Origins Part One
Hundreds of years ago in the Andromeda galaxy lies a small blue planet that has been living under the influence of a red sun. The planet Krypton, a thriving utopia housing its people know as Kryptonians. Highly intelligent beings have used their logic and beliefs to seek perfection in their lives. They took this belief and turned it into a drive to spread their plans of perfections to other planets through harsh subjugation and extermination. Their first success came from the planet Thalon, a third planet in the Rao System that was close to Krypton.
Logic and beliefs now turned to arrogance, Krypton continued their conquest to colonized planets in their solar system, wanting to become the alpha species. That is until they try to invade another planet that was farther within the Rao system.
A silver-colored planet and the second planet to exist in the system, the planet Gardia. The planet has also been housing a large population called the Gardians.
Like those of Krypton, The Gardians are also a species of an advanced sophisticated humanoid race that too evolved in their way of life. But while both Kryptonians and Gardians are intellectuals, the Gardians are more a warrior race that mostly uses their natural unique physiology to combat anyone that challenges them. But like all intelligent beings, Gardians, an alpha species themselves, don't take kindly to being forced into submission by another.
As Krypton's beliefs and logic became arrogant, now shifts into vengeance. They temporarily halted plans of colonization for a greater Krypton, for now, to engage in a war against an adversary that will challenge them until one of them submits to the other.
Over the past hundred years throughout the Rao system, both planets Krypton and Gardia have continuously waged an endless war with each other. Both species have proven without a doubt can live up to their status as being an alpha species. Both having an indomitable will to keep fighting for their respective planets, never submitting to their opponent until death, and never bow to anyone.
But as the recent years passed, the war was now starting to become of thing of the past. Both sides, unable to defeat one another. Each battle has always ended in one victory for Krypton, while the other for Gardia, but it has never been a true victory for both sides. Due to everlasting conflicts, Krypton and Gardia have now begun to experience severe damage on themselves.
It started with the number of soldiers that significantly dropped each time they're deployed in battle. Their resources used to craft weapons, vehicles, and armors dwindled due to overuse for war. And finally, the extension of the war inflicted considerable collateral damages and many major casualties to their people.
For each of these crisis events to be averted, both Krypton and Gardia must now attempt some form of understanding. And so, there would be formulated secret discussions between both planet ambassadors to ensure safety from those who would retaliate from this effort. The time finally came for the hundred-year war to come to an end. Krypton and Gardia have agreed to create a peaceful alliance to save themselves from destruction.
As peaceful consensus has finally been established, now was the time for them to focus on what they almost lost. Focuses on repairing civilizations, limiting their resources, and repopulate their people. But as they began slowly recovering, there was now a conversation of sharing knowledge to help consolidate their peace treaty and the possibility to ally together. With this in mind, both sides working together might mean they would be able to accomplish many achievements. Both planets prepared the exchange of their knowledge and technology. But just before the Gardians could arrive to meet the Kryptonians, the planet Krypton was unexpectedly met with an inevitable demise.
(-Planet Gardia-)
The planet Gardia, a silver-colored planet surrounded by an electric blue-colored atmosphere. Like krypton, has a gravity that is 100x stronger than some planets if not stronger than most. The landscapes are mostly populated with vegetation life with unique wildlife creatures wandering the jungle's pathways. Most notably, while the planet is teaming such a green landscape to show its gentle nature, It doesn't mean that it doesn't contain a dangerous unique substance.
The entire planet is covered by this substance of silvery rocky terrains from the bottoms of land to high mountains that reach the skies. This substance was originally called the Osmosian stone. The Osmosian stone has been the main part of Gardia ever since the planet was first formulated. It holds unique properties that help keep the planet stabilized for centuries without any form of pollution. The stones main property is having an endless hunger of feeding off any forms that have strong energies like the planet's core and channel the energy into nutrients and later disperses it into the atmosphere to nourish the planet's ecosystem.
But beyond the vegetation life and the terrains of energy-eating stones, it can be indicated that there are indeed intelligent beings, the Gardians. They are a warrior race of humanoid species that have evolved from once primitive savages that always resort to violence and looking to fight anyone just to assert themselves as the alpha. To become an intelligent species that acknowledges other Gardians as equals but only uses violence when either themselves or loved ones are threatened.
The most notable traits that help distinguish gardians from others species are their wild spiky hairstyle. The other trait that helps distinguish them from others is within each of their cells emits unique green energy that Grants them the ability to enhances their physiology to superhuman levels to improve their chances of survival. But as they do follow the traits of a warrior, that doesn't mean they aren't capable of developing civilization.
Using the Osmosian stones, the Gardians were able to melt them down using intense heat to reshape them into all sorts of objects. Once the osmosian stones are melted and permanently formed into the desired shape when they cooled down, their atom structures rapidly hardened as well as their densities increase to the point of being virtually indestructible. But they still retain their ability to continuously absorb all forms of energy. And so, the gardians renamed this new unbreakable stone into a new metal alloy, the osmosium alloy. This new metal alloy that is capable of absorbing energy including their green energy, became the very source the gardians used to develop and create their advanced civilization and technology.
Though not as advanced as Krypton, it was enough for easy lives nonetheless. The alloy existed to build tall silver skyscrapers to average buildings that can be seen covering most parts of the city. Advanced vehicles were crafted to be able to hover around the city including spaceships that take off beyond their planet. The city itself is indeed a wonder to behold for all gardians, but the true wonder is the gardians that live in royalty.
Beyond the city, on top of the highest cliff that views it, there is a large palace. The palace is home only to the gardians five royal families that govern the planet Gardia and its people. Each of the families holds the responsibility of maintaining control of the planet's well-being and the people as well. But, when the people have chosen which of the families they feel suited to be king or queen, the chosen individual may have a higher authority and access to the other families' holdings.
