Vegeta & Goku have never truly celebrated Halloween; it was never that big of a deal. Planet Vegeta never had such holidays as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter, or any of that.
Goku only ever knew of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's thanks to his adoptive father, Gohan. However, he was never taught about Halloween because he didn't believe in scaring others for the fun of it—or too much candy—especially for Goku.
But now that they both have young grandchildren—& finally get to come home after years, they've discovered Halloween. How will they handle this new holiday—to them?

"Do you think Bulma and Chi-Chi will have made us a feast for coming home?" Goku asked Vegeta with his big goofy smile.
"I don't know. I'm just glad to finally be home. Except for the monthly visits with Bulma, I haven't seen any of my family in three years. And I haven't seen Bulma in a year because it became unsafe for her. I have a granddaughter I only met once before we left. And then I have another granddaughter I've never met." Vegeta replied, annoyed.
"I know. I haven't seen my family either—except for Chi-Chi just like you. And my youngest granddaughter I've only seen twice. I was just asking if you think they'd have a feast ready." Goku replied.
"I know. I just want to be with my family. We should've never gone to that planet in the first place. If I knew we were going to be stuck there for more than a year and a half, I would've never agreed to go in the first damn place. We should've never been there in the first damn place; their issues didn't involve us. The only good thing about going was the training and getting learn new techniques. And—what the hell?! Bulma!" Vegeta replied before grumbling. It wasn't until he noticed a skeleton, unidentifiable decaying corpses, and some unmarked headstones in the yard that he started panicking.
It was unclear if either of them saw the lights all over the house. The only things Vegeta and Goku were worried about were their families.
"Bulma!" Vegeta yelled again, bursting through the door.
"Are the children safe?" Goku questioned, following Vegeta.
"Vegeta, Goku; you're home!" Bulma and Chi-Chi cheerfully greeted their husbands before going to hugging them.
"Where are the kids? Are they ok?" Vegeta and Goku questioned right away, ignoring their wives' hugs.
"They're fine. Gohan, Videl, Pan, Bulla, and Leriac aren't here yet. Trunks, Goten, Nashi, and the kids are in the basement apartment, hanging out. What's wrong?" Bulma answered before questioning, looking at Chi-Chi.
"What happened here? Who are the corpses and skeleton outside?" Goku seriously asked.
"Corpses and skeleton? Oh. Oh! No, they're nobody." Bulma replied, understanding what they were talking about now.
"Who was killed then?" Vegeta demanded.
"Nobody. The decomposing bodies, skeleton, and headstones aren't real; they're decorations. As are the Halloween lights and every other decorations hooked up all around the house." Chi-Chi answered, dumbfounded.
"Halloween decorations?" Vegeta and Goku questioned, confused, before noticing everything around them.
"What the hell is Halloween?" Goku questioned, shocking the girls; he's never said something like that before.
"Well? What is it?" Vegeta questioned, waiting for an answer.
"Well, you'd know if you were ever here for it. Halloween, or "All Hallows' Eve," is a holiday that happens every October thirty-first. Supposedly, it's the day where the dead come back to life and once again roam the earth for an entire day. But I don't know about that. But to most—especially children, it's about candy, decorations, and scaring the crap out of each other. It's a holiday just like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. And now that you're home, I can say: if you ever miss a Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter again, there will be hell to pay." Bulma calmly explained before threatening Vegeta.
"Candy sounds good. But why do you have to scare each other?" Goku questioned.
"It's part of Halloween and is in all fun." Chi-Chi answered.
"But why?" Goku questioned again.
"Because they said so—and it sounds like fun. So, shut up already. What does candy have to do with anything?" Vegeta firmly told Goku, ready to smack him over the head before asking.
"Well, children dress up in a variety of costumes, go out with a parent to go trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating is where dressed-up children go from house to house, knocking on the doors, and get candy from whoever lives there. I used to take Trunks and Bulma all the time. And before I even thought about letting them have any of their goodies, I'd make sure they were safe—as in not poisoned, filled with drugs, needles, or razors. We've gotten lucky so far, but there are other families in other cities, towns, countries, or communities who haven't been so lucky. Trunks does the same thing now." Bulma explained.
"I used to take Gohan and Goten as well. Gohan and Videl would take Pan when she was younger; she doesn't so much care for it now. And Goten and Nashi have been taking Goki. This will be Chihiro's first year. And just like Bulma, I have their stuff checked before allowing them to have anything. Bulma is nice enough to check it for us." Chi-Chi added.
"I thought I heard we heard correctly. Come on: Grandpa and Uncle Goku are home." Trunks interrupted the conversation before calling downstairs, heading back down to get his youngest children.
"Wait. What did you mean by basement apartment? And Who is Leriac?" Vegeta demanded, realizing he had spaced those conversations. At the time, "Halloween" was more important.
