"A thousand years into the future, the world is dying. Pirates have long since ruled the world in fear. Those who are not slaves or who are not murdered, hide in fear. Chosen ones, you have saved other worlds. I ask you to save your own." A short gray-haired woman said and looked at the four teenagers.
"You want us? Four kids with nothing to save our own world." Tai paused. "When we saved the Digital World, we had Digimon and it was pure dumb luck."
"Besides, we can't save millions of people." Matt said and shook his head. "There is no way, four people can save millions. There is no way to do what you are asking."
"The millions living today will be the hundreds living tomorrow." The woman answered in her riddles. She waved her hand and brought up a sphere that seemed to be Earth. Japan, part of Europe and Asia, and some of the United States and Canada were left; the rest of the land were tiny islands or nonexistent.
"What happened?" Sora gasped and stared at the holographic Earth, bruised and beaten.
"In before the year 3000, humans had started to live in space on colonies. Three colonies, complete with residents, were already in space. Except there was a mistake which caused one colony to fall, smashing into another colony, before crashing into the Earth, on the eastern side of the United States. Through this chaos, tsunamis ravaged the western Europe and Africa. Parts of the other colony, fell onto South America, destroying the entire continent and sending a tsunami wave to Australia and the lower part of Asia. One part crashed into Africa and drowned western Europe and southwestern Asia.
"At that time, the western part of North America was left, along with eastern and northern Asia and northwest Europe. The last colony was evacuated and stays a ghost. In that day, technology was far more advanced and pirates, who were anyone from petty thieves to terroist, created crews and techological ships to rule the many waters.
"It was in 3000, that pirates became a problem. The world was already dying. No government, barely any food to feed the thousands left, and pirates often came onto land and kidnapped a few to torture. It was the year after that when pirates attacked the thousands left, who were already dying and starving, causing them to retreat underground. A colony in North America was built, this time the colonies were underground, and two in Europe and Asia. Anyone who was alive and could, were forced to travel these underground cities, barely to see the sunlight again." The woman stopped. The four looked disturbed and Sora was crying softly.
"You want us to go into the future. And save the world. How?" Izzy asked and met the woman's eyes.
"Destroy the pirate, Captain Lancel. Find Princess Ichigo Yamachi of the Asian colony. I will send you to cave of enterance. Be quick and you may return to your own time if Lancel is killed." She paused. "Do you accept this?"
"Yes." Sora was the first to speak and as if she was swallowed into a bright light, she was gone.
"I'm going." Tai said and in the same light, he disappeared.
"I accept." Izzy said and looked at Matt, seconds before the light took his body.
"Why not?" Matt shrugged and evaporated into the light.
