I'm the damned Mailman!
BNHA/Fallout: New Vegas
So as one can imagine this is gonna be a odd fic and I have zero clue how this will go or even if it will be liked but it's been living essentially rent free in my head for a while now. For those not familiar with the Fallout series I shall provide a heavily abridged version.
Bombs drop amists war between USA and China. Nukes go boom. Time passes and survivors who hid in bunkers called Vaults eventually start to reemerge into a dangerous new earth. Some notable survivors include; the vault dweller, The chosen one, the lone wanderer, the sole survivor and courier 6. Depending on the game title depends on how long has passed, vault 111 for instance opened up 20 years after the bombs dropped where as vault 13 only opened to let 1 person out almost 2 generations after the bombs dropped to get a replacement part for a water recycler.
Clarification on a few things;
1: Izuku in this does have a quirk, that being the ungodly storage capacity like we see in the games for gameplay reasons, I doubt one person can carry 50 cans of food, 12 different rifles, several hand guns and a shoulder mounted nuke launcher with ammunition for each all while still being able to jump around like a maniac otherwise.
2: Izuku will be siding with the NCR in this if only for the fact that the Ceaser's Legion is full of assholes and murderers and I can't see him agreeing with them or the Legion of steel, maybe the institute but I'm not entirely sure on them.
3: Dogmeat the dog is best boi and Eri is best girl.
4: Overhoe is completely screwed once Izuku gets to him.
Chapter 1: Arrival
We open on a family sitting around a table, a young black haired boy sitting down with a bowl of cereal, a teenage girl reading through a gossip magazine and a blonde woman setting the table. A man walks in dressed in a simple suit and a hat tucked under his arm, the morning paper in his hand. The song Maybe is heard softly emanating from a nearby radio.
"Good morning dear." The woman smiled politely as she places a tray of bacon, eggs and toast on the table.
"Gee hi dad!" The boy grinned happily.
"Hello father!" The girl chirped.
"Good morning family!" The man replied with a chipper tone as they sat down, their hat placed on their lap and their newspaper placed nearly Infront of them.
It was at this point another man enters the scene, hair slicked back and in a formal business suit, a cog like symbol on their breast pocket. "Our American way of life, isn't it grand? Peace, prosperity and bacon and eggs, seems perfect, but... What if it's not?"
The father of the family proceeded to open their news paper, the headline? Red Winter, Chinese forces invade Alaska!
The man continued in a serious but apologetic tone, "Your future may not be as secure as you think, where would you be when the atomic bombs fall?"
A loud explosion rocks the house at these words as a mushroom cloud and fireball is visible out of the window, the family gasps and freezes in shock at the sight before them as anything loose outside is thrown around like rags in the wind.
A gunshot punctuates the air as a screen is smashed and it all goes black.
A individual covered in a brown knee length coat which concealed their body, a black armor covered their chest and their head was covered in a black segmented armor fitted with a box shaped air filter above the mouth and two large red lenses to see out of, the top of the helmet was dome like and adorned with the serial number 3719 in chipped and faded white paint. In their hand was a smoking 9mm standard issue handgun, a common item for one such as them.
The scene wasn't as tranquil as what the now ruined Television would have one believe, a hot sandy expanse punctuated by dunes and distant mountains dotted with the ruins of civilisation we're all around them, skeletons laid in now molded and ruined couches before the TV. In the distance a fire was burning, large plumes of smoke raising out of an encampment adorned with red flags baring a pouncing lion.
"Getting bloody sick of that ad." The figure sighed as they holstered their handgun on a hip pouch made from worn leather.
Before them was the seemingly endless expanse of the Mojave desert that stretched out to a distant mountain range, a pair of large metal statues shaking hands was seen at its peak.
Another figure clad in worn and brown stained clothing approached, their form was massive, easily 8ft tall and muscular with dark grey blue skin with a simple sunflower hat atop their head, their teeth was yellowed and a band running from the hat forced their lips into a grin and leather black lensed goggles covered their eyes. In their hands was a ramshackle looking device, the body of a rifle stripped of the barrel and replaced with several box shaped chunks of metal ending in a large bore like hole lined with small prongs all hooked upto a bulky battery pack strapped to the side with what looked like duck tape and cable ties.
"What did the television do to you deary?" The deep gravely, female voice of the new individual asked.
"I... I just lost my temper. I'm sorry." The first sighed, their voice putting them in their mid teens.
"Alright but you really should be more careful, the flying glass could of ruined your clothes." The woman replied. "I know you miss your home but hopefully some day you can find it again."
"Yes Lily." The first replied softly. "We should keep going, no telling what heard that."
"Scorpions and the ants no doubt." The woman replied as they scanned the horizon. "A death claw at worst."
"That isn't reassuring." The first replied as they continued on their way towards the distant statues. "My t51 is almost beyond repair at this point."
