Chapter 1: Familiar of Zero

(The Final World)

In the vast and seemingly endless cloudy blue sky, a lone figure could be seen standing, looking around at the surroundings with confused look. The figure was a teenage boy who looked like he was fifteen or sixteen. He had spiky brown hair, blue eyes and wore a black and red outfit with a crown shaped necklace hanging around his neck.

This is Sora, a boy who had been chosen by the Keyblade, a kid hero who had saved not only one but many worlds from falling into the darkness.

After his final battle against the ultimate evil that was Xehanort, Sora and his friends emerged victorious. However, victory didn't come without a price...

To bring back the most important person to him, Sora had to use the Power of Waking and collected the pieces of her heart to restore her existence. But for misusing the power against its intent and purposes, Sora had to pay a heavy price...

His own existence...

He still remembered their last moment sitting on Papou tree on Destiny Island. It felt so much like back then when things were simple and clean. Back then when there were only three of them.

And most importantly her last smile before she let out a single tear, knowing well the consequences of his actions just to save her.

He wouldn't be lying if he didn't feel bad for her, but he didn't regret it at all. They can take his world. They can take his heart. Cut him loose from all he knew. But if it was fate then every step forward would always be a step closer to home.

Filled with a new resolve to find a way back, Sora took a step forward until everything suddenly turned white.

(Unknown)

Darkness... That was all Sora could feel as his consciousness began to leave him. As this happened a stream of memories of his adventures flashed through his eyes. Be it good or bad ones, there were memories that he had made and treasured forever.

He could hear their voices. All the friends he had made on his journey. But most importantly her...

"Sora, don't ever change."

"This is real..."

"I told you Sora, you're safe with me."

"Don't ever forget. Wherever you go, I'm always with you."

"We'll be together everyday. Right, Sora."

"I want to be a part of your life no matter what. That's all."

A smile crept on Sora's face as he uttered the name of the red haired girl whom he harbored a special feeling in his heart. "Kairi..."

The coldness of the dark he felt before was now replaced with the familiar warmth he felt every time he held Kairi's hand as the spiky boy let himself fall into another peaceful slumber.

...

Soft and grassy. Those were what Sora was feeling beneath him when he regained his consciousness. He felt his eyelids twitching before they began to flutter. As Sora regained his consciousness back, he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the clear blue sky.

"Uhhh... what a dream."

Still feeling a bit drowsy, Sora started to turn over and pushed himself up. After getting up, Sora stretched himself and then realized that he was no more in the Final World and he wasn't alone. The boy was currently standing in the middle of a field outside a castle-like building and surrounded by people in robes and an elderly looking man.

"Huh? What happened? How did I get here? What is this place?" Sora wondered aloud.

He looked around the crowd and noticed that there were strange looking animals ranging from a blue dragon, a red lizard with flaming tail, and many strange looking creatures which he could draw the comparisons to the Dream Eaters he befriended in the Realm of Sleep.

A petite girl with long pink hair then approached Sora which earned the boy's attention. However, for some reason Sora didn't understand, she had this look of disappointment directed towards him.

"You, where do you come from?"

"Huh?" Sora blinked his eyes twice. What did she just say?

A few hours earlier...

(Halkeginia-Academy of Magic)

Another day had come upon the land of Halkeginia where Tristain Academy of Magic, a school of magic where new generations of future mages came to study, was located.

Inside one of the dormitory rooms, a girl with long pink hair twitched around her bed from the sunlight that passed through the window and touched her face. Groggily, she opened her eyes, revealing the matching colors as her hair before she slowly got up from her bed to start her day.

Quickly the girl brushed her hair and put on her uniform and robe and a wand lying on her desk. After making sure she was decent enough, the girl finally left her room.

Later inside the class, the pink haired girl and the rest of her classmates were introduced to their teacher, an elderly woman in black dress and purple robe with the matching mage hat.

"Hello everyone, and congratulations on making it to your second year of the Tristain Magic Academy. My name is Chevreuse and I will be your teacher. I will teach you the subject of earth magic for the next two semesters."

