this exercise in a choice would work in getting her grandbaby to listen better. It was no surprise that she was as stubborn as her father. Her little girl's spirit was something she admired and cherished; it helped her to know that one day she'd be able to take care of herself and stand on her own two feet. Her baby girl would be so much more than she had ever amounted to, but it was too late to change her path now, she liked her life, but sometimes she wondered what things could be like if she had been a stronger person...someone who wasn't afraid.
At the top of the railing where the slide was, held the frame of a short, thin girl with black shoulder-length hair and striking amethyst eyes, a small nose, and an easy smile, she couldn't be older than six years old. A small finger tapped along her chin as she thought over the consequences, if Grandpa showed up, he wouldn't be really happy with her. She also knew the only reason she said Grandpa and not Daddy was because he was home watching Kieran who wasn't feeling well. Daddy was off work...he was always on call, but today and tomorrow he wasn't on rotation for any of the hero teams. Jayden was looking forward to spending time with him too sometimes it was hard without him around, but they all understood how important his work was.
"Don't do that Mommy," the little girl said her lower lip stuck out for a moment and within the next heartbeat the emotion was changed with another. Delighted laughter soon filled the air as the little girl swung her arms from the railing above her head and launched herself down the tallest slide. She used the momentum to keep her feet as she ran over to her mother. She was nimble and quick on her feet, a trait thanks to her father and her own personal practice with her brother. Her small hand slid into her mother's outstretched one. She didn't miss her mother's smile or how her fingers curled a little tighter along with her hand as they walked through the park, heading to the mall that was a couple of blocks down the street. One of the reasons they were out walking was because it was a nice day out, warm but not yet at the sweltering temperature of summer weather.
"Any idea what we should buy Kieran and your father while we are out?" Asked her mom, her thumb running absently along her daughter's knuckles as they approached the entrance of the mall. The little girl's eyes glowed for a moment and then pulsed out as faint light engulfed her mom's hand, a strange sensation of being frozen in time for a moment before it cleared away. Her little cheeks flushed with color and she tried to remove her hand, but her mother only tightened her hold. "It's fine sweetheart," she told her, her golden eyes looking at her with a smile. Her twins were graced with a mixture of her own quirk and her husband Addison Walker better known as Phantom in the hero world. North America was full of its own heroes and villains just as Japan happened to have.
Aiya listened as her daughter told her what they should get them as they arrived at the mall and made their way toward one of the main entrances. Her gaze was alert as they walked closer through the parking lot, it wasn't very busy this early in the morning, but business usually picked up closer to lunch and the afternoon.
-Meanwhile, 30 minutes before the initiation of Blood Red One-
Little did anyone realize the plans already in place by the one man who could stand up to the number one hero in the world. His plans reached further than anyone gave him credit for. Everyone would be in for a surprise, the heroes most of all. "Do not fail me, we've worked too hard to begin this stage of the plan." A deep voice paused letting his words sink into the three people who were in various positions around the hotel room. "Once you have the girl, remember your exit, do not draw too much attention to yourselves and Kurogiri will meet you to move you all to the next safe house," he paused in his speech giving them all a moment to agree with him.
"Of course Sir, you can count on us," came the easy response of the male who was leaning against the wall, his attention on the phone as it rested on the coffee table. His crimson eyes glanced above the phone to regard the female who was currently lounging along the couch, her gaze on the phone and then drifting up to his own as she twirled a thin silver object between her fingers, at first he thought it was a pen of some kind and only frowned as he noticed it was something else entirely. At the look that slides along his features, she flashed him a wide grin and sat up. "You know we've got this, boss," she responded as the thin blade sailed through the air at a simple flick of her wrist and embedded into the wall next to Kazushi's ear, as blood dripped down. His eyes narrowed and he held his tongue on a remark as Shohei looked up from the file he was going over. "The plan is simple, I will create an illusion for the mother, while Kazushi will handle the girl. Itami is merely back up, I highly doubt this grab-and-go will need her talents. The mall isn't crowded at this time and it won't be difficult to take her even in broad daylight. We'll meet Kurogiri at the exit location and take our leave. It'll take two to three minutes tops, which is too limited a window for anyone to interfere," Shohei reiterated as he regarded the scene between the two with a raised eyebrow, silently questioning what the heck they were doing at a time like this. They needed to stay focused. "I expect to hear good things, do not fail me, " All for One reminded as the line went dead. Always with the last words.
