As the sun sank to the ocean floor everything on the Boiling Isles slowly entered a deep slumber. Some were still not ready for it, there in the forest two armored men with owl masks walking under utter darkness of the night with only the light of a lantern as their guidance this time. With the hope of the lantern's light shining brightly to bring them home, but in reality, it was slowly dimming as the wind blew through the lantern hole, wanting to turn off the light. Everything must come to an end, and when the light went out, the men grew concerned as they feverishly tried to relight it. When they spotted two red glowing eyes in the dark, their thoughts quickly shifted from lighting the lantern to panic. Then there was silence, no screaming, no sound, no men. Only the silence of the night remains.

It's another beautiful day on Boiling Isles, the sun poured through the Owl house window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations or some old secrets.

As Luz is preparing for a new day on the island of witches and demons, she can't stop wondering why Eda, the Owl lady has an extra room for a house of one and her two pets. Sure, at first, she didn't think much of it since Eda is a witch but other items show the room has an owner before her. Old books, a toy box, and the room look decently clean compared to Eda's living room.

Even though those questions have been in her head for quite some time, Luz decides not to bother about it too much. Now she should focus on the real question here:" When will Eda teach Luz how to use magic?".

However, fate has other plans as Luz steps out of the room, the sound of something falling behind her. Curious, Luz looks back and investigates. Strange, a book came out of nowhere. Not only that no title, well it did have once since the title was covered in pen scribbles. Also, a lock? It's a diary. Who's this belong to? Could it be? The previous owner of this room. If so, where is the key? So many questions but then a familiar voice came behind Luz.

Eda:" Hey kid I heard something fall. Are you ok?"

Luz jumped, the book dropped, and Eda's eyes winded seeing the book:" Where did you find it?"

Not even a breather, now a wave of questions rushing into Luz's head. However, wanting to learn more about the book, Luz dashed in and grabbed the book in her arms:" Eda… it's just my dairy, don't worry I drop… Hey, how about I give you this shining pen…" Luz shows Eda the pen but Eda pushes it away.

Eda:" Kid hand it over. I'm not joking around."

Fearing that doing the opposite might anger Eda Luz giving in to Eda's order. With that Eda calmed down, Luz notices her eyes begin to sadden:" Eda, uhm… it's this the previous owner of my room dairy?"

For a moment Eda's heart skipped a beat:" How did you know?"

Luz:" Well you live here alone with two of your pets and there is another room that looks decently clean compared to your house… so."

Eda:" You humans are smarter than I thought… Anyway, yes, this room you sleep in belongs to someone else…"

Luz gasps upon a discovery:" Who was it? Do you have another student or…"

Eda stood silent for a moment then a new idea came to her: "Well if you wanted to know more then deliver these potions." A bag of potions flies into Eda's hand.

Luz takes the bag happily and runs off to deliver the potions. Leaving Eda whose eyes drowned in sadness:" She's just like him doesn't she..."

With great speed, Luz delivered potion after potion to its appropriate owner. When she thought she was done with her job, Luz came across a small crowd gathered around some people who were dressed in robes and armor speaking to a worried crowd.

" Hey what are we going to do with the beast in the forest?" Said an anxious man.

Then another addresses their worries:" It is taking our family away one by one. Do something."

"Citizens, please. We already sent people out to hunt this creature. No need to worry." Said one of the armored men.

Hearing the unpleasant news made Luz shake in her boots. After she arrives in the Boiling Isles there are still strange creatures but most of them don't try to harm anyone now an unchained beast is tearing down families one by one. Come to think of it, Eda's house is in the middle of a forest. Just a thought, chilling through Luz's spine.

"Hey, Luz." A voice came from behind Luz

Snapback out of her thought, turning her head around and seeing her friend Willow and Gus:" Hi guys…"

Gus:" You ok there, you look like you just see a ghost or something."

"Nah… I'm just taking a breather that's all." Luz shily laughed.

Willow:" In the middle of a crowd? Never mind. You did hear about the beast in the forest, right?"

Luz began to worry:" Yeah... I did. No need to worry since Eda is already there to protect me. I should be fine. "

Gus:" Hate to break it to you but we went to Eda's house earlier and she wasn't there."

"What? Wait, Hooty should be there, right?" Luz started to worries

Willow:" Yes, he was there at his door. But he was asleep and wouldn't bother to answer us."