"Oh that lovely Knight fellow could surely fix it up." Lily replied as she absently swatted at some flies.
"Yeah but it costs so much." The figure sighed, they could already feel their caps pouch getting lighter at the mere thought of it as the sun dipped bellow the horizon basking the valley in a orange light.
As they continued their trek across the roads long broken from neglect and time the sun finally dipped past the horizon basking the valley in the dark of night. A soft buzzing click was heard from a device mounted on the wrist of the teenager, a green glow coming from various small bulbs on the device in question. A harsh wind wipped sand across their vision for a few moments before settling down, leaving a new layer of sand across the roads. Distant coyotes could be heard howling at one thing or another, occasionally punctuated by the sound of a lone gunshot. So was the nature of the wastelands.
It wasn't until almost 8pm that they arrived at the base of the road that lead up the mountain. Ruins of trucks, cars and motorbikes abandoned when the bombs dropped littered the road, the most intact being a truck hauling old cars, it's wheels long since stolen and it's trailer having several holes in it.
"I could do with some prickly pears." Lily admitted as they started to go up the road, loose pebbles and dust rolling down the hill in their wake. A loud rumble filled their air as a blue explosion lit up the top of the hill, the statue buckled and ripped apart as parts of it went flying everywhere. "Leo says it's time to punch shit!" They growled as they pulled a massive rotor blade from a sling on their back.
"For once Leo and I agree." The teen frowned as they tried to rush up the hill, getting closer to the screaming, the sound of gunfire and roaring blue flames. Someone, they weren't sure who came running down the hill flailing their arms in pain and fear as they were engulfed in blue flames. They didn't even make it ten feet before they dropped over dead.
Cresting the hill what they found was horrifying, even for the wastelands. Women and children being burnt alive in blue flames, the few NCR who survived were opening fire into a cloud of black smoke, blue bolts of energy racing out, occasionally hitting a trooper. Whatever the bolt hit was engulfed in flames and shortly after would die in agony.
"KRIKK AGOO!" A raspy voice called as a small glowing orb was thrown at a cluster of troops hiding behind a burnt out car. There was a flash that blinded everyone before the sound of a chunky liquid rained down upon the spot, chunks of half charred flesh and what was left of their weapons began to rain down.
"FOR THE BABIES!" Lily roared as they charged the cloud of smoke. The teenager growled as they shouldered a single tube missile launcher and fired into the cloud.
A yellow explosion lit up the air as the smoke force forcefully parted revealing short green creatures in red suits using what looked like a pre war cartoon ray gun, their teeth bared in a hissing anger as a metal contraption behind them went up in flames and shrapnel.
"Aliens?" The teen whispered in disbelief as they loaded another rocket. Lily was already upon the creatures, swinging her blade through them like a hot knife through Bramen cheese, leaving her arms and blade coated in green blood. Noticing another of the creatures atop the burning barracks Izuku took aim and fired the second rocket. It head the side of the building which gave way causing the alien to fall and get burried in the rubble.
"THESE MONSTERS HURT THE CHILDREN!" Lily roared as she started hacking at the corpses, mutilating them further. The teen sighed as they made their way over, the sounds of screams and gunfire having gone silent, leaving only the sound of blades striking wet flesh and of the roaring fires.
"Lily, LILY!" The teen shouted as the mutant let loose one final scream of anguish as she burried the blade into the face of one of the aliens. The large woman breaking into sobs as she fell to her knees, hands still clutching the blade. "It's alright, they can't hurt anyone again."
"If we'd been quicker, they wouldn't of all died!" The woman sobbed loudly, her shoulder shaking.
"I know, I know." The teen sighed as he patted the woman on the shoulder. "We did as much as we could but we can't save everyone."
"K-kiro... Kaavak." A voice wheezed. They barely had time to even widen their eyes as the alien which had been burried in rubble fired a bolt towards them. The teen threw himself over Lily, trying to protect her as the bolt hit them. A flash of green enveloped the area, blasting the mountainside in what was easily mistaken for nuclear detonation and in the end, nothing remained beyond a smoldering mound of rock and ashes. A new glowing sea was forming.
[Elsewhere and else-when]
A small underpass, unassuming in its nature was silent, it's only remarkable feature asides it's long length was a single manhole cover in its middle. A blue flash blasted out both ends of the tunnel as two figures appeared, huddled against one another, waiting for the end to come. Both were singed and covered in soot, green liquid dripped down the blade of the larger individual. The smaller's helmet was cracked open across the right eye lense revealing green locks and pale white skin adorned with a diamond pattern of freckles.
"W-we're alive?" The teen asked hesitantly.
"Where are we? Is this new Vegas?" The woman asked in her gravely tone.
"No, I don't know where we are." The teen blinked as they raised their hand to the crack in their helmet, the sound of a rattling drain cover filled their ears
