I do not own Harry Potter, only my OC.
Hello guys. Badger here. I have something new for you all today. This was a story request by a fan named FeralG3. My first story that was requested by a fan. He wanted a story where Harry was raised by Sirius. FeralG3, if you are reading this, it isn't exactly what you were looking for, but I hope you still enjoy the first chapter.
If any of you want to request a story, PM me.
As you have probably seen by the summary and pairing, this is a multi pairing story. And before you say anything, Gabrielle will be the same age as Harry in this story. Also, both Patil Twins are in the pairing, but I couldn't add them both in the summary, as the site only allows a maximum of four characters.
Also, sometime in the future, there will be smut in this story, though I don't know when. FeralG3, if you are reading, do let me know when you would like to see the smut begin.
That is all I will say for now, I hope you enjoy and I will see you at the end.
Chapter 1
His Right As The Godfather
Sirius quickly raced towards Godric's Hollow on his motorbike, fear building up in his chest. His wand had begun burning, signalling the wards were broken, around James and Lily's home, where they had been hiding for the past year. His fear had only risen, when he tried using the mirror, and there was no answer. After trying at least five times, and receiving no response, Sirius quickly jumped onto his motorbike and headed towards Godric's Hollow. As he pulled up in front of the building, the atmosphere seemed cold, giving Sirius a small chill that ran down his spine, the air practically freezing his bones into ice. Quickly running into the house, Sirius stopped in his tracks, as soon as he entered the door. Laying on the ground, wand held loose in their hand, their unseeing eyes looking up at the ceiling, was James Potter, his best friend. His brother. Sirius collapsed to his knees and crawled towards his friends body, holding onto him tightly.
"Damn it…why…" He said, tears pricking the corner of his eyes "why James…why you…why…"
Sirius wanted to scream at the man in his arms, yell at him to wake up. But Sirius knew it would be pointless. The man was dead, no matter how much Sirius didn't want to believe it. Tears fell down his cheeks as he carried his friend to the sofa, so the man could rest in a more comfortable spot. Sirius made sure to cross the man's arm over James' chest, with his wand tucked gently in his dead hands. A sign of respect when laying those one cared about to rest. Something many Pureblood Families did with their deceased. As Sirius wiped his eyes, he knew he had to find Lily. He couldn't see her anywhere, so she had to be upstairs. Sirius wasn't expecting to find her alive, but was hoping for a miracle. However, that hope was shattered, when he went up the stairs and could see, through the door leading to Harry's nursery, Lily laying dead on the ground. Sirius cried as he gently closed her eyes, pressing a tender hand against her cheek. She wasn't even cold yet. Neither of them were. Sirius saw a familiar black cloak laying beside her, covered in ash. The Dark Lord. He was destroyed?
Sirius wasn't sure, but this did confirm that this was Voldemort's doing. Meaning only one think. Pettigrew was a traitor. Pettigrew was the Secret Keeper, only he would know the location of Godric's Hollow. Sirius shouldn't be that surprised. Pettigrew was a coward and always has been. Why did they make him the Secret Keeper? Why did they even trust Pettigrew, in the first place. The man Animagus Form was a rat. That, alone, should have been a red flag.
"I swear Pettigrew!" Sirius growled "as soon as I get my hands on you, I'll…"
A small cry from a baby cut Sirius off. He turned to see Harry, his godson, sat in his crib, crying at the sight of his mother. Sirius immediately rushed over and gently picked him up from the crib holding him close.
"Harry…thank Merlin you're okay!" Sirius said
Sirius checked Harry for any injuries. Harry was relatively unscathed, save for a wound on his forehead which was bleeding. Sirius quickly removed his wand and vanished the blood, which revealed a scar on his forehead. A scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. Sirius quickly ran a diagnostic charm over it, to see if it needed any medical attention. Thankfully, his diagnostics came back negative. No infection, no treatment needed and no dark magic. Only Merlin knows what could have caused that wound to appear.
A loud cracking sound echoed throughout the building, as someone apparated outside. Sirius stood where he was, wand held tightly in his hands. He wasn't sure who it was, but he will fight long enough, until he can get away. He heard someone coming up the stairs, Sirius raised their wand as their shadow appeared through the door, only to lower it when he saw who it was"
"Dumbledore" Sirius sighed "I'm glad it's you"
"Sirius my boy" Dumbledore said, pale from everything he had seen "What happened?"
"Pettigrew…he…" Sirius stuttered "He told…James and Lily were…"
"Sirius, take a deep breath" Dumbledore said, placing a gentle hand on Sirius' shoulder "is Harry okay?"