The threat wasn't mentioned, but they all knew what would happen if they didn't complete their assigned task. If they succeed though, that is where the real prize would come in. The heroes were naive and assumed children were off-limits. That they were innocent if only they realized how little they actually were prepared for. If the kid didn't meet expectations they were expendable. Like a toy tossed in the trash after it was broken.
As the timer went off, they all stood ready to move forward with the plan. It was time. As he regarded his team, he looked to see any hesitation and weakness and found none. "Sync your time, we will only have five minutes tops to pull this off.

-Cambridge Mall-
Jayden tightened her grip on her mom's hand as the scene in front of her changed from two people walking toward them to only one man with well-kept red hair that fell over into his pink eyes. Frowning as he walked closer, he bumped into her mother's shoulder as he stumbled, his feet moving to catch himself. "Sorry, " he apologized, his eyes faintly glowing as he locked eyes with her mother for only a few seconds. As her mother waved away his apology with her other hand, telling him not to worry about it.
One moment she was in the safety of her mom's grasp, and the next, she was harshly jerked away. Her golden eyes widened as another set of crimson eyes bore deeply into her own.
'Quiet now my dear, it's time to come along like a good little pup. C'mon, that's right follow me.'
Those words floated through her mind as she watched her body move and comply. Her fingers curled along the man with crimson eyes and long purple hair. The fear was quick to take hold. 'Mommy won't let them take me, ' she thought as she was taken in the same direction long enough to see her mom laugh and wave excitedly, and she headed for the entrance. "Jayden, you silly girl, wait for me by the door, and don't go in without me!" she called out.
As those words reached her ears, she felt her hope die a little more. She struggled to get her body to move, but all she could get was a faint movement of her index finger. It wasn't enough. As they walked away, turning one of the corners and heading through the back area of the mall where the trucks came in with larger deliveries away from the public eye.
'Daddy will come...he'll know something is wrong...he'll come...someone will come...someone will save me'
Those hope-filled thoughts of a hero saving her kept her from being taken by despair. As a gate opened up in front of them in a dark purple portal and a distorted voice told them to get moving. They walked through as the blood-curdling screams of her mother reached their ears, causing someone behind her to giggle. Whoever it was, was female; there was no mistaking.
'Please save me! Someone, anyone, I want my mommy and daddy!'
The portal swallowed them, depositing them as they warped through it to another location, and several more every few minutes. Still, she wasn't able to move, and as frantic as she was, her body wasn't responding to her emotions, it was as though she was out of her body, and that's how it felt...the disconnect.
-Location: Japan, Area: Unknown-
Finally, they stopped moving through the purple portals and were deposited in a dark room, where only a few lights were working in the center of the room, where the back of a tall man could be seen. She was herself now, as her eyes rushed with tears that fell down her cheeks, and sounds she tried to stifle leaked through. As the man before them turned around; his face was covered by a large black device. Everyone knew his name, everyone knew what he looked like. All for One got down on one knee to stare into her eyes. "I've been waiting for you Jayden," his fingers curled gently under her chin to keep her from dropping her eyes. "You're a very special girl, and it's with your help that we are going to change the world," His voice was gentle and placating. She was a smart girl and knew all hope was lost at that moment. No one but All Might could stand up to him and definitely not her dad. "You want to help me don't you?" he wondered before adding. "No one has to die if you help me?" he promised as the little girl nodded; he smiled once more. "From this day forward you will be known as Kaiya Katagiri,"
All for One's plan was set in motion that day. His first of many successful kidnappings. No one was able to link the cases in America and Japan. They continued for the next eight years before stopping altogether.
The training of these kids with special quirks continued for years through the watchful gaze of the instructors that All for One had chosen. They were pushed past their limits, and they either kept breathing and improving or were put down as examples for the others.
