Hello and welcome to my first experimental fanfic of Vermeil In Gold, in which a new inspiration popped into my head in an unexpected way, which began when I came across the series by accident when I happened to come across an article on Facebook, and and out of curiosity I checked it on Wikipedia and while the information is limited, I searched the article on Google for more info.
That's where I came across a manga site by accident and after reading the first few chapters the art and plot intrigued me. And as the anime arrived (with two episodes as of now), it further piqued my interest and I decided to read thr manga while awaiting for more episodes to be uploaded.
Due to its theme on magic, an idea popped into my head as another series with similar theme came to mind, which is Kamen Rider Wizard. After some careful thinking, I decided to try an experiment and see if this would attract fans who are tuning in to Vermeil In Gold, due to having magic themes and stuff.
While the anime is somewhat light and having a lot of FANSERVICE, here I will make it a bit realistic by adding some hard action scenes and a bit of violence, so expect some BLOODY moments in certain parts of the fic since it'll put more emphasis on the story.

Ch. 1: Heiwana shunkan; akuma no purotto
It was the year 2013, and the scene shifts at a bridge somewhere in Tokyo, where a young man stood there watching the scene below, where the streets are filled with people doing their usual thing, and the young man, in his early 20's, watches on as he recalled what happened to him a year ago, the events played into his head and served as a constant reminder of what he has become.
-FLASHBACK-
Sometime in 2012...
The scene shifts at an unspecified area off the coast of Tokyo, where several people of all ages are stranded, and trapped, as their bodies glowed and many are screaming in pain, which they were begging for help until one by one, their bodies EXPLODED, flesh disintegrated and the area they are standing on was covered in BLOOD.
As more and more of the victims fell victim, the numbers dwindled until a young man, who appeared to be 20 years old, is kneeling as he is bleeding, his body glowed in some kind of energy as you can see that a PAIR OF WINGS are emerging from his back, his skin is being PEELED OFF, and he is on the verge of being RIPPED APART.
However, he appeared to have a strong will and looked up in the sky, and raised his hand as if he is trying to reach something, and he slowly stood up, fighting the pain and screamed in fury and determination, showing that he has some kind of incredible strength from within.
"I...I won't...give in...! I won't...give up!"
A sudden burst of light appeared, and the young man's body glowed again, but this time nothing happened, as he remained intact, his wounds somewhat healed yet bloodstains remain on his clothing. The young man looked around and saw the remains of the victims, which were only bloodstains before something emerged, which humanoid-like entities appeared and went to different directions.
One remained and saw the young man, and approached him, intending to harm him until a magical barrier appeared and swats the attacking entity away. The young man turn around where he saw another figure, garbed in whitish armor and robes, and is carrying a young girl who appeared unconscious, in which he approached the young man and gave the girl to him.
There the mysterious figure in white armor and robe gave an unseen object to the young man and said that he is the CHOSEN ONE who will fight to protect others.
"Well done."
"Huh?"
"In spite of what you went through, you held on and survive."
"I..."
"A very admirable feat. For that, you now have the potential to become a wizard."
"Me...a wizard...?"
"Here…take these...you will need it...now that you have the potential to become a wizard."
"Is this...for real...?"
The young man stared in confusion on what is going on, but he would later find out why he survived and what the purpose of being given such a mission.
-END FLASHBACK-
The young man closed his eyes as the memory still haunts him, yet it served to give him the determination to protect those who needs it and to ensure that the would-be victims will not suffer the same fate as him.
It turns out that the mysterious figure, identified as the White Wizard, was the one who orchestrated the events, which led to the creation of the entities identified as the Phantoms, and the young man, identified as Haruto Soma, became Kamen Rider Wizard, a mahotsukai garbed in jewel-based armor, and uses his new-found magic to battle and defeat the Phantoms, which lasted throughout the year, and the White Wizard was eventually exposed as the culprit behind the abductions and the deaths, which led to a showdown which led to the innocent girl's sacrifice, and in the end, Tokyo is saved and the Phantoms eradicated.
Now Haruto is in the process of moving on and is seen traveling all over Tokyo, and along the way he passed by a food van that caters doughnuts, led by a homosexual man. The man is identified only as the Donut shop manager and waved at the passing Haruto, which caught the young man's attention.
Haruto nodded and approach the van and the donut shop manager, as the manager offered Haruto a variety of doughnuts in assorted flavors.
"Oh, Haruto…good timing! I have something new…"
"Plain sugar."
"Huh? Come on! you should try different flavors once in a while…"
"Okay."
"Yes! What will it be this time?"
"Plain sugar."
"Gyyaahh~hhh…"
"?"
The donut shop manager fell to the ground (comedy-style) as Haruto ordered for plain sugar flavor, and a dejected manager obliges, and Haruto is served with the doughnuts, and hoped that this peace would last forever.