After the woman introduced herself, she asked the class a question, "Now can anyone tell me the four main elements of magic?"

Miss Chevreuse's eyes scanned the class while waiting for a response from a student. Among them, five male students, instead of paying attention to their teacher, were ogling one particular female student. She had long red hair with a tall buxom figure, tan skin with brownish gold eyes. Unlike the other female students who buttoned their shirts properly, she let a few of them unbuttoned from top, revealing her shapely curved cleavages for everyone to see.

One student then stood to answer the question and it was a male student with blond hair and blue eyes. He wore a white, ruffled-collar shirt beneath his mage cloak and violet pants. Unlike other students, he had a rose which served as his magic wand.

"The four main element of magic are fire, water, wind and earth. And it just so happens that my element is earth, same as yours my lady." Then in flamboyant manner, he began to introduce himself. "My name is Guiche de Granmont, and my title is Guiche the Bronze. I look forward to working with you."

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Mr. Granmont." replied the mage teacher before addressing the class. "Now as you can see here, earth magic is one of the most important of the four elements since it governs all of creations. Without earth, there will be no life."

Chevreuse took out three pebbles from her pocket and placed it on her desk for everyone to see. "To help you understand better how it works, we will perform a little practice."

Then she pointed her wand at the pebbles and cast a spell. "Lel. In. Yan."

The pebbles began to glow from the magic and in a flash of light they were turned into something yellow and shiny similar to...

"I... Is that gold?!" The tan red haired girl leaned forward, surprised and not realizing how she just gave a brief service to male students nearby and much to the female students' ire.

"Unfortunately Miss Zerbst, these are just brass." The teacher shook her head which made the one named Zerbst slump on her desk in disappointment. "Now can anyone do the same? It's a very simple transmutation spell."

Chevreuse then looked around the class and found the pink haired girl who was taking notes. She had heard many things of her but they were mostly negative rumors around the school which she couldn't believe at all. And today she would prove it by giving the lucky a girl a chance.

"Louise de la Vallière. Please come forward."

In an instant, the students were filled with dread and fear as their eyes turned to the pinkette named Louise and started begging Chevreuse not to let her perform any magic since she would 'blow' everything up. Ignoring their over reactions, Louise stopped writing and walked to the teacher's desk where the teacher had placed another set of pebbles.

"Calm your mind and think of the metal you want to turn them into." Miss Chevreuse instructed.

Right now everyone had hidden under their desks except one student, a stoic looking girl with short blue hair and wore glasses. Instead of hiding under her desk, she grabbed her book and magic staff and calmly walked out of the class.

"Louise, please don't do this for us and your own good!" begged the busty girl.

"Shut up Kirche! You're distracting me!" Louise retorted with a scowl. She aimed her wand at the pebbles on the desk and repeated the spell her teacher used.

"Lel. In. Yan."

Soon, Miss Chevreuse would learn a very hard lesson when she chose a student for practice in front of the class for next time... if she would still continue teaching afterwards...

(Principal's Office)

In the office located on the top floor of the main building, two mages were seen doing their job.

The first mage was an old man whose appearance could be mistaken for a hermit inspecting stack of documents placed on his desk, showing his position as the principal of the school. He had long white hair and beard as a result of his old age and wore black hooded mage robe.

The second mage was a young woman who looked like in her twenties filing out the documents in her desk. She had long green hair styled into a ponytail and wore a pair of glasses and wore the same attire as Miss Chevreuse minus the hat.

"It seems we're starting this semester without any form of trouble. As the principal I couldn't be happier." said the principal, composed. Then he was just about to smoke his tobacco pipe only to have it levitate away from him by his secretary. "Hah. Still using the same old trick I see."

Placing the pipe next to her as a mean to confiscate it, the woman replied, "Taking care of your health is also part of my job as your assistant, Principal Osmond."

