Author's Note: Welcome to the wonderful world of Crossover, where we take all things canon and splice them up into our very own mix of fandom-goodness! I went to see Suicide Squad with a few friends and then was promptly asked (read: begged/commanded) to create a fantasyland of Twilight/Suicide Squad wonder...and said no. I just couldn't see it. Then the amazing Felicia2235 published a beautiful story, one that features Bella and a move to Gotham City. I've fallen completely in reader-love with it! (So go read it...like, now!) All of the sudden, I found myself going back and saying yes. So special thanks to Felicia for jump-starting the fandom and for a story that has given me courage to write my own! Ahem, without further ado...

Story Information:
Rating: Fiction M- for language, adult themes/situations, violence/blood/gore/dark themes, snark/sass, and...well, it's a world with The Joker, people. You know how it goes.
Pairing: Harley Quinn/The Joker/Bella Swan
Warning!: Obvious AU/OOC-ness on both ends of the crossover; Twi-scape and DC Comic-verse. Some of the movie will be used, some basic comic knowledge will be used, some novel events used...but who knows the order. Please see below for further detailed warnings!

Support and feedback is welcome and encouraged, as always! Keep story hating and flames to yourself though, wouldn't want to find yourself facing The Joker's trigger finger, would you? :)

Disclaimer: I do not own anything Twilight/Suicide Squad/DC Comics related (TV Series, Novels, Movies, Games, Comics, etc.)! I know, I'm sad about it too. It belongs to the authors, producers, creators, writers, directors, etc. I also do not own any recognizable/copyrighted/trademarked material that may be mentioned! I just like to play with the characters!

"Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes, is a little push."

Belle Reve Federal Penitentiary
Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, USA-

"-will relinquish all sharp objects, including but not limited to; pocket knives, razors, pens, pencils, rulers, hair pins, hair clips, necklaces, bracelets, paper clips, safety pins, push pins, staples, keys, key chains, glasses-"

A pair of men's dress shoes snapped sharply against the concrete pathway, a smart sound that was crisp and clean in comparison to the usual clomping of heavy guardsmen boots. The leather was a deep brown that led up to a pair of starched khaki slacks and a freshly ironed and pressed button down that was a deep navy color, with a startlingly white coat that lay atop it all, reaching back down near the man's knees. His hair was a rich blonde color and fell to his collar, while his eyes were a warm golden hue, resembling one of the many stages of leaves turning in fall. He was pale though, shockingly so, and there was a tint of bruising beneath his eyes, as if he had not slept well the night before. There was a sweet scent about him too, such a difference compared to the damp and dreary that were the walls and cells of the black hole prison, home to the nation's most diabolical and crazed.

"You will not provoke the prisoner; while due to improved…behavior...she has been housed with a fellow inmate and therefore subdued in temperament as of late, she will be restrained and secured for your safety. Despite her recent mellowness, she is still aggressive and lethal if and when engaged-"

The guard continued his speech in near monotone, pausing to swipe a high-level clearance access card through an electronic reader outside a heavy, steel reinforced doorway, before bending so that an optic scanner could register his identity in a doubly secure manner. His counterpart eyed him curiously, his tawny gaze disbelieving and near incredulous. In the pocket of his lab coat his fingers curled into a fist, the joints of said digits cracking with the frustration that plagued his mind. He simply could not reconcile the words he was hearing with the images and information stored within the depths of his superior intellect, that which he knew and that which he was being told.

"She is a twenty-one, nearly twenty-two, year old girl who has been diagnosed with Bi-Polar Disorder and occasional Manic Episodes. Proper medication and counseling make it one of the lesser complicated illnesses to treat, how lethal can she be?" His eyebrows had arched in dubious accusation, "Unless, you have not been treating her accordingly…"

His underhanded allegation was rewarded with a conceited snort of dismissal and a roll of dark brown eyes, the color of mud, and the guardsman turned to fix the young psychiatrist and practicing doctor with a blank stare. Though the expression lurking in his gaze read one thing, and one thing only.