-Ten Years Later-
Location: UA High School - Conference Room
Time: 3:30 pm
A week before the Transfer Exam
"Are we missing anyone?" The question came from Nezu the Principle of UA to the group of the facility who sat around the large table for the meeting that had been called following All Might's retirement and the most recent addition of All for One in the prison system. To put it mildly, they had a lot they needed to talk about and discuss. The situation was only continuing to deteriorate and everyone knew that the heroes were going to need to respond and be ready to face what was to come. The League of Villains wasn't done with their plans and they would need to be ready to face them. They had all seen the fight between Endeavor and the enhanced Nemu. No one wanted to admit it, but they were all aware of how fragile their power against the villains actually was and it was shrinking.
As Midnight spoke up all conversation seemed to stop for a moment. "Just All Might and the new teacher, but I'm sure they will be along soon," Many were curious about who the new teacher happened to be, but no one wanted to ask. "Of course, we will give them a few more minutes, I've been told they are just finishing up the tour," he told them with a polite smile as Nezu took a sip of his tea and waited patiently for the return of their missing facility, thus giving the signal to the others that it was fine that they resume some of their conversations as they waited. Mic nudged Eraser in the ribs trying to get him to talk, but he refused to rise to the bait, he really wasn't in the mood. He only knew a little about their new addition, well a lot actually, but that had been years ago and from what he heard about her underground work so far he was impressed and just hoped she was up to the challenge, this would be no easy feat.
Finally, the door opened admitting All Might and a young woman with long pink hair and light blue eyes behind him, she was dressed in a dark pink off-the-shoulder sweater and black skinny jeans, and a pair of ankle boots. She was commenting on what he mentioned as they walked into the room. "It won't be an issue, besides the dorms are a great idea, offering much more security after the issues as of late." As the young woman cast a quick glance at the large assembly of heroes present before ignoring them in favor of continuing to finish her conversation, her gaze never strayed from All Might as she gave him her full attention. "Staying on campus doesn't bother me, if I'm going to be looking after them, I'd rather be around to handle any issues," The confident smile as she held out her hand for All Might was a good gesture, one that worked well in her favor. "Thanks for the Tour, it's crazy how much has changed," As she let those words hang in the air between them, she turned to fully face the rest of the heroes assembled, as young as she was, there was no denying who she was, while she didn't work to top the charts like some of the others in her field, she kept out of the public eye following the same path as a few of her previous instructors at UA. "Sorry for the delay Principle Nezu, please continue," Toshinori commented as he directed the young woman to have a seat with him at one of the two open chairs further down the row.
"Hey is that who I think it is?" Hizashi whispered to him, although he couldn't whisper in a tone no one could hear if his life depended on it. Frowning Shota felt color rush to his cheeks anyway as he slouched further in his seat. There was no mistaking who she was, it was just surprising to see her after all this time, it was bordering on six years ago as the last time he saw her was on the day she graduated, he remembered all too well the struggle that day had been after the tragedy that had fallen just a few days prior. As much as he wanted to say something, this wasn't the time or the place. "Do you have something to add or may I continue Mr. Yamada?" At the scolding Hizashi was quick to apologize and tell him he could continue, but the look he shot his best friend, was a look that told him this matter was far from closed.
"As you all have noticed we have a new addition to our school, she will be taking over one of the classes we will be discussing today as the school will be going through some changes, I'll let her introduce herself and then we will continue," As Nezu gave her the floor and a kind smile in her direction. The faculty present waited with bated breath to find out who she was. Not all of them were here when she'd been enrolled at U.A and with so many students, it was easy to slip through the cracks.
Shota would be lying if he said he wasn't watching her as she tapped her finger against the arm of the chair she was sitting in. A nervous habit, she still had even after all this time, he shouldn't take pleasure in her discomfort, but he was glad to see that still, some things hadn't changed. "I'm known as Syphon to most of you, I stick to mostly underground work and don't see the need to top the charts," she gave a little nervous laugh as though that hadn't quite been what she'd meant to say. "I've been a hero for about six years now and if you want you can call me Alexis Knight, I graduated from here about six years ago now," she told them as she brushed back her wild locks of pink hair. Her attention was on the teachers directly across from her, but her sharp gaze swept over them all, she might be a little nervous, but she was just as formidable as any of them and deserved to be here. Her eyes landed on his own and the smile she gave him was softer and a little on the shy side, it was just for a moment before she was back to regarding everyone in the room, who may have wanted to put her down as inexperienced.