"Miss Longueville? Are you really fine with taking away what little pleasure I still have left in this world?" The old mage known as Osmond asked with sad face as he approached his secretary.

Suddenly, Miss Longueville twitched upon feeling a hand touching her rear. "Could you please stop rubbing my backside, sir?" She asked politely but there was a warning behind her tone.

The old man who turned out to be a pervert immediately removed his hand, but soon he decided to play senile and kept going.

"Please sir. Stop acting like you have schizophrenia." The secretary's plea however fell on deaf ears much to her increasing ire as she swore under her breath, "You damn old coot..."

Old Osmond soon remembered something important as he dropped his act and turned to the window, stroking his beard.

"That's right. Tomorrow is the familiar summoning ritual for all the second years, isn't it? A familiar is both servant and friend to its master." said the headmaster.

Suddenly a mouse came out from Miss Longueville dress, unnoticed by the woman. Osmond crouched down and the mouse climbed to the principal's hand. "Take Motsognir here. He's been my companion for years."

He then brought the mouse close to his face and nodded a few times as if he could understand what the mouse was telling him. "Oh, white you say? Not bad. Although personally I think Miss Longueville would be better in black than white."

Hearing this, the secretary realized that her private area had been peeked by the principal's familiar and immediately closed her legs and rushed to him with heavy blush and cross-popping veins on her forehead. "Principal Osmond! That's sexual harassment you just did! If you ever do that again, I'll report it to the palace!" warned Longueville.

"Hah! Don't get so angry just because someone took a small peek at your underwear! Keep up that attitude, and you'll never find a man."

And that was the last straw. As dutiful and patient Longueville was, there was limit of her tolerance and the old mage just pushed his luck beyond the boundary. Ignoring the fact that he was the man with the position above her, Longueville started beating up Osmond by kicking him many times that the old man started begging her to stop.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!*

As if the heavens had heard the plea of the pitiful downed mage, a loud explosion was heard followed by a small rumble which made Longueville stop.

"Was that an explosion just now?" wondered Osmond as he slowly got up using his magic staff as support.

The secretary nodded. "Yes sir. I assume it was 'her' again."

"Ah yes... the third daughter to the Vallière bloodline..." The old mage trailed off as he stroked his beard and looked outside the window.

(Miss Chevreuse classroom)

The class, for a better word, was in total mess after what was supposed to be a simple transmutation spell practice.

The students were literally blown apart. Some of them were buried in chairs. While none of them suffered serious injuries, their clothes were charred from top to bottom. But none of them had it as bad as Louise whose uniform wasn't only charred but also torn by her spell.

"What's wrong with you?! Are you trying to kill us?!" Kirche shouted angrily from her desk.

Despite of her current state of modesty, Louise calmly dusted herself off and replied, "It seems that I made a small error."

"W... what part of that was a small error?" One student weakly asked from under his ruined desk.

Guiche then came out from the pile of chairs and angrily pointed his finger at Louise. "Like always, you are a Zero when it comes to magic!"

"Louise the Zero..." Louise acted like that nickname didn't bother her but internally it always got to her. She then turned to the teacher who was lying on the ground, unconscious and twitching.

After the incident, Louise was sent to the headmaster's office.

Outside the office, Kirche and the blue haired bespectacled girl and another girl were waiting for the pinkette to come out. The girl had blond, curly long hair and blue eyes and a large red ribbon tied around her hair. Her name was Montmorency.

Soon after, the door opened and Louise was greeted by the three.

"So, what happened? Another trip to detention or are they finally going to expel you? Personally I hope it's the latter." The blond girl asked in mocking tone before she and Kirche laughed.

"They chose to let me off with a warning this time, mostly because it was the teacher who is also to blame for having me come up, even with all the students telling her it was a bad idea." Louise's answer only made both girls laugh even harder as she walked past them, annoyed. "I'm just having an off day alright."

"Tell me something I don't know. You're always having a bad day. I mean you don't even have a real title other than Louise the Zero." taunted the redhead as she and the blue haired girl followed Louise, making the latter irritated further.