"Yeah…he's fine" Sirius replied, after taking a moment to try and collect himself "He's fine, but he has a scar and the Dark Lord…he seems to have been destroyed"
Dumbledore looked at the scar on Harry's forehead and then looked down the the ash covered cloak cloak on the ground, before looking back to Harry who looked at Dumbledore curiously, tears still running down the young boys cheeks.
"It seems Harry is the prophesied one" Dumbledore said
"'Prophesised one'" Sirius repeated "what do you mean?"
"James and Lily never told you why they went into hiding in the first place, did they?" Dumbledore asked
"Only to tell me and the others that they won't talk about it" Sirius muttered, looking away
"I hate to break it to you Sirius" Dumbledore sighed "But Voldemort isn't dead…he found a way to grant immortality, in ways I am unsure of at this moment, but there is a prophecy…a prophecy linking Voldemort to Harry…Voldemort will, one day, return and when he does Harry will be the only one who can defeat him"
"What was this prophecy" Sirius said, holding Harry close, who had started to fall asleep from exhaustion
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not...and either must die at the hand of the other, for neither can live while the other survives...the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies" Dumbledore recited "At the time, there was no way of truly knowing who the prophecy was about, but as Harry was born on the final day of July, I believed it might be him, and now he has the scar, being marked as Voldemorts equal, it now confirms it"
"But…how did it happen?" Sirius asked "how did Harry destroy him"
"It wasn't Harry…not entirely" Dumbledore replied "We both know Lily would give her life to keep Harry safe…my guess would be, that Lily's sacrifice for her son, protected Harry, rebounding Voldemorts killing curse"
"So what happens now?" Sirius asked, looking at the sleeping baby in his arms
"When the time comes, he will need to be trained" Dumbledore replied "until then, we need to find a safe place for him to stay and I thought…"
"There's no need to worry about that" Sirius interrupted "he's coming with me"
"Sirius…" Dumbledore sighed
"No, know what you're thinking" Sirius growled "I'm his godfather, I will look after him"
"Sirius, you need to understand" Dumbledore said "when word of this gets out, you will become a wanted man…I may know Peter was the Secret Keeper, but the others don't, they will think you betrayed the Potters and will hunt you down"
Sirius cursed himself, hearing what Dumbledore said. When it came to naming the Secret Keeper, Sirius suggested they use Pettigrew whilst using himself as a decoy, as Sirius felt like it would be too obvious for him to be the Secret Keeper. In a way, Sirius was partly to blame for their deaths.
"Then I will take him away from Britain" Sirius declared "Harry will live abroad, until the day comes for him to go to Hogwarts, that way I can raise him whilst remaining hidden, until Pettigrew can be found"
"Well…alright" Dumbledore sighed, knowing Sirius will make any argument to keep Harry "He will need to be told everything when he's old enough Sirius, when he starts Hogwarts, I will make the necessary arrangements for him to be trained, ready for when Voldemort returns"
"I know Dumbledore…I'll make sure he knows everything" Sirius replied
Dumbledore helped Sirius pack up some of Harry's thing, whilst levitating Lily's body, so she was laying next to James. As soon as the word gets out, the two will need to be buried. After one final goodbye, Sirius got onto his motorbike, holding Harry close, before riding away, where Dumbledore watched them disappear into the night.
…
An eleven year old Harry Potter walked down the street, heading towards his house. He was tall for his age and had a small tan from years in the American sun. His hair was cut short, no longer the messy mop it once was, and it displayed his scar for all to see. His godfather had told him everything about his parents, when he was seven, and how his mother sacrificed herself to save him. For Harry, his scar was a symbol of her love and sacrifice so wore it proudly and never had it covered. After unlocking the door to his house and stepping inside, Harry felt like something was off. The area was empty, but something about it made him feel uneasy. He cautiously made his way down the hall, but stopped when he felt the tip of a wand press against the back of his neck. Harry immediately removed his wand, pointing it at the persons stomach. He was about to fire a banishing hex, when he heard his godfather laugh.
"Hold your horses there pup" Sirius said, removing his wand "you're not in any danger…though I'm proud, you're getting better"
Harry smiled, as he put his wand away. When Harry turned 11 a few weeks back, Sirius immediately took him to one of the best wand makers America had to offer. Thiago Quintana. The old wizard was getting on a bit, but he was able to find a wand that perfectly matched Harry's core. 11 inches made from Cedar wood, with a core made from a spine of a White River Monster. A wand core that will produce spells with great force and power, but also elegance, according to Thiago. After getting his wand, Sirius had began teaching Harry some spells, nothing to advanced, as well as testing Harry's awareness to his surroundings. To begin with, Harry was constantly stunned and knocked unconscious, but was now becoming more aware and cautious of the rooms he enters, even if he knows the room and could walk around blindfolded.
