A young woman that looked to be the age of twenty-three wearing dark jeans, a button up purple blouse, black boots. Her short blonde hair caressed her jawline and her icy blue eyes scanned the screen in front of her. The woman frowned as she read the graph that was forming.

"Hey Moser." The woman turned around hearing her name. "You see that jump in the pressure just now?" A man sitting by another computer asked.

"I saw it. There's a town just up ahead right?" The woman asked.

"Yeah, Puente Antiguo. Why?" The man asked.

"Because Ryan, I'm going to check it out. You coming with?" The woman said with a smirk.

Ryan sighed, "That sudden pressure drop means a serious storm. Instead of calling you Melody Moser the Meteorologist we should start calling you Melody Moser the Stormchaser."

"Is that a yes?" Melody mused with an amused expression.

"That's a yes. Let's take the van." Ryan said and closed the laptop before grabbing it.

Melody's P.O.V

I stepped out of the company van and stared at the dark gray storm clouds above me. Thunder echoed overhead and lightning sparked across the sky.

"Ryan, you see what I'm seeing?" I asked my coworker and friend.

"Yeah, the storm looks almost localized. I don't even see any rain. It's just thunder and lightning." Ryan noted.

I took out my cell phone and pulled up my camera. I hit record and held my phone to face the storm above me. "This storm is defying the laws of nature. There's something off about it." I said as I took steps closer.

"I heard locals talk about the government putting a base out here. We might have a conspiracy theory on our hands." Ryan informed me.

I walked further out into the desert and stopped with a power line being roughly twenty feet away from me. I knew better than to be near power lines but it seemed far enough to me.

I turned my head to tell Ryan something when I felt searing pain coarse through my body. I collapsed on the desert ground. My ears were ringing and I could see Ryan rushing to me before my world went completely black.

My eyes fluttered open then quickly squinted the bright lights above me. Once my eyes adjusted to the light, I could fully open them. I turned my head to the side to see I was in a hospital. I slowly sat up in bed and took a look at my surroundings. I could see balloons and flowers on the side with a "Get well soon" card in front of the flowers.

"What happened to me?" I muttered. I looked down at my lap and froze seeing a scar on the palm of my right hand. I looked back up in time for a nurse to see me through the window. She froze and stared at me in shock. She ran to the desk behind her and said something to the nurse behind the desk.

The nurse then came back and opened the door to my room. "Miss Moser, you're finally awake." The nurse spoke.

"Where am I?" My voice was hoarse and dry. I didn't realize just how scratchy my throat was.

"You're at Puente Antiguo Hospital. I just called the doctor to let him know you're awake now. Do you remember anything that happened?" The nurse asked as she walked over to me.

I shook my head, "I remember the pain, falling and then nothing." I answered with my voice getting a little less hoarse now.

The nurse gave me a sympathetic gaze, "Miss Moser, you were struck by lightning." My eyes widened hearing those words.

"What?" I whispered in disbelief.

"Sleeping Beauty finally awakens." I turned my head to see a doctor in a white coat and scrubs walk in. He had a smile on his face as he stopped at the foot of the hospital bed.

"Welcome back, Miss Moser. You had us concerned for quite a while. I'm Dr. Lawson. I've been the one monitoring you while you were in your coma."

"Coma?!" I said in shock.

Dr. Lawson nodded his head, "For three months, Miss Moser. In order to heal, your body went into a comatose state. You're lucky to be alive. Lightning strike victims are a hit or miss to survive. I'll let everything you just found out to sink in. I'll be back in a few hours to talk about physical therapy. Your muscles will be too weak to hold you up as you are now." Dr. Lawson gave a look to the nurse and she nodded.

Dr. Lawson exited the room. Leaving me and the nurse in the room now. "Could I be alone with my thoughts? This is a lot to take in." I asked the nurse.

She nodded, "Of course." She headed for the door. "Could you pull down the blinds?" The nurse stopped right in front of the door handle.

"Sure." She smiled and closed the blinds to the windows. She exited shortly after closing the blinds.

