Greetings Ladies, Gentlemen, and anyone else who choice to read this… I welcome you to my fan made sequel to Monster Yurisume. Still have no fear I have the support of the original fanfic's writer Natron77 who I been a fan of for a long time as evident by my other works. With that said I hope to make a great story that lives up to Monster Yurisume.

With that out of the way onwards we go with Volume 1:New Horizons

...

It was another busy day in Tokyo, Japan. Some liminals had been able to adapt to the active lifestyle that was required to live in the city, while others struggled to make it work and ended up requesting transfers to less hectic locations. Still there were others who made it and were successful, but now were getting tired of the hectic pace after a few years. This was the case of Lethe, a succubus who had found prominence as one of the top lawyers for interspecies-related cases in the country, but was now struggling to have a desire to keep up that reputation. Even her normal strategy of putting up a youthful aura to trick people into underestimating her was beginning to be a bother; She wanted to be seen as the mature and skillful lawyer that she truly was.

It was now late night in her office and she was currently going over potential clients for her next case. So far nothing sparked her interest.

"Am I crazy or all these problems that people have are beginning to blend together ?" Lethe asked herself while stretching in her chair. She had just gone through another batch of files and like the previous dozen and a half, she had passed on them. The lateness was starting to get to her and she was wanting to call it a night.

"You got another swipe! Please check in as you have fifty potential matches awaiting you" Her phone called out to her after, like it had all night. Her LimiMatch app had been going crazy since she reactivated it. Like her job, her love life was also becoming a stale situation and not even the wide variety of possible partners was appealing to her. Still she picked up her phone to at least see what was being offered.

"Maybe I will be surprised for once today," she muttered as she unlocked her phone. But what it opened to was not the dating app, rather it was her picture album. She raised her eyebrow for a moment before remembering she had been clearing it out to open up some space. She looked at the picture she had stopped on and smiled; it was a selfie shot with the background being the mountains of Okyakdo.

"Crazy to think this was only a few months ago," Lethe hummed as she kept scrolling back in time to see herself in a happier state, even going as far back as when she helped Mara and Chione set up ComicMon. As she closed the album she noticed her background was yet another selfie she had taken the last time she was up in Okayado, only this time she was joined by Yusiu making goofy faces. She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of her friend who had not only found a perfect partner, but also had her own business in such a wonderful location, while Lethe was single with no long term relationships in the cards and stuck in Tokyo being a famous legal mind.

"What I wouldn't do to have the opportunity to just take it slow and maybe start settling down…" Lethe paused before finishing her sentence as the realization hit her.

"Can it really be that simple?" Lethe mused on her new train of thought. She opened up a couple searches on the Okayado housing market and the potential need of a liminal-driven legal firm up there.

While the housing market didn't offer much at the moment, she did find out that no practicing liminal lawyers had staked a claim there. After setting her phone back on her desk, she folded her hands and began to really consider the information she had. Was she really going to make a life altering decision like moving and starting a new law firm?

"I mean the location is nice and I do have people up there who I have good friendships with, plus while Tokyo is pretty integrated for liminals there is just something about Okayado that makes it feel more authentic. Plus the smaller partner pool up there could provide me more opportunities to find someone more serious." Lethe smirked as the idea was sounding good on paper and could be a good way to reignite her passion for her profession and love life. Still she understood she needed to take to take it slow to avoid any potential pitfalls.

"First thing in the morning I am calling Agent Will to see if this is realistic." Lethe checked her phone to see it was midnight. "Make that first thing once the sun is up."

As the sun came up the following day it was not over the skyscrapers of Tokyo, rather it was over the mountain peaks surrounding Okayado. The town was preparing for both the new day and the coming winter season that was creeping ever closer. While the town saw visitors all year long, the snowfall was when everyone truly wanted to see the beauty that it had to offer. For many local businesses this meant preparations for the flood of people that were going to come and stay. Yuisu Nakamura was currently doing that with her two maids as they went over the plans for the inn during this time.

"Remember, the two main points of focus for us will be…" Yuisu pointed at Sya who was on the money, "To keep items like blankets and beverage options like tea well stocked and to make sure guests are following the hot springs schedule."

