Assistant

Summary: Well, Spike's a big, huge movie star and Buffy... she's his assistant.

Disclaimer: I own nothing, nothing at all except maybe a few original characters but they're easy to spot.

***** Prologue *****

Mr. William 'Spike' Giles was one of the biggest movie stars in the whole industry. He was also one of the highest paid. His last two movies were huge blockbusters making him the new 'it' guy of the industry. However, he really owed all his success to one person and to one person only... himself. Or so he thought.

Buffy Summers was Spike's best friend, always had been even before he became a huge star. They had been neighbors all their life so they were pretty close. When Buffy was fifteen her mother died and since her father was let's just say 'unreliable', Spike's father Rupert Giles adopted her. He had already treated her as his own daughter even before Joyce died anyway so the transition was pretty smooth. Because of that she and Spike had become closer than ever. So naturally when Spike moved to LA to become a movie star, Buffy followed him instead of going to college and when he become a movie star, he had looked to the person he trusted the most to become his assistant. Buffy didn't need to be asked twice and said 'yes' immediately.

Buffy's big dream actually was to become a journalist. Going on assignments around the world and doing important things. That's the reason why Spike and Buffy thought alike. It had been Spike's dream once too. Unfortunately, the acting bug had bitten him and he let it all go for a shot of stardom. Buffy knew that Spike could make it big. He always had that natural charisma around him which just drew you to him. So she decided to let her dream go as well and help out her best friend.

At the start, it had been hard. She worked as a waitress in a restaurant and he worked as a busboy just to make ends meet. But just as Buffy, had predicted, Spike did succeed. He did a small part in an independent movie, which later on became a huge success and Spike despite his small part was described as a 'scene stealer'. This led to more parts and before they knew it, he was a star.

Now, you may be asking why Spike asked Buffy to be his assistant despite the fact that he knew she wanted to be a journalist. Well, success is a big thing and he was so caught up in it that pretty soon, he forgot all about it and Buffy... well, she had her reasons as well.