As her hair was brushed away he frowned and leaned forward catching sight of the tattoos on the base of her neck, but none of that is what caused him to pause. It was the thick scar on her left shoulder as though she'd been pierced through the shoulder by something, obviously in her hero work, but it had happened within the last six years, he tried to remember if he'd read up on any injuries and nothing immediately came to mind, he'd have to find out about that. As the conversation sort of lulled for a moment, her attention drifted back to the principal, no one seemed to have any questions, a few mentioned they were happy to have her here, and even Present Mic was sure to voice his pleasure at seeing her again and mentioning they should grab dinner to catch up, the laugh she gave him was melodic and soft and maybe Aisawa was the only one to pick up on the tension in her shoulders and the way her tone had changed slightly at his poorly hinted flirting. He also wasn't thrilled with the emotion that settled in his gut at the idea. He pushed it away and settled back in his seat. Eraser has merely been a teacher for a little too long.
Finally, Nezu called the meeting back to order and things began to get underway as he discussed the changes at UA that were being made and answered any questions that came up. "Our goal with the recent events and the intel that we are receiving about the direction of the league of villains makes us believe that we need to be more prepared and streamline our students to be better prepared for the real world, with Heroes retiring, it leaves the city and this country and the world in a strange place as the heroes will have to struggle to find their foot against the villains that come out of the woodwork at the prospect of easier targets. We have seen our mistakes and what works and wish to expand on the ideals of what we believe to be successful. That is why this addition of Class 1Z would be a test to see how our entrance exam would rank in comparison to how we had it before, and this class would be put through a series of different training sessions and events that would hopefully cause them to stand toe to toe with our other hero course classes in just a few short weeks to a few months." Leaning back Nezu crossed his arms and waited for the input of his staff.
"We've been contemplating this change since the sports festival, I see no issue with starting immediately," When no one had immediately spoken up about the Principal's desire to open up a new classroom, he felt almost obligated to...it was more work for him, but he couldn't deny that the villains were getting bolder, he saw that on his summer training camp with his students of class 1A and the others from class 1B.
Eraser wasn't as naïve as some who stood too long in the limelight to see the reality of the world. He'd never say it aloud, but sometimes he really thought some of his fellow heroes were complete idiots. So lost to what was actually happening in the world, focusing on trivial things that weren't important, forgetting why they do what they do. To say it was frustrating would be an understatement.
Leaning back in his chair, he placed his hands in his pockets, he knew it was only a matter of time before the others spoke up, either for or against the idea. This new direction was going to speed line the next group of students in about half the time as Class 1A, the objective was to catch them up and then combine the hero classes in group exercises, training, and actual combat scenarios and fieldwork either that be more internships or Hero Work-Studies, he wasn't sure yet, they hadn't ironed out the details, their Provisional Hero License Exam would be held in three months. The kids' gloves needed to come off and it was better to see if it worked now, rather than with a group they didn't handpick.
"So you're wanting to change your hero course exam to make it more productive to the core values of a hero, how they do when facing villains, saving lives and how they work as a team, it's a smart move and allows for diversity. I'm sure some others can attest to how having a more well-rounded exam doesn't allow others to fall back through the cracks, merely because they don't have a highly offensive quirk," Lexi spoke up in agreement with them but frowned realizing she might not have made it into UA with how they had it set up for the classes they had at currently. 'Foot in mouth much,' she thought to herself with a slight wince, she couldn't take it back now.
