I wasn't planning on continuing this series but I felt emotions when I got my new cat, Audrey Cassidy. I love her as much as I did my Love. Audrey is my new baby and I wanted to write something in honor of her too. I do not own the story of Harry Potter nor the characters. I hope you enjoy this story and please review!
A year after the war and about two years after Hedwig's tragic death, Harry was going to get a new owl. He told himself that he wouldn't love the new owl as much as he loved Hedwig. How could he love another animal as much as he loved her?
Today was the day and he was going to Diagon Alley with Ginny and visit Magical Menagerie. Unbeknownst to Harry, Ron and Hemione were going to drop by Magical Menagerie and make this day the important day it was for Harry. The day was bright and sunny and it was time to get ready for the day. Harry turned over to face Ginny after putting on his glasses.
"Hey honey, how are you?"
"Hey I am good. Ready to find a new owl?"
Harry said "I am. Do you want to go first in the shower?"
Ginny tiredly said "You go first please."
"Ok, then I will make breakfast."
"Sounds good."
Harry grabbed a pair of jeans, a tee shirt with a button-up and a pair of trainers and headed towards the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, he took his glasses and brushed his teeth with the toothpaste that Hermione recommended to him. He got into the shower with burning hot water. He relaxed into the water then showered.
Then he got out of the bathroom to see Ginny just starting to get up. Harry headed down to the kitchen to cook their breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. After about ten minutes Ginny walked down the stairs.
"Hey Gin, the eggs and bacon are almost done."
She gave him a thumbs up. After that, they had their breakfast and Apparated to the pet shop. When they were going in Ron and Hermione were already there.
Harry walked up to them and asked "What are you guys doing here?"
Ron said "We are here to see you get a new owl mate. This is a huge occasion."
Harry said, "Thank you, guys."
The only reason he didn't tell them that they didn't need to is he was getting therapy and that was one of the things he was working on. Letting people do things for him and being there.
Harry spent about forty minutes looking for an owl and then finally he found her, she was brown with a white mask. Harry seemed drawn to her.
He got her and while she wasn't Hedwig he loved her just as much. It scared him a little, what if she died. For a few nights he had to awaken her when he saw her sleeping for fear that she was dead just like Hedwig, Her name was Connelly Cassidy and she was kind and beautiful. And rambunctious! She loved to fly on peoples heads with no warning