Gus:" I tried to poke him with a stick."

Eda is gone and Hooty, the most awake being on this Isles, went to deep sleep. Something isn't right. Even though she doesn't want to believe it, her stubbornness doesn't allow it. Luz madly runs back to Eda's house to see it for herself. Willow and Gus soon follow.

Arriving at the Owl's house, Luz immediately knocks on the door, begging Hooty to wake up. She slapped, slammed, and knocked as hard as she could but all for nothing. Hooty won't wake up.

Willow:" Don't worry, maybe he's just tired or something."

Gus:" Yeah I mean he is a living being right?"

Luz:" Maybe Eda should know what happened to him right? We should find her."

Then a noise can be heard shuffling through the bushes. The group turned their head to the source of the noise. Their hearts beat fast, heads begin foggy as fear replaces every thought. All they could think now is it was the beast that was coming towards them. As their feet got colder and colder the noise became louder and louder. It jumps. Out of the bushes.

Screaming in terror, Willow and Gus cast magic rapidly while their eyes closed and Luz crawl herself into a ball and hoped for the best.

Meow.

Luz:" Wait... Meow?" Slowly open herself up. "Guys does the beast ever say meow or..."

Gus still closed his eyes:" No... What I heard was it roar, not meow like a cat?"

Willow gasps:" Oh my Titan... It's a cat. It's so cute."

After regaining her sight, right in front of Luz was a cat. Unlike any cat she has seen before, this one is strange. It was a glowing cat with an additional eye on top of its forehead. Not only that it was blue with a sprinkle of white throughout its body till you reach its tail, but it also transitions into a pinker-like color more than that. Its tail tip spread out as if it was a hand.

Luz dashed to it immediately to put it:" Oh my goodness. Look at you cute little fluffy space ball, who a good ...". Just then Luz noticed a tag on the cat collar. There is a strange symbol on it, a small four-side star. Before Luz could ask anything another voice came from the bushes.

?:" Twinkle where are you?" A croaky voice said.

Luz:'' Hey uhm… Is this blue pink tail cat yours?"

A tanned teenager emerged from the bushes; the teenager's white garments were warping around a black bodysuit. Even though the white attire and armor indicate that the person was some sort of knight, however, all thought was changed due to a giant white witch hat covering all of the person's head, masking most of the person's face and leaving two fiery crimson eyes burning in the shadow of the hat. The person approached Luz, revealing his unkempt silver twin-tail hair, and then pulled down his long neck collar that covered the person's mouth.

When the teen's mouth was open, there in it were razor-sharp teeth: "Yes. And come here, you little troublemaker. You made me worried sick. If I see you do that again you will be my next dinner, you understand." As the person said, the cat jumped into their arms and began to cuddle.

While Willow and Gus find the teenager looks uneasy to look at as if they saw a monster walking toward them but Luz was rather interested in the person's looks and clothing. Never before has Luz seen anyone wearing clothes like how humans depicted a witch in her world, the more she looks the more she realizes the teen looks like Azura.

Luz:" Hey, do you happen to know a witch named Azura?"

The teen:" Azura huh… Hm? Ah"

Luz:" Wait so…"

The teen:" You mean the name of a stone right?" The person smiles.

Disappointed by the person's answer before Luz could do anything, the person followed up:" No? Or it is the name of a fictional witch written in an adventuring book by a HUMAN… Hm."

Hold on, did the person say "Human" does it mean… Can't be. How does… Thoughts began to flood Luz's mind. But once again before Luz could do anything the person gave them a big smile:" Ha ha you funny a witch named themselves with a rock ha… Clever. Haven't heard that in a long time. But no, I just arrived on this land earlier."

Willow:" Could you spare us a minute." Willow smiled as she dragged Luz into a small pep talk with Gus.

As soon as they form a small circle, Willow's attitude changes:" Luz I don't know about you but..."

Gus:" Don't you think he is a bit weird?"

Luz:" Hold on he? I thought that was a she... Nevermind. What's wrong Willow, he seems normal... To me I guess."

Willow:" You mean creepy eyes, razor edge teeth... Not only that he... Something odd about him. He doesn't even have ears."

Gus:" Yeah we live here longer than you do but a witch like him doesn't exist. I think he is a demon in disguise."