"Is it fair to assume you have some candidates for your test trial of the transfer exam?" Lexi was curious as those who were recommended if they managed to pass this new and improved entrance exam would be her first batch of students. She couldn't say that she was nervous about it, because it wasn't really that. She was actually surprised to see the job offer be extended to her. Her gaze skirted over to Aizawa, no he wouldn't dare interfere, but she would have to figure out why she was chosen for this school term. Unbeknownst to her, it was his recommendation that gave her the spot she found herself in. He was returning the favor that Midnight had offered him all those years ago when he was so sure he didn't want to be a teacher and his views had changed.
"We do, everyone here has nominated someone they know. Not all of these students in the entrance exam may pass, but those that do will be under your guidance Miss Knight, but do not worry you will have the assistance of those of us here to ensure this test goes as smoothly as possible," Nezu was extremely confident that this would be the push in the right direction that she would need to get over the latest incident a few months ago, it wasn't publicized but people talk the hero community was smaller than people really liked to believe. "I'm not worried Sir, I believe this is a good opportunity. I saw the last sports festival and I have the utmost confidence in my class, whoever they may be will exceed your expectations," The confidence was hard-fought and it was why she was sure that her own candidate would make the cut as well. She had met him in her time in America just under six years ago and when this job offer was extended and explained, she got his file ready. She'd worked with his father Phantom in the field, they had been partners for her entire time in America and had gotten to know their family and the struggles that they had gone through four years ago when they had lost their daughter at the age of six years old.
As the conversation turned to each of the teachers discussing who they nominated and why as the file showed on the screen, their meeting continued for about another hour before finally calling to a close. The candidates would be reached out to and their families talked to schedule the next date for their entrance exam test date to be as early as Monday the next week. 'Yeah, U.A. is nothing if not persistent,' she thought as she sighed softly and stood up to leave with the others as the meeting was adjourned.
There wasn't much she needed to do till Monday, she'd moved into the apartment complex close by earlier, not that there had been much that she'd really needed yet. Lexi rose with the others and was surprised to find Mic and Eraser waiting for her by the door. "Oh hey Sen-" she stopped mid-sentence as a faint flush of color washed over her cheeks as she changed her words. "Yamada, Aizawa it's been a while," she greeted and conversed in a much more relaxed manner with Present Mic keeping the conversation going as Aizawa was pretty quiet, which wasn't surprising, their own conversations had always been better one on one. He was listening to every word as they caught up on small talk, how their classes were going, the weather, nothing broached the past. "Let's get going," Hizashi said suddenly as they had been lingering in the conference room long after everyone else had left. "Huh?" Lexi muttered unintelligently before she could catch the slip-up. It didn't matter really, considering she hadn't caught on to what he meant. "To dinner, let's catch up, it's been a while and I wanna hear what you've been up to. So let's go Sho's buying."
Shota merely shrugged as he caught her gaze, as though she were waiting for him to jump to her defense to get out of this. "It's fine," he muttered as he slipped past her, the words so soft, she'd have thought she'd imagined them if it weren't for the reality staring her in the face as her old instructor, moved ahead of them. "Where are we going?" Aizawa questioned, taking the bait for what it was and what better way to learn what he wanted to know. He couldn't avoid her forever, things were just a little awkward after so long, but it would change it was a new dynamic they all needed to fall into now that she was no longer their student but their peer. Hizashi was quick to decide that it was the ladies' choice, which only instigated a heated good-natured argument about where they would go as they left the room heading out. Next week would come before they knew it, this downtime was something they should enjoy.
Alexis Knight aka Syphon
Quirk: Unknown
Location: Musutafu Airport
Day of the Transfer Exam
"Why so serious?"
Those words caused the young man with spiky black hair to turn and regard the woman standing behind him.
Alexis had come over to him from the other end of the airport, purposely staying out of sight. The wide smile on her lips was enough to cause him a small smirk in return. She hadn't changed at all. She curled one arm around his shoulders. "You've gotten taller in just a few weeks, I bet Addison's proud," she told him. "Yeah, he's thrilled, I'm not gonna be a shrimp," he said with a laugh as they began to walk toward the entrance. "You know I could have made it without the ride," Kieran was quick to tell her as he shouldered his duffle bag further along his shoulder. If he got in, he'd worry about getting a few more things for his stay in Japan, but first, he had to pass their Exam.
