If you're expecting a lovey-dovey romance to happen in this story, then I must rip off the band-aid and say that won't be happening.

Warnings: Hurt and Angst, Dark Themes, Emotional Manipulation, and Yandere Behavior. That last one doesn't need an explanation. Y'all know what that entails.

Chapter 1: Safety on Hold.

My first memory was awakening into this world, capturing the sight of shattered buildings everywhere, rumbling as far as the eye could see. There was nothing but ruins, the sea expanding itself to swallow it all.

All of it felt surreal, almost as if I was still inside a dream.

I looked up towards the abnormally blue hues painted on the sky, with pieces of the moon scattered across it, as if frozen in place.

I didn't know how much time had passed. The wind blew comfortably against my hair as I stood there, admiring the quietness the surrounding destruction offered me.

It ended.

The world has truly ended.

And it was beautiful.

The sounds of footsteps snapped me out of my stupor, and my eyes opened wide as a familiar figure closed in on me, twirling around a lengthy belt that was oddly… similar to that of a tail.

"Little kitty on a roof,"

That voice…

"All alone without his–oh?"

No. It can't be.

"What did the bug drag in this time?"

You have got to be kidding me.

"Chat… Noir?" I whispered, not able to believe what was going on.

I fell on my knees, ignoring how the color of white obscured my vision.

I had been relieved to learn I wasn't alone in this place... but now I sorely wish I was.

I realized right there and then… there would be no Lucky Charm to fix this mess. No Ladybug to come and save the day…

This wasn't a nightmare; it was hell.

I hollowly laughed as Chat freaking Blanc only tilted his head at my reaction.

There wasn't a way back home. What a miraculous conclusion I came upon.

"My Vulpi!" His words were like static to my ears, and I was too numb to detect he was in front of me.

"You're here." I didn't notice when he came to my face, too close for comfort.

"It's really you." Or his claws grazing my cheeks.

"You said you'd always be at my side." I didn't understand how, what were once green emerald eyes; only white-bluish eyes remained.

"No matter what." Or the dark gleam that crossed over his features as he purred at me.

"You wouldn't lie to me..." Neither the twisted edge of something… dangerous lingering at the end of his tone.

No. I overlooked all of that, too busy wondering what was worse, getting stuck in a desolate France with the very akumatized being that caused this world's demise-

"Right, Lila?"

A/N

I regret nothing. :D

The word length won't be consistent. Sometimes it'll be short like this chapter, and other times it'll be far more wordy.