Luz confused:" Come on guys, I mean besides strange clothing and features he looks normal to me."

Gus:" Not to us. Like he had some aura around him that made us feel uncomfortable. And the way he talks as if he knows you for quite some time is a bit off. Do you think he is the beast?"

Luz:" Gus if he is then we wouldn't be standing here. Right? Do you even know what the beast looks like?"

The teen:" Hmm. I wondered what the beast would look like. I heard that it has glowy red eyes, and pointy teeth, and can hide in the shadows. Ooh, could it be..." Slowly turning his head to the group.

The stranger could hear their conversation like that was amazing but how he could do it without an ear was unanswered. Soon everything went silent, no one moved or dared to. All eyes are on the strange teen, for every second pass their heart beats faster and faster. Water begins to flow down their head. The attention was high. Till.

The teen:" Just kidding. How could I be the beast? I mean if I was you guys would be standing here sweating like a waterfall." He smiles.

Gus:" I think I just lost my soul."

Willow:" Do you think the beast is a joke? We don't know how dangerous it's and you're here making fun and..." She shouted.

This is the first time Luz sees Willow this angry:" Willow..."

The teen still put on his smile:" Well I was just lighting up the mood a bit. I don't know why you would be worried but don't you have a powerful witch named Eda who is the strongest on this Isles."

Gus:" Are you sure you just arrived here today or..."

" Speculation... I mean it's not that hard. Eda, the Owl Lady, is the most famous witch on this Isles for many reasons. And I heard that she has a human living under her and you happened to be a human thanks for not hiding your ears. So yeah, next time if you don't want to be noticed then hide your ears." The teen still smiles and he begins to walk closer to them. As the teen gets close, pushing his hair aside reveals his strange black and glowing pink butterfly wing ears:" I do have ears, Willow and Gus."

More and more questions ram into their head. How does he know so much in such little time? Was he spying on them for someone? Worries soon became fear as the trio didn't know what the stranger would do to them.

"Oh, my look at the time. I will be late for my meeting. It's fun knowing ya all." The teen draws a small circle into thin air and a long staff appears on his hand. Then he sits on it and is ready to take flight like a witch.

"Oh, I almost forgot. That weird bird door thing he just slept in. Don't sweat too much. It's in its sleeping period." As he finished, the teen flew into the sky while sitting on his staff.

After the teen, a huge weight of anxiety was lifted off their shoulders. Whatever he was, he isn't normal but still raised a lot of questions. When the group thinks everything is back to normal, it all changes when they see the teen blue cat still here. Gus and Willow backed off the cat imminently as if they saw a ghost, only Luz came up to it and picked the cat up.

Luz:" Did he leave the cat here intentionally or accidentally?"

Gus:" Luz… Luz… the cat… his tail…"

Luz turns her eyes to the cat's tail to see its tail holding a sign with words written on it:" Yes he is quite a forgetful one."

In a fit of fear, Luz dropped the cat to the ground, and the words on the sign changed after it landed. Now it said:" Why did you just drop me, you lowly human? Argh. Lucky for you, we cats are very flexible."

As if two mysteries weren't enough, now we have a fully intelligent magic cat that can write the word on a board. Willow calms herself down and speaks to it:" You can write? Are you a palisman?"

The cat changes the word on the board once again:" No… how should I put this. Spirit. The embodiment of an element. And I'm Twinkle the space cat. As my name suggests I'm the embodiment of space and stars."

Gus:" Wow really? I have never heard of such a thing before. Like how does your magic work? Do you…"

The word on the sign begins to change:" Well before we all get to know more about me. How about we return me to my owner before he comes back to scare all of you to death once again."

Luz:" Oh come on it would be nice to know more about…" Willow and Gus dash in and cover Luz's mouth:" Yeah that's a great idea. Let's get you back to your owner."

Luz angrily shoves both of Gus and Willow's hands out:" Why did you guys do that?"

Willow:" I know you wanted to know more about the cat but if the cat is here, he will come back for it and…"

Gus:'' You may not feel it but we witches when we stay near him, we feel like something is dragging our soul away. Willow, you feel that too?"

Willow nods. Even though Luz doesn't understand everything, if her friends stay near that person and make them feel sick, she would have to go along with their plan:" All right if you guys feel better then it's a go for me. Mr. Twinkle, let us go and find your owner. Wherever he may be."

