Author's Note: This is from Arwen's p.o.v. at the time of Aragorn's death.
If it's confusing, read their story in appendix A which is very sad
without being melodramatic. That's hard to do and I think I've failed at
it, so PLEASE R&R w/ constructive criticism!
Arwen's Poem
You told me
Yesterday
That you would turn from both
The shadow
And the twilight
My yesterday
Was fifty years ago
But I remember
Because you smiled
Because you didn't smile often
And because rarity aids memory
You called me
My year ago
Your hundred years ago
By a name that wasn't mine
But like Tinuviel
They will remember us
Because rarity aids memory
As does pain
And in pain I will remember
The span of your stride
The lines on your palm
Your hopes for your people
The hope you gave them
But also in joy
For I hold to what I said
Yesterday
That it is better to live for a day in the daylight
Than to live forever in the twilight