As Haruto is enjoying the peace he is having, the scene shifts somewhere across the prefecture, an unidentified individual is seen, only garbed in black and gold armor, which sports an overcoat and a cape, while sporting a pointy hat that resembled that of a sorcerer's hat. His armor has jewelry-like ornaments and sports a Wizardriver.
The armored individual, identified only as Kamen Rider Sorcerer, is seen standing within the rooftop of Tokyo Tower, and there you can see seven children, mostly girls, tied up and gagged, and they made miffed crying as they were abducted and there Sorcerer is planning something diabolical to the girls, as he stared menacingly at the crying girls.
"Don't cry now, my little angels…it will be over soon…and you shall be SET FREE...once your roles are accomplished…"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
"MMMMPPPHH!"
Sorcerer rubbed his armored hands as he said that the girls will CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING and would be an HONORABLE ACT if they COOPERATE, whether they want to or not, watching the crying girls struggling to break free which was in vain, as they were tied in chains while blindfolded.

Two days have passed, and Haruto coincidentally won a lottery ticket and decided to try his luck, where he played a lottery game and soon won the grand prize, which is a an all-around expense trip to North America, and after telling his friends about it, they encouraged him to go for it as he earned the prize and deserved a vacation after all the hard work he made.
"Take it."
"You deserved it."
"And you've earned it."
"That's right."
"You fought non-stop, so a little break wouldn't hurt."
"So you should take it."
"Yes, and believe me…it'll help."
"Indeed."
Haruto's friends gave him the encouragement to take the prize and go for it. They are identified as:
- Shugeru Wajima
- Shunpei Nara
- Kousuke Nitoh
- Rinko Daimon
The four of them urged Haruto to accept the prize and said that everything will be okay here as Nitoh and Section Zero will handle things here as there are very few reported cases of Phantom attacks.
Haruto sighed and decided to accept the prize and is ready to leave so he can claim it, which Wajima said that Haruto deserve a break after all the sacrifices he made to save Japan, and from the mad Fueki. He also said that Koyomi would want this as well, which Haruto reluctantly nodded.
"So take my advice…you should go for it."
"I…"
"I'm pretty sure that Koyomi wanted this as well."
"Really…?"
"Yes. And trust me. It will help clear your mind."
"I see…"
"Then you better get going."
"Okay."
After that, Haruto took his leave as he heads off to claim the prize, and things went peaceful as Shunpei expressed jealousy that Haruto would get to travel worldwide, though Rinko said that this is for the best as it would help Haruto overcome the sadness of losing Koyomi, which Nitoh agreed.
"Shut it, Shunpei. This is what Haruto needed."
"She's right. A mental medicine for Haruto."
"I was just kidding…"
"Well it's not funny."
"And in bad taste."
"Geez…"
"Just let Haruto enjoy it."
"And she means it."