"Don't be silly Kieran, your dad would kill me if I let you wander around all alone," Lexi was quick to refute as she raised her arms behind her head as they walked. She got looks wherever she went, her looks usually caused many to give her a little pause, but she was never too concerned about what anyone thought of her. "I can't give you any insider info," she teased with a laugh. "I think you'll like it here, it's a nice change of pace," she admitted as they neared the entrance. A lone figure in black was waiting for them, his long hair tied back at the base of his neck.
Kieran regarded the man from a safe distance away, and as they went in his direction, he frowned. "Lex, who's that?" The question left his lips as he saw the man tracking their position, his posture relaxed, but his gaze watchful, he was watching them and the few scattered citizens around. As he pointed to the guy and watched as her gaze traveled to just who had caught his attention, she gave a nervous chuckle. "Oh him, that's uh Mister Aizawa," she told him. As he glanced at her, he was surprised to see that her gaze was averted. "Aizawa huh?" he muttered to himself. "Wasn't he like your teacher or something ages ago?"
"Yeah, he was actually. I attended UA high nine years ago...crazy to think how much time has passed though," she said casually, her earlier embarrassment forgotten. "You really are old," he teased as they continued to draw closer to the man with long black hair. "Hey! I'm not old!" she growled her arms crossing over her chest, she was only twenty-four, she definitely wasn't old. Kieran only grinned as they walked. "Seriously though why is he here with you, did you need a babysitter or something?"
Shaking her head she ran her fingers through her hair exposing the tattoo on her cheek as she regarded Shota from a safe distance, knowing he couldn't hear them just yet. "To be honest, I'm not sure, he seemed pretty insistent on going," The more she thought about it, the more she wondered why he pushed to go, she hadn't pressed at the time, but maybe she should have...but she hadn't wanted to know at the same time. Things were still a little on the awkward side as though they hadn't completely crossed the bridge to being colleagues just yet. "I think he feels guilty between you and me," she told him as her voice dropped in volume anyway as they walked. Violet eyes traveled to her in confusion, the question left unspoken as an eyebrow arched. The young man didn't get to ask anymore though as they came within earshot.
Shota had been watching them from where he waited at the entrance of the airport for a while. As Alexis had mentioned picking up Kieran from the airport, he knew he couldn't just let her go on her own. Perhaps he was hovering a little too much now that she was back in the country. He still remembered the incident that happened just before the graduation of her class, it had left a black mark on UA and the agencies who had been represented, but the school and the agencies had all bounced back. The kids and those affected had not, it wasn't something to just bounce back from. He wasn't surprised after graduation that many of his students from that year had gone in a multitude of directions struggling to handle the losses. She had fled to America to get away from the memories.
His hands curled into fists inside his pockets where he was lounging as he waited for them to come over. He really shouldn't have let himself get so caught up in the past. He couldn't help it though as his mind wandered back to the incident just three days before their graduation, the news coverage, and the debris at the site. The recovery effort, how the teachers wondered in hushed voices if there would be any survivors. The first student body was found, followed by five others as the search wore on. The number of injuries, some so grave they wouldn't be heroes again. Finding her alive and not seriously hurt thanks to one of her fellow classmates had been a relief to him, and he'd felt guilty knowing the lives lost, the lives affected in ways they wouldn't recover from and they were only kids. They were supposed to protect them, their failure, his failure would haunt him till the end of his days.
That had been the worst for her. The survivor's guilt had eaten her alive. He agonized over other alternatives and struggled to think if there had been something he could have done differently. The coordinated attack was a test and a successful one at that. He watched his students struggle, he watched her struggle to handle the loss, the guilty, and the anger. He wasn't sure how to help, how to be there. He'd been so far out of his element.
Lexi frowned as they approached Eraser, aware that he should have noticed them by now. He was usually always the first to notice something was up. She touched Kieran's exposed forearm taking some of his energy from the physical contact. The energy she was taking was regenerated continuously when people eat, drink, and most prominently sleep; you could count it sort of like taking away someone's endurance, but it wasn't quite just that, it was their energy. Her powers allowed her to siphon energy from people with physical contact with any part of her body and use that energy to enhance certain parts of her body for a short period. If she wanted she could drain people dry of their energy leaving them too weak to stand and in some cases after that fall unconscious. Her quirk didn't allow her to give energy to others.
