A week after Stefan's funeral
Caroline was tossing and turning in her bed all night, she was obviously crying and was in a very fragile state of mind. Stefan's words "I will love you forever" kept repeating in her mind.
"God, I miss him so much," thought Caroline, "I can't believe that we got married and he died the same night. Thanks to Katherine we didn't even get a night to be with each other."
And she started crying again.
By the end of the night she had finally fallen asleep and was woken up by her lovely daughters who rushed to her bedroom.
"Mommy, mommy, look what picture we drew," Lizzie said to her Caroline and showed her the picture.
"Look there's me and Josie, you and dad, Uncle Stefan and Uncle Damon, and Aunt Bonnie and aunt Elena.
"Wow, you really drew that. How did you manage to draw Aunt Elena there, she's been back only a few days?"
"Yes, but we feel that she's been with us all the time, you and Uncle Damon and Aunt Bonnie talk about her A LOT," she emphezised A LOT.
Caroline couldn't help but laugh at that. "That's because we love her and missed her greatly"
Ok, now let's go and wash your teeth and then breakfast.
At the breakfast there were Damon and Elena, so happy together, and Alaric and the twins, everyone, who lived at the Salvatore boarding house. So Caroline put the happy face on when she entered the room.
"Hey Blondie, how did you sleep?" Damon asked.
"Good, good, no bad dreams. And you?"
Damon and Elena giggled at that question, "We're good, all good"
"God, I envy you a lot, Elena, I wish I could be so happy like you and Damon are"
At that, the room went silent, Damon stood up, went to where Caroline was standing and planted a kiss on her head and with that everybody left the room, making some excuses for not being there so they didn't have to talk about Him. Everybody mourned him their own way and they didn't really know how to comfort her.