Fuckin' fool.

"Listen Doc, you're new here, so I'm going to give you a bit of insight. That innocent little girl in there?" He questioned mockingly, pointing the stock of his issued stun gun -more like rifle- toward the room they had stopped in front of. "She put six of my men into the infirmary three months ago, one of which now remains on permanent desk duty…with a single paper clip."

The pair were broken from their stare-down seconds later, the heavy silence interrupted by the grating noise of a buzzer, signifying that both visitors had been cleared for entrance into the block of interrogation rooms. Stepping to the side, the guard waved the blonde man forward, his head tipped down and his arm swept out mockingly, as if he was leading the doctor to a fine buffet rather than a psychological evaluation regarding one of the prison's most guarded inmates on roster.

"After you."

Story Information/Warnings, Continued.

Pairing: Yes, it's a polygamous couple. And yes, it features The Joker as the leading male. I know there has been a lot of fandom policing regarding this character and the stability of his relationships, with both allies and Harley Quinn. I am more than aware that aspects of their relationship are considered abusive or frowned upon, and I in no way condone said methods or abuse of any kind. I'd like to make that completely clear. This is not me promoting any such thing. However, this IS me exploring my creativity and skills as a writer. It IS me taking characters from here and from there, then throwing them together to see if I can't construct a pleasurable and entertaining piece of fiction. And that's what it is, pure fiction. So please, keep that in mind. If you have legitimate concerns, please feel free to PM me, and I'll gladly discuss them with you. Do NOT start throwing around shipping hate/story hate/guest review rants about how awful The Joker or Harley Quinn are as characters, or how awful I am for featuring them in a story. Those will promptly be deleted and/or reported.

Canon: Yeahh, I'm going to be honest upfront and admit that I know jack-all about DC Comics and their universe. I know some basics. Like...basic, basics. And I have a tendency to Google/Wikia questions and curiosities that pop up in my mind, but I'll say right now that I do not have extensive knowledge in the background of said universe. So, if I say something or write something that contradicts so embarrassingly much (or you're just THAT hardcore of a fan) that you end up itching to tell me, you're more than welcome to PM me about it. More than likely I'll end up asking you to school me in all things Joker/Harley related! :)

Jared Leto's Joker: This is the Joker that I envision for this story. He's a beautifully manic and borderline beautiful mind genius guy, and you can't convince me otherwise. I adore this version of The Joker, and I think it's high time that us female fans are rewarded with a villain that is this delicious. I'm aware that he's basically insane, that he's aggressive and territorial, that he'll go into a murderous rage if someone simply looks at him (or something he considers his) the wrong way, or too long. And guess what? I don't care. Jared Leto did a fabulous job with his character, with reaching a depth that I hope we'll get to see in deleted scenes, and with studying that which he was going to represent. He isn't a bad person for getting so wrapped up in his character that he continued it on and off screen. And Jared, if there is some one-in-a-million-pigs-fly-and-hell-freezes-over chance that you're reading this (aside from the fact that I mightt just have a heart attack...okay, that's a bit dramatic, but fainting is still possible!), you should know you did a wonderful job. Well, of course you know. But still. Props.

Twilight Timeline: This story starts with the Prologue above, about four and nearly five years after the Cullen's departure. I have switched Bella's age to be a year younger; so instead of leaving when she turns eighteen, they leave when she turns seventeen. And, of course, she arrives to Forks, let's say in time for the start of her sophomore year. So a year after the Cullen's arrival to Forks, instead of two. This is for age purposes in the story; I'll have a lot of darker themes here, but underage citrus scenes are NOT one of them. All vampiric traits are as usual for the Twi-verse, nothing new there.

Suicide Squad Timeline: Some events from the movie will be used and time spent within Belle Reve that we don't see will be detailed. This will not be an exact retelling of the movie though. Flashback scenes mostly, and 'present time' scenes which occur after the events of the movie.

No Beta, I own my mistakes, lol. If something is driving you crazy about them, let me know!