This is insane. I got struck by lightning while doing my job. I was only out here in New Mexico for research purposes. That storm happened by chance and it looks like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I took off the thin sheet that covered me. I frowned as I studied my legs.

Dr. Lawson mentioned I'll need physical therapy due to muscle deterioration. My legs however looked normal. They didn't seem any different. I slowly swung my legs over the side of the bed. I felt the balls of my feet touch the cold hospital floor.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, "This is crazy. You're going to fall on your ass, Mel." I directed towards myself.

I went to grab the metal railing of the hospital bed. I pulled my hand back feeling a sudden shock.

"Ouch!" I hissed and waved my hand at the sudden sensation. How did I build up static electricity like that so quickly?

I looked back at the metal railing and jaw dropped slightly seeing what looked like a burn mark on metal. I hesitantly moved my hand to the railing again. My breath caught in my throat seeing a single line of blue electricity trailing from my finger tip to the railing. I wasn't feeling any pain this time. I looked at the stream of electricity in awe. That normally shouldn't be able to be seen by the naked eye for this long.

"What happened to me?" I whispered and pulled my hand back. I looked back at my legs and gave out a huff. Here goes.

I pushed myself off the bed and my legs caught me and stood me up with no problem. I took a single step forward and my body was keeping up just fine. In fact, I felt extremely energized. I feel like I could run a mile right now. I looked down at my hands again before looking at the railing again.

"This is nuts." I muttered. I put my hand out to the railing and took a step closer. The blue electricity was back and this time coming from all five fingers. I then opened my hand so my palm was now facing the railing.

I was taken aback when a large stream of blue electricity came from my hand. The whole railing was now engulfed in crackling blue electricity.

I let out a breathy chuckle and grinned. Getting struck by lightning somehow gave me superpowers?

"Well, well. It seems you discovered your powers." I jumped and quickly turned around to the voice.

The metal made a screeching noise before being snapped off the bed. I dropped my hand and the metal clanged against the hospital floor. I turned my head to see a man wearing all black with a trench coat and an eye patch.

He had an amused look on his face, "Who are you?" I asked the man.

"The name's Fury. I work for S.H.I.E.L.D. and you, Moser, have recently caught our attention." I furrowed my brows at his words.

"How? I've been in a coma for the past three months." I asked warily.

"Dr. Lawson wasn't the initial doctor that took your case. Another doctor did and he noticed something strange about you as you recovered. Your body was producing massive amounts of electricity that should have killed you. Your resting heart rate is so high that modern medicine says it should have given out by now. That doctor tried to report you to the authorities. I had an agent in the field near here who heard about you. Dr. Lawson isn't really a physician. He's an agent under cover that was keeping an eye on you."

"What am I then if some top secret government department is looking at me?" I asked.

"You're something that we call a meta-human. A human with extraordinary powers. That lightning bolt you were struck with was no normal lightning bolt. That storm was made when a god came down to Earth." Fury held up a small disk from his pocket. A hologram showed up showing a muscular man with long blonde hair, wearing a rep cape and some type of armor and a hammer in hand.

"His name is Thor, and yes just like Norse Mythology that we know, he's the God of Thunder. He comes from a planet called Asgard. When he showed up to earth three months ago he summoned that storm with him. You were struck by magical lightning that was summoned by a god. That gave you powers, powers that S.H.I.E.L.D. would like to utilize. I'm here with an offer for you to come with me and join S.H.I.E.L.D. and in exchange we'll help you learn your powers. What do you say?" Fury asked.

I looked at my hands, the railing on the ground then finally at Fury. "I'm in." Fury smirked.

"Glad to have you aboard, Moser."

Nine months had gone by since my first encounter with Fury. Along those nine months a lot had happened. I learned how to control my new found powers. I found out what I can do with them and my limitations. My power was finally given a name to it. Electromagnetism.

I could magnetize and manipulate any metal. I had even found that with a metal board beneath my feet it granted me the ability to fly in the air. There's much more to it than just that. Anything that deals with electricity then meant I had the means to manipulate it. My body could even absorb a deadly amount of electricity.