"Excellent job, Sya." Yuisu praised the white tiger who nodded with pride before turning to Rem, who was sitting on Sya's shoulder, who seemed ready to be asked a question. "And why is that Rem?"

"Because we want our guests to stay warm and avoid unesscary flashes of tits and dicks," Rem answered with confidence as Yuisu tried to stifle a giggle.

"*Cough* Well not how I would put it, but yes we need to make sure guests are being respectful to others while staying here." Yuisu wanted to stop any unneeded drama before it happened and the best was to run a tight time frame for the hot springs.

"Must you always take things lightly, Rem?" Sya asked

Rem just shrugged, "Not every moment of the workday needs to be serious, Sya."

"Still, I think there is a time and place for this. We should be aiming for a level of professionalism at all times," Sya mentioned as she looked towards Yuisu who knew how by-the-books the former took things.

"I have to agree with Sya on this one, Rem. Though I do understand your reasoning, we are having an important discussion," Yuisu stated in a firm tone. Rem understood she had stepped out of line.

"Right, sorry about that, guys," Rem apologized before Sya gave her a gentle smile.

"No harm done I just want to make sure we are the best maid duo we can be."

"Plus, remember that the better you two are and contribute to the inn's success, the bigger the bonus you are likely to see." Yuisu saw Rem stand in attention at the mention of that particular incentive and chuckled.

Anything else we need to go over, boss?" Saluting, Rem declared "Because I am ready for anything!".

"Actually, that was all I needed to go over this morning," Yuisu admitted as Rem fell off off Sya's shoulder in shock. Luckily the white tiger caught here in time.

"Are you okay?" Sya worried for her gremlin co-worker, but that soon turned to a chuckle to see Rem looking at Yuisu with playful annoyance.

"You got me all worked up for nothing!" Rem shouted as Yuisu just teased her, "That's what happens when you almost make me lose focus with your joking around."

"Fair point and I will concede that I need to be more serious. But still, warn a girl next time that we are almost finished because I could have already begun thinking about lunch plans with my girlfriends," Rem pointed out as hopped out of Sya's hands.

"I am sure Mara and Tsuen are already on top of that, Rem. But before I call this meeting to an end I think Sya wanted to mention something," Yuisu said and Sya blushed as she almost completely forgot about her announcement.

"Right so you may or may not know my eighteenth birthday is coming up very soon and my hostess is throwing me a party this year since my mother and father cannot make it out here."

Before she continued Rem interrupted, "Wait, your parents are not coming for your 18th birthday?!"

"Sadly they're being called elsewhere because of their jobs: my mother is a part of my species' delegation so she is attending an international conference in New York while my father is closing a major business deal for Sport Club Kobold in my homeland. Still, they both send their love and l will of course, speak to them the day of" Sya explained in an understanding but sad tone.

"Still that sucks they can't make it," Rem said as she patted Sya's hands in empathy. Sya appreciated the kindness, her spirits lifting as she heard a gentle voice enter the area

"Which is why I am taking charge of the celebration of dear Sya."

. Yuisu looked up and saw a mature woman with a kind aura around her walking towards them. It took her a moment to recognize her as Sya's hostess.

"Miss Amano, what are you doing here so early?" Sya blushed as her hostess greeted her with a hug.

"I wanted to come and and say hello, since I needed to make sure you invited your friends. Sorry if I upstaged you." Miss Amamo let go of the red-faced tiger before turning to Yuisu and Rem and bowing with a smile. "Kasumi Amamo."

"Yuisu Nakahara." Yuisu politely bowed back.

While Rem just waved at the woman, "I am just Rem."

Kasumi chuckled as she and Yuisu got back upright while Sya facepalmed, "It's wonderful to meet you both."

"So as Miss Amamo mentioned, I wanted to invite both of you to the party, that is if you want," Sya offered as she regained her composure and reentered the conversation.

"How could I say no to you Sya?" Yuisu smiled as Sya seemed to brighten up with the acceptance.

"Hell yeah, I am down to party!" Rem exclaimed, giving two thumbs up which Sya groaned at while Kasumi and Yuisu giggled.

