Hey, so this is an idea that I've been messing around with in my head for a bit and decided to just kind of run with it for the fic. To give an idea of the tone, it will lean heavily on inspiration from AoT and Code Geass. Let me know what you think!

There aren't many stars out tonight. Toshinori isn't sure If that's due to the reported record-breaking levels of smog in Tokyo or some divine sign that he truly is alone in the world at that moment. He is lying in a warehouse, or at least what used to be a warehouse with a hole in his chest the size of a dinner plate. No one is coming for him, no one is crying over his body. Nope, Toshinori is bleeding out in an abandoned warehouse with only his greatest enemy casually lying next to him.

Casually might not have been the best word to describe his position since he had an equally large hole in his chest and one of his arms ripped off, but the man known as All for One looked undeniably at ease with his current predicament. If Toshinori could move his arms anymore, he would try to knock that obnoxious smile off his face, but he had long lost feeling in his limbs.

Toshinori desperately wanted to go out on his own terms and ignore the man, but he just couldn't stop thinking about one moment in the fight. One moment that seemed like it should have gone one way but ultimately went another. This instance changed the fight and would probably be seen as the defining moment or the beginning of the end if anyone had been watching and recording the battle. But no one did and the silence in the warehouse was overwhelming All Might. Not like he thought he would die in an epic fashion with a crowd of rabid supporters howling his name, but even he could see this was kind of a depressing way to pass away. So, with the silence pressing down on him like one of his own Denver Smashes, he decided to cut through it with a question, the one question he wanted an answer before he moved on to whatever happens after death.

"Did you want your arm to be ripped off?"

All Might could almost hear the smirk in his nemesis' response, "I had to ensure that I had a chance to rip out more of your organs, so the arm was a necessary sacrifice."

All Might pauses at the response, "Wow you were really trying to kill me, huh?"

"You could say that."

The silence falls back on the duo again as All Might begins to feel the fuzzy feeling of 'death?' begin to work its way closer to his head. But before he could let go of the world for good, one more question popped into his head. One that made him also feel stupid for not asking it earlier, one that was the reason for this fight feeling so strange in the first place.

"Why haven't you tried to take One for All from me?"

All for One let out a chuckle at the question, "So on death's door you finally start asking the hard questions, eh Toshinori?"

"You're content with just dying here without ever getting the quirk?"

"You're mistaken Toshinori. I'm not content right now. I am ecstatic with how this fight turned out."

Yagi couldn't help but have his jaw drop, "Why?"

"Because this all went to my plan after all." All for One replied cheekily.

"Your plan was to die then?" All Might replied not believing the words spoken by the man.

"Well, the main part of the plan was simply wiping you and that quirk of yours off the board. I was willing to sacrifice myself in order to make sure that happened."

"You're really expecting me to believe that after 200 years you're really just waving the white flag and giving up in order to make sure One for All isn't passed to anyone else?"

"Who said anything about giving up?"

All Might paused at the question. As their conversation grew, he had a sense that there was something that he wasn't seeing. That there was a bigger picture here and he was just too focused in one aspect to truly decipher it.

Think Toshinori!

What would be the big picture here? Knocking One for All and himself off the board meant that AfO was thinking ahead but towards what? The man admitted already that he would also be dying soon so what could possibly be waiting for him in the future? AfO had never taken on a successor before and while that wasn't completely out of the question, it still wouldn't add up to why he was fine dying at this point of time. Toshinori slowly rolled his head toward the super villain and took in his appearance again. This time though Yagi noticed something that he hadn't before. Something he knew AfO had never had before, something that was so intoxicating to look at he couldn't help stopping the question from falling out of his mouth.

"Why is your left eye violet?"

AfO grinned again and looked over to the number one hero before looking back up to the sky.

"I'm not one for revealing my grandiose plans like some cheap comic book villain, but since I know that both of our time is running out and that I have been dying to tell someone about my latest and most ambitious project, I suppose you'll have to do All Might. I suppose the answer to your question lies in the past. When the game truly revealed itself to me."

