This is one of the best stories I have written for school. It is only so good because both Mom and Dad reviewed it and helped me change the grammar and add descriptive scenes.
This is about Banquo's funeral from Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and Banquo's son. I hope you enjoy this story.
Ps. I have all my stories on Archivefourown and Wattpad. I am FangirlWriter1! on Archivefourown and FangirlWriter on Wattpad.

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were many things, but kind was never one of the words that they would ever use to describe themselves. Luckily for them, civilized society is so easy to bluff and make them adore you. They act like you are a god if you are a hero, or have clout. Macbeth was a war hero and Lady Macbeth had clout from her position of power and her marriage.
Their clout has been working in their favor, Macbeth is about to become kind and they have killed off everyone who could oppose them. For example, Banquo. Macbeth's best friend. This brings us to his funeral. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth had to attend the funeral to keep up appearances. Unfortunately for them, Banquo's son was going to be there, and he had been almost slain by Macbeth when his father was wounded fatally. So he could blow Macbeth's cover at any time. They had to bring out their Sunday Best and acting abilities.
As Lady Macbeth was washing her hair the night before the funeral she said 'My lord, keep your cool, mourn but don't let whatever guilt you have show."
While Macbeth was pouring heated water on his wife's head he said, "Beloved I can act. I mean I acted just fine with the former king's choice in his heir. I also acted like I was fine after my combat fatigue."
Lady Macbeth said, "True my beloved."
Later they passionately embraced each other with dreams of power on the horizon. The next day they got into their mourning garments and got into the carriage to get to the funeral. Macbeth was wearing black mourning garments. But the gem was Lady Macbeth, she was wearing a beautiful black satin with purple trim, befit for the royal she saw herself as. The day was mockingly coy with sunny weather in Scottland. It was as if the sky didn't care that a family was mourning a loved one that was brutally murdered. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth saw it as a sign that the Fates were letting them know that the power they desired was theirs for the taking.
Once they got to the funeral, they gracefully strode out of the carriage like the power couple that they were. The church echoed was cold and damp, it echoed despair like everyone but Lady Macbeth and Macbeth. Random crying echoed across the usually beautiful and light church.
All through the funeral. Macbeth got a lot of consolations from well-meaning people. This made him pleased that he played the game well enough that he hoodwinked so many people. Lady Macbeth was also playing her part of supporting wife perfectly, which made her satisfied. Yet there was an impediment for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, Banquo's son was giving Macbeth odious looks. Banquo's son knew he couldn't confront him yet, he had to play the long game much to his displeasure. He had to play the long game much to his displeasure. He had to play the long game because it took time to get people to fight against the great Macbeth and get a good plan to take him down.
Eventually, the guest at the funeral started to ask Macbeth questions.
"Hey, Macbeth. Why is Banquo's son glaring at you?'
"Did you and Banquo's son get in a disagreement?"
As a result Macbeth cleverly came up with a half-truth "He blames me for putting his father in danger because of his association with me. It is saddening what grief can make people believe."
As he said the lie, Macbeth was proud of himself for that one. He was sure his wife would be too.
Like the lie of a narcissist, it was trusted. And Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were in the clear. After they got into the carriage to go home they soaked in the self-satisfaction that the two of them radiated. All they needed was to get through the coronation and they would be in the clear.
