Chapter 1: Scouting

It was 4 in the afternoon and Dash was storming the halls.

"Fenton!" He shouted, fists ready and feet hitting the floor like he were trying to crush cockroaches. "I know you're in here!" He roared.

He had just failed another test, and now wanted to take his anger out on Danny. He couldn't do that during school hours, but school was over and with practice over, he wanted to take his misplaced aggression out on Danny.

Dash stopped, snarling as his closest friend approached and grabbed him by the arm.

"Dash, come on… we gotta go and you promised you'd help me move a couch for my mom." Kwan reminded.

Dash grunted loud before stomping his foot.

"Soon as I find that punk, I'll tear him apart!" Dash shouted.

As he expressed his anger, he and Kwan failed to notice a fly landing on one of the lockers, watching them as if it had plans for them.

That's because the fly is in fact a machine, and someone on the other end was watching. With a red tinted vision, two figures observed the two.

"What do you think of this one?" One figure, with what looked like bent antlers, asks.

"Human… wouldn't last the first round." The other, with horns similar to a goat, scoffed.

"Well… let's keep watching…" The first one said.

As they did so, a larger figure with glowing green eyes that lacked irises watched them from behind.

At Casper High, Dash stormed down the halls with Kwan following.

As they left, two other figures entered the hall without noticing them.

"Danny?" Colette asks, looking around. "I heard someone call his name. Where is he?"

"Probably in Loserville." Paulina said.

"Zhen why are you not home right now?" Colette snarked under her breath.

"What was that?!" Paulina snapped.

To her anger, Paulina was ignored.

"I must find him, for I had ze most wonderful of dreams before it went terrible. He was zere… and we had a large family… and I doted over my first born… I believe I named him… Jean-Paul." Colette said with recognition.

"Ick! Kids with Fenton?! You are sick in the head." Paulina went.

"I'm sick of you…" Colette groaned with an eyeroll.

"He's probably with Star. She left with him as soon as practice ended. Let them enjoy their loser nobody lameliness together." Paulina said with a dismissive hand wave.

"Lameliness is not a word in any language. It is no wonder the oddly attractive Danny Phantom chooses his own blonde or even that girl with blue fiery hair over you…" Colette said with an annoyed eye roll.

"YOU SHUT UP!" Paulina snarked.

The two spoiled girls glared at each other before they stormed off in different direction.

Once they were gone, the fly robot was about to leave when it heard something.

"Are they gone?" Star's voice asked, an echo came with it.

A pair of baby blue eyes looked out from a locker, looking around.

"Yeah… I think they are." Danny said.

It turned out he and Star, in her cheerleader outfit, were inside it and pressed together. Neither wanted to deal with any of their usual high school nemeses at the moment and just wanted time alone.

"Finally... now... back to what we were doing..." Star said before cupping Danny's face and kissing him deeply.

Danny held his arms around her, kissing her back as he felt one leg go around his as if she was holding onto him for dear life's sake.

After a few seconds of mouth to mouth, Star pulled back and sighed happily.

"So needed this…" She said before looking out the locker angrily. "I can't believe Colette would think you and Ember are potentially a thing when she knows your taken even as Danny Phantom."

"I guess she hates both sides of you without knowing it…" Danny said.

"She's so… ugh!" Star said before rolling her eyes. "Not to mention, ever since Tucker found out how your comic sells, he's read that a bunch of people write this fan fiction stuff that pairs comic you with other girls… not even real people!"

"Yeah… Kim Possible, Supergirl, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, Starfire, that pink girl with horns from that one manga, the kung fu zombie girl and the cutesy demon girl from that 90's fighting game I wish I could play, the blonde who punches from that one web series that isn't very fun anymore…" Danny listed off before noticing his girlfriend looking at him with a disapproving scowl. "Not that I'd… leave you for them." He said with a nervous smile.

"You were totally reading those, weren't you?" Star asks with an eyebrow raised.

"No…" Danny said with a nervous smile before sighing. "Only the tasteful ones…"

"Really?" Star asks.

"Are you getting jealous of fictional women?" Danny asks.

"Of course not…" Star said with an eye roll.

"If it helps… you could always cosplay as them so that I'll only ever think of you if my mind drifts to them." He said with a joking tone.

Star giggled.

"I could pull off Supergirl or Sailor Venus… the other blonde, Long something or whatever, I think I'd need more milk or chicken…" She reasons.

"Well, until then, this is perfect…" Danny said.

"Yeah…" Star said as they began to make out again. Then something came to Star and she pulled back. "Oh, one more thing… my dad's birthday is tomorrow. Think you can come?" She asks.

"For you? Always." Danny said. Before they could kiss again, Danny's ghost sense went off. "Ugh… and… cue ghost."

They heard a thumping sound down the hall, one that was getting increasingly louder. Danny and Star stopped what they were doing, the two remained silent to hear it.

"What is that?" Star asks.

Danny peeked out the opening and saw something made his eyes widen.

"Hold tight" He said as he held onto Star and phased himself and her out.

The two fell through and landed on the floor, getting a good look at what destroyed the locker with one punch.

It looked to be a kangaroo, a ghostly one. One that big, green, with glowing red eyes, wearing white boxing crimson boxing gloves, a crimson vest and white boxing shoes. It was also using its tail to balance as it lifted its legs up and punched the air.

"Uh… someone's a long way from Australia." Star said.

"Yeah… and why are kangaroos always boxing? I've seen nature videos and documentaries, they mostly kick." Danny said.

"Danny?" Star asks.

"Hmm?" He went.

"Not the time." She said, pointing to the kangaroo, which now became aware of their presence.

