Main character is called Rose. Let's begin.

Chapter 1

This is like the stories you're used to on this channel. A main character that gets sucked into the video game world and has to go through the whole game in order to go home, yadda yadda yadda... but with two very unique twists that makes it so much more complicated.

What are these twists, I hear you ask? Well, the first was that when I suddenly got warped into Psychonauts, I was sent into Raz's head the moment he was born, able to talk through his mind while he couldn't do a thing but coo and cry! So yeah, I've been stuck in Raz ever since he was in diapers, which was quite the culture shock to his dad and mom, and me as well. I mean, that immediately meant I could never see my family again, since I'd been trapped inside of a psychic's head since birth!

But the other thing that was different was one very crucial thing. I was already partially psychic before being warped to this world. And you might be wondering how I was a psychic. Well, I had an unnatural ability. If I looked at someone and focused on their sight for roughly 7 seconds, I could see into their future and predict what would happen without outside interference. And it often resulted in seeing misfortunes and bad things, especially involving family members and themselves, sometimes even showing me how they'd die.

Before I had even been sent into Raz's body, I'd been a fortune teller of the highest degree, helping people for free in my own traveling circus, only accepting tips. Mainly because my main job was the same as Raz, that being the acrobatics, since my psychic prowess also allowed me to foresee any mistakes I might make and prevent them from happening.

But even then, being trapped in a psychic's brain since birth? It actually helped enhance my abilities tenfold, allowing me to even create an astral projection of myself from Raz's head so I could effectively be seen as my own self, just half-visible. But I also made sure that, as Raz grew up, I trained him in certain aspects of mental health, meaning that we could effectively share the body I was trapped in without many issues of fighting for control. He mainly stuck with the physical work while I provided the mental.

But despite this and my efforts to convince him otherwise, Raz didn't like the circus still and really didn't like being constrained there from his father, as well as his mother, whose sister had died to the water curse about 4 years after his birth. And yes, the water curse was real in the game, as we couldn't enjoy swimming anywhere, due to the water having it out for us. And we then found the pamphlet flying in the wind to take us to the Psychonauts training camp, which was located next to Lake Oblongata. I told Raz what I thought of it the moment he saw it.

"This is what I've seen in our future, Raz. I've forseen that this will be the biggest test of our lives, and will come with much good fortune," I said, him smirking at that.

"And not only that, it's close by! I bet if we skip out during dinnertime, we can get there before nightfall!" Raz smirked at me. "Don't tell dad, okay?"

"Of course not. I'll assist by having our location obscured with my psychic powers. You focus on the running and I'll lead the way," I said, him nodding. Our plan was set as we then did as I suggested. When dinnertime came, we grabbed a trio of chicken wings before then beginning our runaway to Lake Oblongata and to the Psychonauts camp. And with my psychic powers, I was able to help Raz out by giving him three extra sets of psychic legs to help run faster.

"This is gonna be SO FUN!" Raz smirked widely.

"Remember this, though, Raz. I know of what will happen even more than you do, okay?" I said, him nodding at that.

"And I'll help protect your thoughts so that they don't get any funny ideas... and I also know not to look at them either," Raz said, me smiling at that. That was rule number one I gave him when he'd reached age 5. Never look at my thoughts and memories, as I knew of everything that'd happen from the two games... I'm not including the VR game. I gave him this rule for his own good, since I didn't want him to do anything too rash too soon.

Regardless, we managed to reach the camp as soon as sunset hit, where we went to the reception area and hid among the trees as Oleander started his speech to the kids, it being extremely military-esque. And after the speech ended with 'the rest of you will die', he managed to scare some of the kids into tears, me frowning at that and facepalming myself in Raz's head.

"Ugh, idiot..." I said to myself without anyone noticing, since I was protecting our precious brain.

"I don't want to die! I haven't even had my first kiss yet!" shouted Elton, who was obviously very scared... before Milka then kissed him, making me smirk.

"Easy, he's just being overdramatic as usual. I've heard this speech before," Milka smirked at him... and before anyone says anything, the world was in the 2nd game's graphics, making things easier on the eyes.

"Maybe find a hairless bear for wrestling coach?" Mikhail asked, me smirking at his heavy Russian way of speaking.

"B-But what about the monster that lives in the lake?" Dogan asked, me smirking at how his head was protected by a tinfoil cap, just as in the game. Probably so we couldn't explode from his latent strength.

"There's no such thing as a monster in the lake! It's just a myth used to scare little kids that misbehave!" Oleander said with seriousness. "Besides, we don't have anything to worry about. We've got visiting teachers of the highest caliber in Agents Sasha Nein and Milla Vodello. They'll protect us from anything that may try to cause harm." Cue Bobby the bully.