In one of the rooms in the palace, a large round table with five seats for each of the head families in the room center. As of now, a meeting is being held to discuss their next situation. But this situation is something that has the head families deeply concerned. A week ago, they just recently made peace with their equal adversary, the planet Krypton. They came into the acceptance of acknowledging each other as both alpha species in their Rao system of the Andromeda galaxy. It was furthered discussed for their peace to be fully recognized, both worlds would have to exchange information of their history and small technology with each other for the peace to be completely truthful.
Krypton has agreed to these terms and shared its entire historical data and technology with Gardia. In response to this, Gardia plans to honor their part of the agreement with Krypton as well. Preparation was being made, gathering their historical data and technology ready to be sent to Krypton. But just as they were to head out to meet Krypton handing their information, suddenly out of the blue, the planet Krypton suffered an untimely demise.
The head families of Gardia continued to watch in silence with the shocking horrified expressions on their faces as they view a live holographic image of nothing but small pieces of what used to be the remains of planet Krypton floating about in the now empty void of space. There was no warning, no distress calls for aid, nothing. It was concluded that this was no asteroid strong enough to destroy the planet, it was an unexpected attack from an unknown enemy. Krypton was unprepared for this surprising attack and they've suffered greatly for it.
It was at this point one of the head families that has long spiky blonde hair tied in a ponytail, white skin, and blue eyes wearing his royal high council robes ended the silence by speaking out.
"Wh-who could have caused this destruction?" questioned the stunned man wanting to know who was capable of destroying their newly made ally. Whoever it was, they were able to destroy Krypton so quickly in a short amount of time.
"As far we know Boron, nothing, " stated a brown-haired female guardian with light skin brown eyes while wearing a similar outfit to the rest of the head families. When reports quickly came of Krypton's sudden destruction, five scout drones were sent in to investigate this recently developed situation. Going over the footage again, they were hoping to find something of use to help identify this menace. But nothing out of the ordinary showed up on the footage. "This was everything our scout drones were able to acquire. Nothing but the high radiation resulted from the explosion. Whoever was responsible, they're no longer present there."
It was at this point, things are starting to get worst. There were so many questions, yet few answers that we're unable to appease their concerns. Even the people of gardia are beginning to express their concerns as well.
Slamming his hands on the table in frustration, another white-skinned man with short Auburn hair loudly speaks out. "What, Anissa how is that possible?! Krypton was destroyed barely an hour ago, they can't have just simply disappeared, " stated the man. It was hard to believe that an enemy containing such a powerful force easily bested a former adversary that rivaled them with high technological advancements. But only to be overpowered by an unknown threat and quickly vanish.
"Calm yourself, Maero, " Stated a calm voice of another man with pale-colored hair, blue eyes, and light skin tone sitting next to Maero. "Though, it is unfortunate that Krypton and Gardia have finally set aside our petty differences to avoid the demise of both worlds. But only for one to be wiped out by unforeseen causes. We cannot ignore the fact that this new adversary could inevitably project us as their next course of destruction, " the moment he stated that some of the heads slightly paled at the thought of this new enemy could target them next in their conquest of annihilation.
"Soran, my king, if it is indeed true that the demise of our planet is unavoidable, we must see to our open alternatives for Gardia's chances of survival, " addressing the man to his king who is sitting in the front of the table.
Soran, the current King of all Gardians. A man who himself fought in the war against Krypton as the first and last line on the battlefield for years, helped earned him the right of holding a higher status as King.
Having a tan skin tone, black eyes, and long black spiky hair falling to his back. Unlike the other head families that are wearing the royal robes, the gardian king is seen outfitted with the royal sleeves battle armor with the chested area part being gold and the midsection and the shoulder pads being black along with black armed wrist bands with gold ridges. Also wearing black form-fitting pants and Along with his family insignia of a circle with skinny isosceles triangles on the circle's curved edge looking like the sun embedded on the left side of his armored chest.
The King begins to ponder on what his fellow head house member stated about other alternatives. Understanding that if the soon-to-be crisis is not dealt with, then they would surely suffer the consequences. If the chances are that if they prepare for the coming onslaught, chances for their survival guarantees are slim at best since there isn't any information on these invaders. Also, it would be foolish to face an opponent that they'd know so little about. Unless there is one option that he hopes that they might consider on the table.
"I am seeing many reasons for us to confront these assailants should they arrive and provoke us into another battle." Said Soran stating out the gardian instinct to not back down from anyone who challenges them. "However as Joran had stated, and if our battle with krypton has taught us anything, is that sometimes there are some wars that can't always end in good victories." And he knows this by experiencing many failures and the losses of his comrades who lost their lives for nothing and returning empty-handed and greeted with disappointed looks received from his former superiors.
"And right now, I believe this new battle could be the one battle none of us will be walking away from alive. Therefore, I propose that as a last resort for should we reached the point of suffering the same fate as Krypton did." The other heads looked at each other wondering what is this route their king would have them do. "And what exactly is it that you'll have us do your highness?" questioned Anissa letting the king answer her question. "We must retreat and evacuate from the planet Gardia, " said the king stating out his only option of survival for all gardians.
Most of the head families looked at their king in shock and bewildered at his alternative option that they would have to be forced to leave the only home they've ever known. "Y-you cannot be serious my king, " said Maero speaking out against the king's plan while Soran expected this outcome from them. Maero presses on with his objection, letting out his pride of not giving up their home to someone else, "We can't just simply leave our planet without even giving an effort to defend it, " he didn't think that their king who fought in the war with krypton for years, would suggest abandoning their home would be their solution.
"I'm afraid what Maero speaks of is true my king," said Boron also speaking against the king's option. To them, it would just be choosing a coward's way out. "We're not gonna abandoned our planet just because of what happened to Krypton, doesn't necessarily mean we will fall down the same path as well." It may have been slightly arrogant for Boron for denying the possibility of the new threat showing up here next.
"Yes, I agree with the others of what they are saying, my king," stated Anissa voicing her objections against the option as well. In truth in her voice, she is a bit disappointed with her king's decision of evacuation instead of defending their home planet. "Besides, the likelihood of the possibilities of us being their next target should be considered low at best, " she also stated. After all, they are far further away from krypton in their Rao system and they would not be shown from any scanners.
