Dead Man Walking

PG-13 (potentially adult situations)

Chloe/Clark

A/U, no spoilers, NOT CANON

Author note: This has been rolling around in my (cute) little head for awhile and I finally got a bit of inspiration from the Pulp Fan Fic Project. Short, sweet, and Chloe gets her man!

Summary: Chloe's Clark is back.

"Chloe---Chloe?" A voice said softly, tickling Chloe's ear.

"Clark---" Chloe replied, turning over and embracing what she thought was a dream.

"Chloe---wake up---it's me." Clark said, a little louder.

Chloe cracked open her eyes and screamed so loudly at the vision in from of her that it reverberated in her bedroom.

"Clark?" Chloe reached up to touch the man in red, blue, and yellow, tears forming in her eyes.

"It's me, Chloe. I'm back," Clark replied, sliding in the other side of the bed and letting Chloe's hands wander over his face.

"You can't be.you're dead, Clark. Superman died two days ago. I know you're dead. Metropolis has been in mourning ever since." Chloe said, trying to talk herself out of this dream before she woke up and her heart was broken again.

"I'm alive. I just---Lois, and the press---I don't want to be Superman anymore." Clark replied, tracing Chloe's face.

"So you faked your own death and caused me to nearly die with grief?" Chloe retorted, getting angry.

"I did." Clark replied, grabbing her hands under the heavy cover. "But if you'll forgive me---how'd you like to marry a dead man?" Clark replied.

"How can we? Everyone knows the infamous Superman, baby."

"We could work for the Justice League. I could change my name. You could change your name. Chloe, all I know is that every second I was with Lois, I wanted to be with you."

Chloe's eyes began to spill over silently.

"I'll do whatever it takes to be with you, Clark. You're my Superman, stupid outfit or not." Chloe teased.

"I love you." Clark replied, guiding Chloe's back to lie against his chest.

"I love you---" Chloe stopped as she looked at Clark, sleeping like a baby.

"My Clark. Not Superman. My Clark." Chloe repeated to herself, lulling herself to sleep.
