Bakuten Medical Centre was a flurry of activity on that Friday morning. Ambulance sirens wailed intermittently and nursing staff guided gurneys in and out of wards.

A young woman was pacing up and down the corridors outside the Intensive Care ward. Her long brown hair was hastily swept back in a messy bun and her brown eyes were currently bloodshot. A young man of 25 leaned against the nearest window frame watching the restless brunette. His boyishly handsome face was currently creased with worry. He knew that his friend hadn't slept a wink all night and had only consumed a few cups of weak tea and biscuits. He walked up to the woman placing a comforting hand over her shoulder. "Hilary, you should get some rest. You've been here for hours, haven't eaten much and you could probably use a shower too" he added pointedly. Hilary leaned into his embrace. "I can't Tyson. I can't leave him in there all alone. Without knowing if he's okay". Tyson nodded. "I get it Hils, but there isn't much we can do at the moment. Besides, he is in safe hands. The doctors here are the best in all of Tokyo".

Hilary looked up into the former World Champion's face. Gone were the days of his former glory. These days Tyson was teaching martial arts at his old family dojo whilst caring for his beloved grandpa who had been bedridden for the past couple of years. He also occasionally stepped in as a trainer at the BBA if he could find the time. But inspite of it all, he still managed to keep a smile on his face and a spring to his step. His ever positive attitude and contagious optimism had drawn her to him when they were children. And it's what continued to inspire her even in her darkest moments.

"Go take a nap at the dojo, Hils. It's closer to the hospital and I can stay here for the time being" Tyson offered. Hilary was about to respond when a nurse walked out through the ward doors calling out for a Ms. Tachibana. Hilary shot out of Tyson's embrace and rushed up to her.

"Ms Tachibana, he is awake and has been requesting to see you. But I must warn you that he is still very weak. Try not to stress him out" the nurse said as she led Hilary and Tyson through the double doors of the Intensive Care Unit.