Joran stayed silent as he continued to look at his old friend who is king with no disappointment as the other families have expressed, but more of curiosity as to where would the king have them go if their planet was to soon reach its demise. Until he finally let out his opinion of the decision handed down to them. "It is indeed uncertain that we would fall as Krypton has. Battling an invasive species is nothing new to us," stated Joran. "Though we never encountered a being that is capable of such destruction before." He also wanted to state the magnitude of this new conflict should it arrive. "Therefore, if there is no need for further discussions, it is time we cast our votes on the king's evacuation decision. Should we evacuate Gardia and relocate to an unpopulated world for survival, or should we resort to prepare our defense force should the threat arrive soon?" Joran stopped speaking for the head families to discuss among themselves whether or not to support this option.
Only a half-hour has passed until the four head families have made their votes be known to their king. "Has the head families made their decision?" asked Soran patiently waiting for their vote. Anissa begins their announcement by speaking for all the head families present. "Yes, my king, though we do understand your intentions are for the best interest of all gardians. However, we must also look at the better alternative solution as well," Soran was already beginning to see where this was headed, and even if he could argue against the decision made by them, it will not change their minds. "And so, the head families of Gardia have decreed that the request from you, King Soran to have an evacuation order should the threat be met, be rejected and look to better alternatives." As Anissa spoke the final decision while the others except Joran nodded their heads in agreement with her statement.
(-Palace Hallway Thirty Minutes Later-)
After the decision was made, the meeting was adjourned until tomorrow for further debate. Soran is seen walking through the empty halls alone on his way to his family's home quarter of the palace while expressing a disappointing and concerned expression on his face. Understandably, he did expect such disagreement would happen before the meeting began and he couldn't blame them. Personally, Even he believed that leaving home was appalling as well. But his experience in battles has shown him that sometimes to avoid adversaries powerful than you, is to not engage them if you believe you can't win. Unfortunately, it's their stubborn Gardian pride that tends to serve as the helpful trait of never surrendering from the enemy. But it usually tends to blind them from the truth as well.
As he was about to make a left turn in the hallway, someone was patiently waiting for him near his home quarters and noticed the king's arrival presence as Soran notices the person as well. "Joran?" asked the king surprised to see his closest friend and head family waiting for him as Joran calmly walks up to him. "Is something the matter? You and I both know there wasn't anything I can do to persuade the others to support the evacuation strategy, " said Soran as Joran approached him with a tablet in hand. "Yes, there was no guarantee that receiving any support from one of them would tip In your scale, " stated Joran understanding the king's statement as well. "However, there is another matter that I wished to discuss with you in private regarding the scout drones we sent out to Krypton, " bringing out the tablet to show Soran the issue at hand.
The tablet began to lighten up to show the holographic statuses of the scout drones returning from the remains of Krypton. Checking over their statuses one at a time, the drones have reported nothing out of the ordinary besides this unique radiation being emitted from the remains of krypton. They couldn't detect any surviving life forms and no significant traces of the enemy that could help them identify the culprit's whereabouts.
Scrolling down to the last bot's recording status, all Soran could do was raise his eyebrow in confusion. The status of the last drone could not be displayed but with a 'Signal Lost' labeled on the screen. "Hmm, That's odd, one of the scout drones isn't responding to the fallback signal. Could it have been destroyed by floating debris?" asked Soran wondering if one of the drones was caught into those huge chunks of remains of the planets. Joran shook his head in disagreement with the king's theory of the drone's lost signal. "I'm afraid not my king, even if the drones were to encounter such things, it was designed with built-in evasive maneuvers process should they encounter them." Then Joran's face suddenly turned serious, "However, I believe it may have stumbled upon troublesome news. " Soran looked at his colleague in confusion and wondering what theory he has about the drone's disappearance. "So the drone did find something, what is it?"
Scrolling back the last footage of the drone's recordings before its sudden disappearance, Joran reaches the near end before it was cut off. "It was only a split second, but I managed to uncover the reason our drone is unresponsive, " playing the video where the drone's POV could only see a gray blur heading straight for it, and then the screen goes blank. Eyes Narrowed in suspicion, Soran rewind's the video again. This time, playing it slowly, Soran was able to see the gray blur enough for him to catch it in a pause. Tapping in a few button commands on the tablet, Soran puts the main focus on the blurry object and enhances the blur's quality for a better graphic view. What the king saw next was the reaction Joran will be expecting from the other family heads when they find out, shock and horror.
It was a ship. A giant ship, unlike any kind that was ever witnessed by both Gardians before. Its entire design was based on what looks like a shaped humanoid skull that looks like it could stare into the souls of those who dare to stare back at its glowing purple hollowed eye sockets. There can be seen spider-like legs at the bottom of the ship that looks like it is capable of movement on any terrain of the land. Finally, there can be seen multiple three-clawed appendage tentacles sprouting out of the occipital part of the back of the skull ship. It was now confirmed that the attack on Krypton wasn't done by an army of battleships, but was done by a colossal-sized ship that singlehandedly destroyed an entire planet with ease. And now the last second of the missing drone's footage is that this skull ship was heading straight for it then the screen went completely black.
Soran and Joran continue to look at the now blank screen with both gardians having now a serious expression on their faces about this current discovery. "Who or what is that monstrosity?" questions Soran with a bit of anger in his voice. Now that he knows what caused Krypton's destruction, now he has to be prepared for the worst. "It is an unknown." Said the head family man. "But what I can say is this, I'm positive that now that they have our drone in their possession, they'll likely now be aware of our existence, and soon the crisis of Krypton's destruction may soon loom over us as well." Said Joran as he predicts the skull ship's next likely target to be Gardia.