My powers did have a down side though. I could essentially short out like an outlet. I primarily used the electricity that my body naturally generated and if I got too low my powers wouldn't work. I would completely short out if I got wet. Even just falling in a few inches of water hindered my powers. That meant on really rainy days where it was pouring down rain, I couldn't do anything.

Fury pointed out this glaring weakness the moment we discovered it, because of that…now I'm trained…extensively.

My back slammed onto the mat below me. I let out a pain groan and groveled on that mat.

"Come on, Mel. You gotta get back up. The bad guy won't just sit by and wait." A female voice sounded above me.

I tilted my head to look at the familiar red headed trained assassin known as Natasha Romanoff standing above me. Or has her code name been given: The Black Widow. I was given a code name as well that Fury had come up with originally but I modified. He thought of Volts but I wanted to put a more feminine twist to it. Voltess.

"I'm aware, Nat, but the enemy won't be you. Do you have any idea how hard you hit?" I said as I got up.

Nat gave a small prideful smirk, "It's been mentioned."

"Yeah, by me. The only other person that's been sacked by you." Nat let out a chuckle and turned around to see her best friend, Clint Barton. Codename: Hawkeye.

I titled my head seeing he was dressed in his gear. "Fury gave you a mission?" I asked.

"Protection detail. Some scientist recently hired by S.H.I.E.L.D. is making something. That's all I was debriefed on." Clint pointed to Nat, "Fury's going to call you next. My guess is an espionage mission." Nat grinned.

"My favorite. Looks like our session is over, Mel." Nat said while glancing at me.

"My sore muscles finally have time to relax then." I joked with a smirk.

Nat smirked back, "I won't be gone long." She turned her back to me and walked out. Clint held his hand up, "See you later, Mel."

I held my hand up in response, "Nice seeing you, Clint."

I was having a relatively lazy evening in the scenic view of New York City. Nat and Clint had been on their respective missions for over a week now. Since the two of them were my combat trainers that meant I suddenly had some free time on my hands. I stood out of my apartment balcony. I leaned against the guard rail and just listened to the city noise.

My sensitive ears picked up the sound of my phone vibrating on the glass end table inside. Without going to my phone, I sent a bolt of electricity to my phone. The call picked up and I set it to speaker phone.

"Moser." I answered.

"It's Coulson." I froze mid step inside the apartment. I walked over to the phone and physically picked it up. I took it off speaker phone as I simultaneously held it to my ear.

"That's not good if you're calling me. What happened?" I asked urgently.

"Barton's been compromised." I almost dropped my phone hearing those words.

"Does Nat know?" I asked.

"She does. It's happening, Moser. The Avengers Initiative is being launched." My mouth went dry hearing those words. It's finally happening.

Fury had been blunt to me after I joined up with S.H.I.E.L.D. He recruited me because of the Avengers Initiative. The Defenders of Earth.

"What do you need me to do?" I asked.

"Fury is getting Rogers. Romanoff has the big task of getting Banner." Yikes. Poor Nat.

"You pulled the lucky straw and got Stark." I let out a groan.

"Why am I having to deal with the billionaire?" I asked, frustrated.

"You have common ground with him. You're a graduate of MIT with a Masters in Meteorology and Engineering Technology. An IQ of 178 and you designed your first Voltess suit. If anyone can get Stark on board, it's you. I suggest you suit up." I let out a sigh and hung up the phone.

I set my phone on the glass end table and walked to my bedroom. I flipped up the fake light switch and placed my thumb on the scanner.

The false wall opened up to reveal a display case with my suit hanging. The suit was made from a special fabric that help store excess electrical power. The suit consisted of a mixture of black, deep purple, and a bright yellow lightning bolt adorned it.

The black part of the suit made up the head piece that went down the neck piece. The black continued all the way down my back. The black parts of the suit from the sides of the neck piece went over the shoulder and a strip down the outside of where my arm was. The back of the attach gloves were also black. The pants had black all over except from the front of my thighs, knees, and shin that was the deep purple color. The front of my chest piece was the deep purple color that stopped at my sides and just below my collar bone. The sleeves of the chest piece started with the purple collar at the armpit of the suit. The purple trailed down the rest of the inner arm area and the palms of the gloves. A thin yellow lightning bolt went diagonally across the chest piece.

