Basketball. It's a beautiful sport that Mr Naismith created just to keep his students from being the streets. Such sport was the one that changed the life of Naruto Uzumaki.

To understand Naruto you must know his past, you see he was born in Tokyo, Japan and was left at an orphanage for the beginning of his life. He was born on October 11, 1992. He had been going from foster home to foster home the feeling of being unwanted was very huge in Naruto's heart and that feeling was only erased when he was brought into the Yakuza. Sure he was young and stupid at only thirteen but one day he was swopped up from his past by his Aunt Tsunade who went through all the trouble to find him and take to live with him in Orlando, Florida.

At first he gave Tsunade a hard time as he would go out at night and cause havoc which ended up with him being put in a holding cell but over time Tsunade grew very dear to Naruto and when he began to enjoy his time in America he studied more and spent less time causing havoc as now he was an A+ student. So because of that Tsunade decided to take him to the 2006 NBA Finals that were in Miami.

There is where he fell in love with Basketball and he also met Kobe Bryant: It's actually pretty funny how they met really. You see Naruto was going to the bathroom when there was five minutes left in the second since he knew that the bathroom was going to be packed when the second ended so he decided to go early.

Getting into a bathroom stall he first put toilet paper on the rim since lot's of people put their cheeks on that rim. Anyway sitting down he did his business as then he could hear someone else walk in the stall on his right. Paying no attention he did his business as he could hear the person next to him was struggling in a way since he was hearing grunts and stuff. "Hey man are you okay, nextdoor?" he asked as a voice replied "Yeah just releasing some pressure."

"Cool…" Naruto replied as he was about to take some tissue as he noticed there wasn't any left. 'Damn it!' the Uzumaki thought as he decided to ask his neighbour "Hey man could you give some tissue my stall doesn't have any left."

"Sure here." The voice said as he gave the tissue to Naruto by sliding it under the opening. "Thanks." He replied as he wipped himself clean and flushed the toilet. "Hey do you want the tissue back?"

"Yeah." He heard the voice as he slid it back to the man as he went over to the sink. Putting some soap on his hands and water he scrubbed as then the toilet in the stall next to him flushed. Naruto looked at his hands as he scrubbed them, the door of the stall opened as the man walked next to him and washed his hands. "You know I actually thought you were an adult." Naruto looked up to see a familiar African-American male he was so tall he looked like a giant even though he was 5ft11.

"Wait…are my eyes deceiving me." Naruto went to rub his eyes which caused soap to be in his eyes. "Aargh! Fuck!" the Uzumaki shouted as then man went into some type of parental mode or something "Woah kid calm down let me help you." The man said holding Naruto down so he doesn't freak out as he opened the tap of water as he used his hand to scoop the water up and put it on the Uzumaki's face, they did this for a minute. "Does it still hurt?" the man asked "No it's better now." Naruto replied as he took a paper towel and wiped his face.

"Good man I still can't believe that you thought your eyes were deceiving you that you put soap in them." The man said as he laughed "Well what'd you expect your Kobe Bryant you don't get to see NBA players in the public bathroom of an arena you know."

"True that but anyway since you know my name what's yours young blood."

"Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki."

"Naruto? Wait as in Narutomaki, so your telling me your named after fishcake." Kobe felt like laughing but he couldn't laugh at a kid could he? "Yeah my mom loved ramen so she named me after her favourite toppings that's what my Aunt told me."

"You know I used to love ramen back when I lived in Italy."

"Wait you lived in Italy? What's your favourite team?"

"Oh me I loved Seria A and AC Milan is my team."

"Me too. But I like watching the Premier League since…"

"It's unpredictable." They said in unison "Oh yeah I know I like Liverpool though." Kobe said

"So you're a 'Never Walk Alone' type of guy?" Kobe nodded "Huh well I like Manchester City."

"City? Why City I mean United is way better than them by a lot."

"Exactly." Kobe looked confused "You see they say those who are patient will be rewarded and one day City will be at the top we just need to be patient."

"The way your saying it since they share the same city it's as if you think the Clippers are one day going to be better than the Lakers."

