Izuku Midoriya: City Hunter

Hello and welcome to NEW experimental fanfic of Boku no Hero Academia, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, and for the first time, I will be incorporating a combination of action-adventure and suspense elements here as I find it quite challenging, as most of my other Hero Academia fics are purely romantic and comedic, and here this is where I will put the characters of this series to the test.

This came on the heels of season 4 of My Hero Academia, which recently ended, while working on my other Hero Academia fics, I was surfing Youtube when I came across a Jackie Chan movie, which I checked it out, and learned that the movie he starred in is based on the manga of the same name – City Hunter.

After watching the movie, this inspired me to make a Hero Academia version and that's where Midoriya comes in, and having watched the Shie Hassaikai arc previously, it clicked as he will be doing a work Study that involves a search and retrieve-type assignment…which you'll soon find out once you read this chapter…

Ch. 1: Prologue

Japan.

The country that is located within South East Asia, quite near different Asian countries such as China, Taiwan and the Philippines, is seen and that country is ruled by the Diet, and are handled by the Emperor and the Prime Minister. After their defeat at World War II, the country began to change for the better, and for several decades Japan vastly improved, mostly in the technological department yet their culture and values remained the same, as most Japanese citizens remained hospitable to visitors, residents and tourists alike.

The scene then zoomed further and you can see that the scene shows that the place being shown is Tokyo, which is bustling with people who are walking the busy streets, some riding vehicles, and others riding on bicycles. There are several types of people seen on the streets; adults, children, and even infants being carried by their parents. Businessmen, businesswomen, students, policemen, all kinds of persons are seen, and they were doing their usual activities as if they do not mind it.

Shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.

"Hey!"

"Nice day, isn't it?"

"Today is a good day..."

"I love my job..."

"Life is so good..."

"I wish I have a good day..."

"Lots of money..."

"Lots of girls..."

The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality. You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.

"Hello...please by our items..."

"They are cheaper..."

"...they are in good working condition..."

"You can try them if you like..."

"I promise you will like them..."

"I promise you will get your money's worth..."

"Here are the items on our display..."

"Pick the one you like..."

The area in question turns out to be Akihabara, and the area is thriving and many merchants set up shops to attract passing customers and entice them to buy their products by showing the items and offered cheaper prices while assuring them that the items are in good working condition, and their marketing strategy worked as some passing customers were intrigued after hearing that so e gadgets are being sold in cheaper prices, and they began asking the merchants what itens do they sell, and the merchants showed to the customers the items they are selling, ranging from smartphones to android tablets and even laptops.

Then the scene shifts to another nearby shop, where a merchant is also selling second-hand items, but unlike the other shops, this merchant is selling something else and is catering avid collectors, and the scene shifts inside the shop where you can see the items being sold, which turn out to be classic console units and games, all being displayed on the shelves, and one by one you can see the following consoles being on display, which are:

- Nintendo Famicom

- Super Famicom

- Sega Mega Drive

- Game Boy Color

- Game Boy Advance

- Neo Geo

- Sony Playstation

- Sega Saturn

- Nintendo 64

In a matter of minutes customers passed by the shop, and most of them are avid collectors and fans of video games, and they were immediately intrigued by the items on display and they looked at the items, as some appeared to be unaware that such classical consoles actually existed, and they began asking the merchants if those consoles and its games are really something to be owned, which the merchant nodded and assured to them that the classic games are RARE, and are fun to play with, saying that even with popular games today that are released on current consoles such as the Sony Playstation 4, the Microsoft X-Box One and the Nintendo Wii, the consoles on display are even COOLER due to its nostalgia factor.

The scene shifts somewhere at Hosu, where you can see the financial district of that area, where corporate buildings are seen, and many employers and employees are walking about, which shows how busy the area is, consisting of corporate companies, call centers and the like, and the scene shifts inside one of the corporate buildings, where you can see a businessman inside his office, attending to one of his many businesses, where he appeared to be in his mid-30's.