I grabbed the suit from its case and quickly changed into it. I tighten the gloves and look at myself in the mirror. The suit hugged the curves of my now much more athletic body. My icy blue eyes stared at my mask. The head piece didn't fully cover my head and my short blonde hair hung out from it. It started around my eyes and went around my head to cover my ears but it left my nose and mouth open.

I grabbed the briefcase sitting on the glass case just below where the suit hung. I opened the metal briefcase to show a black oxygen mask and a pair of white framed goggles with blue tinted lenses. The goggles and oxygen mask had magnets on the end of them that allowed me to use my powers to connect the two pieces onto my head piece.

I snapped the goggles onto place first then the oxygen mask. I grabbed the silver board that leaned against the back of the glass case. It was the same size as an average snowboard.

I closed the glass case and headed back for my balcony. I sent my electricity to my silver board. Blue electricity crackled underneath it. In one swift motion, I hopped over the balcony and landed on my board. I felt the bottom of my suit magnetize to the board to stay on it during flight.

I sent a pulse of electricity to my feet which corresponded to the bottom of the board. Propelling me forward in the sky. Next up, Stark Tower.

As I flew toward Stark Tower, I could see a trail of light heading to it as well. Looks like Stark is in his Iron Man suit right now. I neared the tower and I pointed two fingers at the satellite at the top. I shot a bolt of electricity out and hit the satellite.

I hit a button on the side of the oxygen mask that activated a mic for my voice to be broadcasted.

"So, this is the infamous Tony Stark." I spoke. I could see inside the glass room where Tony and his girlfriend, Pepper Pots, stood inside. Tony looks around in alarm.

"Jarvis?" I could hear Tony's voice from the built-in ear pieces to my head piece.

"Someone has passed through my defenses and directly tapped into our satellite." I heard a British robot voice respond back.

"Don't worry. I'm just here to talk. Look outside." I said as I hovered outside the glass room.

"Oh my god." I heard Pepper whisper as she noticed my form outside.

Tony set down his champagne glass and hurriedly walked outside. I hovered down until my board was just above the balcony.

"Who are you and how did you get through all of Jarvis' security protocols?" Tony asked slightly on edge.

I hopped off my board and detached my oxygen mask and goggles. I pulled down my mask to reveal my face.

"My name is Melody Moser. Agent Coulson sent me." I answered.

Pepper looked at me in shock, "You're from S.H.I.E.L.D.?" She asked and I nodded.

Tony seemed to relax knowing that I wasn't a threat, "Coulson sent you? I'm a little hurt that Coulson didn't want to meet in person. I thought he and I were close." Tony said sarcastically with a smirk.

There's the famous personality. Always being a wise ass and cracking jokes.

"I'll make sure he sends a postcard next time." I quipped back. Tony got a glint in his eyes. He liked that I played along with his sarcastic quips of his own.

Tony pointed at me, "I'm liking you so far, sparks." I raised my eyebrow at the new nickname.

"So huh, Melody, why are you here?" Pepper asked after sending a look to Tony.

"Please, call me Mel. I'm here about the Avengers Initiative." Tony's brows raised in surprise.

"The Avengers Initiative? I thought that idea got scrapped? Besides, I wasn't even a candidate for it. You guys said that I don't play well with others." Pepper nodded.

"He's right." She agreed.

"Fury would only have launched the Initiative if he thought it was absolutely needed. Personality checks are out the window. We need all the superhumans we can get." I informed him.

"What exactly is the Avengers Initiative?" Pepper asked me.

My eyes noticed the hologram computer just off to the side. I let out a small smirk and sent a quick bolt of electricity. Tony looked at his computer then back to me.

"What'd you just do?" He asked.

"I just accessed your computer and the entire database. I know you still have the files Fury gave you." I pulled up the hologram screens of the other superhumans for the Avengers Initiative.

"This is the Avengers Initiative. Super beings that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been keeping tabs on for a while now. Stark's been debriefed about this once before. Right after he made his first Iron Man suit." I looked at Tony.