"Well, Trunks's girlfriend was killed a little over half a year ago, and he had a hard time with that. Then he started struggling with just about everything except making sure his kids were fed, cleaned, clothed, and sleeping at night. I had had the basement turned into a small apartment shortly after you left for whatever reason—I suppose I needed a project or something. But anyway, I offered Trunks to move in with his children for as long as they needed. And Leriac is Bulla boyfriend of two years now. They're out on a double date right now." Bulma answered.
"With Pan and Mushu." Chi-Chi added with a smile.
"Who's Mushu?" Goku asked, scratching his head.
"Pan's boyfriend. And yes, Gohan and Videl approve of him. And yes, he's a decent kid." Chi-Chi.
"Now, Mai's not the girls' mother, is she?" Vegeta questioned, watching Bulma.
"No." "Grandpa!" Two boys yelled, running to either Vegeta or Goku.
"Hey. Look at you; you've gotten taller." Vegeta spoke to a boy with short spiky dark violet hair and black eyes.
"Thank you, Grandpa. Pretty soon, I'll be taller than you." The boy replied with a smile.
"You're almost funny. Which one are you again?" Vegeta replied before questioning.
"That's Knickers, Mr. Vegeta." The other boy pointed out.
The other boy looked just like Goku and Goten when they were that age.
"How is my partner in crime?" Goku asked with a mischievous smile.
"Good." The boy answered with a smile.
"Goki set off a small stink bomb in the principal's office at school last month. He was suspended for a week." Chi-Chi firmly explained.
"Awesome. I mean—that was wrong, very wrong." Goku replied before "scolding" Goki.
"It's ok. That's Grandpa. And the one holding Goki is Uncle Goku." Trunks told a younger boy, who was identical to Bulma with blue hair and blue eyes.
"Hi, Teddy." Vegeta calmly greeted. Teddy was only two when they last saw each other; he didn't think he'd remember him.
"Grandpa!" Teddy cried, running into Vegeta's arms.
"How old are you now?" Vegeta asked, lifting Teddy over his head.
"Five." Teddy answered.
"Really? Five?" Vegeta questioned, stunned.
"Yep." Bulma replied.
"Hey, Dad." Goten greeted, walking over with Nashi and their daughter.
"Hey! Look at you." Goku excitedly greeted.
"That's my little sister, Chihiro. And Mommy's got another baby in her tummy. It had better be a boy." Goki told Goku with a smile, causing the adults, except Vegeta, to laugh.
Nashi had straight, waist-length dark brown hair and brown eyes. Chihiro had wavy black hair just a little past her shoulders and brown eyes.
"It's good to see you again. Chihiro, you were only a little baby when you saw Grandpa last: this is him." Nashi greeted Goku before telling Chihiro.
"Hi." Chihiro greeted with a smile.
"She really did get big." Goku spoke, taking Chihiro from Nashi when she reached for him.
"I am tree now, Grampa." Chihiro proudly stated.
"She's taken to him rather quickly." Chi-Chi noted, watching Goku holding Goki and Chihiro.
"She's certainly not shy." Goten stated.
"So, when do we go trick-or-treating?" Goku questioned, getting the boys' and Chihiro's attention.
"Yeah, Mommy—when?" Chihiro excitedly asked.
"On Halloween when it's time. Besides, you have enough sweets as is." Nashi told Chihiro. At the same time, she was narrowing her eyes at Goki when it looked like he was going to say something.
"What about us?" Teddy questioned, watching Trunks.
"The same night as Uncle Goten, Aunt Nashi, Goki, and Chihiro." Trunks answered, walking over to Vegeta.
"Girls, this is Grandpa; he's Grandma's husband—my dad." Trunks told his daughters, who were hiding their faces in his shoulders.
"They don't seem as excited like the others do." Goku noted, watching Trunks's daughters.
"No. Don't say it." Nashi quickly told Goki and Chihiro when it looked like they were going to say something.
"Maybe we should go back to my home or your home and decorate some more. And if you're really good; I'll let you help me frost and decorate cookies." Chi-Chi suggested, watching everyone.
"Yes, of course." Goku agreed, not knowing what was going on. But he didn't dare argue with Chi-Chi, just seeing the look in her eyes.
"We'll see you later. Are we still taking them to that zoo for that Halloween event?" Chi-Chi told Bulma, Vegeta, Trunks, and his children.
"Yes. But that's still two weeks away." Bulma answered.
"Ok. Thank you. It was good to see you again, Vegeta. We'll see you all later." Chi-Chi replied before heading to the front door.
"See you later." Everyone else replied as the Son family left the Briefs home.
"Do you want me to take one of them?" Bulma asked Trunks, watching him hold his girls.
"No, I got them. I'm actually going to have Knickers and Teddy take them into the living room to watch TV, so I can explain to Dad what's going on. So, Boys." Trunks replied before calling Knickers and Teddy.
"Chaya, you go with Teddy. Knickers, you take Paisley." Trunks instructed, setting the girls down.
As they were told, Teddy took Chaya to the living room while Knickers took Paisley.
Chaya had wavy dark purple hair reaching her upper back and dark blue eyes.
Paisley had wavy violet hair reaching a few inches past her shoulders and black eyes.
