Heyyo, guess who~ Another story coming at'cha. This was supposed to be a short, sub-7,000-word story but it ended up longer, so I made it into multiple chapters. This should be done before Halloween hopefully, and feel free to leave a review regardless of what it is about! BTW, Male!Frisk ahead because that's what I headcanon Frisk as. If you don't like or are bothered by that, don't read and please do not leave rude comments about it. Hope you enjoy!

Tricky and Treatless

Scarily Lazy Start!

"Easy does it now…" says a short, stocky skeleton wearing a partially zipped up blue hoodie with a white shirt underneath, black shorts with a vertical blue stripe on either side, pink fluffy slippers on his feet, black sockets and tiny white pupils for eyes, and a wide, goofy smile on his face as he holds a human up over his head with both of his hands on their shoes to support them as they stand on his shoulders. The human is about 8 inches taller than him but needed his help in order to put the finishing touches on decorating his and his brother's house in Snowdin Town at the last second as today is Halloween. They wear a blue sweater with two horizontal pink stripes along the center, blue denim jeans with a couple of rips near the knees, and brown shoes whose laces are a little too long and floppy. The human, reaching out with their left hand with a thumbtack held in between their pointer finger and thumb, jabs it into the wall near the ceiling and gently hangs a decorative banner from it. They look down at the skeleton's face with a smile and a thumbs up in tow, and hop off of him, letting him breathe a sigh of relief not needing to have them on his shoulders anymore. "Phew… Kiddo, you gotta stop growing or else I'll never be able to carry you like that in the future!"

This elicits a response from them in the form of a few giggles though ultimately, it's not their choice to keep growing, it just so happens that's what humans do as they get older. "Okay sans, I'll try to stop growing." they say with a smile despite the fact they can't control how and when they grow. It just so happens this human is Frisk, the 8th fallen human in the Underground who managed to convince Asgore, the king of all monsters, to let them stay and live with everyone like a great big family. Ever since he's fallen and become part of this family, he's taught many monsters about all the wonderful different things humanity had on the surface, such as the holiday that they're all about to celebrate soon. Unlike Halloween on the surface, monsters having magic meant that they could set up a whole bunch of amazing tricks to play on each other; a vastly different experience to what he was used to back at home that was, in many ways, way better than any party he could've gone to up there. Last year, the first Halloween that the Underground celebrated, almost everyone was out trying to get free candy from each other on every corner possible. This year it's going to be chaotic, for many monsters have decided to trick rather than treat in this round, including some of his closest friends like Sans and his brother, Papyrus.

"Sans, Human, have you two finished putting up the decorations!? The great Papyrus cannot trick others without his mighty abode looking the part and we don't have much time before they all come here!" He yells from the kitchen, sounding valiant, excited, and proud.

"Come look, Paps. We've gotten it all set up now."

From the kitchen, the sound of a metal pan being placed down on top of a stove is heard before somewhat loud footsteps start approaching and soon enough, Papyrus, wearing his battle body armor, a red cape around his neck, red gloves on his hands, and red boots on his feet, enters to see what the two have done and to his utter disappointing shock and surprise, the banner that Frisk had put up moments ago is the only decoration that the duo had managed to set up. "WHAT!? YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT YOUR LAZY…" he almost swears and stops himself as his tall looking head turns towards the human who gently sways forwards and back with his hands held behind his back and a big, slightly guilt ridden, nervous smile on his face that tells him all he needs to know. He almost blows a fuse and turns to his brother. "Sans." he addresses him in an angry tone.

His little white pupils look up at him. "Yes bro?"

"Why aren't all the decorations put up?" he points at the large pile of decorations lying on the couch nearby.

"Uhh…" he quickly uses his blue magic to make a pumpkin decoration float up and fly into his hands. "My dear Pumpkin, we thought you might wanna… Spice up this place instead! You know we could end up making this place look Gourdy if you leave it to us." He doesn't get a reaction from him whatsoever, but Frisk puts his hands up to his mouth and snorts in a poor attempt to not laugh at the pun. He quickly tosses the decoration aside and makes another one, a witch, fly into his hands. "Uhh… ahaha, Witch you look at that! I think maybe you should do the decorations instead, after all, you have the craft for this sort of thing, and we don't. So, maybe with a Spell of good luck, you'll get it all ready before it's all too late!" He looks up at him and somehow, despite the living room of their house having adequate lighting that'd make this impossible to occur, his brother's face is completely darkened and looks ferocious. He tosses the decoration aside and picks one up for the last time, a ghost, that fies into his hands. "Anyway… I hate to Ghost you like this, bro, but me and Frisk are going to have a Ghoul-ishly fun time with the queen in the ruins. Don't let my decision ruin your Halloween Spirits! Seeya." He tosses it aside and while his human partner in crime bursts out laughing from these puns, he grabs their arm by the sweater and they both teleport away, leaving Papyrus alone to finish what they barely started.

"SANS, YOU LAZY BONES! GET BACK HERE!" He screams but it's too late and the only one that hears him is Undyne from upstairs since she's decided to simply live with the skeleton duo ever since her house burned down to the ground a long time ago during a cooking lesson with Frisk. She literally rips the door to her bedroom off of its frame and walks to the railing on the second floor and peers over.

"NGAHHH! PAPYRUS, WHAT'S WITH ALL THE YELLING?!"

"AAARRRGGHH! IT'S JUST MY LAZY BROTHER AND FRISK. YOU KNOW HOW HE IS, ALWAYS LAZING ABOUT AND BEING A SLOUCH!"

She hops over the railing from the second floor and nearly smashes the coffee table in front of the couch, landing hard enough to make the ground below shake a tiny bit before getting somewhat close to him to talk. "So, what's that bonehead got your throat in a knot for this time?"

He sighs disgustingly. "It's the Halloween decorations! I'm too busy cooking my famous Spooky Scary Stringy Papyrus Special Creepy Spaghetti to put them up and we're almost out of time to do them! He was supposed to do them with Frisk and now they've gone off to do whatever!"

She puts both of her hands on her hips and shakes her head back and forth. "Typical sans. His influence on Frisk is going to make them both get in deep trouble one day." She shrugs her shoulders momentarily and punches her right fist into the palm of her left hand. "You know, if we work together, we can destroy this decoration thing in a flash. We don't need those nerds; we got the power of the Royal Guard's two best members here!"

He strikes a proud pose. "That's right, The Great Papyrus shall not be saddened by this slight obstacle! We'll decorate this house so well that nobody at this party will ever want to leave! I'll serve them as much of my world-famous Spaghetti as they like! NYEH HEH HEEEH!"
