Obviously I don't own any of the SVU characters.

Olivia Benson walked into the 1-6 precinct on a Friday morning, she placed her belongings down on the desk and took a seat at her desk. It had been a long week and she was ready for the weekend hoping she could just enjoy some time locked away in the peace of her apartment and not be called in for a case.

"Morning Liv" called a familiar voice. Her partner, Elliot Stabler.

"Hey." Olivia replied with a soft smile as Elliot handed her a cup of coffee, he knew just the way she liked it. "Thank you." she sighed gratefully as she took a sip and Elliot sat down at his desk directly facing hers.

"How are you?" Elliot asked glancing over in her direction.

"I'm fine and you?" she replied as she logged onto her computer.

"Fine" he said with a teased back with grin on his face that earned him a glare from Olivia. Before Elliot could take a sip of his coffee Cragen called out from his office.

"Benson, Stabler. I need you down at Mercy, we have a vic. Nineteen year old was attacked and raped last night at NYU."

"And the day begins." Elliot stated taking a large sip from his cup before the pair grabbed their things and headed towards their squad car. The car ride over to the hospital was spent in a comfortable silence with the exception of Olivia playing with the radio stations every few minutes. Elliot had picked up on her habit early on that she would constantly change the music playing on the radio until she found something she liked.

As they both entered the hospital room Olivia took the lead to start the questions. It was their unspoken connection they shared that made their partnership unlike any regular partnership. They could read each other like a both with just a look.

Without uttering a word to each other they knew exactly how they would approach the situation, being so in sync with each other they could read one another like a book.

The young woman was beaten, bruised and in quite an emotional state.

"Hi, Ashleigh. I'm Detective Olivia Benson and this is my partner Elliot Stabler." Olivia stated gently as she flashed her badge. "We would like to talk to to you about what happened last night."

She took a deep shaky breath before she began to speak, "I was walking back from the library just after midnight when someone grabbed me from behind and covered my mouth. It tried to get away but he threw me to the ground and hit me in the face. He was too strong." She sobbed. "He held me down and pulled up my dress.." Tears ran down Ashleigh's cheeks and she began to hyperventilate.

"It's okay honey, take some nice deep breaths" Olivia spoke as she took Ashleigh's hand, "nice and easy."

Ashleigh focused on Olivia. She looked into Olivia's big brown eyes and felt a sense of safeness, this woman was a complete stranger to her but she already felt comfortable with her.

"Good girl." Olivia cooed as Ashleigh began to calm herself down after a few minutes with Olivia's coaching.

"I was only walking back to my dorm room across campus. I had my headphones in and didn't hear anything."

"This is not your fault, you did nothing wrong."

"How am I supposed to tell my parents, they ship me back home to Florida." Ashleigh sobbed.

They had been out all morning after questioning the young woman for her statement of events. Olivia had stayed with her while they did the rape kit, she was incredibly shaken up from her attack and Olivia wasn't going to let her go through the trauma of the kit alone. They returned a few hours later around lunch time.

"Where did you want to get lunch today?" Elliot asked as they both sat down at their desks.

"I really don't care El, I'm not that hungry." She replied as she ran her fingers through her hair. Elliot looked over at Olivia as she was leaned back in her chair already looked exhausted from today.

"C'mon Liv, I'll buy you a burger" he insisted as he handed her purse to her.

She took her purse from him as she stood up. "You're buying me fries too" she added as she walked towards the elevator.

He shook his head with a grin on his face as he followed behind her.

Shortly after Elliot and Olivia left for lunch a young dark-haired girl walked into the squad room. She looked around the nervously, she knew exactly who she was looking for but wasn't sure where to find her as she held a folded piece of paper in her hands.

She had caught the attention of Fin.

He approached her cautiously, "Hi. I'm Detective Tutuola, can I help you?"

"Yes, I'm looking for Oliv- um, Detective Olivia Benson"

"She's out at the moment. Are you sure there's nothing I can help you with?" Fin asked.

"No, I was hoping I could speak with her. Do you mind if I wait for her?" She asked.

"Of course." Fin lead the young girl over to Olivia desks where she took a seat.

"Thanks" she smiled nervously. The young girl bounced her knee up and down anxiously as she took in her surrounds of the busy squad room as uniformed officers and detectives moved about within the building. She could feel her palms beginning to sweat as she wiped them down the legs of her jeans a few times before she pulled her phone out to send a text message.

It was almost half an hour later when Olivia and Elliot arrived back from their lunch break.

