Hello and welcome to my first experimental fanfic of Naruto, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, which began when I came across an upcoming series by accident when I happened to come across an article on Facebook, and out of curiosity I checked it on Wikipedia and while the information is limited, I searched the article on Google for more info.

This is about the upcoming TV show, titled Kamen Rider Geats, in which it feature themes about battle royal and survival, which is said to be inspired from online games such as Fortnite Battle Royal and Apex Legends, and there I happened to see the picture of the titular character, which he looked cool, and though the synopsis is limited at the time, I sort of like the idea of a battle royal-themed scenario.

Another source of inspiration is the Naruto franchise, in which I find it somewhat similar to Geats, in which both series have a fox motif, and similar theme in terms of multiple groups and such, though this would be my first time doing a Naruto fic even though this series is already 20-years old. This is because that since I started doing fanfictions I was comfortable with modern settings (buildings, vehicles, technology, bustling cities), as at that time I wasn't ready to do fanfics with settings based on non-modern areas, like Konoha.

Since the first Naruto anime series began re-airing on Animax-Asia two months ago, I started re-watching it and so far I slowly got the hang of it. Since Naruto Shippuden and later, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, began to feature some technological aspects, such as electric posts and Flat-screen TV, it still lacked other aspects such as main cities and vehicles.

So in this fic this would be an AU set in the modern world with modern settings, though I would use some of the settings of Naruto, such as Konoha being a province and such.

And while Kamen Rider Geats is set to premiere this September 4, I think I'll be able to cover this fic given that I update my fics on a monthly basis, and once the source material that I'm using is available, then I will use those elements in making this story, hence for now I will be using an original opening that would help in making this plot.

And since I will be using elements from Kamen Rider Geats, I sort of ran into a roadblock due to lack of business-type characters, and after some consideration, I will be using some select characters from another manga/anime series, My Hero Academia, but the characters slated to appear will only have minor and support roles, and thus they be subjected to change, and lastly this fic will be AU.

Ch. 1: Prologue

Deika City.

A city in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan. Deika is a city in the mountains, so its entrance and exit routes are limited and can easily be manipulated by the army. It's described as a city surrounded by nature, making it look like a provincial city of sorts that is quite far from the main city, which makes it an ideal place for nature lovers and people who wished to experience something different.

However, unbeknownst to the majority of the inhabitants of Aichi Prefecture, Deika City is a "Liberated District" where 90% of the inhabitants, including the pro heroes, are soldiers for liberation. This is because the inhabitants are opposed to the majority law where Quirk usage by people are restricted, meaning that people with Quirk cannot use them in public even if it is for everyday use regardless of intention.

Only licensed pro heroes are allowed to use their Quirks, which caused some to resent the law as they felt that they are being oppressed and their rights being unjustly trampled. This is due to the law being passed by the Hero Public Safety Commission, as they sought to CONTROL society in a discreet way to maintain order and status quo.

The inhabitants of Deika City are doing their everyday life and while day-to-day activities and operations appeared normal, some were watching the online news on their mobile phones and are rather incensed that pro heroes are being reveled by people who seem to ignore the plight of the less-privileged, such as the Quirkless and those who have inhuman appearances.

"Those city dwellers…"

"What a society of idiots…"

"They have no shame…"

"Or rather, they have no souls…"

"Can't they feel sorry for those who are being oppressed…?"

"That's their true color…they're a bunch of selfish people…"

"Unlike us…"

"Glad Deika City is different from them…"

The inhabitants are even pissed that the likes of Endeavor is being cheered on despite his uncharismatic appearance and attitude, and All Might, who they believed that he is ignoring the plight of the less-privileged as he never brought this in public despite his charisma and reputation as the current number one pro hero.