"I suppose this will have to do." All for One said with a sigh as he slowly closed the briefcase. The two men that sat opposite him in the dim room breathed out a sigh of relief and began to look towards the door as if begging for it to come closer to them, that freedom could come closer to them. But if the men had been smarter, they should have realized that freedom was never an option, that they would never reach the door for the exit. They didn't know that whenever the man revealed his face to low life's like themselves it meant that they would not be leaving this encounter alive. Someone had mentioned once that it was like a god looking down on his children for the first time before sending them to their afterlife.

AfO nonchalantly flexed his hands as if he was about to crack his knuckles before sending spear like tendrils at both men killing them before they could even scream in horror. While the punctures are clean, the two dead bodies began to leak out blood at a rate that caused All for One to get off the sofa that he was seated at and briskly walk to the exit before his shoes could be sullied. He didn't need to say anything to know that the room would be clean and that the bodies would be gone by the time he gets back.

The man is immediately hit with the strong scent of salt in the air as he exits the warehouse he was in and walks closer to the pier that looks out onto the pacific. His latest lair might not have been his favorite, but there was no denying that the man had a true love of the ocean.

He took a seat at a bench that looked out over the water and let out a long sigh. His newest endeavor was taking longer than he anticipated but he supposed this wasn't the worst news in the world since all his deadlines were self-made and more to give himself a challenge than actually really accomplishing anything. The fact of the matter is that the man knew he had pretty much done everything anyone could ever want to do in life. If he compiled all the money that he had into one account he had little doubt he would be the wealthiest man in Japan and in the running for wealthiest in the world. The entire Japanese underworld groveled at his feet and was also aware that his name was enough to frighten people as far away as mainland China and the United States. He had the reputation, the money, and the power so why did he feel so empty?

Truly the only thing that kept him going was the hunt for One for All. Now that was a challenge that he enjoyed. He enjoyed the bravado of the fights and the actual strength he would have to apply to defeat whoever the current holder was. However, with Shimura Mai's successor fleeing to the United States like a coward, it left All for One essentially stuck in Japan twiddling his thumbs like a schoolgirl waiting for her date to arrive for lunch. He knew that he could play some games with the two Shimura boys she left behind but felt like it would be better sitting on the information and waiting to do something with it later.

'Yes, like a proper villain' he thought sadistically.

The man pulled his hand through his snow-white hair and turned his attention back to the pier in front of him. In the distance he could see the flashing lights of trading ships making their way to and from ports and the distant laughter of children playing on a beach nearby. Since it was night, he couldn't see where the children were but imagined they must be having a ball at whatever they were up to. 'When was the last time I laughed like that?'

"Nice night, isn't it?"

All for One was jarred out of his thoughts by a girl that couldn't have been older than seven sitting next to him on the bench.

And for all the life experience and wisdom that the man has he can't help but utter, "Huh?" the girl that he swears was not there a second ago.

The girl grins and looks at All for One, and he is immediately drawn into the violet color of the girl's left eye. The rest of her face is rather unremarkable with hair that is a lighter shade of pink and a right eye that is almost charcoal in color. There was a dusting of freckles on the girls' cheeks but All for One can't help but stare at the violet eye. It almost seemed like it belonged to another person and had been surgically implanted on this young girl. It was an eye that was filled with experience and wisdom. It was an eye filled with mystery and excitement. It was an eye that All for One concluded was unlike any he had ever seen before.

"I suppose you're curious about the eye, hmm?" The girl said sagely before turning back out to the water.

All for One was finally able to tear his gaze away from the young girl's face and look back out to the water.

"Who are you, girl?"

The girl kept her gaze over the water when she responded, "My name really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but I suppose you could call me Anya."

"Why wouldn't a name matter?"

"My name won't matter because this is the first and last move I'll make in this story. I'll become an afterthought or even a myth to those who you recount these events to."

All for One scoffed, "You think I will tell stories of a young girl bothering me on a random night in July?"

Anya snorted, "This is not a random night. This night will be known as the day when you open your eyes, when you start to play the role you have always meant to play."

"Last time I checked I wasn't living in a movie or a play, Anya."

Anya then turned to the man, "No you're not in a movie or a play. This is so much more important than the arts."

All for One couldn't help but have interest begin to swell, "And what would this be about then?"

"Revolution."

All for One couldn't help but laugh, a real hearty laugh, "You think I will go on to be a revolutionary?"

Anya shook her head, "No that isn't your role in this story. That role is for another."

"And who would that be?"