"Oh hell no the Clippers have a curse or something because let me predict that in the next five years the Clippers are gonna have an All-Star Point Guard and a very solid draft pick but still they won't make it to the Finals."

"Okay whatever you say little man." Kobe went over to get a paper towel. "So I guess this is it huh we'll never see each other again."

"Don't say that who knows maybe you'll end up in the NBA and we might meet how old are you?"

"Fourteen."

"How tall are you?"

"5ft11." Kobe nodded as he spoke

"You're going to be able to make it from what I can see, just start playing ball you live near a basketball court right?" Naruto nodded "Okay check start playing now and I mean seriously, go sign up to the AAU, go to those Nike Summer Camp things they be hosting, play tournaments that are hosted in your area. Work on your craft and before you know it you'll be seeing me on the regular."

"I don't have a ball." He said as Kobe smirked "I'll be right back." Kobe went out of the bathroom and returned two minutes later with a fresh Spalding. "Here use this to train and as a 'I believe in you' sign." Kobe wrote on the ball I believe in you as he signed it and gave it to Naruto. "If that's not a motivation then I don't know what it is." He said with a smirk "Wow you really believe in me." Kobe nodded "Kid I have a feeling that you are suppose to be in the NBA and that same feeling was the one that helped me win my first championship."

"Wow that's actually incredible…you know what I promise that I won't disappoint you Kobe-sensei." Naruto said bowing as Kobe had a surprised look "Kobe-sensei? Huh I kind of like that, I've never had some one give me an honorific before, but it's kinda nice being called sensei." He said as then his phone rang. "Ah, the wife's calling I got to go, anyway hope I see you soon Naruto."

"You will sensei I promise. Also if you one day win a championship could you if the press ask you how it felt can you tell them 'I just got one more than Shaq you can take that to the bank'" The Uzumaki shouted as he saw Kobe have a smile before he walked out of the bathroom. "Did that just really happen?" Naruto said shocked as he looked back at himself in the mirror. Walking out of the bathroom with his Kobe signed Spalding.

When he returned home with Tsunade he told her about his meeting with Kobe and that he wanted him to one day play in the NBA. Tsunade was skeptical first and denied him to play but Naruto said if he continued to get A's she had to allow him to play basketball she agreed and he kept his side of the deal, he began training every day and night at the local court and he would go to the AAU center when he had no homework or projects. During summer he would go to the Nike Summer Basketball Camp and work on his craft, even though the last time he had seen Kobe was at the bathroom back in 2006 he could feel the man giving him an unimpressed look when he would sit on the couch and watch him play, one time during a Lakers game vs the Clippers during a timeout Kobe's face was shown and he wasn't looking at Phil Jackson but directly at the camera with a blank stare it was as if he was telling Naruto 'Why are you sitting on that couch the job's not finished Is the job finished? I don't think so.'

You know after seeing that look Naruto got off the couch and went to his room to get the Spalding as he goodbye his aunt Tsunade. He attended Freedom High School in South Orlando the motto of their school was 'Honor, Excellence, and Tradition.' Your boy took those words to heart since when he started playing for the basketball team he was dominating from the word go. Leading his team in points, assists, rebounds and steals, the way he played the game was similar to Kobe…why you ask because he was dropping fadeaways like they were nothing in one game he was shooting fadeaway three's and he dropped 12! My guy he was so good that his peers began calling him 'Mr Splashman' cause he made it splash for days!

Tsunade was proud of this development that her nephew was an A student and loved playing basketball which meant he never got in trouble. She being a doctor at the Orlando Health Regional Medical Center meant she wasn't at home a lot of times but she always made sure to make a nice meal for Naruto and what's crazy is that not once did Naruto ever need to put the food in the microwave since they were always hot, one time he returned home with Tsunade being gone for five hours and the food was as hot as if it was made 5 minutes back!

When Naruto asked how she did it, she replied that it was a secret that would destroy all the laws of physics! So, it was some serious stuff she was hiding. Anyway back to his basketball during his junior year he was able to bring back a state championship to his school as he averaged 27 PPG, 9 RPG, 7 APG, 4 BPG, 5 SPG. You would think with these crazy numbers as a high schooler he'll be the talk of the entire country right…wrong people found out about his past and that made his recruitment stars drop from 5 to a freaking 1! Literally did people not like his past that much, I mean sure he was in one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in Japan and there he learnt how to shoot and fight that didn't mean he was a loose cannon.