The words on the cat sign change to:" Ah yes thank you, kind stranger. But would prefer you call me to miss instead. Don't need to worry about finding him. Let me do the finding since I can sense his presence. All you have to do is to escort me to him and that's all."

Off to finding their go. On their long road to find Ms. Twinkle's owner, passing through the vast forest, for hours they still can't see the stranger owner of the cat. Boredom got to Luz, she began to question Twinkle.

Luz:" Hey Ms. Twinkle. About your owner. Could you tell me more about him?"

The cat shows the board to Luz:" My my a curious one, don't you. However, for his sake, I can't reveal too much about him. But if I have to find a word to describe him it would be a hunter."

Gus:" Is he a demon hunter? That would explain a lot."

Now showing the board to Gus the cat meows:" If put it in your respective then yes. Me. No. He is something else."

Willow:" He's still a hunter, right? So, what does he hunt anyway?"

Turn the sign to Willow, the cat scratching its chin:" Well how do I put this... Things that you wouldn't normally hunt."

Luz:" Like what?"

Ms. Twinkle shakes her head and the words on her sign change:" Well that... Wait, I sense something..."

All eyes are now heading toward a bush that shakes violently. Then two glowy red eyes can be seen in between the shadow of the bush. Luz came near it to check it:" Hey uhm strange red eyes guy, you left your cat here with us."

No response. Only silence. Luz asked again, still, there was nothing. Then Twinkle hissed and changed her stand to ready, the group saw her but as they saw the words on the sign change their face went cold: "It's the beast run!"

As fast as the wind a shadowy figure dashed madly into the group. By instinct, Luz jumps aside and manages to avoid it. The figure went back into the bushes once again and this time it ran around the trio like a hunter trying to cage its prey. The figure was so fast that the leaves on the ground flew all over the place, blocking its prey from being able to see. Willow was about to cast a spell, but the figure appeared out of the bushes and pounced right on her. Willow now pings and the figure opens its jaws showing an endless amount of razor teeth ready to grind anything into pieces.

Luz cried out as her friend was about to be devoured. Out of nowhere a net flew right into the figure and sent it into a tree. Soon the shadow figure was revealed to be a wolf-like beast with strange oozes dripping out of its body. As everyone turns their head to where the net came from, a familiar face steps out to greet them with a smile.

The strange teen:" Hey Twinkle you were right; they are good bait after all."

Luz:" Ms. Twinkle what is going on? Bait?"

Twinkle:" Pardon me but we need someone to lure this beast out so we could catch it." Showing the sign to Luz.

The teen tries to help Willow to stand up, but she refuses and pushes his helping hand away.

Teen:" Wow, cold."

Willow:" You are COLD, using us as bait without consent. Are you people out of your mind?" She shouted.

Teen:" One of us is a cat."

Willow:" Whatever. That's nothing compared to what you just did. What if you miss the net and I get killed."

Teen:" Don't worry I never miss except for that one time. But... Hey, we got the beast, right?" As the teen turned to the beast, he saw a torn-out net. "Twinkle, who is in charge of the net?"

Twinkle turns her sign to the teen:" That would be Blade."

Sighed in disappointment, the teen summons his staff:" I will have words later with him. But now Twinkle with me."

Then Twinkle jumps onto the teen's shoulder and both of them stand ready to fight.

Luz:" What about us."

" You sit down and don't move unless you have a death wish then you're welcome."

The stranger's eyes lock on every bush that has movement, and he waits and waits. As if the beast knew what it got itself into, it decided to take the defensive stance instead. The teen look at Willow:" Hey you Willow, I need you to create a plant with a sharp tip on it, can you do it?"

"Why would I help you? You are the one that got us into this." Willow replied

The teen:" No then well this is going to be…"

Suddenly the monster rushes to them and opens its gaping jaw. With a great swing for the stranger's staff, he knocks the beast back making it tumble to the ground. taking the opportunity, he jumps forward aiming for the head but the beast manages to dodge it and return into the darkness of the wood.

"Tsk. Having that tree would be much easier now." The strange boy looks back at Willow.

Luz:" Willow, I think he knows how to beat it, you should do what he asks."

Willow still not fully trusting the witch they just meet replied:" You think I gonna believe in a person who using us as bait…"

Gus:" Look out!" Point in Luz's direction

Again the monster jumped right into them with its mouth open wide. Chop. The beast bites but it found itself biting a wooden staff instead. The teen blocks the attack, and his hand is shaking due to the incredible strength of the monster.