"He hasn't arrived yet." Anya then took another look back at the ocean and then up to the stars that were out, "What would you prefer for me to call you? All for One? Shigaraki? Or maybe Midoriya Hisashi?"

All for One paused for a moment as he considered the names she just said, "I don't know a Midoriya Hisashi."

Anya nodded, "I suppose you don't. But you will."

"You're saying I will become Midoriya Hisashi?"

"He will become one of your aliases. Your most important alias for this story."

All for One considered her words, "You speak as if you know this story from start to end."

Anya smiled but it was more of a glum look on her face, "It's more like I have skipped around reading random pages from start to finish. I know enough to get a general idea of the story, but not enough to truly see the whole picture."

"Was this night one of the pages that you read?"

"Yes. And now is the point of the night that you ask me about my eye."

All for One had to admit that he was about to try again to pry for answers about the eye, "Will you give me a real answer?"

Anya turned back to look at the man, "I think it might be easier to show you than tell you."

All for One turned to face the girl, "And what exactly will you be showing me?"

"Flashes from the story. It will overwhelm you, but it will at least show you some of what is to come."

"And how do you show me?"

Anya turned to the man and extended her left hand with her palm facing up.

Her mouth twitched upwards at his confused look, "Take my hand and hold on tight."

All for One couldn't help but feel the sweat slowly trickle down his neck as he stared at the hand. Was he scared? He couldn't remember the last time that he felt this way but the strange energy the girl was giving off made him think twice before accepting her offer.

He slowly wrapped his own hand around her own and felt nothing.

A second later he felt everything.

It was as if he was on a roller coaster that was flying down a track. He was able to look up and catch glances of pictures. Or at least he thought they were pictures initially before realizing they were in fact memories. He knew they were not memories he had experienced. yet they felt incredibly intimate and important to him.

The man decided to try to take in as much as he could before he passed out from the speed that he was traveling at.

A woman with kind green eyes dances in his arms.

A baby with diamond-like freckles sleeps on his shoulder.

A boy with cerulean hair crying in an alley while he reaches out a hand.

A fight with All Might and watching his own arm ripped off.

A young woman with dark hair carrying him tightly.

A howl of laughter as a city is destroyed in front of his very eyes.

And then nothing. All for One blinks and realizes he's back at the pier but on the ground near the bench. He is on his hands and knees and coughing, trying to get his breath back after what looks like vomiting. He doesn't remember vomiting but the evidence in front of him would point to him expelling the remnants of the seafood dinner that he had.

All the defeated man can mumble at the very moment was, "What the hell was that?"

Anya appears to be in much better shape as she peers at him from her seated position on the bench.

"That was the story. Or at least parts of it."

All for One finally gets off his knees and pulls himself back to the bench.

"Were those memories?"

Anya nods looking back out at a particular ship that has captured her attention, "Memories of the user with the quirk. So, some of them were yours and some might have been of the one that comes after."

All for One took another breath to collect himself, "So I'm supposed to take the quirk tonight? That's the point of this?"

Anya just nods as she looks back up to the sky.

"Your role will become clear once you have it."

All for One considered the girl's words, "So it is some sort of memory-based quirk?"

Anya shakes her head slowly, "The memories are a part of it but that's just so you know what to do."

All for One considers the girl sitting next to him, "It seems to have changed your personality quite a bit."

"Since I'm young the difference is more apparent. But yes, sometimes I can't tell if I'm acting out of my own free will or if he or she is guiding me through my own actions."

All for One narrowed his eyes, "Who are he and her?"

Anya looks toward the man, "He is the rightful owner of the quirk and she is the physical manifestation of the quirk. She sometimes talks to me in my dreams or shows me things in order to make sure I do what has to be done." She pauses for a moment, "I have never seen him, but she shows me his memories from time to time."

All for One took a breath and tried his best to accept the knowledge that he was given, "Do he and her have names?"

"She likes to be called Revy. She thinks it's cute since the quirk itself is called Revelations. He has many names and I'm sure you'll figure out who it is once you gain the quirk."

All for One sighed and leaned back on the bench. He wanted to accuse her of lying or making the whole thing up to mess with him. That a quirk like this seemed impossible and should not exist. Yet he knows in his heart that all of this is true and that he has little choice but to accept the offer.

"Will it change me?" he asks quietly.