"Except you. You're new. Did you really just get into my entire database with just a zap from your fingers?" He asked, very interested at this moment.

I lifted my hand in the air and the lights of the building turned off then back on. "That answer your question? I'm the latest addition to the Avengers Initiative. I got recruited nine months ago after getting struck by his lightning." I pointed to the hologram screen that Thor was on.

"A lightning strike did this to you?" Tony said in a tone of disbelief.

I nodded, "More magical lightning than natural." I watched as Pepper silently studied the holograms as we talked.

"I'm gonna take the jet to DC tonight." She commented.

"Tomorrow." Tony corrected.

"You have homework. You have a lot of homework." Pepper stated.

"Well what if I didn't?" Tony asked. He now ignored me and paid full attention to Pepper.

"You mean if you finished?" Tony nodded, "Well um…" She proceeded to whisper in his ear.

I scrunched up my face in disgust. "Hey huh, sensitive hearing over here. I don't really need to hear this." I gestured to the two of them.

Pepper gave me an apologetic smile, "Sorry. I'll make a mental note." She then looked at Tony, still waiting for him to answer.

"Square deal. Fly safe." Tony answered. The two of them smiled and shared a kiss before Pepper headed to the elevator.

"I'd call that cute but after what I just heard, cute is not the word I would describe it." I said after the elevator doors closed.

Tony gave me an amused smirk, "I can think of a few words." I shook my head.

"Hard pass. Let me know when you're done with your homework so we can get going." I used my hand to raise my board up and proceeded to take a seat on it.

Tony gestured to me with his hand, "What's exactly your power here?"

"Electromagnetism." Tony raised his eyebrows at that.

"So basically anything powered by electricity is fair game?" Tony asked.

"Energy in general is. Don't think I didn't notice you're off the main power grid here. If it generates electrons, I can manipulate it." Tony tilted his head as he studied my suit.

"Well, looks like you're going to be up with me all night, sparks. I'm a bit of a procrastinator. I can't get any homework done until you've told me everything you can about your powers." I gave him a blank stare to his smirking one.

"I'll need some of that champagne if I have to do that." Tony smirked and winked at me.

"I'll be right back then."

5 Years Later…

I walked into the lab of the Avengers HQ building. I had a pair of dark jeans, a navy blue v-neck shirt, and black shoes on. I grabbed my white lab coat from the corner. I threw it on as the lab began to turn on.

"Welcome back Mel" The female AI voice spoke up.

"Morning Athena. Did the software download completely?" I asked as I turned on the center hologram computer table.

"Yes it has. It should be ready to transfer to your suit." I used both hands and pulled up the hologram image of my Voltess suit.

It had gone through multiple changes over the last five years. The design and coloring stayed the same but I was always looking for ways to improve it. Tony helped me out with it sometimes. This latest idea was mine however.

"I feel like this was way overdue. The ability to call my board to me via remotely. What do you think, Athena?" I asked the AI. Tony had developed an AI similar to Jarvis years ago. That was the time he gave me the first Voltess suit that he made himself. He said an AI would come in handy considering my powers could hack into any super computer. He wasn't wrong.

"It would solve your falling out of the sky often issue." Athena's robotic voice said snarky.

I chuckled as I hit a couple buttons on the hologram. I hit the transfer button and watched the bar pull up. The glass case that held my suit lit up as the download started. I still had to use normal clothing material for the Voltess suit. Tony tried to make me a nano suit at the same time he designed Spiderman's nano suit. Unfortunately, we found out my power doesn't correspond well with nanotechnology. That idea was quickly scrapped and stayed with the original material of suit but just updated the gadgets. I had added a utility belt that held different "toys", as Tony puts it, that could help me in fighting bad guys and saving people.

"Mel, you have a call incoming from Mr. Stark." Athena's voice echoed overhead.

"Answer it." I said and walked over to the hologram table.

Athena answered the call and I frowned seeing Tony's face in his Iron Man suit.

"Where are you?" He asked.

"Avengers HQ. Why? What's going on?" I asked in alarm.

"My nightmare is coming true. Alien invasion. Thanos." My eyes harden hearing those words.