The teen:" Twinkle, claws." With that Twinkle swipe, her might claw into the monster's eye. In pain, the monster retreats and hides in the shadow of the forest.

The teen:" I don't care if you trust me or not but if you all want to walk out of here alive. Then do what I asked." He angrily looks at Willow.

Willow:" Fine you want a sharp tree here is one." Willow draws a circle in mid-air and a tree grows out of the ground. Then the beast leaps out of the shadow once again, aiming straight for the stranger. The teen turn to the beast and spin his staff creating a circle and he shouted:" Twinkle portal now."

The cat's eyes glow in bright blue light, a circle open where the tree is growing, and out of the other circle where the teen just make out was a sharp tree moving straight into the beast splattering it into another tree.

Everyone takes a breather knowing the threat has been taken care of. The stranger, close the portal, and the tree returns to be straight pointing into the sky but still got some blood on it then he walks up to the remainder of the monster and pulls out a knife. He cut open its heart and came out a small red orb:" Hey Twinkle it's your favorite."

With that Twinkle opens her mouth and absorbs the orb within a second. The beast was no more, only its blood remained on the ground. This doesn't go well with the witnesses, Gus faints while Willow is disgusted by it but Luz found this to be exciting.

Luz:" Wow, how did you do that?"

Teen:" You mean how the cat eats the thing... Well ..."

Willow:'' Yeah UHM thanks for helping us but we are busy here so let's get going and bye." She shyly smiles while carrying Gus on her back and dragging Luz away.

The teen sighed:" Things haven't changed much, does it."

After gaining some distance, Luz shoves Willow's hand away and begins to talk:" Willow, why are you like this? I mean he saves us and yet you act as if you see him as a monster."

Willow returns Luz with an angry tone:" Luz I told you he makes us witches feel sick and didn't you see Gus just faint? And you want us to stay there?"

Luz knows that what she did was a bit selfish of her but what Willow did was way too far:" No but can't you at least say thanks to him..."

Willow is still mad about Luz however she can't argue with her since Gus is still passing out and in need of some medical assistance. Willow says nothing and walks away. Without a word all of them part.

On her way home, Luz still wonders why Gus and Willow act like that. What makes this person hated so much? Even if he uses them as bait, he is at least willing to fix his errors. Come to think, the stranger doesn't act or do anything in response to Willow and Gus's bad manner.

Just when Luz saw a glimpse of the Owl's house, Eda landed in front of a frowning Luz:" What's wrong Luz, what happened to you? Did you deliver all I asked for?" She asked.

Taking a deep breath Luz responded:" Yes... Eda hey, where have you been? I was looking for you the whole day."

"Oh, I was just going around the Isle to scam... To sell more goods to the people. But let's get real here kid what happened?" Eda asked

Even though Luz doesn't like the idea of telling Eda, a witch about a person who can make witches feel sick:" Well... it's nothing it's just I and my friends went for an adventure that's all."

Eda:" Kid you are really bad at lying. I can see that in your eyes. What happened?"

Luz:" Eda today I met someone, an outcast… and he save us…"

Eda heard the story from beginning to end but then she just laughed it off as if it was a joke:" Ha ha very funny kid you meet a witch wearing a hat... That is so old... Who would wear such a dump thing? All things aside, I think your friends need time to understand him and get used to what he is. Everyone always gets scared when facing new things. Just give them time."

Luz:" Thanks Eda but still he is just being himself and yet…"

Eda:" Hey kid maybe doesn't think about it too hard. How about you take a rest early today? Tomorrow, I got some good news for you."

Luz was happy to hear Eda had a surprise for her:" What will happen tomorrow?"

" It's a secret you have to wait for." Eda smiles.

As the moon replaces the sun, Eda takes care of a tired child. She walks to her room and opens a small book with pictures. In it, Eda grabs a photo of a child who has white silver hair and tanned skin standing next to her with a caption:'' Happy 7th birthday my student."

As tears begin to form in Eda's eyes:" Yulla, you back why didn't you tell me? Did you hate me that much?"

Meanwhile, somewhere in the forest, the strange boy is standing on a tall tree, his eyes focusing on the Owl's house:" Eda..."