"Will you just shut up?!" Louise shouted.

"Tomorrow is Familiar summoning ritual, I'm sure yours will be another big blunder as usual." Kirche crossed her arms and puffed out her chest.

"I have great confidence in the summon servant ritual!" declared Louise. She then pointed her finger at them. "I'll show you! I'll summon the most sacred, strong, and most beautiful familiar anyone has ever seen."

With that Louise walked away leaving both girls silent. Kirche then moved her head closer to the blue haired girl and asked, "So Tabitha, how do you think tomorrow will be like?"

The girl named Tabitha only shook her head and replied, "I don't know..."

(Night)

Night finally fell upon the land of Halkeginia.

Inside one of the dormitory rooms, Kirche was taking bath under the moonlight through her windows. The redhead gently scrubbed her body, thinking about what Louise said earlier.

"I don't understand... She never got any spell to work even for once, yet she looked so confident... Could she actually... Nah, impossible."

Kirche shook her head to dismiss that thought. As if it would be possible. As she leaned back in her bath tub to relax, she heard the sound of door knocking.

"Oh right. I'll be there in a minute Styx." answered Kirche.

"Kirche it's me Pelisson. Are you awake?" asked the guy behind the door who turned out to be someone else.

"Oops, I forgot Styxs is seeing me tomorrow." Kirche then got out of her tub and grabbed her wand and cast a spell to make her towel wrapped around her. The curvy girl then cast another spell to grab her sleepwear before meeting with her guest. "So sorry about that Pelisson, I'll be there in a moment."

Meanwhile in Louise's room, the pink haired girl just undressed and put her nightgown. As she made her way and flopped onto her bed, she thought back to what she just said to Kirche and Tabitha.

Her face slowly turned into mix of frustration and embarrassment. Why did she have to open her big mouth? She was tired of the jeers and insults and Zero nickname and she wanted to prove herself as a capable mage tomorrow. But she wasn't that ignorant either of her... 'mistakes'. She knew what the result might be for tomorrow.

"I have great confidence in the summon servant ritual... Damn it! Why did I say that?! Why?" She whined, burying her face into her pillow before falling asleep.

(Louise dream)

Louise didn't know where she was. Everything around her was an endless pitch black of darkness. She walked around and tried to call someone for help but there was no answer.

Fear and loneliness began to take over as Louise started running as far as she could and shouted for help. But once again, she received an empty answer.

Was this her punishment for being a 'failure' of a mage? A black sheep of her family? A Zero?

All hopes seemed to be lost until a small but bright light appeared in front of the girl. In curiosity, Louise approached the light and touched it with her hand and everything turned white.

When the light dissipated, Louise slowly opened her eyes and found herself floating in yellow aura. The young mage wondered if this was some sort of magic but then her attention shifted to what lay beneath her.

It was a large circular stained glass mural with a picture of a boy sleeping on the right side of the platform. He had a spiky brown hair and wore an outfit which Louise found really odd: a red suit with baggy pants under white and black jacket, a pair of oversized yellow shoes and white fingerless gloves. In his hand was a large key as big as a sword.

Slowly she descended and as soon as her foot made contact with the glass platform, the entire place lit up, blinding her. Louise immediately covered her eyes to shield herself from the intense light.

"FWAH!?"

Suddenly, Louise woke up from the dream, jolting forward on her bed. Cold sweats running down her neck as the pink haired mage breathed in and out to calm herself. Louise then looked around her surroundings and noticed that it was already morning from the sunlight entering through the window.

"That was so weird... What was that supposed to mean?" She pondered, not knowing what all that was about and who that boy was supposed to be. She decided to forget about it and get ready. Today was the day where her class would summon the familiars.

(Courtyard)

At the academy's courtyard, all the 2nd year students had gathered to participate in familiar summoning ritual. Their guiding teacher was a middle aged partially baldly looking bespectacled man in teacher's robe and carrying a magic staff.