In his senior year your boy was on a mission to bump those stats up to make the college coaches have water in their mouth's as they wanted to coach him, he averaged 31 PPG, 11 RPG, 6 APG, 4BPG, 5SPG, he won the Naismith High School Player of the Year award and brought home a second state championship. He was voted subsequently his team's Most Valuable Player and the entire school literally made a petition to have his jersey retired, so next to the two banners that are in the Freedom High School Gym there sat the retired jersey of Naruto Uzumaki. Number 24.

Finishing High School Naruto was an A student literally his grades would make schools like Harvard want to pitch to him instead of the other way, that's how smart the guy was and he did Accounting, Science and Mathematics! My guy this dude was one of a kind but you would think with his crazy grades and crazy stats his mailbox will be filled to the brim with college recruitment letters…well no there weren't any, until Alan the local postman went to Naruto's house busy dancing that he walked up to the house as he knocked on the door.

A now 17 year old Naruto opened the door he was 6'0, he was wearing a white shirt, blue shorts and black Jordan IV's. "Alan? What are you doing here?" Alan had a grin as he held the letter "Duke University...boyaah!" Alan said as Naruto had a shocked look "Really…open it."

"What why me?"

"I can't do it just open it and read it for me."

"I can't do that it's against mailman policy I can't read a client's mail."

"Just read the damn thing man!"

"Okay, okay don't shout." He began to open the envelope as he took out the letter as he read it.

"Hi Naruto. I am so excited that it's August 1, 2010 and I can finally contact you and tell you that you are an amazing athlete so I know you'll be a good fit of our program. I hope you show how excited I am to have you as a potential student-athlete at Duke University. Sincerely Mike Krzyzewski."

"Hell yeah!" Naruto shouted in celebration "I'm gonna be a Blue Devil! Hell yeah!" he shouted in celebration "Congrats man I'm prouf of you." As Naruto gave Alan a hug "Thanks man." As then it happened 'the voice' returned it was as if the owner knew he was celebrating. "So what you got recruited by Duke is the job's not done, is it done? I don't think so." He voice ringed as Naruto went into the house as he walked out with his Kobe signed Spalding not as fresh as it was four years but it still get's the job done.

"Hey where are you going?" Alan asked "To train just because I got recruited by Duke doesn't mean the job's done." Naruto shouted out. Yep Kobe was literally in the mind of the Uzumaki a man he hadn't talked to face to face was still in his consciousness it was as if he was part of his mind. Anyway you when it was time for his sophomore year there was only one goal Naruto had and that was to make his sensei proud even though he never showed it. On his first ever team practise when Mike said they should introduce themselves Naruto went in the middle of the group as he introduced himself.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki and I'm not going to get punked by anybody." He said making his teammates and Mike know he was a brash youngster, even though he wasn't the tallest and he was the skinniest anyway playing the 2010-2011 season he ended with 20.3 PPG, 5.7 APG, 3.1 RPG, 1.2 BPG and 4.2 SPG he was able to lead Duke to the Finals were he was able to deliver and win the NCAA Championship, sure everyone was happy and celebrating but not him he went straight to the gym since the job wasn't done. Sure he was named Naismith Player of the Year and his GPA in Accounting Sciences was 4.0 he wasn't satisfied.

In the 2011-2012 he averaged 21.1 PPG, 6.1 APG, 4.2 RPG, 1.4 BPG and 4.3 SPG but with such a nice season he wasn't able to win against UConn in the final. With another Naismith in the bank he decided he was ready so at the age of 19 he declared for the NBA Draft. He was projected to be a Top 3 pick aka a Lottery pick but with his past still lingering my were unsure of his ability to stay out of trouble and his dedication to the game. But despite the negative rumours and comments, Naruto's skills and talent was undeniable but still every team wasn't giving him at least a little consideration.

