I have given, I have given
And got none
Still I'm driven by something I can't explain
It's not a cross, it is a choice
I cannot help but hear his voice
I only wish that I could listen without shame

He kicked the ground at the cemetry, dirt stuck somewhere
in between his toes. As he kept walking, he felt the stones
on the bottom of his foot, lost in the hole in his woolen
sock.
There were no more voices this time. No one following him
as he walked through the gravestones, hoping for at least
one shadow. Some sort of smiling soul he could talk to, since
he'd lost his voice so long ago.
"I have a son"
The trees blew to one side, and he could see the sun from behind
some gray clouds in the sky. The ones that had made his brother
reluctant to leave him there, with wilted flowers in his hands.

Let it rain
Let it rain on me
Let it rain, oh let it rain
Let it rain on me

"I have a son. And I'm going with him"
The breeze stopped, and he turned his face to the sky, as the rain
drops started to fall. The weather was still warm, but the gray clouds
had swallowed what was left of the sun. He stood there, and let the trees
start to thrash violently.
These people were all he had for such a long time, he expected them to
throw a fit when he said he was leaving.
"May you rest in peace, my friends"
As he walked towards the car where Victoria waited, he looked over his
shoulder at the clouds that slowly parted, and the sun that came back out.
"Ready to go to the airport, Tio?"

It isn't easy to be kind
With all these demons in my mind
I only hope one day I'll be free
I do my best not to complain
My face is dirty from the strain
I only hope one day I'll come clean
And got none
Still I'm driven by something I can't explain
It's not a cross, it is a choice
I cannot help but hear his voice
I only wish that I could listen without shame