"Hello everyone, my name is Jean Colbert and I'll be supervising you all during this exam. Now before we begin, I'd like you all to remember that this is a sacred ritual for you all, because the familiar that you'll have summoned and bonded with is the one you will spend your entire life with as a mage."

While everyone was excited, wondering what kind of familiar they would get from summoning, Louise still felt anxious, hoping she wouldn't screw up again.

"I can't wait to see how impressive your familiar will be, Louise the zero." Kirche suddenly appeared behind Louise and teased her.

"Would you just back off alright?" Louise was having none of her shenanigans. Colbert then continued.

"Now without any interruptions let us being the ritual."

Under the supervision of their teacher, the student began to take turns summoning the familiar. The familiars ranged from the ordinary animals like birds, dogs, cats to more exotic beasts such as dragon, ethereal deer, and unicorn.

"You know, a familiar is to represent the mage you are now and the mage you are to become." Montmorency said. "I'll die of embarrassment if mine is as strange as that one." She finished while looking at one student who summoned a big floating eye creature.

"I'm sure that you familiar will be a lovely as you are my dear." reassured Guiche. "Any familiar that appears before you is fitting only for your beauty."

Montmorency however felt more uncomfortable to his over the top praises. The blonde then was the next one getting called by the professor to summon his familiar. Much to the rest of the students' ire who hadn't got their turns yet, Guiche was giving the entire class a very long and unnecessary monologue before he was told to stop by the professor and continue with the summoning.

"I Guiche de Gramont ask the great Brimir for your guidance. Please bring a noble being to aid at my side. Hear my command and show thy self."

After finishing his chant, the ground in front of him shook before a giant mole appeared from the ground. Both the blonde mage and the mole stared at each other for a moment before a fire sound caught Guiche's attention and turned to see a large dark red lizard with flaming tail.

"A fire salamander. Kirche, did you summon this creature?" asked Guiche. Kirche simply nodded at him before he turned his attention back to the mole.

"My word... you summon quite a spectacular familiar, Miss Zerbst." praised Colbert as he adjusted his glasses at the lizard.

"Thank you, sir. It's a perfect match for my title: 'Kirche the Ardent' isn't it?"

The teacher then turned to the rest of the students and asked, "Now has everyone finished summoning their familiars?"

"Not all of us, sir. Louise 'The Zero' hasn't summoned hers yet." answered Kirche.

And her words were true, while everyone else was bonding with their familiars Louise was the only one without it. "With all the talk the other day, you said you would summon something even better than this, right?" taunted the flame mage as she scratched her salamander's head like a cat.

"Of course I will." Louise replied with a pout on her face. She then took her wand and began to chant.

"Please work... Please hear me, my familiar who lives among the stars. Appear to me oh wise, divine and strong! Answer my prayers and plea to my heart! Heed my guidance and come forth!"

"What kind of chanting is that supposed to be?" One student questioned as Louise waved her wand and ...another explosion was unleashed.

Thankfully no one was harmed by the incident, but some students were coughing from inhaling smoke and dust. Guiche then saw Montmorency on the ground and quickly came to her aid.

"*Cough* Are you alright?!" He asked. However, the blonde girl didn't answer and instead she pointed at where Louise cast her spell.

Guiche, Kirche, even Tabitha and the rest of the students were at loss of words when they saw what kind of familiar Louise the 'Zero' had just summoned...

It was a human...

Louise's familiar was teenage boy who looked like around their age. He was dressed in strange red and black outfit composed of hooded jacket, baggy pants, and a pair of large shoes that looked like a jester would wear. His brunette hair looked abnormally spiky that one could compare it to a hedgehog familiar.

The then students began commenting at this as they had never seen this before.

"It's... a human?"

"Look at his outfit. He looks like a plebeian."

"Plebian? But I have never seen a plebian wearing that outfit. It looks too good for a plebian."

"Why does his hair look like that? It's even spikier than my familiar."