"Liv" Fin called out as he approached her and Elliot, "I've got a young girl asking for you by name waiting at your desk."

"Thanks Fin" She replied. "Hi, I'm Detective Benson." Olivia said gently with a soft smile as she walked over to where the young girl was seated.

The young girl shifted nervously and pulled out a piece of paper.

"I guess you're who I'm looking for" as she handed Olivia the paper. Olivia took the piece of paper from her and read over it for a moment;

Adoption certificate issued by the State of New York:

Emma Louise Cooper – DOB: 4 May, 1993

Birth mother: Olivia Margaret Benson.

Birth Father: [blank]

Adoptive parents

Mother: Rebecca Cooper (formerly: Shay)

Father: James Cooper

She observed Olivia for a moment.

She couldn't quite process that this woman was her birth mother. She was beautiful. She instantly could see she had her mother's eyes as she bit her lip. This was actually happening.

Olivia felt like her heart was going to burst out of chest. She knew exactly who was standing in front of her.

Olivia looked up at the girl standing in front of her as tears stung her eyes. Her daughter has found her.

"Oh my god." Olivia breathed.

Olivia never envision meeting her daughter this way. She never knew if she would ever get the opportunity to see her daughter again or if she would want to meet her.

She had left that decision up to Emma if she ever wanted to make contact with her when she was old enough to make that choice for herself.

Emma had eyes that mirrored Olivia's, still. She was tall and had straight dark brown hair that was just past her shoulders. She had Olivia's nose and lips. There was no mistaking that she was a Benson, she was a carbon copy of Olivia.

She couldn't believe her eyes, her daughter had found her.

"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have just shown up here but I wanted to find you. I sort of googled you and found some news articles about you and from there it wasn't hard to track you down. Thanks technology for the lack of privacy." She half laughed trying to break the tension as she played with her necklace.

Olivia looked at the girl standing before her.

"It's completely fine honey. How about we go somewhere private." Olivia spoke teary eyed before she was interrupted.

"Olivia, is everything okay?" Elliot spoke walking towards her as Olivia quickly tried to wipe her tears away which didn't go unnoticed by him.

"Yeah. Um, can you tell Cragen I'll be back later?"

Olivia said as she quickly grabbed he belongings off her desk and left with the young girl before Elliot had the opportunity to ask any follow up questions.

He rubbed the back of his neck left slightly confused as to what was going on. Elliot wasn't comfortable with how Olivia had abruptly left, she wasn't one to show so much emotion like that and was visibly upset.

"What was that all about?" Fin called out to Elliot flashing a look of concern.

"I have no clue" he responded leaning back into his chair. Elliot wasn't going to let this go.

Meanwhile, Olivia stood in the elevator awkwardly next to Emma. She was at a loss for words.

She had thought of her baby girl every day since she had said goodbye to her all those years ago. Olivia had envisioned what her life would be like now if she had kept her. What her daughter would look like, how she would sound when she laughed, would she still have made the life she had now.

"There's a diner close by we can sit at and talk." Olivia suggested.

She knew the young girl was going to have a lot of questions for her, some tough questions that were going to bring up a lot of suppressed emotions she had kept bottled of for years for the moment she held that positive pregnancy test in her hands being a child herself.

"Yeah, sure" Emma smiled, "I just need to get my friend. He is waiting for me outside. He didn't want me coming here alone."

"How did you get here?" Olivia asked.

"Uh, we caught a train from Connecticut." Emma replied.

"Do your parents know where you are?"

Emma looked over at Olivia. "I'm assuming that's a no." Olivia answered her own question.

They got off the elevator and walked out of the building when someone called out Emma's name.

A tall slender teenage boy walked towards them pulling out his headphones.

"Everything okay?" They boy spoke quietly to Emma.

"Yeah, I'm fine" she replied, already sounding just like Olivia. "We're going to go sit somewhere to talk.

Oh, this my best friend Lucas." Emma stated as she quickly introduced the pair.

Lucas awkwardly gestured his hand out to shake Olivia's. He already knew she was a Detective for the NYPD but also knowing that his best friend was meeting her birth mother for the first time made things slightly more nerve wracking for them.

Olivia offered a soft smile as she shook the boys hand.

"So, I've got two rogue teenagers on my hands." she spoke. Olivia was feeling so many emotions in such a small time frame. She was still in a state of shock that the young girl standing in front of her was in fact her daughter and all grown up, wanting to meet her.
