Ratchet clenched onto the strange dragon for dear life. His ears were flat against the back of his head, as if they were taped there. The cold rain of what seemed to be located in the Bogan Galaxy (due to the Protopet signs which hung off the buildings) dampened his fur. Ratchet felt a cold shiver when he laid eyes on them, but he wasn't sure if it was from the memories, or the freezing weather.

"Where are we?" The perplexed Clank asked from his back. That was a question Ratchet couldn't answer, for he was thinking about it himself.

Ratchet looked down to examine the strange but familiar city. Then his mud covered gloves, clenching onto the creature's skin. "Beats me…" Suddenly, he felt a sharp shove ahead of him as they crashed into an oncoming vehicle.

Ratchet let out a scream as he was thrown into the air from the impact, hoping to Zoni that Clank was still strapped securely. He felt his fur tingle as they fell into another rift, the flash of bright purple blinding him for a mere second. His hopes were answered as he felt Clank's Heli-Pack slow his fall.

"Kraken!" A pirate sounding voice yelled.

"Back to the depths with ye!" Another commanded.

Ratchet slammed his fist down onto the wooden floor which he landed on. Everything was happening too fast, the lombax was simply acting upon reflexes at this point. He couldn't take the time to comprehend any of this chaos. His Burst Pistol appeared in his hand, taking the thoughts from his brain that he didn't know he had. Without knowing what else to do, and in such a huge panic, he began shooting. At what exactly? He didn't know. But shots were firing back at him and he had to act quick.

"We've been boarded!" One of the pirates who was attacking him yelled. "Get off me ship, foul creature!"

Before Ratchet could do a thing against that remark, he felt the dreaded feeling of another drift coming on. It starts with the fur rising, and the feeling of being pushed back. But he held on tight. He's had just about enough, and with all his might he tried to fight it.

"Ratchet!" Clank warned, his voice filled with panic.

Ratchet didn't respond. He would win this. He pushed himself forward, biting his lip as his face was in an angry expression. He was getting so sick of this.

His mind was so filled up with frustration that it took up the space of his awareness, and he felt a big hit to the chest. The wind knocked clean out of him just as he felt the rift starting to close, and he was being pushed backwards against his will.

"Ahh!" He screamed, scrambling for anything to grab onto in the second they had. Just one more second until the rift closes…

The lombax felt more pain on his body as his side hit one of the barrels, knocking Clank clean off as Ratchet rolled onto the splinter-filled floor. He couldn't waste any time, his arm shot up, hand grasping for Clank's foot. The robot let out a terrified scream as he tumbled in the air, straight for the rift which was now too big for a lombax, but the perfect size for a little, vulnerable robot.

"Clank!" Ratchet yelled out the biggest scream he had, propping himself up with both arms as the water on the floor soaked his pants. His eyes were as wide as ever, and his pupils small. He was terrified. He was loosing Clank again… After finally getting him back for years. He couldn't go through that again. But he watched as the rift swallowed him up, the warbot's scream echoed in his lowering ears.

He sat there, frozen. Not a care that he could be killed at any moment by the pirate's behind him, let alone the Kraken. For all he cared, they could kill him.

He felt his arm's getting weak as they began to wobble, his wet, gloved hands slipped and he went head first into the soaked wood. His mouth was open, teeth clenching as the pain from being shot and hit from the side set in. He felt the tears begin, blending into the rain water.

Clank was gone. Again. And this time, he didn't think he would get him back.

As the lombax raised himself up once again, looking at his reflection in the water, he both felt and heard booted footsteps walking towards him. His eyes were bloodshot, and it looked as if he just came out the the dirtiest pool in the galaxy… whatever galaxy this was.

"Say, what is this creature, Cap'ain?" The voice walking up towards him asked.

"Eh, how should I know. But he sure does suck a Sharkigator's ass at shootin'!"

"Say, he's kinda cute, Cap'ain!" The higher pitched voice said. "Can we keep him?"

There was a short pause before the other voice spoke.

"I'd say he could be useful."

Ratchet felt a hard metal hand grab the back of his shirt, lifting him up high in the air so that not even the tips of his toes could reach the soaked ship's floor. He felt a large drop of something hit the top of his boot. Claws sinking into his sore back. Red robotic eyes looked straight into his, so terrifying it felt like they may rip out his soul. The robotic captain examined the beaten lombax.

"Scrawny rat. Le's throw him in a cell until I figure out how we'll have fun with it."

Ratchet gulped.

"Yes, Cap'ain!" A laugh following after.

Ratchet took another hit as he was thrown into a cell located on the bottom floor of the ship. It was damp and dark as hell down here, and he couldn't even open his eyes as he laid there, lifelessly. His chest and side hurt horribly as he gathered the strength to lay a hand over his soaked shirt. It was strangely warm, and he lifted his hand up to take a look. Even in the darkness, he could see the stinging color of maroon red mixed with dirt, dripping off his glove. It was covered on his shoes, and pants as well. He hoped it wasn't too fatal. But he couldn't do anything, at least not right now. Tiredness filled his body as he continued to lay there, it wasn't long before he fell into a deep sleep.

Clank reached his hands out in front of him, trying to make wherever he would land as least painful as possible. His metal clashed against the new floor, leaving black marks against silver. "Oh…" He complained, shaking his head. It was moment like these were he was glad he didn't feel the same physical pain of which organics experience.

"Ratchet?" The warbot called, as it was the first word to come to mind. That thought was soon but aside, as he looked up.

The world he was in was unlike any he has seen. The buildings were much, much taller. Brighter, the neon colors filling the sky as hover-cars passed and various ships passed above. Way, above. There were signs everywhere, and he couldn't see the ground. For all he knew, they were miles up, if there even was a ground. All his optic's could pick up were clouds. And those were far enough below. The technology seemed much more advanced on this planet, but what made his hopes drop was the giant Nefarious holo-gram high upon one of the buildings that caught his eye.

"We are too late…" Clank's voice was low with hopelessness and defeat. There was no response. Clank turned is head around. "Ratchet…?" He questioned. The lombax was no where to be seen. Or at least, that lombax.

A sudden thud sounded from behind him, startling the robot. He turned his head to see the causer of this noise. When he couldn't believe what caught his eyes.

A lombax.

A lombax with light purple fur, and piercing blue eyes, was looking right towards him. She had a bright yellow robotic arm, which shined in the neon lighting. She held a large blue mallet, while her other hand was used to balance as her knees were bent. Her tail twitched as the look on her face went from confused to intrigued. A familiar look shone in her eyes as she spoke a single word.

"Who?"