Her quirk wasn't flashy only giving off a faint pink shimmer of light around the part of her body siphoning energy and the sensation she'd been told felt like a faucet being on full blast as the energy is pulled away in such rapid fashion, it's hard to explain, but in just a few seconds she can have someone on the ground exhausted. It can be broken out of, but it isn't easy to do as people feel sluggish almost immediately.
"Kieran-" She started to say but was cut off. "Stay out of the way, I know," he cut in having noticed the change in her tone and the tension in her body language, something he'd noticed often when his father was out in public, he'd notice things that would make him reactive and ready for anything. "So rude," she teased lightly trying to lighten the mood even as she reached out to wave her hand in front of the dark-haired man's eyes. She was prepared for the reaction most had when they lived the lives they did. He was right-handed, something she'd know as his student. She'd taken more of his right hooks than she cared to remember. "Earth to Aizawa," she called to him. Keeping her body light and relaxed ready to move if necessary, but this was always the tough part of predicting his movements.
As his fingers curled around her wrist, she didn't wince at the strength behind it, she wasn't that little girl anymore. Her light blue eyes were worried as she regarded him. "You've never been much of a space cadet," she commented as she casually twirled a strand of her long hair around her index finger. Her posture was loose and relaxed, not just to react to whatever he might have done, but to give the appearance of control to the people who were watching, everyone was always so nosy. As he muttered an apology and released her wrist as though he'd burned her. "It's nothing," he told her, he didn't miss the look of hurt that traveled across her features, but he ignored it. This wasn't the time or the place to discuss the past. His gaze turned to the young man whose attention was on him and who didn't look too happy with him. "Who's this?" He questioned more to change the subject, but his eyes were an unusual purple color, and it left him curious about who he was related to.
Lexi smirked and her grin only widened as she motioned to who stood next to her clearly excited to introduce him. "This is Kieran Walker, he's the son of the Phantom, a pro hero in America, I met them on my adventures overseas," she told him proudly. "I've no doubt he'll do well in the exam later today," she was full of confidence in him, so sure that he wouldn't have any trouble. Perhaps she was a little biased, but she'd known him since he was just a little kid, still struggling with his sister's abduction; it wasn't something that was just gotten over. She saw so much potential in him.
Kieran for a moment didn't say anything, but it wasn't surprising that his dad would be mentioned, there was much he needed to live up to. Expectations were high after all, high from everyone. It was stressful, being home was stressful. Things were hard between his parents after what happened with Jayden. He shook his head. He needed to push her to the wayside, he couldn't be distracted. Stepping forward he didn't hesitate to meet the eyes of the man before him and hold out his hand. "It's a pleasure Mr…" he let his words hang there, his father taught him to always look someone in the eyes and to shake hands like a man. For a heartbeat, the man stared at him as though he were staring into his soul. "Aizawa, we will see each other a lot, my class is the one you have to beat one of these days," he warned him, but his handshake was firm, but not crushing. This man had nothing to prove to him. "Alright, I'll manage to do just that," he promised with a small smile. He wasn't sure what to make of him, but so far things seemed to be getting off on the right foot.
"Let's get going," Eraser told them as he began to lead the way from the airport to where the car was waiting to take them back to the school. The conversation would have stalled, but Lexi was a natural at poking into every aspect of his life as though there was nothing off limits, sort of like that annoying older sister he never had. She even managed to get Aizawa to join in on the conversation and tell him a little about his students, and a few of the teachers at the school. It was certainly something he was interested in learning about. He'd seen some of it when it had aired on tv, but it was interesting to hear about it from him as he explained how it went. His soft spot was his students, maybe that was why he came today. He knew there was more of a history between Lexi and Mr. Aizawa. There seemed to be something, but he wasn't sure what it was just yet, it was their history obviously, but whatever it was it seemed heavier and it left him more than a little curious.