While other students where voicing their thoughts on Louise's newly summoned familiar, the girl herself was at the loss of words. 'How was that possible?' was the only question on her mind as she stared at her familiar with twitching eyes.

"This...this is supposed to be my wise, divine and strong familiar?"

But what she didn't realize was the boy in front of her was the same boy she saw in her dream. A boy chosen by the destiny to become hero of the worlds...

Flashback End

"Again plebeian, who are you?" Sora raised an eyebrow, not understanding what this girl was saying at slightest. During the journey visiting different worlds in his adventure, Sora never had a language barrier problem before since the people he met always spoke the same common language as his.

The girl put her hands on hips and asked again, "Don't you speak our language?"

"Uh... what?" asked Sora. Suddenly both he and the girl heard a chuckle coming from the crowd.

"I see you were able to back up your claim!" A red haired, tan skinned girl said as she tried to stifle her amusement. "I mean of all things who would ever guess your familiar was a plebeian."

"I see you never fail at meeting our standard Louise the Zero." taunted one fat boy with an owl before everyone started laughing at the pink haired girl, leaving the lone spiky boy confused and wondered what they were laughing about. Was it a joke that was told or whatever?

"I just made a small error, okay!?" retorted the girl as her class laughed even harder.

Sore then approached the girl, trying to talk with her. "Uh, hey-"

"QUIET!" before he could finish, the girl shouted at Sora, startling him, and turned to the elderly man. "Mr. Colbert, please let me redo the summon servant spell."

"I'm sorry Miss Vallière but I can't allow that." The bespectacled man shook his head. "This ceremony has always been used to represent a noble's worth. Asking for a retake is basically disrespectful to the ritual itself, thus regardless this boy is your familiar whether you like it or not."

From nearby, Sora could only watch in confusion as he scratched the back of his head. "Gee... I can't tell what they're talking about. Are they talking about my presence here?"

The petite girl then approached Sora again and much to his surprise yanked the spiky boy's hood before she dragged him towards the older man.

"Whoa!? Hey!"

"But you can't be serious sir, a human as a familiar?! This is unheard of!" She reasoned. Everyone except her and the man started laughing again.

"That's just how it is. Now finish the spell Miss Vallière!" The man said, with an air of finality. "Finish the ceremony. If you keep stalling I will expel you from this school!"

The girl finally gave up and let out a sigh and turned to Sora with a scowl and blush, causing him to look back at her, confused. Was she upset about something? Why was it had something to do with him? Meanwhile, the crowd started teasing and encouraging the pink haired girl to finish the pact.

"Go for it Zero! At least you won't be zero anymore for your first kiss!"

"Come on! Just do it!"

"Hey at least that plebian is cute, so it's not a total loss for you." teased one girl.

"You should be grateful. As a noble, I would never do this for someone of your status!" Louise said blushing as she raised her wand and began reciting her vow to her familiar. "My name is Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière. Oh hear me, pentagon of the five elemental powers, bless this humble being and make him my familiar."

Sora tilted his head, wondering what the girl was talking about. When she finished her chant, the girl gently placed her hands onto Sora's cheeks and brought her face closer to him as she closed her eyes and slowly pressed her lips against his.

The Keyblade wielder didn't expect this. His eyes went wide in shock before he pushed the girl off for suddenly kissing him. That was his first kiss! One which should be reserved for someone special to him!

"Gah! What the heck?!" Sora shouted as he wiped his mouth with a deep blush on his face. "Why did you suddenly kiss-" He was cut short as a sharp, burning pain suddenly ran through his body before it transferred to his left hand. "Ouch! What's this?! What's happening to me?!"

The bespectacled man adjusted his glasses as he observed. "It looks like the familiar contract is at its final phase."

"It'll be over soon, the runes are just being engraved on you." She said but Sora still couldn't understand what they were saying.

When the pain became more tolerable, Sora took off his left glove and saw a marking appeared on his hand. The elderly man with glasses saw this and was astonished by the marking. Taking out his pocket book, he did a quick drawing on one blank page.