Soon both the king and head family stared at each other now knowing the possibility of their now identified enemy will soon be arriving on their planet plotting their demise as well. "How long do we have till they arrive?" asked Soran wanting to know the exact time of when the ship arrives. Jordan began tapping a few buttons on the tablet to calculate the exact point of time their enemy's arrival on Gardia should be. "By running the diagnoses of the drone's speed and comparing with the speed of this skull ship we recorded in the footage, the estimated point of its arrival will be no more than one week my king," stated Joran showing the king his estimated time with his tablet.
Angrily clenching his teeth and his hands formed into grips, Soran was just about ready to smack the tablet out of Joran's hands just out of frustration knowing their time on their planet will be short, very short. Even if the other head members were to learn of the limited time they have now, they would surely decline again on his evacuation plan and want to be ready for when the enemy arrives and they must attack first. They were fools, honorable but fools as well.
Closing his eyes for a second, With only a week away from their destruction, giving the king little time to come up with a plan. Quickly opening his eyes with determination in them, Soran now realizes what he must do for the gardian bloodline to survive. "Joran, we're your teams able to understand how to operate the technology Krypton shared with us?" asked the king knowing that Joran and his people been studying endlessly the histories of Krypton and re-engineering their technology so it to be sufficient enough use for gardians to operate.
Joran was slightly surprised by the king's unexpected interest in the developments of what his team has created so far. "We have and I must admit the information including the technology we received was truly a mind-broadening experience for us," Stated Joran with such clarity in his voice. Joran will admit, studying the Kryptonian data was just truly remarkable. To think that Kryptonians were so much more advanced would be an understatement, they were able to expand their awareness even outside of their galaxy so much that they would have been in the development of crafting ships of traveling beyond their Galaxy reaches.
Nodding his head in the assurance given by his friend, along with his plan in mind, Soran may now have the slightest chance of having one of their race continue to live. "Joran, I have an important task that I need your people to create. It is now your top priority but I want it done in secret, " ordered Soran not wanting anyone to discover his plan. Joran seeing the seriousness in the king's order, nodded his head. He now asks the king what would he have them construct in the little time they have. The King then began to explain his plan to him in private.
(-King Household Quarter-)
An hour passed by from the conversation with Soran along with his trusted friend Joran. The King handed Joran an important task instructing him and his people to keep it a secret from anyone but those they trust. With little time they have now on Gardia, Soran ordered his friend to make it their top priority and not waste any second until it is complete.
Arriving at the bedroom fitted for him and his wife, Aurora. Soran was wondering how he was going to inform her of their time spent together was only moments away from destruction. Door sliding upward from the king's presence, Soran enters the room to find his wife sitting on the side bed back turned from him, and what looks to be she was carefully moving something in her arms like it was very precious to her.
A loving smile formed on his face, Soran soon walked up behind her and gently wrapped his arms around her waist so as not to startle her. "Hello love, what are you doing up, shouldn't you be resting right now?" asked Soran concerned for his wife's well-being. A gentle smile formed on her face upon hearing her husband's voice, Aurora soon turned around to see her lover face-forward while holding a small figure wrapped in a soft blanket.
Aurora, the current Queen of Gardian. Another old childhood friend and now wife of Soran. Aurora was always there to comfort him in his times of need during the war with Krypton. A beautiful woman having long wavy spiky red hair reaching down her lower waist, blue eyes with a beauty mark underneath her left eye, and fair-colored skin tone. She had a long green dress to cover her slender figure along with a custom-made necklace with Soran's sun emblem.
Unlike most Gardians who carry on the traits of a warrior, Aurora was one of the few gardians to take the duty as a medical officer to treat the injured troops and then deployed them in battle again. Soran was always being the one in her care the most due to fighting constantly in the first and the last line in battle. Each treatment made their friendship evolve into something romantic that resulted in a marriage and ruling as King and Queen together.
Aurora met his eyes with her soft eyes to lean forward close to his face with a kiss as Soran raised his hand to caress her face while they enjoy the moment. When the moment ended, she answered his question with a smile. "I was until our little warrior here decided he wasn't going to rest until his father returns from his big meeting with the head families, " joked Aurora mentioning the little figure in her arms as it began to slightly move to reveal the opening wrapped in the brown blanket. The Opening revealed a Tiny face with a tan skin tone and a full head of short thick spiky black hair along with black eye color. It is revealed to be their son, Aaron. A month-old baby, son of Soran and Aurora, and also the Prince of Gardia.
The moment he heard his mother talking to someone familiar to him, Aaron looked up to see his father was there in front of him. He let out an excited cooing sound and began reaching out for his father to hold him. Chuckling at his son's excitement, Soran reached out for Aaron placing him close to his face. Aaron laughed uncontrollably as he grabs his father's nose holding onto it firmly while their female family member only watched the father-son bond with fondness in her eyes.
Soran managed to have Aaron let go of his nose before he could perhaps crush it if he held on longer. "Wow Aaron, you sure have a strong grip there don't ya." Soran couldn't help but feel a hint of pride forming up inside him.
Aurora chuckled at her husband's remark about their son, "I was hoping you would notice that. He might be developing a lot faster than most young gardians should at this rate, " said the woman casually as she began to notice Aaron's rapid strength increase lately in the past three weeks.
It was rare for young gardians to rapidly develop faster than most. It was possible due to the fact if at least one of the parents has an incredibly strong Gardian bloodline something Soran has had hardened through high intense constant battles. The strong lineage would genetically be imprinted on to their children.
Soran lowered his son to his chest now noticing his eyes were now drifting into a state of slumber. Letting out of a soft yawn, Aaron immediately went into a deep sleep within his father's arm. Both parents smile fondly as they watch their son finally rest peacefully knowing his parents are here together with him.
As Aaron slept, Aurora now turned her attention to Soran as he kept looking down at their son with a smile that looked to be an assurance that nothing will happen to him. She couldn't help but feel like something is bothering him and doesn't want their son awake to hear it. "So beloved, how did the meeting go with head families? It sounded very urgent If they summoned you while off duty," asked Aurora curiously wanted to know what was the emergency about.
