bopdog111: Well this time another full Persona fic.
Ulrich362: True, actually this was an idea I was considering for a while and when Bopdog mentioned it I figured why not work on this one together.
bopdog111: To make it more precise Ulrich had considered this idea here before me, and him started our co-writing but I was the one that gave him the 'push' for it. It also came from me beating Persona 4 for real a while back.
Ulrich362: True, very true. So ready to get started Bopdog?
bopdog111: Hold on we should probably tell them about our main character first. You all probably guess but like Persona 3 Portable this will focus on a female counterpart on Yu Narukami. We are also doing a Persona 5 version too but that's in the making.
Ulrich362: Exactly, so enjoy this story and that one when it starts.
Disclaimer: We don't own the Persona Series.
It is what seems like a thick foggy night where something in the middle of the night was driving through. It seemed to be a long black limousine driving through to a unknown destination. Inside at the back was a small room that is blue with someone at the back waking up seeing the room. This person sees in front of her are two people. One at the side was a blue attire wearing male that has green hair with blue rim glasses, and yellow eyes while holding a book.
The other one is a male in front of the persona wearing a black suit with a long nose that's bald at the top of his head with his fingers interlocked with each other on a table in front of him. The man opened his eyes greeting to the person, "Welcome to the Velvet Room."
Sitting opposite him was a young woman with shoulder length gray hair and gray eyes who looked slightly confused. "Oh... thank you?"
"Ah... it seems we have a guest with an intriguing destiny..." the man chuckled from this. He then introduced himself towards her, "My name is Igor... I am delighted to make your acquaintance." He explained to her about the Velvet Room. "This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter... It is a room that only those who are bound by a "contract" may enter... It may be that such a fate awaits you in the near future."
Contract? What contract? She never recalled signing or needing to read a Contract when she is moving to her new home. Maybe it's something she didn't see looking or something while packing her things or something like that?
"Now then..." she looked back to Igor suggested, "Why don't you introduce yourself...?"
"Oh, alright." she smiled. "My name's Sonya Narukami. It's nice to meet you Igor."
"Hm... I see." Igor nodded hearing that. He then suggested to her, "Now, let's take a look into your future, shall we?" Her future? As she thinks that Igor reached a hand on the table before out of nowhere from a soft blue light a deck of cards appeared. The cards are blue like the room with a face that is like a mask of yin yang at the back. Seeing her blinking he asked her, "Do you believe in Fortune Telling?"
"I've never actually had my fortune read, but it could be fun." Sonya admitted with a smile as she looked at the cards.
Igor swiped his arm as the cards moved with 6 around the table's ring, and one at the middle which Igor explained to her, "Each reading is done with the same cards, yet the result is always different..." He gave a chuckle from that. "Life itself follows the same principles, doesn't it?" Then he moved his arm as by itself the card on his up left flipped over showing the Tower upright. "Hm... the Tower in the Upright Position represents the immediate future. It seems a terrible catastrophe is imminent."
"A catastrophe? Is there any way to avoid it?" Sonya asked nervously.
"The card indicating the future beyond that is..."
Igor moved his hand as the up-right card flipped showing the Moon also upright, "The Moon, in the upright position. This card represents "hesitation" and "mystery"... Very interesting indeed." From that he explained to her, "It seems you will encounter a misfortune at your destination, and a great mystery will be imposed upon you."
Sonya blinked hearing that. "A misfortune... and then a mystery?"
"In the coming days, you will enter into a contract of some sort, after which you will return here. The coming year is a turning point in your destiny... If the mystery goes unsolved, you future may be forever lost." Was what he explained over to her.
"What? Igor, you're kind of scaring me." Sonya admitted nervously.
"My duty is to provide assistance to our guests to ensure that does not happen." he assures her of that. With that said he swiped his arm which the cards vanished before he remembered something or someone, "Ah! I have neglected to introduce my assistant to you." Sonya turned to the man who had been sitting quietly while Igor introduced to her, "This is Alvin. He is a resident of this place, like myself."