"Endeavor is an asshole…"

"A flaming braggart…"

"He thinks he owns the world…"

"All Might is even worse…"

"He didn't even said anything about the oppressed…the ones without Quirks and those mutant-types…"

"I can't believe people are fawning over those two…"

"They're idiots…"

"Brainless assholes…"

Among the inhabitants are some people who appeared to be charismatic and are the ones who rallied the Deika City inhabitants to FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS, which caused many people to follow them as they sees these charismatic persons as the ones who would represent them and their rights to use their Quirks freely with no restriction.

These person are:

- Tomoyasu Chikazoku, aka Skeptic, is a board member at Feel Good, Inc;

- Koku Hanabata, aka Trumpet, is the leader of the Hearts and Mind Party;

- Chitose Kizuki, aka Curious, is the executive director of Shoowaysha Publishing, in charge of reprint the Meta Liberation War.

As these people are overseeing Deika while amassing lots of followers, from citizens and even some pro heroes, one of the pro heroes came and talked to Hanabata and Kizuki, telling them that he happened to stumble across some people at the main city and saw them getting engrossed with an online game called Fortnite Battle Royal, and even saw the gamers taunting the Quirkless and the like.

"Huh?"

"Fortnite you say…?"

"Yes, Trumpet…Curious…"

"What does that have to do…"

"Wait, Trumpet…let's hear him out…"

"…and that's what I find out…"

"Really…?"

"You sure…?"

"Yeah…"

Out of curiosity, Hanabata checked this online game, and though he finds this Fortnite game quite popular due to its theme of battle royal and the like, he saw lots of chat-like online comments where players mocked other players who are exposed as Quirkless and other factors, and even read an online comment saying that one day when he gets a Quirk the basher and troll will be sorry.

This caused Hanabata to get a spontaneous idea and told Chikazoku and Kizuki that he is going to the main city and speak to someone, saying that he came up with an idea to attract a NEW GENERATION OF FOLLOWERS and POTENTIAL GUINEA PIGS to use against the status quo and the POWERS-THAT-BE within the hero society.

"Are you serious?"

"Do you have an idea, Trumpet

"Yup. And I'm sure that my idea would work…"

"Heh, fine. Just make sure you won't end up regretting…"

"Looks like you're confident…"

"I am. Well, see you later."

"Good luck."

Detnerat Company.

Detnerat is a company dedicated to the production of lifestyle support items.

With the proliferation of Quirks, especially those that cause remarkable physical changes in people, the standardized system of mass production since the industrial revolution was no longer suitable. Given the situation, Detnerat emerged as a company specialized in the production of suitable articles and items for each and every individual customer, ensuring that they can provide them with highly adapted products in just three days.

Thanks to its techniques and systems, Detnerat has risen to the top of lifestyle support manufacturing companies. Recently, the company's President and CEO, Rikiya Yotsubashi, who is secretly allied with Kizuki, Hanabata and Chikazoku, has decided to venture out into the hero support industry.

In order to improve their positioning in the Hero support industry, the company leaks its prototypes into the black market. Products leaked are designed to collect data and self-destruct so that the company cannot be found out.

Moreover, he too is spreading the hidden propaganda regarding the liberation of Quirks and the like, and he too is able to discreetly amass lots of followers to his cause without alerting the authorities and thus he is able to move freely while maintaining his daily activities without problems or risks.

The scene shifts at a meeting room where Yotsubashi had just secured a lucrative business deal with several shareholders who were enticed by Detnerat and it's business, finding it financially enticing and the shareholders agreed to do business with the company and promised that they would do joint business ventures with him.

"Thank you, gentlemen…I promise that you will not regret this…for this deal will benefit all of us financially and all…"

"You're welcome."

As the shareholders are about to leave the meeting room, Yotsubashi discreetly handed them books regarding the LIBERATION, which the shareholders innocently took it, believing that it is just a simple book, not knowing that it contain a hidden propaganda in it's theme, as they believed that Yotsubashi is a simple businessman and nothing more.