Soran blinked out of focus of his son and turned it towards his wife. His smile slowly faltered as he was asked about his meeting with the other about the recent development. "Aurora do you remember the event that happened with Krypton early yesterday?" asked Soran recalling the news that was spread throughout the citizens of Gardia.
Aurora raised an eyebrow in confusion at her husband's question regarding the tragic news of their former enemy. "Yes, It was hard to ignore that with everyone in the Palace kept bringing it up," answered Aurora. When she heard about Krypton's destruction, she couldn't imagine the horror they suffered through until it was blown out of existence. "Why, Have you figured out who was responsible for that?" she asked seeing her husband's face says he has figured out who was the culprit.
Nodding his head in confirmation, Soran held onto his sleeping son tightly only to look at Aurora with a very serious expression. "Yes and no, we don't know who it was that did it, but we did find out what caused that destruction," answered Soran as Aurora looked even more confused by his response.
Over the past thirty minutes, Soran began telling his wife everything that had transpired in the meeting with the head families and his private meeting with Joran. Telling her that it was someone piloting a giant skull ship that destroyed Krypton with ease. Now a high possibility that they might come for them next in one week and Soran presented an evacuation plan. But the head families rejected that solution signaling that they refused to surrender Gardia to anyone without a fight.
When Soran finished explaining everything about their situation, Aurora was left speechless throughout the entire explanation. Someone capable of invading and annihilate a world without remorse is truly a horrible thing to experience. And now to learn of the possibility of meeting the same fate as Krypton did with limited time is truly concerning.
All this information Aurora was told was just too crazy to simply pass it as just another invasion to rule. It's sounded more like a genocidal massacre. "My Love, can't you convince them tomorrow? If you could explain to the-, " before Aurora could finish her sentence, Soran interrupted her, "No we can't. Even if they knew of this, it wouldn't change their minds, " said the king knowing it would be meaningless to persuade them of their plans of staying. "It would simply just encourage them to create a futile defensive strategy to counter them, ". Aurora could look at him in disbelief in the fact that they would rather follow their primal instincts to rather die than to listen to practical reasons. Sometimes she wishes they weren't born with these accursed instincts of fighting to the death than the importance of living on.
All the negative atmosphere expressing around the king and queen was causing Aaron to slightly stir In his sleep. Both parents noticed the sudden movement between them and now realizing another problem. Not even a year old and Aaron too will soon perish along with their planet without knowing what life has to offer him. However, Soran was not going to let that happen to him. He will make sure his son will live to see a better tomorrow.
"I have a plan, " said Soran bringing Aurora's attention from their child to him. "Listen right now, Joran and his people are reverse-engineering the Kryptonian technology in secret. They're building a spaceship that can't be tracked by anyone, " Started Soran as he continues to explain his intentions to his confused wife. "And once it's complete, we're gonna send Aaron to another world to live on, " stated Soran wanting to send his son away from Gardia.
Aurora just stood there motionless. Eyes widened in shock that Soran would suggest that sending their only child to another world all by himself was the solution. She soon was able to find her motion to speak out. "Y-Y-You can't be serious, " stammered Aurora now looking at their baby sleeping innocently. Motherly instinct kicked in and Aaron was now being held tightly in her arms shielding him. "No, no we can't! Why would you think abandoning our son is a good idea? He hasn't even learned how to crawl or talk yet!" exclaimed the now scared mother.
Soran however, was not surprised by her outburst, even he didn't want to resort to this as well. "We're not going to abandon him, " said Soran trying to assure his wife that nothing is going to happen to their son. "Right now, Joran is searching throughout the Kryptonian archives. He's finding a suitable planet that can preserve gardians. So I'm gonna make sure he can live a decent life without the thought of being hunted, " to Soran, this was something he could at least do for Aaron while he was still his father, to save his son from being destroyed.
"But what if you're wrong my love?" asked Aurora wanting to question Soran's plan. "What if these invaders don't arrive here and we sent our son away for nothing?" she doesn't want to believe that the invaders would come here just to annihilate them. But because of his experiences on the battlefield, Soran's predictions have always been highly accurate in knowing there's some battle that has a high cost of casualties. Knowing that her husband's theories have mostly been true, she has to have trust in his judgmental decision.
"If it turns out I'm wrong about this, I'll go and rescue him, " answered Soran without hesitation as he has taken her concern into account knowing in case if he was wrong. He then pulls Aurora along with their son into a gentle hug trying to comfort them. "Aurora you know I wouldn't consider this option unless I know our chances of winning are in our favor, " Soran wanted to believe as well that they could win against this assault so they could see their son grow up to be a strong warrior, but he couldn't help but know that this is a fight they just can't win. So he doesn't want to take any chances of hoping that would likely be the case. Soran and Aurora stared at each other, knowing that this could be their only chance of saving what remains of Gardia from total extinction.
Now having a hardened look in his eyes, Soran just has to wait and hope that Joran can finish with the ship before the final day arrived. "My love, I get the feeling, that death is on its way for us, " said Soran now seeing a frightened Aurora. Both looking down at their innocent baby sleeping soundly without a care in the world. If they are to truly be perished in the coming week, then they would need to spend every second together as a family to enjoy the last moments with their son before departure.
(-City of Gardia one week later-)
Seven days have passed since the news of Krypton's destruction has reached the people of Gardia. Seven days will be the last moments that their planet would have to live before annihilation arrives. These past days were used wisely to encounter this threat.
The necessary preparations were being made, ordered by their king Soran after his evacuation plan failed to reach those who can use practical thought rather than their instinct. Their army was armed with state-of-the-art armors and weapons crafted from their osmosium alloy. Having their stealth spy drones in position to keep a watchful eye and alert them of the coming invaders. Gardia was ready for them, waiting for them to arrive so they could make the first strike before the enemy could even know what destroyed them. But what they didn't know, was that the battle was over before it began.
