"Syd!" Weiss yelled, heavily running after her.

"Hey," She turned and smiled. "What's going on?" Did they need her for another mission, she had just got back from one, she thought unhappily.

Suddenly Weiss got really uncomfortable, "Uh, can we talk for a second…in here." He opened the door to an empty office.

"Is everything okay?" Had something happened to Vaughn? No she had just seen him but what else would Weiss need to talk to her about?

"Listen, I know it's not really any of my business, really I know but hear me out." Sydney didn't argue but her face tightened a bit. "I feel sort of responsible for what happened in France, it was sort of my idea in the first place. But," he held up his hand to stop her protest, "I just really want you to think before you give up on the idea of you and Vaughn."

Sydney sighed, she was a little ticked about him butting his nose in but she realized his intentions were good. "There is no Vaughn and I, and frankly, I don't know if there ever will be. I just don't want to spend my time fantasizing about something that might never be."

Weiss had been nodding his head but stopped at that, "Don't you see, if you stop hoping, then you're giving up on something that could be really great."

Sydney put her hand on his shoulder, "Listen, I appreciate your advice but I don't want to talk about it anymore."

"Talk to him about it, then." He almost yelled.

Sydney turned her back on him and walked towards the door.

"Don't you get it, everyone else does." Sydney's hand stopped on the handle and Weiss knew he had gotten her attention. "You can pretend its not there, you can avoid it but all you're doing is ignoring the inevitable. We lead dangerous lives, and we may not get the chance to-"

"It's more dangerous if we do," she hissed, not at him but at the gods who were dead set on making her life near impossible.

"Just because it didn't work out that one time doesn't mean-" He was interrupted again by Vaughn bursting into the room.

"I'm just going to ignore the fact that you too are standing alone, in this dark room." He joked, missing the tension in the room. "But, Weiss you have a call."

Weiss sighed and walked to the door, "Think about what I said," he whispered to Sydney.

As soon as Weiss was gone, Vaughn asked, "Think about what?"

Sydney weighed her answers and came up with nothing, so she just looked at the floor.

"So would you like me to break his nose before or after I tell him to stay out our business?"

Sydney smiled, she probably could have come with a lie but Vaughn was the one person she didn't ever want to lie to.

"I should get going," she told him.

Vaughn nodded, "Syd," he said just before she left. "One day we'll go back to France and take up that offer on that room."

Sydney turned back around, smiling, "Yes we will."