Anya considers the question, "I suppose it will. Not as much as it changed me but the quirk will pull you to act in certain ways in order to ensure the future turns out the way it's supposed to."

"So that's why you speak of this as if it's a story? Everything has truly been planned out?"

"To a point. It's not like the quirk can see to the end of time, but it has the ability to see many years and the events that will take place."

"How can you see memories that haven't occurred yet?"

Anya considered the question, "Revy told me to imagine it like a book that is all on one page. You can see everything that is happening. The beginning, the middle and the end. But you can't control the characters in the story. That's the whole purpose of the quirk right now, ensuring that you and I follow the directions and make sure the story stays on the right track."

All for One smiled bitterly, "So I'm not the main character in this story either?"

Anya shook her head, "Not for the entire story, but you will be instrumental in making things go according to plan."

"And what if I don't like the plan?"

Anya laughed, "Oh you will like the plan. I can guarantee you'll like this story once you start seeing more of it."

All for One look back at the water. Was this the challenge he had been waiting for? Was this what his true purpose was? Was this quirk the true reason for him still wanting to live after 200 years?

All for One squeezed his eyes shut and took a deep breath. He didn't exactly understand what he was agreeing to, but he knew that this was the biggest decision he would ever make. Even larger than giving his younger brother a quirk all that time ago.

"Alright. I need to place my hand on your head then."

Anya nodded and leaned a bit forward as he slowly reached out his right hand. He gently placed it on the girl's forehead and looked inside. In the void of the body the violet light stood out like black ink on white paper. The quirk itself was shaped like a ruby, yearning to be in his grasp. All for One slowly closed his own quirk over Revelations and without a second thought pulled.

All for One thought he might have heard Anya whisper 'Good Luck' but he was unable to reply as he felt himself slipping into blackness and slumping over on the bench.

The children continued to laugh on the beach and Anya slowly got up and walked away after repositioning the man to make it look like he was sleeping on the bench. She knew he wouldn't wake for a while.

He needed his rest before his journey truly started.

Present Day

All Might wasn't sure what to make of the story. He didn't take All for One to be a liar, but some parts of his tale seemed simply impossible. A quirk that lies outside of time? A quirk that belongs to someone who hasn't even had it yet?

"I can show you if you want, Toshinori."

"Show me what?"

"A glimpse of what is to come. I will warn you that in your state this may very well kill you." All for One replied with a snicker.

Yagi considered the offer. Dying in that way wasn't how he would want to go, but he really didn't have much of a choice at this point. No one knew this fight was going to happen so no one would be coming to save him. He was going to die in this warehouse, so he might as well see what the real reason was behind it.

"Fine. What do I have to do?"

"Can you still move your arms?"

All Might slowly raised his left arm and placed it near to where All for One was. He could feel the man reach is right and slowly put it down on top of his hand. Yagi was about to ask about what he was supposed to feel but suddenly felt a yelp leave his mouth as it felt like he was yanked away by a speeding car.

~Revelations~

The only reason Yagi knew for sure he was alive was from the rich metallic scent that was filling his nose and mouth. Slowly opening his eyes, he remembered that he was still in the warehouse.

Toshinori opened his mouth to speak or scream out but no sound came from his throat.

There was just silence in the warehouse and the occasional raspy breath from All for One.

Minutes passed before All Might could finally ask one of the many questions that he had.

"What- what were those things?"

He could hear AfO turn to face him, "Huh, I thought you were dead." The man chuckles and then continues, "You're going to have to be more specific when you say things. There were a lot of things that you probably saw."

All Might took a slow breath, "The monsters. What were those things."

"Ahh, you mean Nomu. Or maybe Kaiju? I think they will be called both in the future."

All Might takes a shaky breath, "What were they?"

"Hmm, well their technical definition would be an organism lacking proper brain control that follows whatever orders are given to them. They also typically have more than one quirk, hence why their brain is essentially overloaded."

All Might can barely contain the overwhelming sense of horror he gains from that insight.

All Might growls as he is hit with a realization, "Multiple quirks? So, are you the ones that made them?"

"I suppose so but I didn't play a direct part. It was more like a disgruntled employee took some of my blood and was able to probably synthesize some sort of lesser version of my quirk that allows for quirks to be transferred."

"How do you know all of this?"

