Torture. That had to be it. He shut his eyes tight against the unbearable heat and tried to remember how he'd arrived in this tiny, dark and superheated cell. He couldn't remember. Strange that no one had asked any questions.
He was about to lose consciousness when he was grabbed and dragged from the room. Scalding heat gave way to teeth-rattling cold, which became vastly colder as his naked body was dunked into icy water. He gasped and fainted.
Fitz looked on, embarrassed, and decided that treating the Doctor to a Finnish sauna wasn't such a good idea after all.