(-A Few Hours Later-)
Meteors came falling from the sky, colliding with large buildings that came crashing down to the ground creating large explosions covering almost half the city in fire and smoke. The once vegetation life jungles were now being consumed by uncontrollable wildfires that were quickly spreading throughout the rest of the terrain's wildlife.
On the roads of the once-great city of Gardia, nothing but the destruction of vehicles, fire, and fallen buildings are what awaits those who come to this path. Marching on the empty street, where an army of what appears to be not organic troopers that the gardians thought to expect, but facing something they've never encountered before. It was an army entirely comprised of robots. Robots standing tall having superior advanced exoskeleton armor covering most of their bodies, along with skinless muscle, and humanoid-shaped skulls with a violet glowing circle on their foreheads.
The robots continued marching through the half-ruined city killing anything that stands in their way, expressing no remorse for the destruction they caused around them. With glowing red eyes, it looked like they were scanning areas for any live specimens they can find to separate from the ones for extermination. Suddenly the robots began detecting multiple energy readings that are rising quickly to easily pinpoint their location.
Following the location of the energy readings, the robots began scanning the area of any living forms of life. Then the robots soon detected something hidden in the piles of rubble that used to be a building and approached it. They were about inches away then suddenly, one of the robots was impaled from behind by what appears to be a silver spear that seems to be glowing green and being held by a gardian soldier who was also encased by the green energy while wearing silver combat armor and a form-fitting grey bodysuit underneath it and a grey shield to match.
The robots then began to approach the single soldier with their arms extended. Then the soldier threw the impaled robot to the approaching robotic hordes and stood his ground unflinching of being outnumbered. Then arrived the backup for the lonely soldier, behind him were the last remaining soldiers of Gardia left standing ready for the next attack wave. As the robots continued their approach without hesitation, the gardians began to encase themselves in green energy-enhancing their physiology and each soldier let out their battle cry and charged at their robotic invaders who did the same as well.
It was a fight to the death for all gardians, something that was just natural for them on the battlefield. They fought with every ounce of strength and pride they had while the robots continued their relentless assault. The Gardians continue to battle back the robotic menace using whatever they had at their disposal. Slicing their heads off with swords, smashed their chest in with hammers, even their bare hands ripping them apart and using other brutal methods. But even with these tactics in mind, it wouldn't stop the countless hordes from eventually overcoming them.
Eventually, it started with a few gardians beginning to drop to the ground. Then another few soon fell from having their heads being impaled by the robot's tentacles fired from their hands. Some have been vaporized alive by robots laser eyes leaving only the armors intact. The endless robots did not stop pursuing further on their attack until there was no one left standing. Until there was only one gardian soldier left standing looking half bloody beaten holding an injured arm while being approached by the robots ready to fire their laser eye beams.
Then the robot in the center of the group suddenly was vertically split in half. When the half-split robot fell to the ground, the injured soldier could witness his savior as the one person that all of gardian has chosen to rule them, King Soran still wearing his royal battle armor and wielding a large great-sword covering both round pommel and the curved guards along with sun emblem in the center and fuller gold and it's double straight blade edges and the grip silver.
"M-M-My King, " stammered the soldier in awe. The King nodded his head in confirmation before turning his attention to the remaining robots as they began to charge at him. One robot fires a tentacle aiming at Soran's head but he quickly evades to the left the attack and gets close enough to slice the upper body and instantly whirls around to make a horizontal swipe slicing three robots coming at him from behind. Then the only robot left fired its orange energy beams straight at the king but he manages to block the beams with his sword. Though the beam was only hitting the sword, its bladed edges giving off an orange glow as if it was feeding on the energy instead of blocking it. With the sword energized, Soran now unleashes it by firing the beam right back at its owner completely obliterating it into pieces while the lone soldier witnesses it.
With the minor conflict over, Soran now used this time to address the injured soldier he rescued. "Can you walk?" asked the king as he examined the soldier's injuries. Taken aback by the king's question, the soldier could only nod his head in assurance. "Head south of the city, there's a medical warehouse stationed up for the injured. Go now, " ordered Soran as the warrior nodded again and headed to the direction given to him leaving the king alone.
As he left, all Soran could do at this moment was let out a sigh in frustration. If only the head families listened to him about the expected outcome that is happening right now. He knew they would be fighting a losing battle and right now there are barely enough warriors in the first and last line of defense against this threat. But right now none of that matters, he just has to keep fighting long enough until Joran completes the spaceship and finds a safe planet for his son to live on.
As he was about to move on to the next battle, he was suddenly covered by what appears to be a large shadowy figure. Turning his attention upwards in the sky, he could only gaze at what appears to be their destroyer. It was the giant skull ship that Soran knew would arrive to destroy them just as it did with Krypton. As if it could detect being gazed upon, the ship tilted downward to ominously stare back at the king's unflinching stare. Gripping his sword tightly, Soran stood there not intimidated for a second by this adversary's monstrous appearance. This was not new to him at all, it's just another battle to either complete an objective or just simply surviving an onslaught.
He hears footsteps approaching him from the right side. He turns to see another huge wave of robots marching towards him. Growling slightly, Soran was about to get into a battle stance ready to face the next assault, until he feels a vibration coming from his side waist revealing a small portable device. Retrieving the device to answer revealing Joran.
"Joran I'm a bit busy right now so make it quick, is the ship ready?" asked Soran quickly so he could focus his attention on the coming threat. "Yes my king, " answered Joran through the communication. "But the ship requires your final approval. Head to the hidden hangar outside of the city, Aurora and I will be waiting. But make haste, I don't know how long until we're discovered, " stated Joran making the hangar location Soran's top priority which he quickly replies an "on my way" as he ends the call.
With the escape ship now ready on standby, Soran must now head to the hidden hangar located outside of the city. This means he mustn't waste any more time fighting these robots that are surrounding him ready to attack. "Time is of the essence, " stated Soran as he began prepared to make his assault.