"Through my quirk, remember? I have seen so much of what is to come, I can hardly wait!"

All Might feels sick, "How, how will you live on through death?"

All for One lets out a content sigh, "I suppose I won't be one of the characters in the story, but I'll be able to read along through the memories that I have been given.

'Memories huh?' Toshinori looked back at the night sky. It seemed that the smog was clearing out since he was beginning to make out some stars in the sky. Or maybe that was the literal light people claim to see when they were about to die. He wasn't sure anymore.

Was this how his master felt when she died? Was this how Shim-

'Wait a second'

"Shigaraki."

He hears the man utter a "hmm" in response.

"Who were those two in the memories? The two that were by your side?"

"Ahh." All for One chuckle again, "Well it wasn't really my side since the memories are from the future, but I guess that's not really what you are getting at is it? Do they look familiar, Toshinori? Do those faces ring any bells?"

All Might lets out a growl, "What did you do to her? Why is she part of your plan?"

"I'm honestly not quite sure how she ends up involved. I haven't done anything to her, so I guess she will make her choice sometime in the future. What about the boy? Did he seem similar?"

All Might slowly shakes his head. He feels like he should know the boy in the memories, but only pieces make sense.

"I guess that makes sense, he does look awfully different than her."

All Might coughs up more blood, "Huh?"

"That kid had a rough go of it. He's a product of the society that you created, Yagi. While you ultimately were not the one that hurt him, he was hurt by the world that you helped create."

All Might frowns, "And what kind of world is that?"

"One where strength is valued over everything else. Your whole pillar of society nonsense has bred not only an obsession with strength, but a hatred of weakness. Kids these days rank each other on how strong their quirks are and nothing else. The number two hero is walking proof that no one really cares about who you are and what you have done as long as you are strong enough."

All Might clenched his fist, "Who are you to talk about messing with society? You have been pulling the string to your own benefit since you were born! What right do you have to criticize me for saving others when you have simply been hurting people in the shadows?"

"I guess you're right. But that was before I got Revelations from Anya. I haven't done a single thing for myself since that day. Everything I have done is ensure that the proper path is in place."

"For who? Who have you done this all for?"

All for One smiles, a real smile, "My son. Everything has been left to him. He just needs to walk the path now."

All Might coughs up more blood, "You have a son?!"

"Yes, his memories are the ones that I have shown you."

All Might is struggling to breath at this point, "Does he have your quirk?"

All for One lets out a raspy breath and looks back to the sky, "Not yet but in the future, who knows? If everything goes to plan, I'll be able to watch over him from his shadow as he fulfills his destiny."

All Might tries to swallow down more blood, "How? How could he get your quirk?"

"Our quirks are remarkably similar, Yagi. I just made sure to leave blood of mine with someone I trust. It'll be frozen and then when the time is right, everything will fall into place."

All Might would yell if he could. Scream to the heavens about very clearly losing the war against All for One. Scream forgiveness to Shimura Mai and the rest of the past users. Scream for someone to help him, someone to save this situation.

But no one will save him. For he is alone like the few stars he can see in the sky, lying in a destroyed warehouse with All for One.

With a sudden chill entering his body, Toshinori Yagi knows that his time is up. He can tell from the shallow breathing next to him, that All for One isn't very far behind him.

He glances back at his nemesis one last time and sees a smile still stuck on his face.

"You're insane, Shigaraki."

"Everyone is insane, Yagi. Some are just better at hiding it than others."

Both men then died alone in an abandoned warehouse outside Tokyo.

~Revelations~

In Nagoya, a boy with dull emerald eyes slowly wraps bandages around his midsection to cover up a series of burns and bruises on his chest. He sobs silently to himself at the unfairness of the world and the cruel life that he is stuck living.

In Yokohama, a boy with cerulean hair and red eyes cries as he reads a letter from the man that saved him all those years ago. The letter explains that the boy shouldn't be sad but excited for what is to come next. The boy doesn't care. The boy misses his sensei.

In Fukuoka, a girl with charcoal eyes stares blankly at the city below her. She slowly brushes her black hair out of her face and lets out a long sigh. This should have been what she's always wanted. So why did the emptiness in her heart remain? Tears sting her eyes and there is no one to comfort her.

In Japan, it was time for new characters to take the main stage.

The world would never be the same.