Several minutes later, the scene shifts at a park near Tokyo Tower, and there Haruto went to the lottery stall to claim his prize, and as the lottery seller is about to hand him the prize, something unexpected happened, as a SOLAR ECLIPSE took place and all of Tokyo experienced total darkness, surprising a lot of people, as they recall that the weather bureau said that there is no solar eclipse happening.
As Haruto observe the surrounding, he suddenly recall what the White Wizard did before, and there he noticed a gold-colored light flashing atop the Tokyo Tower, and he realized that something is going on there and uses his ring and teleported to the Tokyo Tower.
Once there, Haruto is surprised to see another armored wizard, and saw a magical circle and square hovering over the captive children, and there Haruto demanded to know what Sorcerer is doing to the children, and he is horrified when told what Sorcerer is intending to do to the captive children.
"You're going to sacrifice those innocent children?"
"Why not?"
"You…!"
"Taking their lives are essential…as my little experiment is also needed…"
"I won't let you!"
"Give it up. They'll be dead once the ritual is completed…"
"You're not getting away with this!"
"Ha-ha-ha-ha…"
Filled with worry and concern, Haruto transformed into Kamen Rider Wizard and went after Sorcerer, where they traded blows but Wizard is surprised to see that Sorcerer is a good hand-to-hand combatant as he pushes Wizard back, and there the two armored magicians placed their right hands in front of their Wizardriver to activate a magical command.
Wizardriver: "CONNECT…PLEASE…"
Wizardriver: "CONNECT…NOW…"
Wizard summons the Wi-Sword Gun and it assumes sword form whilst Sorcerer summoned the Dis Halberd, an axe with the resemblance of a sorcerer staff, and the two traded blows using their weapons, but Sorcerer was able to hold Wizard back and there he placed his right hand in front of his Wizardriver and activated a strong magical attack.
Wizardriver: "EXPLOSION…NOW…"
Explosive blasts appeared and struck Wizard, and as the latter staggered back, Sorcerer placed his right hand in front of his Wizardriver once more and activated another strong magical attack.
Wizardriver: "BLAST…NOW…"
Stronger explosive blasts struck Wizard, and as he is reeling, he saw the captive children are levitating and enveloped by the magic circle and square, then their bodies EXPLODED while their blood spilled onto a glowing pentagram on the floor, and there Sorcerer said that since Wizard is here and would thwart his plans, he would go to another world where he can do as he pleases, as the pentagram shone brighter which became a portal.
Believing that Sorcerer is planning to create a dimension that might engulf Japan, Wizard went after Sorcerer after the latter went through it, and when the two armored magicians entered the portal, it closed, and the eclipse dissipated and it was daytime once more, and the people in Tokyo are baffled at what just happened.

The scene shows that Haruto Soma was rendered unconscious after entering the unidentified portal, and as he opened his eyes, he looked around and is baffled, seeing that this area look like just the same as a park in Tokyo, but then he saw several teenagers, who appeared to be high school students, are passing by.
They were wearing some kind of western-like school uniform and as Haruto looked around, he saw some students are walking alongside their familiars, which are mostly animal-like, and this made him wonder what is happening and where did he end up at, as he is unaware that he ended up at Ortigia Academy of Magic, and that the students here are magicians.
Then two teenage students are seen passing by, also wearing the standard uniform of Ortigia Academy of Magic, a boy and a girl, and they are identified as:
- Alto Goldfield
- Lilia Kudelfeyt
Accompanying them is Alto's familiar, an young-adult looking human identified as Vermeil, and as the trio are chatting they passed by a confused Haruto as they are heading to their classroom to attend the first subject of the day, unaware of the fact that they just passed by an outsider.

Hope you liked this chapter, though there is not much action during the first half, the brief battle in the second half makes up for it and yet it became bloody after a rather gruesome deaths of the kidnapped victims as Kamen Rider Sorcerer completed the ritual and he and Haruto ended up in the world of Vermeil In Gold.
Though the main characters of the anime had no speaking lines, their appearance is enough to start the story, where the crossover of two magicians will be destined to meet.

As Haruto tries to figure out where he ended, he finds himself in a conflict within the confines of Ortigia Academy of Magic…and possibly against Vermeil…
