It has been a hard year for Lisa with Fairfield business not doing well with many ups and downs, she decided that it was time to move in with Jack. He of course didn't hesitate but they were both used to their own routines, so it was definitely an adjustment for not only both of them but the whole family. It was an adjustment being at the ranch house full time versus splitting time between Heartland and Fairfield. Jack was making Lisa breakfast when Lisa walked into the kitchen "Morning" she stopped next to him "Morning" before kissing him. She reached for a coffee mug, filling it up and refilling Jacks before sitting down. He set a plate down in front of her "Lis, is something wrong?" as he sat down. She set her fork down "It..It's nothing" before starting to eat. Jack was about to say something when the door opened and Tim walked in "Good morning, ah good you made breakfast, I'm starving" as he helped himself. Lisa glanced at Jack as he shook his head "well good morning to you too." Lisa finished and put her plate in the sink "I gotta get going, I'll see you later" before kissing Jack on her way out the door. She was soon gone, Tim looked at Jack "What's up with her?" Jack stood up, putting his plate in the sink. "Nothing, she's got a busy day." Tim shook his head "Is that all?" Jack picked up his hat "Yes, that's all, now hurry up we need to get the fence fixed.

Lisa headed to Fairfield, thinking about how quickly things change, not even six months ago would she have thought that she would have decided to move to Heartland. Fairfield had been her home for her whole life and it is today, but she needed and wanted to be around the whole family everyday. They were still adjusting in some ways, but she wouldn't change it, she didn't want to, having Jack by her side is what she needs. She arrived and went to check on a couple mares that were due soon before heading to her office. She opened her computer, clicking on her email. She saw an email from Aunt Evelyn, quickly reading it and responding. She filled her in on the latest, including that she officially moved in with Jack at Heartland. She knew her Aunt probably would have something to say, especially after her visit, she didn't exactly approve of Heartland when Fairfield was much larger, but she was happy and knew deep down Evelyn would accept her decision. The day passed fairly quickly, before leaving her office she had to make her travel arrangements to Florida for next week to go meet a client about a horse. She had reservations about going and leaving Jack, he'd been her rock the last few months. Harry stopped by her office "Lisa, do you have a minute to come look at Charlie?" She got up from her chair "sure, is something wrong?" Harry started out of the office "Naw, just want you to come take a look. Lisa walked down to the track stopping next to Harry "He's improved so much this week, thought you could use a little cheering up." causing Lisa to chuckle "Well I certainly can use a little good news." They watched his practice run, looking at the stopwatch "I think he can race in a couple weeks, if you're on board." She nodded "If he keeps running like that, absolutely!" She checked her watch "I hate to run, but I need to get moving. Keep me posted on his progress" before walking away. She closed her laptop and office before heading to Heartland.

Jack was on the porch with Lyndy when Lisa pulled in that evening, Katie was in the yard playing while Amy was working a horse in the round pen. He got up as she parked, she smiled thinking to herself he was predictable. She lost track of how many times she's parked in that exact spot on the fence that's now her spot and Jack's been sitting on the porch as she drives up. He always gets up to greet her, the simple gesture she loved him for. She got out as he came up to her holding Lyndy. He leaned down and kissed her "Hi" She reached for Lyndy "Hi, Cowboy, let me see her" They started walking to the house "How was your day?" They sat down on the bench, Lisa put Lyndy on her lap "Alright, I…I have to go to Florida next week…." she trailed off looking out over the yard. Jack reached for her hand "Lis.." bringing her attention back to him "What's wrong?" She looked down "nothing, tell me about your day" changing the subject. Jack sensed there was more to it but the kids were around and he didn't want to push her. "Tim and I got the fence fixed, then came back here. Peter had a meeting and Amy had a client coming so I said I'd watch the girls." Georgie came home as Lisa was starting to make supper. They all sat down to eat, catching up as they always did. Lisa was clearing the table, Jack walked up behind her, leaning down "The girls got this, come with me." taking her hand "Jack I can help them" but he was leading her out the door instead "You made supper, they can do cleanup." They started down the path between the ranch and dude ranch in silence before he spoke up "Lisa, what's bothering you?" She sighed before stopping "The trip next week, I need to go but the thought of leaving you…." He put his hand up her chin bringing it to look at him. He leaned down and kissed her "Lis, you know I'd rather keep you to myself but I also know that this is your business, so you need to go." He wrapped his arms around her "You've been my rock the last few months and the last couple weeks I know haven't been easy." He moved back to look down at her "Lis, I know it's an adjustment for us living together and I'm not the easiest to deal with, stuck in my ways, but this is your home, it always has been even before we were married." She smiled at him "I love you, cowboy. The dust is settling I think, the girls are getting used to me being here all the time" as they started down the path again. "I think so, you know I love having you here with me and the family." They walked in silence both thinking quietly before Lisa spoke up as they were approaching the barn "I don't suppose I could talk you into coming with me?" Jack stopped "Lisa, I can't not with both Ty and Lou out of town, I said I'd help with the girls." He could tell she was disappointed "how about we find a weekend when you're back though and we can have some quality alone time?" Lisa smiled "I would love that, I love having everyone around but I also need some us time, honey." He wrapped her in his arms "I agree, we do need some time to ourselves." She pulled back and leaned up to kiss him "I love you" he kissed her once more "I love you, Lis."

Monday morning came a little too quickly for Lisa, she was packing to leave when Jack came back into their bedroom "You ready?" She zipped her suitcase "Yeah, I need to get going" He wrapped his arms around her "I'm going to miss you this week." She had a sad smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck "I'm going to miss you too. I love you." before kissing him, more deeply than he was expecting. When they parted, he grabbed her suitcase as she picked up her purse to walk out to the car "Are you sure you don't want me to drive you?" She opened her door "I'm sure, I'll park the car and you don't have to wait on me when I get back." He closed the door after putting her suitcase in and kissed her "Be careful and call me." She smiled "I will" as she got in. He watched her drive away, knowing that it was harder on her to leave than she would admit especially to anyone other than him. She was still working hard to keep Fairfield afloat and get past the rough spot it seemed to have hit. Lisa called that evening when she got to Florida, he could sense the loneliness in her voice, so he quickly reminded her that she would be home in just a few days.

The next day Jack got the mail and there was a postcard saying there was a delivery for him and Lisa that needed to be picked up. He had to go pick up the supply order from Maggie's so he stopped by the post office. He was handed a rather large box, he looked at the sender and saw it was Aunt Evelyn. He could hardly wait to see what she sent them now, cringing thinking of all the gifts she came bearing on her last visit. He put it in the truck and headed back to Heartland.
