"ANDROIDS?!"

In the usually calm green plains, close to My Paozu, a furious cry had been made by the only disgruntled housewife for miles.

Chichi was breathing erratically and shook with pure rage as she gazed at her husband, Son Goku. "Let me get this straight, You die after attempting to save our son and failing, you come back a year later only to get yourself nearly killed again, then as soon as you recover, you go to some planet that eventually blows up, and you didn't even let the dragon bring you back... And now you want to take Gohan away from his studies for three whole years to fight some robots?!"

Goku was a bit nervous from her rage "But ... Chichi, the whole Earth could be at stake! We need all the help we can get!"

"He's just a boy, Goku! You may have been raised in the woods with that warrior mentality but I will NOT allowy son to turn into a fighter like his father!" Chichi exclaimed

Gohan simply sat in his bed sadly. It seems like all his mom and dad did was argue. And hey, he wasn't dumb. He could tell when things weren't working out. But Gohan understood his dad's position, Goku always looked at the bigger picture. Save every single person you can and then do whatever you want.

"Chichi." Goku stayed calmly "This isn't about being anything mental. This is about defending the earth and all who live on it. I... I'm sorry I'm not the perfect husband you want but this is who I am."

Chichi scowled, she went and got herself a glass of water to try and help her think straight.

Goku stepped a bit closer to her "I promise you we'll come and visit. That's not a problem, but if we don't do everything in our power to stop these androids... A lot of people are going to die."

She was starting to get sick of feeling ignored "... What's more important, Goku. Keeping your family happy, or tearing us apart like this..." Chichi stated coldly

Goku then said exactly what Gohan was thinking at that moment "Well... You're the only one torn about this."

Chichi snapped her body in his direction. "You think Gohan wants to fight some stupid robots?!"

"I think Gohan wants to protect the Earth." Goku retorted

Chichi was about to yell again until both parents heard a door creak open. Gohan had now made his presence known. "D-Dad's right, Mom..."

Chichi's eyes snapped wide open. "Are you... defending your father's actions?"

Gohan nervously nodded his head yes as Goku smiled.

Chichi took a deep breath "All I've ever wanted was for us to be a normal family, isn't that what you want, Gohan?"

Gohan gulped "I don't know about all that but... I just want to protect the Earth and all my friends..."

Goku was extremely proud of Gohan right now. These decisions were very hard to make, but Gohan had seen things no child his age ever should have, and he took it in stride.

"... Get out." Goku and Gohan looked at Chichi's face until she finally burst "Get out!" Chichi started throwing things at Goku. Obviously wanting him to leave. Goku looked to Gohan sadly before exiting the the house.

Chichi had finally started calming down "Finally..."

Gohan however, walked to the front door "I'm going with him... B-Bye Mom..."

Chichi quickly looked at the door only to see he was gone. She ran outside and looked around before finding two white trails of energy soaring through the sky. Collapsing onto her knees, she tried comprehending what she'd just done.

Gohan finally caught up with his father who was a bit surprised "Gohan?! What are you doing here?" Goku asked

Gohan looked down a bit "...I'm not gonna sit back and watch everyone give it their all as I try to figure out math. We've gotta save the world!"

Goku smiled wide at him and flew closer to him to give him a mid-flight hug. Gohan chuckled as he tried remembering the last time his father had really embraced him.

"Thank you, Gohan. I know that wasn't easy for you to do but just know that I'm very proud of you." Goku gave a thumbs up to his son

Gohan smiled "Th-Thanks dad... So uhh where are we going?"

Goku looked forward "We're going to get some advice from the smartest person I know"

-Capsule Corporation

Bulma was currently swimming in the pool behind her house. Just standing in the water seemed to calm all of her nerves a bit. She suddenly let out a breath she didn't know she was holding "... So now it's Androids huh?..." She looked up at the clear blue sky. "Wonder if this saving the world stuff is ever gonna end..." She saw two white trails in the sky and grew curious. However, curiousity quickly turned to fear once she saw them coming straight forward to her.

She was about to get out of the pool until she heard someone speak "Hiya Bulma!" She looked at the towards the trails only to see Goku and Gohan coming at her. They stopped just before the pool and Bulma felt a bit awkward being in her bikini in front of Goku and Gohan.

