A/N: Greetings from the author,
Now some of you have looked at this genre and rolled your eyes thinking, Oh great another vampire story it's been overdone. That era is over. Well, my question to you is then why did you click on that blue title and ah...
As for vampires they have never been just a fad to me. I believe if you put in the right kind of work with depth, character growth, world building, and lovely twists and turns, you can rejuvenate any genre at any time. Vampire folklore has existed almost from the beginning of time. So you see it never really fades it simply evolves.
And as for me, that's exactly how I believe it.

Title: Hushed Whispers
Rated: T (Rating may change later)
Dedication: To my longtime friend Katie, who has been my rock and strength for so many years without even knowing. And to my dear friend Megan Slater for whom writing wouldn't have been the same without your constant enthusiasm and likeliness for this piece of work, molded from the vast lands of my imagination. But most of all, to my beloved hubby who has always encouraged me to reach high and never give up my writing talents.
And to my readers/reviewers for your comments and for just being you in your messages, really, thank you.
Onward with the story…
PROLOGUE
Some people see the world through a clouded lens. But she looked at the world with a single, focal point like that of a microscope, examining the parasites that festered beneath. They were like maggots that lived within the filth of the world. They fed off those who they could twist; the minds of the naïve who remained oblivious to the ever evolving reality. Because of this, the naïve were easily swayed under the unearthly beauty they possessed.
Aside her.
For this some people believed her to be crazy and thus, had deemed her as such. So in time she became it; embodied it. It had become a part of her identity. For this the name itself no longer phased her. In the world she faced how could it?
People she once loved were now long gone. Out of unborn sister, a mother, a dead beat father who had left some time ago- she remained the only one left. Until it left her to be processed into an orphanage.
Thus, becoming the very term Orphan itself.
Like a branding of cattle, she felt this deeply as her inevitable fate finally closed in like a chokehold. It was as if all the breath in her lungs left in one, fell swoop, as the reality surfaced.
She'd been Chosen.
Once, these creatures were only thought upon by imagination as simple dark fantasies hidden within the confines of a novel, a campy flick, or a television show targeted specifically at teenagers.
Once, she'd been a teenager. But that had, since, changed. Six years ago those old folklore or fictitious tales spun by those fascinated with the supernatural, had turned into a living reality. Since, the lives of those who had yet remained human, hadn't been the same.
Specifically, she hadn't been the same.
The name Crazy had been adopted, because those that met her were quick to realize one thing. She was a rebel, and loathed what society acclaimed as the Master Race.
But what she knew as... Vampires.