So because of that he decided to go to the Portsmouth Scout Day hoping it would get people talking. 64 Days till the NBA Draft he was currently in the locker room sitting on a bench, he had his Beats Headphones on as he was listening to Dr Dre ft Snoop Dogg- Still D.R.E it was his own type of ritual to get into a nice groove and it kept him from being nervous as a fellow participant sitting next to him was looking pretty nervous as he kept moving his foot. Taking off his headphones and stopping the song he spoke "No need to be nervous man just another day playing the game Naismith made."

"Yeah maybe for you it's another day, but me how many scouts you think made it out to Montana to come check on me?"

"Damn that's tough."

"Tell me about it." he replied as then the locker room door was opened and a very tall and very familiar figure walked in "What's up, fellas?" the man wore a black suit, everyone in the locker room was shocked since the man was none other than Scottie Pippen. "Yo Scottie Pippen what's up man." Naruto got up and went to greet the man since everyone else in the locker room was still frozen from shock. But then again his shock was wiped out of his system by meeting Kobe.

Anyway after greeting the man he returned to sit down as Scottie spoke "Yeah, a lot history in this locker room, man." he began as he dug into his right pocket "Yeah check this out. Take a look at this." he gave the boy who was standing closest to him the 'thing'. "You know, I'm from Arkansas, the youngest of 12." he began as the 'thing' was passed to another participant. "My dad worked in a mill. Nothing special about the way we grew up; just poor folks. I'm sure some of you can relate to that, right?"

"Yeah." some of the participants said as Scottie walked around the locker room continuing " You know, coming out of high school, I was only 6'1", 150 pounds wet. I only received one offer, from Central Arkansas, and that was to be the team manager."

The 'thing' being passed around was then given to Naruto and it was Scottie Pippen's 1998 NBA Championship ring. Naruto looked at the ring with admiration as it had the red Bulls logo on it. "But something happened between my freshman and junior year. I caught inches."

'That happened to me too.' Naruto thought as he listened to Scottie. "Yeah, I was 6'7" and starting to feast on cats. But this ain't no Duke. This is Central Arkansas. My coach is going crazy, going broke, calling all over trying to get scouts just to come check me. But my senior year, a man named Marty Blake...Marty was known as the super scout for the NBA. He's helped out a lot of people like myself, John Stockton, Ben Wallace... He got us each into the Portsmouth Invite, which changed our lives."

"If you want it bad enough, if you're willing to sacrifice, it will find you. I got six of those to prove it." Scottie pointed at the ring that was still in Naruto's hand. Standing up Naruto gave the man his ring back as he said goodbye and left. Sitting next to the less nervous participant he spoke. "Now what's more motivating than having an NBA Championship ring right there in front of you not only that a pep talk from a Six Time NBA Champion, Hall of Famer like Scottie Pippen."

"Yeah I'm a little less nervous now."

"Good cause when legends talk you gotta listen. Like he said you gotta feast on these cats."

Naruto had to go to the Invitational to get invited to participate in the NBA Combine and he knew that some NBA team scouts will be there so he was hitting two birds with one stone. He did actually pretty good during the invite, scoring 7/9 free throws that he got from getting fouled, scoring some nice deep range shots and making a couple players stumble due to his sick handles. The scouts saw he had a lost of strengths and a few weaknesses which could be worked on.

With the show he put on at the Invitational he was invited to the combine.

"You know a lot of the General Managers and scouts that are here at this combine have had disappointing seasons. But what they see out here Steve is hope." Kevin Harlan commentated "Yeah they see who's up next. Obviously like yo said Kevin this is the who's who of basketball that are evaluating all these young men."

"Yeah there's so many great players here. So many wonderful stories, but the one that's probably been the most captivating has been about Naruto Uzumaki. We know as a kid that he had a shady background and even though lot's of people say he's rotten goods, he keeps a high head and continues to perform no matter how much pressure he got. I think with such focus and lack of distraction from the game, the scouts are probably not only interested in what he can do on the floor, but find out- is if this is actually what he's like?"

"A very focused on the goal type guy."