"I'll get suited up." I answered and started to back away.

"They're already retreating. I'm following them to get on the spaceship. I'll lose signal here soon. I need you to do something else for me, sparks." Of course he's following the alien spaceship.

"Name it."

"Banner is back. I left him in central park. Get him and find Cap." Tony instructed.

I nodded, "Be careful, Tony." I advised my best friend.

"Aren't I always, sparks? Try to keep the earth in one piece until I get back." Tony said with a smirk.

The call abruptly ended with a "signal lost" flashing on the screen. He must have left the range of earth's satellites now.

"Athena, how's the transfer looking?" I called out to the AI.

"100% Mel." I walked over to the glass case and typed on the keypad next to it.

I grabbed the suit, "Let's go get the big buy." I said in reference to Bruce Banner.

I waited impatiently inside Avengers HQ. I had grabbed Bruce who looked worse for wear and brought him with me. I knew I couldn't just call Steve with him being a wanted fugitive. I sent a distress signal instead that would get his attention

Rhodes was in the main meeting area talking to Ross. I've hated that guy since the Accords. In my eyes, he caused the split between the Avengers.

"Mel, are you okay?" Bruce asked as he watched me pace.

"I will be as soon as Cap gets here." I responded.

As I said that my eyes caught on figures approaching the room. I stopped my pacing and looked at Steve and Nat with Sam, Wanda, and Vision. It was good to see them again and this time not fighting at an airport.

I saw Bruce get visibly nervous as his eyes laid on Nat. I placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked at me and I gave him a comforting smile. "You know she missed you, right?" I said softly. I could see Bruce visibly swallow as his adam's apple bobbed down.

I patted his shoulder before stepping into the meeting room.

"Arrest them." I heard Ross say from his hologram image.

"Like hell." I spoke up, causing everyone to look at me. My hands lit up with blue electricity.

"Moser don't you da-" Ross was in mid sentence as I ended the hologram meeting with one spark to the computer.

"That's a court martial." Rhodes spoke up.

"There won't be anyone to court martial if we let Thanos do what he wants. Ross can sit in the time out corner for now." I didn't miss the grin Steve or Nat got on their faces.

"Mel. It's good to see you again." Steve said and held his hand up in a wave.

"Uh no, come here. That's not a proper hello." He chuckled as I walked over and gave him a hug that he returned.

I let got of Steve and Nat was there waiting for her turn. "I'm digging the blonde look." I told her with a smile.

Nat smiled back and the two of us hugged. "It made hiding easier. It's nice seeing you again." Nat said as we pulled away from the hug.

I looked back at Wanda and smiled, "Hey Wanda." She smiled back and nodded.

"Mel." She responded. We weren't exactly close but we had a mutual respect for each other. After all, her brother gave up his life to save mine when Ultron attacked. I'll always be indebted to Pietro for that. He took the rain of bullets in order to get me and a kid out of the way of danger. He died an Avenger.

"No offense you guys, but you all look like shit." Rhodes commented.

"Looks like the past few years have been tough." I added.

Sam nodded, "Yeah, well we stayed at a lot of not exactly five star hotels."

"You guys look better than me." I heard Bruce's voice behind me.

Everyone went silent as he awkwardly walked into the room. "Hi Bruce." Nat said just above a whisper. She was in disbelief seeing that he was back.

"Nat." An awkward silence fell between them.

"This is awkward." I heard Sam mutter. Nice icebreaker.

We all surrounded the hologram computer after discussing the events that occurred.

"Athena was able to pull up satellite images. Tony and Peter both got onto the spaceship." I said as I walked into the room.

"Who's Peter?" Bruce asked.

"Spiderman. He's just a kid from Queens. Tony recruited him a couple years ago." Bruce nodded with uncertainty to his face.

"They didn't get Vision. They'll be back for him." Wanda said as she pulled up an image of two aliens on top of Vision from earlier.

"Then we need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" Bruce asked and looked at Nat.

"He and Scott took a deal after the whole Accords situation. It was too tough on their families. They're on house arrest." Nat explained.

"Who's Scott?"

"Antman." Steve replied.