The man then turned to address the crowd. "This concludes the familiar summoning ceremony. You all may return to your dorm now and spend the rest of today to get know your familiars better."

(Later at Louise's room-Night)

Time went on like a flying arrow. By the time Louise and Sora returned to her room, it was already night. Nevertheless to say, today was not the great day for the pink haired mage. She wanted a great majestic familiar like Tabitha's dragon or maybe a Griffin. Instead, she got a human...

But at very least, he'd be able to do chores for her...

"I thought about it long enough to make my stomach turn, but I'm done. As of today you are my familiar!" She said, pointing at Sora.

But alas, the spiky boy had no idea again what she was saying. "This is weird. None of us can understand each other. What are you trying to say?"

And the answer he got was the mage robe thrown at him. Startled, Sora took the robe off his face and immediately his cheeks started turning red when he saw Louise in nothing but her underwear. Why was she stripping?!

"Whoa! Hey! What are you doing!? Can't you see there's a guy here!?"

Louise however ignored his protest since either she didn't care or she didn't understand his language as she threw him her white dress. "Wash my uniform and I want you to iron them as well. Even if you don't understand me, at least you understand this, right?"

But all her familiar did was babbling something incoherent while covering his eyes. Disappointed, Louise looked at Sora and sighed.

"Seriously you can't even understand something so simple. He's dumber than a dog."

Having enough of hearing his nonsense, Louise then remembered one spell which could silence a person's voice. But how did it go again? She then took her wand and pointed it at Sora.

"Ausul. Bel. An. Answer my words and hear my request. Now silence!"

But instead of getting the desired result, as usual her magic blew up again, knocking Sora off his feet from the explosion. Louise stared at what just happened, confused.

"Was... that a fireball or lightning spell?"

Her attention turned to her familiar who stood up, coughing, and dusted off his clothes before glaring back at her. "What's the big idea!? First you kissed me and now you tried to blow me up?!"

The pink haired girl stared at Sora, dumbfounded before she replied in low voice, "I... I understood what you just said..."

"Huh?" Sora blinked before realizing that the girl just spoke in common language he used. "Wait, you can understand me now? Like now we are speaking the same language?"

Louise nodded but then realized that she just got talked back by her own familiar. "Say something else!" Louise demanded.

"Oh right! Why did you kiss me back there!? It was my first!" Sora asked with a frown. Louise just sighed in response as another spell went wrong again...

"I can't believe it... That spell was supposed to shut you up... *Sigh* Another failure..." She then turned to the boy and asked, "You, what's your name?"

"My name? Oh yeah, since we understand each other I guess we should introduce ourselves." Despite what he had experienced from the girl, Sora did his best to put his friendly smile to her. "I'm Sora."

Louise cocked her eyebrow. Sora? No last name? What kind of name was that? That name also didn't sound like Tristanian. Was he a foreigner from faraway land?

"So where are we anyway?" asked the boy. Louise put her hands on her hips and answered.

"You're in the Tristain Academy of Magic. I summoned you to be my familiar during the summoning ceremony."

"Familiar? Summoning ceremony?" He blinked, unfamiliar with what Louise said. "What are those?"

(The Library)

At this time the library had been closed for the public, however on this occasion Professor Colbert was seen going over the books from the cabinets. Ever since he saw the runes which belonged to Miss Valliere's student's familiar, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he ever saw it somewhere.

To confirm this, he searched through all the history books about the familiars. After searching from many books, the mage finally found one. His eyes went wide in disbelief as he kept reading the page description of the rune which had the same markings as the one on the boy's hand.

"...By the Brimir! I'll have to tell this to headmaster!"

(Louise's room)

"So, we are in the Kingdom of Tristain, located in Halkeginia. And you are a student of this magic school and you happened to have summoned me as the result from your summoning ritual?" Sora tried to summarize. The boy was currently leaning against the wall with hands behind his head.

And much to his discomfort, the pink haired girl before him was still in her underwear. She didn't look embarrassed at the slightest despite the presence of another man in her room.