Narrowing his eyes at the direction ahead, Green energy begins emitting from all over Soran's body encasing himself in an energy shield along with his sword giving off a similar green glow. With a burst of new speed, Soran slams his energized sword down on one of the robots strong enough to create a small shockwave that blew away all the nearby robots. If he's going to save his son from being annihilated, then he can't afford of playing nice anymore.
With that in mind, an energy enhanced Soran starts to move quicker leaving a green light trail behind him. Making his way across the city, Soran was swinging left and right slicing through many robots that made the mistake of getting in his way. Avoiding the incoming tentacle projectiles in front of him, Soran leaps over behind the robots turns over to slices the robot in two, and whirls around giving two quick slashes on another robot before twirling his sword in another direction doing a fast thrust through the robot's chest as it fell before proceeding to his main objective.
Making his way out of the city, he manages through the wildfire jungle until he reaches a cliff overlooking the entire jungle, he couldn't believe what he was witnessing. Gardia's gentle jungle being consumed by the uncontrollable flames. In Soran's point of view, it was like he was in a living hell like this was just to torture them before their elimination. But he couldn't focus on that now, he has to get to Aurora and Soran now before it was too late.
(-Hangar Bay thirty minutes later-)
Viewing the city's destruction from the rooftop, Aurora was at a loss for words for what she was witnessing. Their great city being destroyed by a genocidal maniac who is piloting the very ship that ended Krypton is floating above it. And now, it is only a matter of time before it sets its sight on this location to do the same as well.
Feeling movement in her arms, she looked down to see her son Aaron looking back at her with those innocent-looking eyes wondering whys his mother was upset. Gently tightening her hold on her baby, all Aurora could do now is continue to soothe her child while she prays and waits for her husband's arrival. "Shh, Shh Shh, don't worry about me, my little warrior. Your father and I will make sure you'll be far away from here, away from the fights, away from us, " stating Aurora. The way she said 'us' in her sentence was not just intended for her or Soran, but all of Gardia.
She understood why they didn't choose her husband's plan of evacuation, it was because of their Gardian pride. They believed they could've stopped this threat from destroying them. But if not, they would've rather die fighting than be subjugated to a fate worst than death. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Soran wanted to send their son away, to hopefully be free of making other choices that would assure his survival and those around him. To make choices that don't end in a life being taken by his hands, try to be better than his father.
As she was consoling her son, she hears the door behind her slide open. Turning around it's none other than Joran expressing a troubled look on his face. "My lady, I'm afraid there may not be enough time for Soran to arrive, " said Joran as he soon witnesses their city. "No Joran, he will be here, I know it, just have the ship ready t-" before she could finish her sentence, they hear a loud noise coming from behind them.
Both Turning around, they see the bottom of the floating skull ship powering up blue energy aimed directly down at the city of Gardia. The moment it was fully charged, the skull ship fired the blue beam hitting the dead center of Gardia city until everything around it slowly fades out of existence leaving nothing but a huge crater left in its wake. With Gardia city gone, the skull ship flies up high into the sky until it was out of sight.
Both gardians were so stunned and horrified by what they just witnessed. The entire city was just gone, vanished into thin air, not even traces of its ashes can be seen insight. Unaware of someone approaching them from behind, its hand began reaching out for Aurora's shoulder.
Joran now sensing the presence behind them acted swiftly by reaching out for his hidden silver dagger glowing with green energy, swirls around to engage the enemy. Just as the green energized silver dagger was about to hit the person, it was met with a loud 'CLANG' larger silver sword emanating the same color glow but it had a familiar emblem that Aurora immediately recognized.
"Beloved, you made it!" exclaimed Aurora in relief that her husband made it out of the city alive. Aaron let out a happy cooing sound at the sight of his father. Joran immediately withdraws his weapon to address his king. "My apologies my king, we were led to believe that you were caught in the city's disappearance along with the rest of our people, " said Joran. "I know, I witness the city being taken as I made my way over here, " said Soran as he looked at what remained left of their city. His fist tightens in anger, whoever is behind that ship is going to pay dearly for this, if not him then someone else will.
"There is nothing we can do for them now, unfortunately, " stated Soran knowing there's nothing they can do to bring them back. "All we have is one option left, is the ship ready?" hoping Joran has completed his final task if they're going to do this, they must act fast.
Joran nodded his head assuring he completed his final task. "All it needs is your final approval, then it'll launch, " said Joran informing the king of its final step. Not wasting any more time, Soran asks his friend to take them to ship quickly.
Arriving inside the hangar and reaching the lower levels, the King and Queen could see that Joran has been busy the past week. The center of the room begins to rise to reveal Joran's creation. It was a small silver ship built that is fitted only for a small person along with another familiar size circular compartment comprised of silver crystallization. "I managed to craft the shuttle and the necessary material you requested for Aaron. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for any flight testing. So the odds of him arriving on the planet-course I set for him are gray, " explained Joran about the odd possibility of the ship not getting to the destined planet.
Speaking of said chosen planet, Soran and Aurora now realized they haven't discussed with Joran about the world that would be better suited for their son. "Joran, you found a planet? How did you discover it?" asked Aurora curiously wanting to know their son's future home.
Joran took this time to explain. "It was not me that discovered the planet, it was Krypton, " said Joran as he displays a holographic image of a green and blue planet as he saw the surprised look on his ruler's face. He begins setting up both the ship and the crystal orb's coordinate as he continued explaining. "It was discovered by a scientist named Jor-el who believed this planet could sustain Kryptonians, " as he finished setting up the coordinates, Joran then looked at the baby who was looking around the room curiously. "If it is true a Kryptonian did escape and the planet is adaptable to him, I fail to see how it shouldn't be possible for it to be adaptable for a Gardian." Stated Joran of having no reason to believe the planet shouldn't harbor just one endangered species.
Both the king and queen looked at each other for a second before agreeing to this planet to be Aaron's new home. Then suddenly, the entire hanger began wildly shaking with causing most of the objects to tumble over and the hologram screens start to flicker.