The man, Alvin, bowed a little before telling her, "My name is Alvin, I am here to accompany you through your journey."
Seeing him Sonya's eyes widened as she smiled. "Oh, well I'm glad you'll be accompanying me Alvin."
"We shall attend to the details another time." She turned back to Igor who explained to her, "Until then, farewell..."
Sonya blinked as the Velvet Room seemed to fade before she found herself waking up on a train.
Confused she looked around as the train passed the tunnel where she sees from the distance a small town was at that doesn't look much but is quite peaceful. When the Train stopped at the Yasoinaba Station she gathered her things which is only a bag, and walked out of the train arriving in town. She walked out of the building holding her bag, and looked around the town.
It looks like a peaceful town that's quiet otherside from her big city which is usually noisy with traffic sounds, and sometimes computer typing from both of her parents' working hard but is quite cloudy. So since her parents had to work overseas for there jobs, she had to transfer to another school which her mother told her a relative of there's will take care of her throughout the year her parents are spending overseas. She wonders where those relatives are...
"Hey! Over here!" called a male voice.
Confused she turned over seeing a middle-aged man was waving her over. He has short black hair with gray eyes like her with a trimmed beard, and mustache with having on a dark gray shirt with a red tie, and a jacket over his right shoulder wearing dark brown pants, and black sneakers.
Beside him was a little girl that looks to be in elementary school wearing a dress that is three colors horizontal one of bright pink, one of pink, and one of dark brown with bright pink shoes on with brown hair that's in two ponytails that's on either side of her head.
Seeing them Sonya walked over to them, and smiled shaking the man's offered hand.
"Well, you're prettier in person than in your photo." the man smiled. "Welcome to Inaba. I'm Ryotaro Dojima. I'll be looking after you. Let's see... I'm your mother's younger brother... and that about sums it up."
Sonya smiled back at that. "Thanks uncle Dojima."
"Well you've really grown. I still remember when you were in diapers..." the man, Dojima, recalled from that.
Sonya couldn't help but let a small blush cross her face since her times at a baby were... embarrassing for her.
Before she can think more Dojima brought the little girl in front of him which Sonya turned over seeing her which Dojima introduced, "This here's my daughter. Come on, Nanako, introduce yourself to your cousin."
Sonya smiled kneeling down in front of Nanako, "Well hello there. I'm Sonya Narukami."
"... Hello." Nanako said quietly only to blush and hide behind Dojima's leg causing him to chuckle.
"What're you so shy for?" he asked only for Nanako to pout and smack his leg. "Ow... Hahaha."
Sonya giggled herself from this getting back on her feet, "Well this certainly be a change of pace..." She then looks around town, "It'll take a while to get used too though, I mean... back at home it isn't as quiet as here."
"Maybe, but there's something nice about the peace and quiet out here." Dojima mentioned. "Well then... let's get going."
With that he walked towards a car along with Nanako. Sonya moved to walk with them only for a voice to stop her, "...Hey."
Hearing that she turned around confused. She noticed a girl holding out a piece of paper. "You dropped this."
Seeing it was her handmade note of Dojima's name, and address Sonya smiled taking it, "Thank you."
"Whatever. All I did was pick it up." the girl mentioned before turning and walking off.
Sonya watched confused. Judging from her attitude she seems to be in a bad mood. But she didn't have time to think as Dojima called, "What's wrong?"
"Oh uh, nothing!" Deciding to not mind the girl's attitude for now Sonya quickly walked to follow Dojima, and Nanako.
After getting in Dojima drove them off away from Yasoinaba while Sonya looked through the window seeing the town wondering how she'll spend her life. There is a alcohol bar, a steak house, a shrine, and multiple other things some of which looked to be open for part-time. From her background she not once gotten a job since a lot of places that usually say part-time were quickly taken so this would be a nice change of pace for her once she applies for a job.
