It's 7 am on a September Sunday in Chicago. Gabriela Dawson just got up and went to take a shower as she did every morning. After finding out she was pregnant five weeks ago, her doctor limited her to only one cup of coffee per day. So after she showered and got ready for the day, she went into the kitchen that she shared with her husband, Matt Casey. Being the protective and loving husband he is, he gets worried when she even drinks one cup of coffee especially after her first failed pregnancy. Coffee is a stimulant therefore your blood pressure and heart rate will increase and that's not good during a pregnancy. She managed to get the okay from her doctor to have only one cup of coffee per day. With that being said, she tries to drink it earlier in the morning before he's up, so she doesn't get that dreaded lecture.

After her coffee was made she grabbed her computer and a blueberry muffin. After doing so, she made her way to the table and pulled up her idea list for the best places to purchase baby clothing that she's been putting together for a couple days now. She had mainly been getting ideas from Cindy, Hermanns wife and Donna, who was Boden's. The Hermann's have five kids while the Boden's have Terrance. It's only been 12 weeks so they don't know if they are having a baby boy or girl. Matt wants a boy, but Gabby wants a girl because she doesn't know why, but she always saw Casey as a girl dad even before they got together.

As long as they have a very healthy baby that's all that really matters. After putting together some more stores, she started browsing the first few on her list just to see what she could find. After doing this for a while she started to feel sick again, damn you morning sickness. Before she could continue on, she had to rush off to the bathroom and you know the rest. As she was cleaning up and getting ready to go back to her computer, she heard her husband getting up. As Matt started to open his eyes, after a few times of hitting snooze on his phone's alarm the fifth time was the charm. When he snoozed for the final time, he saw it was 8:15 in the morning. When he finally went to roll over and reach out for his sleeping beauty, he touched nothing but cold and empty bed sheets. It didn't take him long to find out just where his wife was currently. As he was making his way to the bathroom he heard a knock on their front door. He was about to answer it until he heard his wife beat him to it. Before continuing back to the bathroom he decided to be safe and go to the door with her. When he did he was happy yet surprised to see that it was Severide and Kidd. "Oh hey, Dad.'' said Severide. "Well good morning to you too, Severide, Stella.'' said Casey.

"They were just in the neighborhood and wanted to check in on us.'' Gabby informed her husband. "How are you feeling Gabby?'' Stella then asked. "I've been okay, I've been having really bad morning sickness at least twice a day, sometimes just once. Other than that it's been pretty smooth sailing so far, but I know that won't last.'' "Well at least you're finally fulfilling your guy's dreams of building a family.'' added Severide. "Yeah, that's definitely a plus side!'' said Casey, while putting his arm around his wife's lower back. "So do you guys want to come in for a bit?'' asked Casey. "Oh no, we just wanted to stop by for a quick check in, see how our favorite future parents are doing.'' "That's very sweet of you both, thank you." Gabby said with a smile. "So, Gabby, are you ready to start at OFI again? I hear they were happy to welcome you back. For longer this time hopefully.'' They all nodded in agreement.

After Stella and Kelly left them to themselves, Casey went to finally get his shower in, but not before giving his wife a quick kiss on the lips promising her he would be quick. After he left her to shower this time she grabbed her favorite blanket and curled up on the couch with just her and a television. She picked up the remote and started flipping through the various channels, until she finally settled on the local news. The first couple events were boring, but chills were sent down Gabby's spine the second an all too familiar name was mentioned and put up across her screen, Charles Baker. "Charles Baker has supposedly struck again, two houses in the city of Chicago were tragically burnt to the ground minutes ago.'' "Oh my God." was all Gabby could get out. "What's going on babe?" Casey frantically asked. As Gabby turned the television off she simply stated, "Charles Baker has struck again."