"Now, Hogwarts begins in a few days, are you excited?" Sirius asked
His godsons hyper and eager nod was the only response he got. The boy loved learning. It was obvious he inherited Lily's brains. After a moment though, Harry's smile dropped.
"Have they found Pettigrew yet?" He asked
Harry knew his godfather was a wanted man in Britain, due to belief of him being the Potters secret keeper. Thankfully America didn't know of the news going around in Britain, so Sirius could walk the streets without fear of being caught, but they remained in the Muggle world most of the time. As Sirius hasn't been seen in ten years in Britain, news articles about him stopped within a year, though there is the occasional mention inside the Daily Prophets pages.
"Not yet Harry, but they will" Sirius said, reassuringly
Harry didn't buy it. Pettigrew practically disappeared the same day as Sirius took Harry to safety. He could be anywhere. It's possible that, like themselves, the coward wasn't even in Britain. Harry was determined to find Pettigrew though. He wanted to be the one to find the rat and clear his godfathers name, if it's the last thing he does.
…
Hermione Granger struggled to drag her trunk onto the train. If someone had told her a few years ago that, one day, she will be boarding a train to go to a school where she can learn magic and spells, she probably would've laughed in their face. But considering some of the weird things that had happened, like books floating towards her and accidentally turning her bullies hair green, without doing anything, Hermione couldn't help but believe something was up. It was only when a woman arrived at her house, a woman who introduced herself as Minerva McGonagall, everything was confirmed. Hermione was a witch. A first generation witch according to McGonagall, who also called her a Muggleborn due to her parents not possessing magic, whilst she did. Hermione was offered a place at a school of magic called Hogwarts and her parents were, at first, concerned and uncertain, but agreed, when they saw the excitement on their daughters face.
Now though, she was starting to wish that they didn't. When she first passed through the barrier, she was awestruck at the crimson red train that will take her to the school. With all the other children walking around, she decided to introduce herself and make a few friends. She immediately approached a group of girls who were already wearing their uniform. She chose them in particular because they had green on their robes and she always liked the colour green. However, when she introduced herself and said that she was the first in her family to possess magic, she received sneers and verbal insults before being pushed away. This led her to where she was now. Upset and struggling to get her trunk on the train, whilst everyone else ignored her.
"Do you need help there?" A kind voice asked
Hermione looked to see a boy her age, standing in front of her. He was a few inches taller then her, with a thin face, framed by short, well kept hair, and he had emerald green eyes which were so bright, Hermione thought they were glowing.
"Umm, yes please" Hermione said after a moment "it's a little heavy"
The boy smiled, before picking up on end of the trunk, lifting it up as she picked up the other end and carried it inside, where they then found an empty compartment.
"You weren't kidding about it being empty" The boy chuckled "well it was nice meeting you, I hope to see you in Hogwarts"
"Wait!" Hermione called out, just as he started to leave "do…do you want to sit with me?"
The boy looked at her for a moment, before a small smile made its way onto his face.
"Alright" he said, sitting down on the seat opposite her "May ask what your name is?"
"I'm Hermione Granger" Hermione greeted
"It's nice to meet you Hermione" The boy said "I'm Harry Potter"
Hermione gasped, as she looked up, to see the scar on his forehead. After being told of the Wizarding World, she had read everything she could about it, in whatever books were available. There was one such book explaining the events of Halloween Night, 1981, the death of the Potters and how Harry became the Boy-Who-Lived.
"Yes, the one and only" Harry smiled sadly "if you don't mind, I don't exactly want to talk about it, whenever I hear, or read something about me being the Boy-Who-Lived, all it does is remind me that my parents are dead"
"Oh, I'm sorry" Hermione said
"Don't worry about it" Harry replied "so are you excited about Hogwarts?"
"Oh yes" Hermione nodded "but I'm also a little nervous, as I am the first in my family to have magic, I'm a Muggleborn"
"Well, don't worry" Harry smiled kindly "as your friend I'll gladly help you with anything"
"Friend?" Hermione repeated
"Well yeah…I'm sorry, I probably should have asked first" Harry said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck "if you want to be friends that is?"
"I'd like that" Hermione smiled
…
Harry found that he rather enjoyed Hermione's company. She told him stories of her childhood, whilst he told her parts of his and the Wizarding World. Harry made sure to fabricate and lie a little bit. He didn't mention Sirius, just in case Hermione had read about him and he wanted to keep all association with Sirius a secret at the moment. When they were half an hour away from their stop, the two changed into their robes, with Harry giving Hermione privacy, by leaving the compartment, which she was grateful for, and she did the same when it was Harry's turn. After arriving, they, along with other children their age were led by a large giant who introduced himself as Hagrid. He guided them to a bunch of boats, which Harry and Hermione shared one with twin girls named Parvati and Padma Patil. Hermione got along quite well with Padma, but found Parvati a little to loud and giggly for her tastes. The girls may have been twins, but it was clear the two were opposite from one another.