Just then she felt the car slowing down before looking seeing Dojima is parking at a Gas Station which she heard Nanako asked Dojima, "Dad... I need to use the bathroom."
As they did an attendant ran up to the car. "Hi! Welcome to Moel!"
"Can you go to the bathroom by yourself?" Dojima asked Nanako.
"Uh-huh." she nodded.
They exited which Sonya joined in from feeling her legs need to move stretching just as then attendant looking over to Nanako looking around, and decided to help, "It's in the back, to your left. You know which way's left? The side you don't hold your chopsticks in."
"I know... geez..." Nanako said dismayed before running off to the bathroom.
Now alone the attendant asked Dojima curiously, "Are you taking a trip?"
"No, we just went to pick her up." Dojima answered gesturing towards Sonya. "She just moved here from the big city."
"The city, huh...?" the attendant looked at Sonya interested hearing that.
"Fill up my car while you're at it. Regular's fine." Dojima said to the attendant handing him some yen which he nodded with a smile taking it which Dojima muttered to himself, "Good a time as any for a smoke..." He walked off leaving Sonya, and the attendant alone with the car.
"Are you in high school?" the attendant inquired getting Sonya's attention.
"Huh?" she asked.
"Does it surprise a city girl to see how little there is out here?" the attendant asked. "There's so little to do, I'm sure you'll get bored fast. You'll either be hanging out with your friends or doing part-time jobs. Speaking of which, we're actually looking for part-time help right now."
Sonya hearing that does nod, "Well it is quieter then I thought. I don't mind it just means, I can catch up on my beauty sleep that traffic usually steals from me." She sighed hearing that, "It be nice to sleep without any noise." Looking over to the attendant she asked him, "I am interested in it but are there any problems if I'm a student?"
"That isn't a problem at all, give it some thought if you get the chance." the attendant mentioned offering her hand.
Sonya nodded with a smile shaking his hand as Nanako having finished her business walked back which the attendant realized, "Oh, I better get back to work."
Sonya nodded which she let the attendant walked to the pump to get to work as she walked seeing Nanako only to freeze feeling light-headed, and her ears ringing all of a sudden which she hold her head with one hand groaning slightly.
"... Are you ok?" Nanako asked walking over to her. "Did you get carsick? You don't look too good..."
"Now that you mention it, maybe." Sonya admitted as Dojima walked over to them.
"What's wrong? You okay?" he asked.
Sonya looked over to him before shaking her head, "I'm okay, I'm probably just tired."
"That's understandable. It must have been a long trip for you." Dojima nodded. "Why not take a little walk, get some fresh air? Just let me know when you're ready to go."
"Alright, thanks uncle." Sonya nodded.
"I'll wait here. Why don't you take a walk and get some fresh air?" Dojima asked her, "The shopping district is near the house, so you should get to know where all the stores are."
Sonya nodded walking around town. She notices someone which is the girl from before but from the look on her face she doesn't look like she wants to talk so Sonya passes by her with a small wave walking. Over all she sees the stores include a bookstore which is Yomenaido Bookstore, a armory called Daidara Metalworks, a Tofu Shop called Markyu Tofu, and a convenience store known as Shiroku. All of them are pretty standard shops but it looks as though some people are looking miserable, and from listening in there talking bad about blaming something called 'Junes'.
She wasn't sure what Junes is but will ask Dojima, and Nanako about it when she gets the chance. Seeing the bookstore she looked over thinking what book to get before shrugging, "Ah well, I'll look over later right now, I want to get settled in." She walked back noticing a blue butterfly, and walked over before feeling something, and nodded to it, "I'll come to you again later." She walked back to the Gas Station where Dojima is waiting which he asked, "How're you feeling? Ready to get back in the car?"
"Yes sir." Sonya nodded.
"Alright, let's hit the road then." Dojima nodded which they all reentered the car at that.
A bit later they arrived at a small house as Dojima and Nanako walked in while Sonya looked up.