Soran attempts to hold onto his wife and son as Aaron lets out a frightening wail, not understanding why the room is shaking. "WHAT IS HAPPENING?!" yelled out Aurora from the loud noise being made from the falling debris. Joran brought out his tablet bringing up another holographic image of planet Gardia but the planet's silvery appearance quickly changes to a dark reddish form. Looking deeper into the problem, Joran can now see the problem and it was rapidly growing.
"The planet's core, it's becoming unstable, " informed Joran to his king and queen. Closing his eyes, he knows their end time has arrived. "Quickly, place the prince into the ship, there isn't much time, " following his instructions, the parents head to the ship ready to send their own to safety. Just as they were about to place Aaron inside, Aaron's grip on his mother tightens on not wanting to be separated from his parents.
Wailing at to top of his lungs, Aaron looked up at his parents with teary eyes as if begging them not to leave him. Both the parents, especially Aurora, were now starting to have second thoughts about this plan. But they both quickly hardened their hearts and shook those thoughts out of their heads. Soran then now attempts to loosen his son's grip on his now teary-eyed mother and placing him in the ship causing Aaron to cry even louder.
Aurora with tears falling then attempts to calm her baby down in her soft soothing voice. "Shh it's ok my little warrior, nothing's gonna happen to you," removing her silver necklace placing it around her son's neck, she puts her hands on his cheeks stroking them calming Aaron as he leans into them. "You're gonna have a better life, a new home, meet new people, " she leans forward pressing her lips on top of his head, and smiles sadly, "A new beginning, " assured Aurora successfully calming her son leaving Soran to be the next person to speak their son.
"Aaron, my son, " Soran first started saying as father and son looked at each other. "While you may not remember us, we will never forget you. As the sun now sets on our time, it will rise with you as a new king leading a new era. But there will be those who will stand against you, to cover your light so their shadows darken the world. You will not fight because the universe makes you fight, but because you have a greater purpose. Fight to protect others, give them the courage to face the things that hold them back and they will race to join you in the light. Give them the strength my son, and they'll accomplish wonders. Live on to see a new tomorrow Aaron, be a better King than I have ever been, "said the encouraging father to his only child as the shaking hangar intensifies further.
Closing the ship door behind them, Joran types a few buttons on the tablet as a warm liquid mist covers the inside of Aaron's ship putting him in hyper-sleep. The ceilings start opening up to the open roof revealing the red blood sky. First, Joran launches the crystal orb into the high sky. Next, Joran then looked at the king and queen giving them few more seconds of viewing their son for the last time. With a nod from each parent's head, Soran presses the button again launching the ship sending Aaron to his destined homeworld.
Both parents continue to watch the ship carrying their son passing the planet's atmosphere until he was out of their sight. Soon enough, Aurora suddenly went down on her knees and began sobbing uncontrollably knowing that she can no longer see her baby boy's smiling face. Then Soran knelt pulling her in his arms making her look at him with more tears falling down her face while Soran displayed a gentle smile to calm her. "He'll be fine my love, " said Soran assuring his wife of any doubts and concerns. "It's as you said, he won't be alone in that world. he'll have a new beginning, make allies, he will give the people there the courage to overcome their fears. He will be better than us, "
Now calmed down, Aurora leans forward pressing her forehead against his, "I know, " said Aurora with a sad knowing smile, "I know he'll be fine, " the ground below them begins emitting high intense heat that started to melt the entire hangar.
Knowing it is time, a sweaty Joran approaches the king and queen to places his hands on their shoulders with similar smiles on their faces. Looking up in the red sky as it started to brighten up, "May the spiritual strength of Gardia protect him, " prayed Joran as he and the king and queen close their eyes preparing for their inevitable fate. The whole area brightens to the point of them being covered to never be seen again.
(-Outer Space of Gardia a few minutes later-)
Reaching past the planet's atmosphere, both Aaron's ship and the silver orb begin heading to the coordinates to their refugee planet, leaving behind their previous one. The planet is now engulfed in a crimson red light before large cracks appear all over. The next few seconds, the light glowed even brighter before something just horribly occurred passed.
BOOM
A powerful shockwave explosion could be heard behind the two fleeing vessels. It was gone, all of what remained was millions of rubble flying across every direction. Just as the planet Krypton, The planet Gardia was no more, the end of another alpha species.
Soon enough, the explosive shock wave caused the escaping ships to shake slightly while evading the flying debris coming at them. Unfortunately, one piece of debris managed to hit one ship, Aaron's ship. The impact of the debris was enough to cause the sleeping baby's ship to be knocked off course trajectory. Separated from the silver orb that continued onward towards the planet. With the ship's coordinate off route, Aaron aimlessly flies out into the empty void of space, alone.
To be continued…
I hoped you guys enjoy this chapter as well because I sure did writing it. It took me a while to come up with the origin of the characters and the elements I introduced in this chapter of the story.
To answer your questions to those who asked in the trailer versions here are my answers.
lighting-pays: Yes I'm gonna try my hand in writing an injustice story. But there won't be any dimensional travels. Meaning that there won't be any appearances of the heroes we know and love from the main DC universe. And I'm not gonna make my OC's an op character otherwise it would just be a boring story. Also when my OC fights the regime, there gonna be some brutal fights where there's gonna be not killing but a lot of harsh injuries so expect to see that.
Guest: Sorry my man, that is way too early for there to be any kind of relationship for my OC and any female dc character right now. Besides, he is sixteen years old, so it's gonna be a while for them to be romantic interested when he is past adult age.
If you haven't read my first story, check it out so you can have an idea where I plan to go within the injustice universe. This is the first fanfiction story I'll write and I want to improve on this so your readers can enjoy it more. Let me know in the comments or send me a PM of any grammar errors I could correct for future chapters.
Also, I don't own anything related to the DC Universe. It's only the OC characters are my own.
Goodbye, For now.