"Oh right… uh… Goin' Ghost!"

Danny morphed and flew in to fight the kangaroo.

The kangaroo thought fast as it went back on its tail for balancing and kicked Danny into the ceiling.

As chunks of the ceiling fell off, Danny held onto his chest, particularly his ribs.

"I've heard a kangaroo can kick you so hard, you get disemboweled… really glad I'm kind of not human right now…" He said, still hissing from the pain.

He glared as the kangaroo hopped down the halls.

"There it goes!" Star said.

"On it!" Danny said as he followed the ghost.

As Danny flew, the robot followed him.

Outside, the kangaroo phased out the door, hoping towards the street and landing atop a parked car, smashing it.

The owner of said car saw from the window.

"MY CAR!" Tetslaff shouted.

The kangaroo punched the air again as Danny flew in and tackled it.

The two rolled on the concrete before the two landed in the grass, facing one another.

"Sorry, all out of leaves or whatever it is you eat in the wild, so back off before I take advantage of Sam not being here!" Danny warned.

The kangaroo responds by pounding its fists together, indicating it wants a fight.

Obliging, Danny flew in and swung a fist, only for the kangaroo to jump up before he reached it. Seeing the kangaroo gone, Danny looked around before it landed on him, hopping in place three times to bury Danny further.

Danny reached out and grabbed one of the feet before flying out of the dirt, carrying the kangaroo with him. He then threw it aside.

The kangaroo lands on its feet before hopping towards Danny. Danny fires a ghost ray, but the kangaroo punches the blast away, much to his surprise.

"Oh, that's so many rules of physics probably broken…" Danny muttered.

Danny then flies towards the kangaroo, his fist charging with energy as the kangaroo pulls its arm back.

Both fists collided, creating a shockwave that pushed the two back.

Once Danny cleared his head, he saw the kangaroo took advantage and punched him in the chest, launching him towards the school's wall, making an indent in his shape with cracks.

"I'll have to laugh less at Sylvester after this…" He muttered as he pulled himself out.

The kangaroo hopped in place as it used its boxing gloves to motion for Danny to rejoin him.

Getting impatient, Danny flew in and fired a blast of ice from his eyes, a blast that the kangaroo jumped out of the way of.

It landed right in front of Danny, punching him into the ground. Danny would end up getting some grass in his mouth, grass he spat out as he raised his head.

The kangaroo was about to stop on him, but he rolled out of the way. Danny attempts another shot, but the kangaroo jumps up.

It was then he realized the kangaroo hasn't flown, suggesting it's a ghost that prefers being on the ground. He then decided on an idea.

Seeing where the kangaroo is about to land, Danny fired his icy power at the ground, where it landed and slipped.

Seeing that idea worked, Danny grinned.

"Finally…" He said before flying in and grabbing the kangaroo, swinging it in circles before tossing it upwards.

The kangaroo flew up by 30 feet before tilting and falling head first towards the ground. It's shock was cut off when it saw Danny flying in.

Danny threw a punch to the head.

Danny threw a punch to the gut.

Danny threw a punch to the chest.

The kangaroo landed on its back, but before it could get up, Danny aimed his Fenton Thermos.

He fired, trapping the ghost before it could escape. Danny seals the Thermos, sighing in relief.

"KO." He said proudly.

With that, he looked around and made sure nobody was around. Nodding, he was about to fly but noticed a fly buzzing around him. He was curious why the bug was so eager to hover around him but shrugged as he flew to the school.

Once inside, and looked around, he morphed back to human form and met up with Star.

"Well?" Star asks.

"He'll be hopping back to the Ghost Zone soon enough." Danny said, holding the Thermos up.

"That's good..." Star said.

The couple soon walked back to the front school and were still talking about Star's father's birthday party.

"So, who's invited to the party?" Danny asked.

"Solene, obviously. Not to mention some of my dad's friends, partners and colleagues..." Star answered.

"That so?" Danny asks.

"The party is gonna be at our place and there is a baseball game that my dad will be watching, one that he's been looking forward to seeing, so he's all set for a great night..." She added.

"So, are you sure you want me there? Sounds like you and I will be the only minors around." Danny said.

"True, but my dad likes you enough." Star said.

"Okay, so I guess I'll come..." He said.

"Thank you." Star said.

"I'd better head to the mall and think of what to get him… while under my budget. "He said, since Star's dad did get him a present for his own birthday, he felt that he owed him one.

Star smiled.

"Well, if it's from you, he'll love it..." She said.

As Danny walked with Star, the fly finally stopped watching and flew away.

Elsewhere, the two ghosts who were watching nodded in agreement as they stepped away from the screen, revealing them both to be anthropomorphic animals, an antelope and a goat.

"Alright! We got all the info we need!" The Antelope went.

"Hold tight, Antelo, we need to speak with the champ." The Goat, adjusting his glasses, insisted.

"Right, Goatsly!" He then looked up at the pair of eyes looking at them from the dark. "Champ! What say you?!" Antello asks.

The eyes squinted before nodding.

"Okay… so that kangaroo we bribed with fruit did as we hoped. So, we'll send this Danny Phantom an invite." Goatsly went.

"And now we got all 16! This is gonna be the game of the century! Let's get ready to-" Antelo was about to say, but Goatsly used a hand to cut him off.

"Save it for the ring!" Goatsly insisted.

"Right…" Antelo said. "We better get things all set up!"

With that, the two ghosts pressed a button at the console, switching to the baseball stadium in Amity Park.

"It's big… perfect for us." Goatsly said.

"Then let's get this party started!" Antelo went excitedly.

Brand new side story thanks to Flower princess11, one I've been itching to do for a while.