'So this is it, my uncle's house where I'll be living for the next year.' she thought with a smile before walking in after them.
After a while it was now the evening where all three were sitting in front of a table where there dinner is from Sonya helping them make it before they take there drinks which Dojima said to her, "All, right let's have a toast."
Sonya nodded with a smile as they raise there drinks, and take a sip together with it before placing it down. Dojima turned to his niece deciding to start a conversation, "So... your mom and dad are busy as always... they're working overseas, was it? I know it's only for a year, but getting stuck in a place like this because of your parents... it's rough being a kid."
"You have NO idea." Sonya emphasized at that before sighing, "Otherside from that you have to deal with traffic noises every time you try to catch some zs. And sometimes you have to deal with getting bored real fast when your trying to study when you can't focus on it... Often times big tests are my 'death sentence'..." She looked down with a sweatdrop from that which Dojima, and Nanako both feel a gloomy aura from her.
"I see..." Dojima nodded. "Well, it's just me and Nanako here, so it'll be nice having someone like you around. So long as you're here, you're part of the family, so make yourself at home."
Sonya nodded cheering up like an on switch nodding, "Thank you so much for that."
"You don't have to thank me for that." Dojima chuckled.
He then shrugged saying, "Well, anyway... let's eat."
They nodded moving to start eating only for a phone to start ringing.
"Ugh... Who's calling at this hour?" Dojima grumbled before getting his phone. "... Dojima speaking."
He listened to the person on the other end before getting up and walking away from Sonya and Nanako.
"Yeah? I see... So where is it?"
In the end he sighed, "Alright, I'm on my way." He then grumbled to himself, "Looks like I made the right choice to skip the booze..." He hanged up turning to the two girls telling them, "Sorry, but I gotta go take care of some business. Go ahead and eat without me. I don't know how late I'll be. Nanako, you help her out, okay?"
Nanako looked down but nodded, "...Okay."
Sonya at that said to him, "I'll place your food up when your ready for it. Be careful out there Uncle."
"Thanks." he nodded walking out only to pause. "Nanako, it's raining out. What did you do with the laundry!?"
"I already brought it in!" she answered.
"...All right. Well I'm off!" Dojima called as he exited the house as they hear a car driving off.
Nanako slowly sat down before pressing a button on the remote which turned the TV on as Sonya paid attention.
"- For this week. Next, let's look at the hourly breakdown of tomorrow's weather." mentioned a female voice. "With storm clouds moving in from the west, expect rain throughout the day tomorrow in most areas."
"... Let's eat." Nanako suggested.
Sonya nodded hearing that taking a bite before trying to start a conversation. "Your such a big girl you know." Nanako looked at her confused which Sonya explained, "Heading to the bathroom by yourself, and managing to handle the laundry. But it must be tough to do all that."
"Not really." Nanako answered. "My dad's a detective so he isn't home a lot, I learned how to do laundry and make myself scrambled eggs before school too."
"Oh really?" Sonya asked hearing that with a smile, "You kinda remind me of myself when I was young at home... I mean, with Dad, and Mom busy everyday someone had to take care of everything." She then sighed reminiscing, "It was hard but honestly a little fun, and... promise you won't laugh?"
"I promise." Nanako said turning to her.
Sonya stayed silent before admitting, "My dream is too actually be a housewife." That made Nanako blink as Sonya blushed explaining, "Well, I mean... It's not a job you earn money from or anything, it's just I like to take care of the house."
Nanako looked thoughtful before nodding. "Ok."
Feeling the conversation dying down they both turned back to the TV.
"And now for local news. City council secretary Taro Namatame is under fire for an alleged relationship with a female reporter. His wife, enka ballad sensation Misuzu Hiiragi, revealed to the station that she will likely pursue damages." announced a reporter.
Hearing that Sonya looked over hearing that. She known Taro Namatame as a happy guy but to hear him to get into this kind of scandal...