"Kevin look I love Naruto, I love his desire, I love his game but the scouts are wondering- the question mark- is his behavior from getting in trouble. But over these next few days, he has a chance to really impress these scouts."

"There's a lot here on the table for him. It's going to be fun to watch."

"Yeah it is Kevin I'm ready."

"Me too."

The combine was the only place for Naruto to be able to showcase his skills as since he didn't have an agent he couldn't go to team workouts as he didn't have money to travel to all the gyms for the NBA teams so he used the time to just go prepare for the draft and spend time with his aunt.

Naruto was sitting in the green room, Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, Dion Waiters and a few other guys were also there. These were seemingly the best young college players that the world had to offer.

"You nervous?" asked Harrison to Naruto, the former Junior Year of HS AAU teammates were sitting next to one another.

"Not really," answered Naruto.

"Okay full of confidence I see, so who you think goes first?" asked Barnes

"You mean besides the Brow" asked Naruto with a laugh

"I guess you're right, he's practically guaranteed to go first overall" admitted Harrison

"I think him, then Dame, then either you or me to be honest" said Naruto

"That is quite the claim" said Dion Waiters, the Syracuse hooper who was seen as a poor man's D Wade at this point.

" 'Quite a claim' I've won something you never won NCAA Championship, a Naismith Player of the Year. Do you want me to continue?" Naruto said since did this guy really think people would draft him over him.

Dion rolled his eyes and they heard David Stern barking out orders as they prepared for the draft, which was starting in a couple of minutes.

Naruto and Harrison Barnes gave each other a complex handshake and parted ways.

Naruto returned to his table where his blonde hair Aunt who was like 56 but looked 29 was waiting.

"Aunty T" greeted Naruto with Tsunade with a tight hug.

"Naruto" she exclaimed as she returned the hug, crushing Naruto's giant form with her slender arms.

"I'm so proud of you" said Tsunade as the hug broke and the two of them sat down at his table and the draft started.

"Hello welcome to the 2012 NBA Draft on ESPN hosted by myself (Jay Bilas), Rece Davis, Stephen A Smith, and guest Jalen Rose" said Bilas.

Bilas turned to the group of men around him and said "Who do we see being special in this draft?"

Davis scoffed "Anthony Bleeping Davis, 6 foot 11 inches of pure dominance from Kentucky, he can handle the ball, guard both the ball handler and the roller at the same time with that wingspan, he is an amazing shot blocker. He's the best player in this draft hands down"

Stephen A rolled his eyes "Try not to state the obvious next time, everyone knows he can play. But I got my eye on Dame Lillard from Weber State, he has range and can finish, a handle and is hungry."

Bilas nodded "I like both of them but what about a guy like Dion Waiters from Syracuse or Bradley Beal from University of Florida? Both are elite scoring options at the off guard position"

Stephen A nodded "My cohost Skip likes Bradley Beal to go top 3, but I think we should pump the breaks. Andre Drummond is a big that the Wizards can use to pair with John Wall for years to come, I can't see the hornets taking a guard when they have Kemba in place, they need a forward or Center as well"

Rose shook his head "You brought up a Florida boy in Beal, but there's a certain Blue Devil you need to bring up. Naruto Uzumaki, a 6'4 Point Guard from Duke. He has Chris Paul/ Steve Nash like court vision and shot 46.8 percent from 3 this past year. If I wanted to bank my draft on anyone outside of Anthony Davis, I am aiming for this kid. He is 19 Years old, athletic and smart, when I say smart I mean smart with a 4.0 GPA in Accounting Sciences!"

Stephen A shook his head "He's a tremendous talent and smart I mean 4.0 GPA that's really impressive, but he has too many question marks off the court for me to make him the face of any franchise at this point"

Rose snorted "You're talking about events from what? 5? 6? maybe 7 years ago? Stephen A, learn to let go and judge a man by what he's doing now. Naruto Uzumaki is going to be the steal of the draft at any pick other than 1st"

Bilas clapped his hands and said "I agree, we rarely get guards that big with the ability to shoot, pass, and finish. Defensively he's iffy, but who isn't coming out of college where they protect their top players by hiding them in zone defenses."