After leaving, Yotsubashi is alone and is pondering his next step when Hanabata knocked on the door and greeted Yotsubashi, in which the latter is quite surprised to see his fellow ally paying a surprise visit, and once inside Hanabata locked the door and told Yotsubashi about an idea on how to LEVEL UP their propaganda while discreetly challenging the authorities of the Hero society without exposing their group, the Meta Liberation Army.

Yotsubashi raised an eyebrow and asked Hanabata what he has in mind, seeing that he appeared to be inspired and the Detnerat CEO is all-ears when told about how to strengthen their organization's cause without risking exposure to the authorities and the Hero Public Safety Commission.

"Are you sure, Trumpet?"

"Yes, Re-Destro."

"You have an idea on how to strengthen our propaganda?"

"Yup. And more."

"Very well. Tell me what you have in mind."

"Okay. And I promise that you'll like this idea that I'm hatching…"

"Go on…tell me…"

"Its like this…"

Yotsubashi became intrigued when told that Hanabata's proposal was inspired by the Fortnite Battle Royal online game, but Hanabata smirked as he said that he got more ideas popping into his head when he brought out his smartphone and showed him download episodes of anime with similar themes, such as:

- Magical Girls Raising Project

- Puella Magi Madoka Magica

- Magical Girls Site

- Juni Taisen: Zodiac War

As Hanabata showed the clips to Yotsubashi, he told him that they should try emulating the premise while combining the elements from Fortnite Battle Royal and come up with something to entice potential GUINEA PIGS to participate and do the Meta Liberation Army's propaganda whilst enticing the sympathy of the masses by having the participants do HEROIC DEEDS which would distract the authorities from figuring out that the Meta Liberation Army is pulling the strings.

"Oh? You think that would work, dear Trumpet?"

"I'm pretty sure of it, Re-Destro. The ones I showed would serve as an inspiration."

"Hmm…so we need to create some sort of program…"

"Something like that, Re-Destro!"

"That idea of yours sounds enticing…"

"Glad you like it…"

"Think you can contribute more…?"

"Well…"

As Yotsubashi seemed to like the idea, Hanabata then came up with additional ideas as he figured that those who are LESS-PRIVILEGED would gain the desire to be EQUAL to those who posses Quirks and want to become HEROES, and there he said that he would use the concept and create the DESIRE GRAN PRIX, and after hearing what Hanabata said, Yotsubashi became more inspired to strengthen the Liberation's cause.

"Hmm…that idea of yours is good…inspiring…"

"Really, Re-Destro?"

"Yes, I am serious!"

"For real?"

"Of course!"

"Good to hear it!"

"Then comes the next question…"

"What is it…?"

Yotsubashi then asked Hanabata how would he be able to find GUINEA PIGS to test out his proposal, and there Hanabata said that he sent some of his men to SCOUT potential participants as he intend to see how strong their desire is, as he instructed his contacts to specifically find individuals, preferably YOUNGER ONES, who may have STRONG DESIRES, that may suit the Liberation's plans.

"So that's your plan, Trumpet?"

"Yup!"

"And you think that would work?"

"It may take some time…but I'm sure it would work…"

"Very well…you do your part…I will do mine."

"Okay!"

"So are we clear?"

"You got it, Re-Destro!"

KONOHA.

Located at the Katsura District which is a neighborhood in Nishikyo-ku, in the western part of the city of Kyoto, Japan. Predominantly residential in character the district is situated and the western bank of the Katsura River. The neighborhood is renowned as the location of the Katsura Imperial Villa, a historic garden maintained by the Imperial Household Agency.

Katsura is accessible from Katsura Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line by train, and by buses offered by, among other organizations, the Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau.

A few years ago, an unspecified incident took place which caused quite a considerable damage to infrastructure and a considerable amount of casualties which the authorities somewhat managed to cover it up to avoid unwanted prying eyes from the media and the governments from the main city and even the Royal Palace, and though the recovery was slow but steady, it did came at a certain cost.