"Really?! Well, I heard it IS real, and it likes to EAT Psychics whole! I saw it with my own EYES! It approaches from the depths, slowly creeping to camp, and then... EATS YA!" Bobby said as the kids then frowned at him... before Raz then jumped down from the branch and into the shrubs, making the kids scream.

"EEK! It's the monster!" Phoebe shrieked as the kids then started to panic and the three teachers then tried to grab us with their psychic powers, and I simply protected our brain from their mastery... which I could tell surprised them.

"Oh my! Whatever that thing is, their brain is like a steel trap! You can't get through!" Milla gawked as I simply told Raz to walk out of the shrubs and towards the fire, him doing so as the kids saw me projecting myself from his brain the whole time, Sasha being surprised as the kids looked at me in surprise. After all, though I was a 22-year-old woman before being sent to Raz's brain... I was actually shorter than him and Oleander, roughly 3 foot 8.

"What is that thing?! She looks like an alien!... I must touch!" Chloe said as she then touched me... and got shocked. "OW! Electrical current of the cranial kind... what are you?" she asked as the psychic teachers looked at me and Raz in amazement as we then went up to them and I spoke.

"I am Rose... and this is Rasputin. But you may call him Raz," I said, him smirking at that.

"What are you two doing here?... Or should I say how do you have that kind of mind power to prevent us from looking at it at all?" Oleander asked as I simply used my brain to hand him the pamphlet we found.

"We're not your usual brand of psychics, Coach Oleander, whose height is 4 foot 2, resulting in never being accepted to any army except the Psychonauts," I said, him then gasping at that and me smirking.

"You... did you just look in my brain?!" he asked, me nodding at that. "I wasn't prepared for that. Now I'm prepared, so tell me what you see," he said, me looking into his brain... and though it was much harder, I did see something interesting... interestingly brutal.

"Uh... a big man with a cleaver... and you being terrified... and I see blood. Lots of blood... and a dead rodent of some kind," I said, feeling sick at the thought, him then gawking at that.

"Amazing... not even I have been able to get into Oleander's brain to see any of his memories when he has his guard up! Tell me, where do you come from?" Sasha asked as I simply sighed.

"Just this once, I'll let you see what I see, but only certain things," I said as I then protected my knowledge of this world specifically and he looked in my brain. And he saw my world, where I was a fortune teller who could see the future for people, often tragedies... and then, after finishing a duo of video games, I wake up in the brain of baby Rasputin, much to the surprise of his parents... and I also shared the water curse that his family was cursed with by a rogue psychic and how my mental mastery only improved since reaching this world, as my world barely had anything psychic in it.

"Hmm... that is, indeed, a very interesting backstory... you come from another dimension, one where psychics are so few, you wouldn't know if they were there without anything major happening... and you suddenly get sent into Raz's brain when he was born, which only amplified your psychic abilities, to the point you can project an astral form of yourself from his thoughts and protect your mind from three high-caliber psychics," Sasha said, me smirking at how serious he stayed even then.

"But where are your parents, young one?... I mean, Raz?" Milla asked as Raz spoke.

"My parents are still at the circus. We ran off just to join this movement," he said with a smirk.

"Well, we can't really allow that. You need to fill out a form, get your parents' consent, and-" Milla was about to say before I cut her off... by making her fall asleep with a blast of psychic power, which made Oleander and Sasha surprised while the kids were shocked that I managed to do so.

"For your information, I'm 32 and am considered one of Raz's legal guardians, even to his parents. And I say that we're staying. If we could get in here without any resistance and I can make Milla Vodello sleep with a single blast of hypnotism, I'd say that we're more than qualified to be enlisted in this camp, right?" I said, Oleander frowning.

"Still, there are rules to follow," he frowned as Raz then spoke next.

"But coach, we came here for more than that," he said as he looked at the others. "We're just like you and all these other campers. Back home, we're seen as different, weird, crazy, and even dangerous. They shun us for our abilities, our knowledge... our gifts of psychic abilities. We came here so we could fit in, to be among our own kind, to protect those who can't protect themselves. Because, without knowledge, we have no power. I want to prove my worth, to become what you are. Not just a Psychonaut, but a warrior to the people, to protect and serve," Raz said. And with every sentence he said, I saw that Oleander's face quivered further and looked sadder and sadder.

"Please, coach, give us a chance. If you can do so, I'll read your future for free," I said, him nodding as he looked at Sasha and Milla, who had finally stirred from her slumber.

"Get this soldier and his friend a bunk right this minute! They're staying!" Oleander said as the kids looked at us in surprise.

"Wow... I don't think I've ever seen anyone make a teacher fall asleep! And I've been coming here for 2 years!" Kitty smirked at me, me smirking at that.