While he appeared to be a workaholic and dedicated man, he seemed to be having quite a stress which is due to what appeared to be a domestic problem in his personal life, as it is shown that he is a widower and a single parent, where it is revealed that he lost his wife years ago and that he has been raising his only child, who is a teenage girl around age 16.

The businessman is revealed to be a well-known media magnate who owns a powerful media corporation that is well-known all over Japan, and he appeared to have a considerable reputation and influence to certain personalities from the business, showbiz and political world. He is identified as Koji Imumura, and he is currently overseeing the operation of his corporation.

By then his telephone rang, where the caller is revealed to be one of Mr. Imumura's housemaids, and there she revealed that Mr. Imumura's daughter, identified as Shizuko, has ran away, and there he became quite stressed at his only child's rebellious attitude.

"Shizuko ran off, you say?"

"Yes, sir."

"Goodness."

"Shall I call the police?"

"No. Do not…"

"Sir?"

"We'll try a different approach."

"…"

He then instructed his housemaid to try contacting any of Shizuko's friends and find out if she went there in an effort to track her down. After that, he thought carefully as he is sure that Shizuko would hide to any of her friends' houses, but then also deduced that she would try to hide anywhere and felt that the police might not be enough to catch her given how crafty she can be due to her background as a well-known gymnast.

He then recalled something as he played a previous footage and watched it, where he saw an archive footage where several pro heroes have successfully defeated the Shie Hassaikai several weeks ago, and it showed a lot of pro heroes and UA students involved, and among the ones that Mr. Imumura saw is the Nighteye Agency, where he saw Mirio Togata and Izuku Midoriya, who are being carried to the ambulances.

Upon seeing Midoriya, Mr. Imumura recalled that he saw the boy at the live telecast of the UA Sports Festival months ago, and felt that the boy might make do in CONVINCING and PERSUADING Shizuko to come home, and he began to rub his chin as he needed to come up with a right approach to offer Midoriya something so that the boy would find the offer too irresistible to refuse.

Mr. Imumura's secretary came and saw this and asked what does he have in mind, which he said that his daughter has ran away and felt that Midoriya might be the right person to bring Shizuko home and is planning to make an offer which would entice Midoriya to accept his plea for help.

"You really believe that the boy from UA High would be the right person for this job, sir?"

"Yes."

"How?"

"Being a teenager himself, I'm sure that Shizuko would entertain him."

"Seriously, sir?"

"Yes. I am sure."

"How?"

"You see…"

Imumura's secretary appeared skeptical and asked what makes him sure that Midoriya is the right person for the job, and he revealed that he has been keeping a close eye on Midoriya since the UA Sports Festival, and he showed that after the defeat of Shie Hassaikai, the Nighteye Agency is starting to gain traction as numerous persons have contacted the agency for help in solving cases, and said that Midoriya has been involved in solving these cases.

Imumura also revealed that Midoriya has been reported to have taken down a lot of criminal gangs from one place to another, and even ended up going to certain areas in and out of Hosu, and when the criminals were arrested he is given praise and brought prestige and honor to UA High, and because of these exploits, several media reporters gave Midoriya the nickname of City Hunter due to him going to different cities in and out of Hosu.

Thus, Imumura believe that Midoriya is the right person for the job in bringing Shizuko home and all he needed is making an offer that Midoriya would be unable to refuse.

"…and that is that…"

"I see."

"And therefore, izuku Midoriya is the right person for the job."

"Perhaps, but will he be willing to help you?"

"I'm sure he would if given the right offer and the right approach…"

"Hmm…"

"Do you have any current information about Mr. Midoriya?"

"As you can see, sir…"

The secretary nodded and tells him that as of now, Midoriya is still studying at UA High but summer vacation is slowly approaching, thus it is likely that the boy will go to Nighteye Agency for work, and Imumura nodded as he would need to formulate a plan to lure Midoriya to come to the corporate building so he can speak to Midoriya.

The secretary then offered to assist her boss in coming up with a way to contact Nighteye Agency and enlist Midoriya's presence, and Imumura nodded, saying that any ideas are welcomed as he needed to get his daughter back as soon as possible.