"There's an Antman and a Spiderman?" Bruce said, confused. He shook his head.

"Okay look. Thanos has the most powerful army in the universe and he is not gonna stop until he gets Vision's stone." Bruce explained.

"Then we'll have to protect it." I commented.

"No, we have to destroy it." I looked at Vision in shock.

"Vision, if we destroy the stone then that means…" I trailed off.

"You will be gone as well. We're not talking about this." Wanda picked up after me. She gave a stern glare to Vision. I was taken aback at the two as they talked back and forth.

I leaned towards Nat and whispered, "What am I missing?" I glanced at her.

"They're kind of a…thing now." Nat whispered back. My eyebrows went up in complete surprise. Isn't Vision technically a very sophisticated AI? He developed feelings for Wanda? That's an advancement.

"Now hold on," Bruce's voice knocked me out of my thoughts, "You're a complicated structure. Part of Jarvis, the stone, Ultron, Tony, me and Mel make who you are. What if we could separate the stone and leave the parts that make Vision who he is?" Bruce stated.

"You can do that?" Nat asked.

Bruce shook his head, "Not me, not here."

"Well we better think of a place and fast. Ross is over in DC right now but he's heading here right now." I advised.

"I know somewhere." We looked at Steve in anticipation. What place was he thinking of?

I mindlessly walked around the Wakanda laboratory. I never would have thought Steve meant Wakanda when he said he knew a place. I fought side by side with T'Challa when the Accords came into effect. The man definitely knew how to fight.

I was staring at their technology in complete fascination. They used vibranium in everything. T'Challa's entire suit consisted of it.

"Incredible, isn't it?" I turned around hearing T'Challa's voice behind me.

I nodded, "It is, your highness." I noticed the young woman that stood next to him. They appeared to be siblings.

"I'd like to introduce you to my sister, Shuri." T'Challa introduced.

"Nice to meet you I'm-"

"Melody Moser. Yes, I know all about you. You're the Head of Stark's Technology Department." I raised my brows at that.

"That's right." I answered.

"My sister is our technology expert here. She became very interested when I mentioned your name as one of the Avengers staying with us in the upcoming fight."

"You work with all this vibranium tech?" I said with a spark igniting in my eyes.

T'Challa smiled, "I'll leave you ladies with your toys." Shuri glared at her older brother.

"They're not toys, brother!" She called after him. She sighed before looking at me. She frowned and walked around me as she studied my suit.

"What material is your suit made of?" She asked.

"A special fabric that can hold an electric charge." I answered. She gave me a disappointed look.

"I heard Stark made nanotech. Why did you not upgrade your suit to it?" She asked.

I shook my head, "We tried. The nanotech can't handle the amount of electricity my body generates." Shuri hummed in thought.

"I think you are long overdue for an upgrade, Miss Moser." She commented with a smirk.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion.

"My brother assigned me to help the Avengers prepare for the upcoming fight. I'm going to help prepare you by making your very own vibranium suit." My jaw about dropped to the floor.

"What? Does vibranium even k-"

"Keep an electrical charge? Yes, in fact it can store up any energy used against it. You could transfer that energy to make more of your electricity. Stark's nanotech is highly advanced but Wakanda technology hit that milestone a long time ago. Come on. We have work to do."

I stood in line with the rest of the Avengers and the army of Wakanda. I took a deep breath seeing Thano's army trying to get through the force shield that protected Wakanda. I looked down to the silver bracelet that adorned on my left wrist. The vibranium tech was just like nanotech. A simple press of a button and the suit would grow onto my body.

I held up my wrist and clicked the button. I watched as the vibranium scaled up my arm first then around my entire body. I felt it fully cover my head. My eyes were now seeing a computer screen that Athena's AI was already transferred to. It had a built in oxygen mask already and an earpiece. The head piece was completely black except for the white eyepieces. The rest of the coloring stayed the same.

"Put down the shield!" I heard T'Challa's voice yell out.

"Here we go." Nat muttered.

I grabbed my board from my utility belt and threw it to the ground. It expanded from palm size to a full size board. It hovered in the air on its own before I placed both feet on it.

