Chachi Arcola was thinking about Joanie Cunningham again. Chachi walked over to the window and reflected on his pretty surroundings. He had always loved picturesque Los Angeles with theme parks. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel worried. Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was a figure of Joanie Cunningham.

Chachi gulped. He glanced at his reflection. Once, he even had helped a injured bird cross the road. But not even a hopeful person who once helped an injured bird cross the road, was prepared for what Joanie had in store today. The sun shone, making Chachi calm. Chachi grabbed a hat that had him massage it with his fingers.

As Chachi stepped outside and Joanie came closer, he could see the glint in her eye. Joanie gazed at a hamster she was holding.

She said, "I love you and I want love."

Chachi looked back, even more calm and till fingering the hat.

"Joanie, let's get married," he replied.

They looked at each other, with feelings. Chachi regarded Joanie's solid fingers.

"I feel the same way!" revealed Joanie with a delighted grin.

Joanie felt her emotions flushing.

Then Joanie came inside for a nice cup of tea.

"What do you want to do next?" Chachi asked as Joanie finished making the tea she wanted.

"We can call Mom and Dad to spread the engagement news."

"Every time they both had tried doing this, they both found it the wrong time.

"Joanie, somehow it makes me think now is perfect time to try again."

"I think you could be right."

"Let's give it another chance."

She liked the idea.

"Do you think you'd tell him about it too?"

"Of course I'm going to tell him. He's a good example for this sort of thing because he has two children," he reminded her.

"Ihaven't forgotten about his children."

"It's not often he mentions them unless I ask."

She saw he had a good point.

"Want any tea? I made plenty."

"No thank you."

"There's some left if you change your mind."

"You are such a wonderful person."

He means it too.

Joanie had always liked hearing that from him once in a while, and takes his compliment.

"Till the end of time."

Now all they had to do was decide when to share the news.

Line Break

The next day or so arrived. Joanie and Chachi decided it was a good day to share this news once again to the Fonz and her parents. Richie wasn't home to hear about it, which is okay.

"Do you want to hear my news now or wait until she tells Mr. and Mrs. C.?" he asked.

"What are you talking about, Chachi?" Fonzie asked.

"Myself and Joanie," was his answer.

"What's the subject?"

"I know we planned to share this at the same time, but I couldn't wait at the last minute to share with you, so that's why I'm doing it now," Chachi told his cousin.

"I'm hoping this is the right time to see if we can finally get married."

"So that's why you mentioned telling us at the same time."

"Yeah, Fonz. That's exactly correct."

"Have you found a ring for her?"

"Not yet. I'm going to wait for the right time to see if we can finally get married."

"So that's why you mentioned telling us at the same time."

"Yeah, Fonz. That's exactly correct."

"Have you found a ring for her?"

"Not yet. I'm going to wait for a while and see if this engagement works. You know it's always been the wrong time."

"Yes, Fonz. Isn't that what I just said?"

Line break

While he had that conversation with Fonzie, Joanie was doing the same thing.

"Is the right time for you and Chachi to do this one more time?"

"That's what we think. I hope it's going to finally happen. We haven't decided on anything yet. We're starting to talk about it. He said he would tell the Fonz as well."

"At leas you could've had him here at the same time instead of separately."

"I know, Dad. I'm sure Fonz would have told Chachi that too. I even made some tea for us when we talked about it."

"Did he accept?" Marion asked.

"No. He's not a tea drinker," she reminded Marion.

"Has he told Arthur this news yet like you are?"

"We both it made sense to share all at once, but I guess it's okay if we didn't tell everyone together."

"I hope you are making the right decision on this with Chachi," Howard said.

"That's what he and I agreed on. We haven't decided to get a ring or anything."

"It's a good idea not to rush on the ring part, Joanie," Howard said.

She didn't say anything after that, but all Joanie did was nod her head. No time for an argument.

"I shall call Chachi and see what Fonzie's reaction was to our engagement."

"That can wait until you see him, dear."

Howard nodded.

"Your mother is right. There's always tomorrow."

She nodded her head a second time.

"I know," was all she could say.

She thought about what Howard just told her, but decided against it and went straight to the phone and called him.

Chachi wasn't there to take her call, so all she could do was leave a message.

"I hope he calls back."

Note:

I know this is different from what I normally write, but I found it on my phone and decided to give it a shot. It was a prompt, but I chose to work around it and make it better. Some of it might not make sense, but I'm giving it a shot. Enjoy!