"Yes. anything."

"I'll come up with an alibi to convince Nighteye Agency to send Mr. Midoriya here…"

"Yes, yes…please do."

"I'll let you know once things are in place."

"Good."

"And when the schedule would be arranged…"

"Very good."

"…"

At Hosu, a few days later, it was summer vacation, and classes at UA went on a break, and there Midoriya has free time and went to work at Nighteye Agency, where it is currently being run by Centipeder, with Bubble Girl assisting, and the two greeted Midoriya, as they were pleased that their agency has gained considerable reputation thanks to Midoriya's efforts in the recent weeks, and tells him that during summer vacation they arranged a place for him to stay so that he would be near the agency office.

Midoriya nodded and said it is no problem, and thus things are in agreement and Bubble Girl said that they've been receiving offers and tells Midoriya to be ready for anything, which the younger boy nodded in agreement.

"…so be ready, Midoriya-kun…"

"Yes, Bubble Girl."

"We might get some offers…and we don't know how tough the next assignment would be."

"I understand."

"But you can pull through, right, Midoriya?"

"Right."

"Good. Just be ready."

"I will."

Then the phone rang and Bubble Girl answered, where moments later she stared wide-eyed and she became punctual and talked for a few minutes, and later she told Centipeder and Midoriya that the caller turns out to be Koji Imumura, and the two guys stared in surprise at this, as they did not expect the well-known media magnate to call this agency, and Bubble Girl revealed that Imumura wanted to have a meeting with Midoriya personally, which the younger boy stared in surprise.

"Eh? Me?"

"Yes, you!"

"A meeting with…Mr. Imumura…personally?"

"Yeah! He wants to meet you in person!"

"Wha…why would he…?"

"I bet he's a fan…he must have watched your matches at the recent UA Sports Festival!"

"Uh…still…why would he…?"

"This must be a big break for you! You should go for it, Midoriya!"

Elsewhere, the scene shifts at a park, where some UA students are seen dining there and assembled as they have a meeting of sorts, which is Saturday today, and the students seen assembled are identified as:

- Momo Yaoyorozu

- Ochako Uraraka

- Mina Ashido

- Itsuka Kendo

- Denki Kaminari

- Minoru Mineta

- Mei Hatsume

- Yugo Aoyama

There the UA students are having a snack, and it is shown that Yaoyorozu has invited her classmates and Kendo to meet with her as she revealed that she was given complimentary tickets to board a prestigious cruise liner which will travel all over Japan for at least three days, which they can stay there with free dining and other things (like free use of swimming pools, gyms and the like).

Yaoyorozu said that she has at least nine tickets and offered them to her classmates and Kendo, which they all accepted, and both Kaminari and Mineta were ecstatic, as they are sure that they would get to see lots of attractive girls in bikini and sexy dresses, and the two boys are fantasizing about being in a ship filled with sexy harems.

"A cruise ship…"

"In the middle of the sea…"

"I can imagine it, Mineta…"

"Yeah…a ship filled with girls in bikini…"

"I think I'm in heaven already…"

"Me too…"

"Let's get ready…"

"Right, Kaminari…"

The girls sweat-dropped at this and there Yaoyorozu said that she has one more ticket vacant, and asked if there is anyone who deserves this ticket, and Uraraka raised her hand, saying she knows someone who might deserve it, and she grabbed the ticket, saying she is off to see someone, which the others wondered, while Ashido grinned as she has an idea on who Uraraka is referring to.

The other girls asked Ashido who that person is, as they are curious to know who the person Uraraka is offering the ticket to.

"You know who, Ashido?"

"Really?"

"Who is it?"

"Come on…"

"Tell us!"

"We want to know!"

"Hurry…"

"Tell us who…"

Hope you liked this opening chapter, as it served as an introductory part where the setting and the plot is being prepared…which Midoriya is being groomed for a new assignment for Nighteye Agency, whilst the girls of UA are getting ready to book a cruise ship vacation via the free tickets…