"Mel, Sam take down as many of the flying ones as you can." Steve directed. Sam and I both nodded.

"Got it, Cap." The shields were brought down and I watched as the aliens charged towards us.

"Attack!" All of us charged down the hill. I shot across in the air and began to fire electrical beams as many of the flying aliens as I could.

I dodged and weaved the ones that tried to come after me. I suddenly felt myself getting knocked off my board.

I gritted my teeth as the alien chomped its jaws at me. I charged electricity to my hand. I clenched it into a fist and punched the alien in the head. It made a yelp sound as the attack hit and shocked him. I was now free falling in the air.

I hit the control panel on my left arm and my board was now flying itself back to me. I straightened myself out and my feet landed back on my board.

I lost track of how many aliens I had zapped out of the sky. The battle felt like it was going on for hours but was really only fifteen minutes. We were almost losing then Thor showed up with some allies. He had a new weapon as well.

Just when it seemed to look like we were winning, the tide of battle changed. Thanos showed up and Vision and Wanda got forced into the battlefield.

We were getting desperate to keep Vision away from Thanos. I flew down to the battlefield and saw Steve trying to hold back Thano's massive hand. Thanos saw me coming. He quickly threw Steve aside and held his arm up.

I let out a wheezed breath as I felt the air get knocked out of me. He flung me to the ground hard. I felt pain shoot across my body as I laid on dirt ground. I let out a groan as I tried to stand back up.

I watched helplessly as Thanos got closer to Vision. Wanda was currently destroying the stone. Just as Thanos reached them, the Mind Stone shattered.

I watched in horror as Thanos used a different stone and Vision was now back. He ripped the Mind Stone from Vision's head.

"No!" All of us shouted. I forced my body to stand even though it was screaming at me to lay still.

One by one, all of us threw ourselves at Thanos. Trying to get him to stop from snapping his fingers. Thanos swatted us down like flies with the stones.

I felt immense power as he used the power stone on us trying to stop him. I let out a scream as I felt unimaginable pain shoot through my body. The pain made me fall down to my hands and knees. It felt like my body was getting ripped into two. I heard a battle cry and looked to see Thor throw his new weapon at Thanos.

Thanos yelled out in pain as the blade made contact with his shoulder. Thor was trying to cut off his arm. I watched with bated breath as my sensitive ears caught Thanos say "You should have gone for the head." He lifted his hand with the gauntlet on and snapped his fingers.

I shielded my eyes from the bright light and when I looked back. Thanos was gone.

"Mel, hey! Mel!" I turned my head to see Bruce walking to me. The Hulk Buster armor had been destroyed earlier. The big guy completely refused to make an appearance. Bruce had mentioned earlier that he was scared. I never once in a million years considered Hulk to be scared of anything.

"You okay?" He asked as he knelt beside me. I opened my mouth to answer but I suddenly felt a weird sensation in my chest.

I shook my head, "Something's wrong, Bruce. I don't feel right." I placed a hand on my chest. Bruce's eyes widened and his jaw slacked.

"Mel? Mel!" Was the last thing I heard before my world went dark.

Elsewhere...

I let out a gasp as I shot up into a sitting up position. My pulse raced faster than usual. I placed a hand on my chest and looked down at myself. I was still in my new Voltess suit.

I looked around at my surroundings. I was no longer in the fields of Wakanda. I was in a dark alleyway in what appeared to be a city. I heard the distant sounds of police sirens and gunshots. It's a bad part of a city apparently.

"Athena? Are you there?" I called out to my AI.

"I'm here Mel." She responded. I let out a sigh in relief that her software was still working.

"Give me GPS coordinates. Where are we?" I asked as I stood up.

"It appears we are in a city called Gotham."

There we have it. Sorry that the Prologue was so long. I had to set up Melody's backstory. Voltess is a superhero I designed back when I was just in middle school after getting inspired by watching Static Shock. She's gone through a lot of reworks as I've gotten older. I've always put her with the Avengers and after watching Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBOMAX. I had an idea to do this. A what if an Avenger that got dusted got sent to the DC universe. Melody will meet up with The Dark Knight in the next chapter.