"Daddy?" Bulla questioned, walking through the front door with a man with dark spikey blue hair and black eyes.
"We're in the kitchen. Watch out for the little children going to the living room!" Bulma called.
"Daddy!" Bulla excitedly cried, running to Vegeta.
"Hey, Baby girl—and boyfriend." Vegeta happily greeted Bulla before noticing Leriac; he hugged Bulla a little tighter.
"Daddy, this is my boyfriend, Leriac. He's a full Saiyan. And—please don't kill him, but he's also Broly's son." Bulla introduced Leriac before cautiously adding.
"Well—we won't have a problem unless you hurt my daughter." Vegeta replied, taking a deep breath, shocking Bulla, Bulma, and Trunks.
"Wow. I honestly don't know what to say. But I love and missed you, Daddy." Bulla replied, too stunned to really say anything else as she hugged Vegeta.
"Aww! You missed us!" Bulma emotionally cooed.
"Of course, I missed you all; you're my family." Vegeta gruffly replied, looking away.
"Well, I should get home before Mom sends Dad out—again. It was nice to kind of meet you, Sir." Leriac told Bulla, rolling his eyes a little. He then politely spoke directly to Vegeta.
"Yeah, you too." Vegeta replied.
"See you next Saturday?" Bulla questioned, walking Leriac to the door.
"That's the plan. Hopefully, I can see you before—if I can get Mom off my case. See you later, Love." Leriac replied before gently kissing her. And then he was gone.
"So, what's the plan?" Bulla questioned, watching Bulma, Vegeta, and Trunks. I'm about to explain the girls and their mother to Dad." Trunks replied.
"Oh. Oh! Do you want me to get them out the house for half an hour or so?" Bulla questioned after realizing this wasn't going to be pretty.
"If you want. But no more than forty-five minutes. No candy, but you can get them a medium-sized cup of ice cream or soft serve." Trunks replied, handing Bulla twenty dollars.
"Thanks. Hey, where are my favorite nephews and nieces?" Bulla asked, walking over to the children.
Ten Minutes Later:
"She did not want to leave. Which one was that?" Vegeta noted before questioning.
"Paisley. Paisley is younger than Chaya by only fifteen months. They're both healthy and most of the time, they're happy. However, nine months ago, when we were living on our own, we were renting a three bedroom apartment. The boys shared a room while the girls shared the other room. And then their mother, Collie, and I shared our room. One day, while I was helping Mom at work, someone broke into the house, and ended up murdering Collie. Teddy and the girls were with Collie. From what I understand, Teddy was taking a bath while Collie played with the girls. All children were unharmed physically; whoever broke in, only went after Collie. I think it was a half day of school or something, because Knickers got all three small children and brought to Capsule Corp. Or that was the plan; they ended lost and ran into Tien and Chiaotzu. They ended up bringing the kids to me and Knickers said what he found. Krillin came over and looked at the girls while other officers looked at the house. As it would turn out, with all the blood splatter on the girls and their clothes—they witnessed it. They witnessed their mother's murder and are beyond traumatized. They'll talk to me, Knickers, and Teddy when it's just the five of us, but at the moment, they're not talking to anyone else." Trunks explained, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Not even your mother or sister?" Vegeta questioned.
"No." Bulma sadly answered.
"But Chaya does interact with Mom; she likes to bake with her. Paisley… I think Paisley is afraid to get close to any of us in fear that someone will kill us as well. It's one of the reasons we moved back home after Mom offered. Well, actually it's the main reason: they all feel safest here. That's actually the main reason. Mom offered us upstairs, but being downstairs, they all have their own rooms—except Chaya and Paisley; they still share until they decide they don't want to anymore." Trunks answered.
"What happened to the person who killed their mother?" Vegeta questioned.
"Don't know. All I know is his name is Koji something or other. But if I ever meet him, I'll kill him myself. It wasn't bad enough that he killed Cora in front of our daughters, he had to kiss each of them on the cheek. That's how we know who he is. But he has since been able to evade the police, me, Tien, Chiaotzu, Krillin, 18, and Yamcha. Piccolo and 17 were with you, so we couldn't ask them. But it's been too long now to ask for help; any trace of him is gone by now." Trunks answered, pissed off.
"Are you doing that trick-or-treating thing?" Vegeta questioned.
"Knickers and Teddy want to go for sure. Chaya and Paisley go back and forth between wanting to go and not. I took the boys last year while Cora and Mom stayed home with the girls. But the girls saw all the candy and decided they wanted to go. But then all that shit happened. God, I loved Cora; she accepted Knickers and Teddy when others wouldn't. Just as interesting as trick-or-treating is going to be in three weeks, Halloween at the Zoo in two weeks is going to be just as interesting." Trunks answered, sighing.
"Well, why don't we all go to these things together as a family. Ain't nobody going to get near my family." Vegeta suggested, getting blank stares from Trunks and Bulma.
"You really did miss us. We love you so much!" Bulma happily exclaimed, hugging her husband.
"Yeah, I did." Vegeta replied, not bothering to try to push Bulma away…