"Wonderful! We are having it at that new restaurant that just opened up downtown. Buffet style so no need to worry about options. Will you two bring any significant others or in your case Yuisu, your spouse?" Kasumi asked as Yuisu's eyes widened as she realized the woman had seen her wedding ring.

"That won't be necessary, Miss Amamo!" Sya exclaimed. Fear gripped her, she had never mentioned anythingabout Yuisu and Rem's relationships.

"I am sure my girlfriends, Mara and Tsuen, would love to come." Rem casually dropping the fact she was in trio as Sya and Yuisu both lost color in their faces.

"Oh, you're polyamrous?" Kasumi asked in shock as she turned towards Sya who was not sure what to say.

"Yeah, I am proud of it! Of course I am not married to them like Yuisu is to Haru," Rem cheerily kept on going not realizing this information was all new to the woman.

"I see." Kasumi kept looking at Sya who looked like she was about to pass out with Yuisu trying to comfort her, which caused the older woman to rush over and give them a warm embrace.

"Okay, I didn't expect that." Rem looked on as she saw the older woman reassuring the two women, "It's okay Sya, no need to worry my dear."

"But I never…" Sya tried to explain as Kasumi patted her head.

"I know you didn't and that was the right thing to do . Though I imagine Yuisu wished she could have told me about her wife herself." Kasumi looked at her fellow host with a knowing look.

"Yeah that would have been nice," Yuisu sighed as Rem just realized what was going on and quickly panicked.

"Wait, you didn't tell her beforehand about us!" Rem yelled at Sya who frowned her co-worker. "I am not one to bring up other's personal information lightly. Especially sexuality and relationship choices!"

"Enough of both of you, what is done is done. Though based on your reaction you don't seem upset, Kasumi." Yuisu was thankful for that.

"Indeed. If anything I am glad the air is clear and we can just focus on Sya's birthday." Kasumi waved off the revelation like it was nothing which, shocked both Rem and Sya.

Me too and I will let Haru know about it just to make sure she has the day off. But if it is Saturday like I remember from Sya's resume then we should be good." Yuisu smiled as Kasumi nodded before turning to Rem, "Will you be joining us with your two girlfriends ?"

"Uh, I mean…I guess." Rem did not know what to say as Kasumi just gave her a thumbs up which she returned in kind.

"Excellent, I will call the restaurant and book us sometime in the evening for that day. Here is my contact card Yusiu. I will get in touch with you in case anything happens before Saturday." Kasumi handed Yuisu the card before putting her arm around Sya, "Come on Sya, we need to get you home before it gets too late. You still have to study for your graduation test on Friday."

"Of course." Regaining her composure, Sya waved goodbye before following her host.

"Yuisu, I am so sorry for what happened," Rem apologized once it was just the two of them.

Yuisu took a deep breath, "I appreciate that and thankfully Kasumi is a very open minded person, but you need to be more careful." Yuisu pocketed the card before looking down at Rem who was clearly upset by her mistake

"Still it was a little surprising to see someone so chill with me being poly right off the bat," Rem admitted as Yuisu shrugged. "Some people are just like that, Rem, and in Sya's case that's a good thing."

"Why do you say that?" Rem wondered as they walk to the house after she hopped into one of Yuisu's hands.

Just a feeling," Yuisu lied. She didn't want didn't want to make her assumption known, but she could tell Sya needed someone like Kasumi to support her like her uncle did for her.

In Miss Amamo's car, Sya was currently texting another of her guests who was coming for her birthday. The two met while she was staying at the Inn and had been in an online friendship for a while now after hitting it off when they found commonality with their wealthy upbringing and influential backgrounds

Can't wait to see you. You're going to love your gift -Horo

Sya's heart fluttered as read the message. While things between them had been platonic, she was hoping with her 18th birthday she could at least start making the effort to have a more serious relationship with the dragon woman.

As Sya sent her text, Kasumi couldn't help but smile to herself. "I am grateful that she has people who can understand and support her beyond just me. If only I was that lucky when I was that age."

...

With that we have reached the end and already a lot is going on with both Lethe potentially moving up north to Okyakdo and Sya celebrating her 18th very soon.