Bulma sank into the water to hide herself a bit "H-Hey guys! What's up?"

Goku rubbed the back of his head "I was hoping you could give me some... Advice."

Bulma raised an eyebrow to that.

After getting dressed, she lead the boys into the spacious living room area. She noticed though, that Gohan hadn't been smiling like usual and once they started talking... It was all very clear.

"Chichi... Kicked you guys out?" Bulma said surprised that those words even left her lips.

Goku nodded "Seems like it. This all happened so suddenly that I didn't know who else to turn to"

Bulma sighed "Well... I'm guessing you guys want a place to train right? Sorry but the prince of all pride has been demanding we make him a gravity room that rivals the one you trained in."

Gohan chuckled "Sounds like Vegeta"

Goku frowned a bit "Maybe I could go ask Master Roshi if we can stay with him for a while."

"And do what? Eat the old man out of house and home? Come on Goku. You know there's only one option here" Bulma stood up

"I do?" Goku asked quizzically

Bulma nodded "You both are just gonna live here for a while"

Goku was shocked "Are you sure? We don't wanna bug you or anything"

Bulma sighed "Goku. It's the least I can do, trust me." She winked at him then walked off as Goku tilted his head "I'll get two rooms set up for you guys. Maybe go and train out the the woods for a while okay?"

Gohan got up and hugged her "Thanks Bulma. Today's been so weird! Thank you for being so kind."

Bulma chuckled softly as she hugged back"Anything for you, kid"

Gohan started making his way to the door but froze when he saw his father whisper something into Bulma's ear. She gave him a look of understanding and nodded before Goku ran to Gohan.

"Ready to go?" Goku asked

Gohan nodded "What was that all about?"

Goku sighed "I'll tell you on the way to training. Now let's go find Piccolo okay?"

Gohan nodded and followed his father's lead out the building.

Bulma watched them go as Goku's words flashed in her mind 'Can you give me some advice about what to do later? Chichi and I are always fighting and Gohan gets scared. I don't know what to do...'. At the time, she nodded in agreement to help but... The more she thought on it, the more she questioned if it was even possible to help them in this situation.

"WOMAN!" Vegeta's voice broke her concentration "Why are you just standing around?! Shouldn't you be helping that old man with the gravity machine!?!"

"First off, NEVER talk to me like that." Bulma gave him an icy stare "Second, stay out of my business. And third, if you want anything from me you're gonna have to abide by the rules here, so sit down and take a chill pill. I've got work to do."

Vegeta grabbed her arm as she walked past him "... That scent... Kakarot was here?!"

"What are you? A dog?" Bulma questioned

"Where is he?" Vegeta asked seriously

"He went training with Gohan. They're gonna be staying with me for a little while, so get used to it." She pulled her arm away and went to go fix up the spare rooms and have robots help her.

Vegeta grunted "Now I have to deal with that annoying woman and that clown of a Saiyan."

After fixing up both rooms, Bulma went to the kitchen to see Mrs. Briefs preparing dinner. "Hey, mom"

"Well, hello deary! I noticed you weren't in the lab with ya fatha today. Everything okay?" Mrs. Briefs replied

Bulma sighed "Well... To make a long story short, is it okay if Goku and Gohan stay with us for a little while?"

Mrs. Briefs gasped "Really?! That hunk Goku and his cute son need a place to stay? Of course it's okay. Why not Chichi though?"

Bulma took a deep breath and explained the situation to her mother

"I see..." Mrs Briefs commented in understanding "Ya know. I think Chichi can be a little too rough sometimes. What parent wouldn't want their kid to use the gifts they were given?"

"That's the least of the problems, Mom. The biggest problem is that Goku and Vegeta will both be here! They could level the city!" Bulma replied to which her mother scoffed

"Oh please. They need us to make food, besides, Goku is pretty well mannered. And you seem to have Vegeta wrapped around ya finga"

Bulma was taken aback "Huh?"

"I saw you talk to him earlier" Mrs Briefs mentioned "Looked like you put him in his place."

Bulma chuckled "I can only hope..."

Mrs Briefs smiled and set a plate of food in front of her "Just be yourself, dear. Everything will turn out fine"

Bulma smiled "Thanks Mom"

Meanwhile, on the way to Piccolo.