"That's not how you address your master, familiar. But I'll let it slide since this is your first time serving me. My name is Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière and you shall better remember it." She introduced herself with a dignified tone.

"Louise. So that's your name, huh? Got it." Nodding, Sora then walked to the table where his left glove was before putting it back on. "And I'm a 'familiar', a spirit creature that helps out mage which is you?"

"Yes-yes, you got it right..." She replied nonchalantly before sighing. "But why out of all familiars, I had to get you as one? I wanted something grand and majestic like a dragon or maybe a griffin..."

"Man, this is too much..." Sora rubbed his head, exasperated before walking towards the door. "I think I need some fresh air to clear my head first..."

"Hey! I haven't given you permission to-" Louise's eyes shot wide when she saw that Sora was no longer there. How did he escape so fast without her noticing it? "Are you joking?! He ran away!"

(Courtyard)

Back at the courtyard Sora was taking a night stroll to clear his mind. He looked up above and noticed two moons, one blue and one red, in the sky.

"Oh. I should tell everyone that I'm okay." Sora then dug into his pocket and took out the gummi phone, a smartphone like device capable of communicating between the worlds. He then swiped the contact list, hoping to find the familiar names.

"Riku... gotcha!" with another tap, Sora tried to call Riku. However there was only static noise coming from the phone before the call automatically hung up.

"What?! Am I out of range?" Surprised, Sora then tried dialing another contact. "Maybe the King?"

But the result was same. However, Sora didn't want to give up yet. If the gummi phone couldn't work, maybe he could open the gate of the world to travel back home.

Reaching out his right hand, the Kingdom Key keyblade then appeared. Sora then aimed it at the sky, but just like what happened to his gummi phone, nothing happened.

"I don't understand... What's wrong here?" He asked himself as he let the keyblade disappear from his grasp and looked at his hands. "I don't feel any different than before and I still have my keyblade. So, why can't I open a gate?"

As Sora contemplated his current situation, his mind recalled back his conversations with people who warned him about misusing the Power of Waking.

"What do you think the Power of Waking is? It's for traversing hearts to reach worlds. Not traversing through worlds to reach hearts. There's a high price to pay for wielding such power foolishly."

"Sora, listen. The Power of Waking isn't to go chase hearts around! Even if you do locate Kairi, you might never come home to us again."

"That's not how it's supposed to work at all. The Power of Waking is meant to be used to wake and restore sleeping hearts, not to restore them after they've completely faded away from existing. You'll lose your powers, you won't be able to use the Power of Waking and you... will vanish from this world, and without your power you can't return to the world you came from."

He looked at his right palm before clutching it into a fist "Well, that's proven not completely true. I still have my powers and I will-"

"There he is!" Sora was cut short when an angry voice belonged to Louise came from behind. He turned around to see her along with a blonde guy and a tan, red haired girl.

Before he could even greet them with a hello, Sora suddenly felt his body weightless before he was lifted off the ground into the air.

"What the?! An aero magic?!"He exclaimed then saw the blonde guy was using his magic wand on him. "Hey, put me down!"

Guiche however ignored his demand and turned to Louise. "You really owe me this time, Louise. Try to control your familiar better."

Meanwhile, Kirche was laughing at how Louise the Zero's familiar tried to running away. "Hahaha- I can't believe it! A familiar is running away from his master. Hahaha-"

(Elsewhere)

Unbeknownst to them on the top of the roof, shrouded by the darkness of the night and shadow, one figure in black coat stood. The figure then reached out his hand and a keyblade appeared in his hand. He then inspected the blue slit eye attached on the head of the keyblade.

"It looks likes the fate is going the way it should be... Alright kid, show them as always what you can do." The man in black then disappeared in corridor of darkness, leaving no trace of his presence.

Destiny, can be both kind and unfair.

Fate, can be both loving and unforgiving.

But no matter what trials await us, as long as we listen to guidance of our hearts.

We can over come any obstacle that come out way.
