Darkness Coming

I know they are out there,
in the rain.
I know they seek us,
to cause us pain.
I will not lose all that I
have so recently gained.
But I fear to move
to destroy them
lest Kermit should awaken.
So I lie in his arms and listen,
as they ever closer move
and smile slightly,
to think of my love's reaction.
He can be... quite violent
when rudely awakened.