A few days later, Hanabata's henchmen were scattered all over, looking for individuals who were suffering from oppression and discrimination, and those whose desires are strong that would suit what Hanabata is plotting to do, and there one of the henchmen stumbled upon a scene where a seven-year old is being ostracized by the townsfolk for a certain reason.

They treated the innocent young boy with disdain and would throw debris and other objects at him just to make him leave, as there appeared to be a reason why the villagers showed a considerable amount of hatred towards the innocent boy even though the boy did nothing wrong against them.

"Get lost!"

"Go away!"

"You're a scourge!"

"Leave Konoha now!"

"I hope you die!"

"You don't have the right to stay here!"

"I wish that you are dead!"

"Damn brat!"

The innocent boy, who is Japanese in appearance, is sporting a yellow-blond, spiky hair and blue eyes, which, despite his Asian looks, almost mistook him for a foreigner, while inheriting the shape of his mother's eyes and face. His trademark characteristics are the three whisker markings on his cheeks, almost giving him an appearance of a fox-like motif.

He then sports a black and orange jacket, orange pants and sandals. Despite his outward appearance this little boy is kind-hearted but is emotionally harmed due to the unjust treatment from the villagers who treated him like an outcast.

This innocent little boy is identified as Naruto Uzumaki, and he is seen running away as he is being chased away by the adult villagers. They made sure that Naruto is out of sight and they will do it again if he ever shows up.

The henchmen sent by Hanabata were focused on the innocent by emotionally scarred Naruto and decided to follow him and find where he lives where the henchman decided to gather some data for future reference.

Amongst the crowd watching the misguided villagers chasing Naruto away is also a seven-year old boy, where he is seen wearing a navy blue, short-sleeved shirt with a high collar, white shorts, and, white arm warmers.

This boy is identified as Sasuke Uchiha, and he seemed to harbor something tragic and all he has in his head is to acquire POWER no matter what. The henchman noticed Sasuke's aloof but determined behavior and secretly observed and followed him to get any data out of the boy.

Another henchman is seen prowling about and stumbled upon a harsh training, where a male parent is BRUTALLY training his daughter in using martial arts, but she inherited a gentle aura which the parent disapprove it and continue the harsh training and though the little girl is already weakened from exhaustion, the parent wouldn't let up and told her to get up and continue the training until her body can no longer continue the rigid and harsh training.

"Get up, Hinata!"

"…"

"The training will continue!"

"…"

"You are my heir and you must become the next heir!"

"…"

"And therefore we will not stop until we achieve this!"

"…"

The little girl, also aged seven years old, is identified as Hinata Hyuga, and she is steadily getting weaker from exhaustion due to the harsh training from her father, until he has had enough and called for his nephew, Neji Hyuga, to spar with Hinata, and though initially reluctant, he was pressured and eventually defeated an already-exhausted but injured Hinata.

There Hinata's father deemed his daughter a failure and made it clear that she is cast away from the Hyuga clan and made it clear that she no longer have a home here, forcing some of the Hyuga relatives to bring her in.

The henchmen recorded the scenes and sent the footage to Hanabata, and there he and Yotsubashi began making plans to create the so-called Desire Gran Prix to use this as a way to challenge the Hero society and divide public opinion as a way to crush this society in secret.

Hope you liked this chapter, though there is not much action here since majority of this opening plot focuses on the Meta Liberation Army, a semi-major antagonistic group of characters from My Hero Academia, but this also showed what their intended plans are after some of their spies appeared to catch a glimpse of their potential GUINEA PIGS after seeing the likes of Naruto, Sasuke and Hinata having DESIRES to want to something.

Though the aforementioned Naruto characters are portrayed as children, they will have bigger roles in the upcoming chapters, whilst the Desire Gran Prix concept is about to take off after Trumpet gets some info and data on the potential victims to be used to further the Liberation's shady goals.