When they arrived at the castle, they were led by McGonagall, into the Great Hall, to be sorted into their Houses. Hermione watched as students sat on a stool and had a hat placed on their heads, after a few moments, the hat yelled out one of the Houses and that student walked off to their designated table. After a while Hermione's name was called out. She felt nervous, but after a friendly nudge from Harry, she made her way up and sat down, where the hat was placed on her head.
"Hmm, interesting" a voice in her head spoke, which made Hermione jump, causing the voice to chuckle softly "don't worry miss Granger, I am the Sorting Hat, I'm not here to hurt you, I exist only to sort…but you are an interesting one…I struggle to decide where to put you…you have a lot of intelligence for one so young and love knowledge and learning, you would do well in Ravenclaw, but I also sense a great deal of bravery, even if you don't know you have it, meaning you would also do just as well in Gryffindor…you want to prove yourself to everyone else and that, alone, takes courage…ah, yes, I know where you belong, welcome to……GRYFFINDOR!"
The Gryffindor Table cheered, as Hermione walked over, giving Harry a smile when he gave her a discreet wink and smile in return. Hermione watched as more students were sorted, with Padma Patil going to Ravenclaw whilst her sister went to Gryffindor, before Harry's name was called. There were whispers of surprise and excitement as Harry made his way up to the stall and allowed the hat to be placed on his head.
"Ahh, I have been waiting for this day, Mr Potter" The hat said "I must say, you mind is definitely interesting…I feel that you would do well in any House…your loyalty to those you care about, even if they are few and so little has Helga in a rant, wanting you in her House whilst your hunger for knowledge and courage and ambition for what you hope to achieve has Rowena engaged in a row with Godric and Salazar, each one demanding you be placed in their House…but I can see now…where you truly belong, I hope you enjoy your time in……GRYFFINDOR!"
The Gryffindor Table cheered loudly, having bagged the Boy-Who-Lived. Harry just rolled his eyes at their enthusiasm, as he sat down beside Hermione.
"Gryffindor too?" Hermione asked, a small smile on her face
"Obviously" Harry smiled "you're my friend…you're not escaping me that easily"
…
Dumbledore smiled as he watched Harry laugh and converse with the small Muggleborn girl he remembered reading off of the list of new students for this term. Hermione Granger he believed her name was. He was glad to see that Sirius has been able to raise Harry well. With how busy he has been over the years, Dumbledore was unable to visit and check up on Harry, to see how he was doing, but the boy seemed healthy and that's all that mattered. Though Dumbledore was surprised Harry wasn't wearing glasses. He must be wearing contacts, as most Potter males had a small problem with their eyesight. As soon as possible, Dumbledore was going to have Harry trained, hopefully Sirius has already started doing so. The only thing Dumbledore had to worry about was Quirrell. The Headmaster knew he was one of Voldemorts followers, and had a feeling he would help his master gain a new body. Dumbledore had a plan to prevent that from happening. He just had to make sure Harry stayed out of the way. He didn't want Harry to get hurt. He will fight Voldemort when Dumbledore believes he is ready.
…
And done. What did you guys think.
Like I said, it's not exactly what Feral wanted. In his summary, he wanted a scenario where Pettigrew was found by Remus and Sirius was freed from Azkaban and saved Harry from the Dursleys when he was between the ages of seven and ten. However, I struggled with coming up with a believable scenario where Remus found Pettigrew, so made it so that Sirius took Harry from Godric's Hollow and raised him. Something he should have done in canon, instead of chasing after Pettigrew, but whatever. Originally, there were also going to be at least three chapters of Harry at different ages, being raised by Sirius, but I didn't know how to make them engaging without stretching them out for too long, so instead, there will be a few flashbacks scattered here and there, showing some scenarios of Sirius raising Harry, I figured that will be more enjoyable.
Finally, you may have noticed, I am not bashing Dumbledore in this story. In my other stories I have, but im doing something different. In this story, Harry isn't a Horcrux, therefore doesn't need to die and Dumbledore is going to train Harry straight away so he is ready to fight Voldemort, whilst also keeping Harry away from the Philosphers Stone instead of making Harry stop Quirrell from getting it to test him. Like I said, doing something different.
That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed, FeralG3 especially and I hope to see you next time