"So that's what you asked Bulma." Gohan stated, having heard Goku's explanation

Goku looked puzzled "I just don't know what to do, Gohan. I want to protect Earth and be a good father and husband but... "

"I get it, Dad. It's a lot of responsibility. Bulma could probably help you figure it out though." Gohan acknowledged

Goku looked at Gohan curiously "Hey, Gohan... Do you miss your mother?"

Gohan thought about it for a second "Kinda? I don't miss her getting angry all the time. Why?"

Goku sighed "Just thinking..."

Gohan then thought of something "... Can't you just teleport us to Piccolo?"

Goku chuckled "Yeah but I wanted to know if you were okay. Not good to train if you're distracted."

Gohan smiled "Thanks Dad but I'm okay."

Goku laughed but ... He wished he could day the same for himself...

After a long day full of focus and training, the boys finally returned to Capsule Corporation. Gohan had a pretty rough day seeing as it's been quite a bit since he last trained, plus it was nighttime now and the poor kid had almost passed out on the battlefield until Goku caught him and called it a day.

When Goku walked through the doors he noticed Bulma turn to them from the couch where she was watching TV.

Bulma looked horrified as she saw the rips and tares in their clothing. "Goku! What happened? Is this just from training?"

Goku nodded shyly "Yeah ... We might have overdone it today hehe"

Bulma sighed "Come on, I'll show you to your guy's rooms"

Goku followed her to a single bedroom

"This is Gohan's room" Bulma stated

Goku gently put him on the bed and kissed his forehead "Rest well, Gohan."

Bulma couldn't prevent the smile that formed on her face after seeing this show of affection.

She then guided Goku to another room, a very plain and almost empty room except for some common furniture. "This is your room. Didn't think you'd need anything special."

Goku smiled and sat on the bed "It's perfect, Bulma!"

Bulma walked in and closed the door behind her. "Now... Did you still wanna talk?"

Goku's entire expression shifted into one of discomfort "I... Yeah..."

Seeing Goku like this made Bulma sad, she could tell that something was really bothering him, something much more complicated than fighting an opponent. Goku had always been so confident, ready for any situation that came his way. To see that confident flame be put out... It hurt her.

"So... What's up?" She sat next to him on the bed and caressed a hand up and down his back.

"... It's Chichi..." Goku grunted "I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. I want to be a good husband and father but... We have to save the planet. I just don't get why this is so hard for her to understand."

Bulma chuckled a bit "I think I understand. Chichi wants you both to live a normal lives, right? Unfortunately, she married an alien without even realizing it."

"What does marriage have to do with it?" Goku questioned.

Bulma nearly facepalmed "Marraige means compromises, Goku. You guys have to agree to disagree on stuff."

Goku rested his head in his hands "But... That never happens... She just yells and yells until I either run off and do something anyway or fall in line."

"Well, she does do a lot for you. More than any normal housewife would." Bulma smirked "I dunno. Guess I'm used to it cause I grew up with you."

"You're also more understanding..." Goku added, which surprised Bulma

"How so?" Bulma asked

"You've always been patient with me, you've trusted me no matter how crazy I was at the time. You always supported me in everything I did. You've been there for me when not many others were and honestly..." He smiled and looked right at her "If you didn't get me off that mountain I wouldn't have any friends... Including my best friend... You, Bulma"

Bulma blushed lightly, taken aback by what he said "Goku, I ..."

Goku then yawned "Oh man, sorry to talk your ear off. I guess I was holding back more than I realized"

Bulma suddenly hugged him "... Thank you, Goku..."

Goku slowly wrapped his arms around her "No problem, Bulma"

Bus then got up and opened one of the drawers "I don't have any Gi's for you but I did get some basic clothes for you and Gohan so you don't have to wear rags"

Goku nodded "Thanks again, Bulma. For everything"

Bulma was about to exit the room then looked back at him "Goodnight Goku, sleep well"

"You too, Bulma. Night!" Goku responded cheerily

Once both of them laid down to rest in their beds. They couldn't stop thinking about what had been said. Eventually though, they found comfort in being able to see each other tomorrow, finally allowing them to embrace the rest they deserved.