"I handle most of the psychic prowess, Raz handles the physical aspects. We've been training since he was born," I smirked... I then looked into their brains and was annoyed at Bobby's thoughts in particular.

"Yeah, right! I don't think they have it cut out! They don't even know our names!" Bobby smirked.

"Wanna bet, Bobby Zilch?" I asked, him then gasping at that.

"What did he think?" Lili asked.

"That I don't know your names. I've already looked in all of your minds while the coach gave his speech and I know all of your names already, same with Raz. You're Lili Zanotto, daughter of the leader of the Psychonauts. The one in the helmet is Chloe Barge, the big ears with purple skin is Benny Fideleo, the one with the tinfoil hat and egg-like body is Dogan Boole, the one with the headphones is Phoebe Love... shall I go on?" I asked, the kids looking at Bobby and then at me.

"Wow... awesome..." Lili gawked as I simply smirked at them.

"So, may we be shown to our bunks? We had to run for roughly an hour to get here," Raz smirked.

"Of course!" Oleander smirked as Milla then fully recovered.

"Oogh... you are quite the tricky little girl, aren't you?" Milla asked.

"I said it to the others, so I'll say it to you. I'm 32 with the body of a 22-year-old, as I was 22 when I was conjoined to Raz's mind. I can give consent to him staying at camp," I said, her frowning and Oleander and Sasha smirking at her.

"I think they should be given a chance, Milla. If they're able to make you fall asleep with hypnosis, I'd say that makes them more than qualified," Sasha smirked.

"Fine, I'll allow it," Milla said as I Oleander then led us to the kids' cabins and I looked into his future on the way... and I then told him what I saw, without telling him the actual plot of what would happen.

"I've seen your future, Oleander... and it isn't pretty," I said, him being confused. "You go crazy from something, but I'm unsure of what. And in this insanity, you do bad things to the campers and others. So I'd suggest trying and collect your thoughts, get well-rested, and rethink anything before you engage on any plans," I said, him frowning and speaking.

"Why do I feel you aren't telling me the whole story?" he asked me.

"I'd say the whole story, but I'd rather not do so in front of the campers. All I can say is that doing so would be the wrong thing to do. But I'm not in charge of your fate. As I say to all my customers, you write your own fate. But know that it can be altered by outside forces," I said, him nodding at that.

"Very well," he said, me hoping he'd get it into his thick head. Otherwise, the camp would be in danger. Regardless, I went to the bunks with Raz, where he decided to sleep in the bunk above Dogan's, me retreating into his mind in the process so I could get some sleep in his subconscious... or should I say mine, as I had my own little place in his brain, all customed to me and my preferences, complete with my old room and video games. Sure, they couldn't be played, but it was nice to be reminded of home, even if I couldn't go back ever again. I'd accepted that fact when Raz started to talk, a year after having been stuck in him. His first word that he said to me was "sista", which made me decide to stay put and not find other ways to go back home.

"Goodnight, Raz," I smiled at him from in his mind.

"Goodnight, Rose... here's hoping for a good day of training tomorrow," Raz smirked back at me with his mouth.

"So, is your friend trapped in your brain? Like a ghost?" Dogan asked Raz as I simply snuggled into my fake bed.

"It's a bit complicated... everything about who she was prior is in my brain, meaning we're basically two people sharing one brain, but with one body. She's not used to controlling my body, so she controls the psychic powers while I move around," Raz explained.

"And then she makes their heads explode?" Dogan asked.

"No, no, I don't do that... all I can say is that I've been able to see the futures of anyone I look at ever since I was born in my own world. And it doesn't discriminate, I see good ends and bad ends. It's up to me to tell people how to weave their own path to stop them from getting on the bad paths," I explained in his mind.

"Cool... so you've got a lot of control, then?" asked the voice of Vernon, me nodding at that.

"Yes, I do. Some powers are better than others for me to control, and I've still been trying to figure out how to get us to levitate and use psy plasts, but we have managed to control fire and go invisible without outside assistance," I explained.

"That's... actually kinda cool!" Chops said with enthusiasm.

"Okay, enough talk... I need to sleep. And just so you know, I can't be hit on, as I can't be touched when I'm an astral projection. So Raz is strictly the only one who can interact with people physically," I said.

"Wasn't even thinking about it. You're too old anyways," Vernon said, me smacking my face at that.

"Vernon, life lesson number one," I said as I then pinched his arm with a conjured hand.

"Ow!"

"Never call a woman old, fat, or tell them to calm down. Those three things are very important if you want to talk to the creature known as the human female effectively," I smirked.

"Okay, sorry," he frowned as I then smirked back at him as we then finally bunked down and fell asleep, me managing to stay alseep even though I knew Oleander would be shouting at us. It was finally time to prove my worth and be the best Psi Cadet in the business.
