The Dragon Prince

~(Prologue)~

The sun was shining in its full glory and the sky was clear like the calm sea as the clouds were like pure white puffs of freshly spun cotton candy, however underneath the shining sun, two figures were walking.

A little girl, no older than five, maybe six years old, was wearing a blue dress that only reached down her ankles held together by a brown belt with a golden buckle and a red scarf that has a symbol of a thunderstorm and her mother's armour motifs.

Meanwhile the older woman was seen wearing royal robes with red, gold, light grey and maroon accents.

"Mom, do you ever miss dad?"

The young child asked.

"I do, but I'm sure your father would want us to move on and not grieve for him."

The mother replied as her daughter looked up at her mother and smiled sadly at the sun, unaware that her mother was looking at the sky mournfully, remembering her late first husband who just happened to be the King of the Skywing Elves.

~(Flashback – Six years ago)~

"Aghrá."

Said an male winged Skywing Elf with light grey skin tone, and waist-length hair with hues of grey and electric blue, and on top of his head has a silver circlet shaped like a halo with a Blue Aragonite crystal at the centre, he wore a streamlined backless tight top with leggings that was a reminiscent of the Sky Primal and matching boots.

"How is our banphrionsa beag?"

The Skywing King, Rian, asked a much younger Sarai who wore a light-grey sleeved dress held together with a navy-blue sash and pair of blue boots on her feet, while holding a newborn babe in her arms, with a navy blanket with lightning pictures around it, and a red scarf around the newborn's blanket for extra warmth.

"She is doing well."

Sarai answered before her eyebrows furrowed in worry.

"Though Rían I am worried, even though she looks human, she is connected to the Sky just like any other Skywing Elf. Whenever she cries, the Sky cries along with her."

Sarai explained about the phenomenon to her beloved husband as his eyes lit up in surprise before they softened, smiling in reassurance.

"Then she will be a powerful mage and a great queen."

Placing his arm around his young wife and newborn daughter, Rían commented after hearing about the said feat.

"Though, have you got her name for her?"

"Yes, I have. Her name is Calla."

Rian asked curiously about his newborn's name as Sarai answered softly, returning the loving gesture as the family of three savoured this moment of tenderness and love, hoping that it will last forever…

But alas, it was not meant to be.

Later that night, tragedy had struck when Rían had perished while saving his clansmen and the people had forced the young widow to leave Xadia until Calla was old enough to take her rightful place as Queen of the Skywing Elves.

~(End of Flashback)~

It wasn't until someone walked towards the mother-daughter pair and caused Sarai to snap out of it as she brought herself back to reality.

"My Queen, the King demands for your presence."

The queen nodded as she bid a small farewell to her daughter but what the Princess of the Skywing Elves didn't realise that this would be the first and last time they'll ever see each other again, for the Katolian Queen's daughter had to become not just an older sister but a surrogate mother-figure to her younger half-brother, the Crown Prince of Katolis.