Davis cut in "I am between you two and Stephen A Smith, I don't want to hand the keys of my franchise to someone who I don't trust, but I get the feeling that if put in the right situation, the right scenario, Naruto could prove himself to be that player. The issue is that if he's as good as we say he is, how is he going to land in an organization that will be be able to give him what he needs?"

Stephen A nodded, "That's my point. Unless he goes to the Hornets where MJ, THE GOAT! Can watch over him, he is going to find himself being surrounded by yesmen who will make him feel himself a little too much"

Rose shook his head, "You don't know that"

Stephen A Smith shrugged "The burden is on him to prove me wrong based on his past"

The four men bickered and argued for several more minutes before the view cut to David Stern who was standing at the podium.

"Thank you for tuning into the 2012 NBA Draft, we are proud to present the Brooklyn Nets for the first time as moved from New jersey to Brooklyn. This draft is full of talented and remarkable young men who the league is happy to have" said Stern

"Without further ado, with the first pick in the 2012 NBA draft" continued Stern, "The New Orleans Hornets have selected Anthony Davis, the freshmen from Kentucky"

Anthony Davis stood up from this table, hugging everyone before accepting the hat with Hornets' logo on it and holding up 1 finger for the camera, showing pride in being the first overall pick.

Stern looked at the cards in his hand and then a tall slender man, the Deputy Commissioner of the league, Adam Silver ran out onto the stage and handed Stern a new set of cards.

"Sorry for the delay, the hold up is that things have changed slightly. There has been a trade. The Los Angeles Lakers and The Charlotte Bobcats have made a trade. Andrew Bynum, both the 55th and 60th picks of this year's draft and a 2014 1st round pick have been traded to the Bobcats for this year's 2nd overall pick and Tyrus Thomas" explained Stern as the logo behind him change into a large purple and gold Lakers one.

"With the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 Draft, The Los Angeles Lakers have selected Naruto Uzumaki, the Sophomore Point Guard from Duke University." said Stern

Naruto exploded out of his seat and yelled loudly before wrapping his aunt in a tight hug before grabbing the Lakers cap offered to him and running up to the stage to shake Stern's hand.

On twitter people began to go crazy not because of Naruto but because of his Aunt. My guy people thought that she was even his sister and most were literally mouth watering over her Naruto just sighed heavily didn't these guys know she was old enough to be their mother. Anyway he celebrated with his Aunt until his new GM called him and said that he had to come to LA, ASAP like as in yesterday.

The Next Day:

Stephen A Smith sat across from Skip Bayless with Cari Champion in between them.

"Welcome to First Take, there is a lot of things to come from the NBA draft last night, the biggest being that the Purple and Gold have decided to tap Naruto Uzumaki, a 19 year old PG from Duke University to be the next face of the franchise by trading All Star Center Andrew Bynum and 3 total draft picks to the Bobcats for the 2nd overall pick to be able to draft the kid. Gentlemen, what do we think of this?" asked Cari

Skip was the first to go, the elder white man on the set smiled and said "I think the Lakers actually nailed this pick"

Stephen A groaned and Skip said "It's my turn Stephen A, let me get my points out before you decide to bury him"

"Listen, a year ago, the CP3 trade to the Lakers was vetoed. Why because it was going to be UNFAIR to give Kobe Bean Bryant that kind of help. But guess what? The Lakers went out and got the next best thing. 21.1 ppg/6.1 assists per game/ 4.2 rebounds per game/1.4 blocks per game/4.3 steals per game on 56/46.8/90 splits!" said Skip before he pounded his fist on the table "Can I interest you in that?"

Stephen A nodded seemingly with a great deal of reluctance.

"Then help me understand what is not to love? A point guard who can score close to 22 a game, has a 6 to 2 assist to turnover ratio. Sure he's an eh defender but nobody plays defense anymore. So, what is not to love? The Lakers just stole a star, I think he's going to be better than Anthony Davis, I love his motor" claimed Skip

Stephen A Smith sighed and said "You made a very decent point, but I have to unload on my beloved Lakers and my good friend Kobe. Put the camera on me, I don't want no damn split screen"