"In response, Eye Television has decided to cancel all of announcer Mayumi Yamano's televised appearances. Until allegations of an affair with Mr. Namatame are resolved, she'll remain off the air and out of the public eye." the reporter continued.
"...This is boring."
Sonya blinked as she watched Nanako changed the channel to a commercial. "At Junes, every day is Customer Appreciation Day. Come see for yourself, and get in touch with our products! *Every day's great at your Junes!*"
"Every day's great at your Junes!" Nanako sang happily at that before turning and noticing Sonya hadn't touched her food. "... Aren't you going to eat?"
"Huh?" Sonya blinked before saying, "Oh uh sorry!" She went to eat before starting a topic, "Oh by the way, that reminded me... what is Junes?"
That shocked Nanako.
"You don't know what Junes is?" she asked incredulously.
Sonya shook her head no honestly. Nanako smiled as she started to explain Junes to Sonya excitedly.
From what Sonya can tell it is a huge supermarket that have fresh produce, and multiple other things that the other shops in the middle district had that had moved here six months ago where it was taken by storm in the middle of Inaba. Nanako wanted to go visit there cause she's really fond of singing there song but due to her father working she's unable to head over.
When it ended Sonya now understood what the people at the shopping district are talking about; Junes had been stealing the business, and customers at that area which result in them starting to get shut down due to lack of business. She can't blame Junes for it since it was not anyone in Inaba's position for it but can sympathize with the store owners who's stores are getting shut down as a result.
Sonya nodded getting that in mind before thinking to herself, "Maybe I can head over to try doing some of my recipes..."
"Well, good night." Nanako mentioned politely.
"Huh? Oh, good night cuz." Sonya smiled taking Dojima's food, and placing it in the fridge covered before heading upstairs. Soon she yawned stretching, "Yeah... I'm tired..." She sighed before looking over her clothes, and dressed in her night wear, and laid down covering herself with the blanket, 'Finally... a night with nothing but peace, and quiet...' She quickly dozed off hearing that.
Suddenly Sonya found herself kneeling on a strange red path that was the only thing she could see through a incredibly thick fog.
"Huh? where am I?" she asked before hesitantly following the path. "Is this a dream, but what am I dreaming of?"
Eventually however she heard a strange voice.
"Do you seek the truth...?"
"Huh? Who said that?" Sonya asked looking around. When she heard no response she continued down the path running through some edges.
"If it's truth you desire, come and find me..."
Sonya kept looking around kept running to find the voice. Eventually she reached a strange door as she could just tell the voice was behind it as the door slowly opened and she could just barely make out a humanoid figure in the fog.
"So... you are the one pursuing me..." the figure noted as Sonya suddenly found herself holding a katana. "Hmhmhm... Try all you like..."
Sonya couldn't help but feel a little threatened about this before she moved slashing down which hit the figure but almost no damage.
"Hmm... it seems you can see a little, despite the fog..." the figure noted thoughtfully before Sonya tried to slash at the figure again. "I see... indeed... that is very interesting information..."
"What are you talking about?" Sonya asked hearing that before seeing a card in her hand, and crushed it where a lightning bolt almost hit the figure, "What the?"
"But... you will not catch me so easily..." the figure stated. "It what you seek is 'truth,' then your search will be even harder..."
At that the figure seemed to glow before the fog got even thicker.
"What-hey!" Sonya moved after the figure from the fog.
"Everyone sees what they want to... And the fog only deepens..." the figure stated as Sonya soon wasn't able to see anything but the fog. "...Will we meet again...? At a place other than here... Hmhm... I look forward to it..."
With those words Sonya soon found herself losing consciousness.
Ulrich362: Apologies for the short introduction but well... suffice it say a lot is going to happen very soon.
bopdog111: And it starts with a single step as what Sonya took.
Ulrich362: True, so next up Sonya will meet a few of her new classmates, and possibly learn about quite the interesting rumor?
bopdog111: And probably make herself an instant like by boys.
Ulrich362: Probably, see you in the next chapter.
bopdog111: Be sure to review!
