Moria
Chapter 2

Author's notes: Thanks for the reviews. I didn't think I'd get feedback this fast. Whoa. Just telling you, I can't post chapters and stuff that often; my mother does these idiotic newsletters and hogs the computer day and night for just about three weeks of the month. I try to use the computer as often as I can, though.
Please R&R this chapter too! (A/N, I don't know whether I spelled "dwarfish" right or not.)

Gimli had been going on and on for days about how wonderful the tunnels and twisting passageways of Moria were; he had told us many times that if we just decided to go there, his cousin Balin would give us a "royal welcome," such as only the dwarves can give. For hours he would ramble on and on about the great mines of Moria; the huge halls, great chasms, and the wealth of the metals found there. By the time the ring bearer chose for us to enter Moria, we all knew everything about Moria that anyone could possibly learn, except for one thing: Why had Balin stopped corresponding with his dwarfish relatives?
I worried about this question as we descended from Caradhras. I knew Frodo was making a poor choice, but what else could he do? Order us to continue over Caradhras until we froze to death under sixteen feet of snow? No, he did what he thought was right, what was best for the Fellowship.
Gimli had been filling his head with wonderful-and misleading, though he didn't know it yet-visions of what Moria would be like. So it is no wonder he decided to enter Moria.

Ai! I'm sorry this is story is so short, my mother is kicking me off the computer. I don't know if I'll be able to use it for the next couple weeks because I have midterms. Whoop-de-doo. I may be able to post a couple of things that I have written previously, if I can only find them.
