Now ya'll KNEW I was going to write from Lee and Amanda's POV regarding this episode! It's my favorite episode ever!

Something's Cooking….Something Big LEE

Chapter ONE

Lee walked into the Q bureau and saw Amanda standing in the middle of the room. Her back was towards the door and she was wearing a pair of handcuffs. He was about to say something flirty to her regarding the handcuffs but saw Leatherneck standing there. He said "Hi" instead and walked over to his desk. Amanda was learning how to get out of the cuffs. He watched with pride as his partner worked her magic. He knew she could get out of them.

"Okay Mrs. King ….raise the lever tumblers"

"Raising…. lever tumblers"

"Align the gates…"

"Align… the gates.."

"And release….. the bolt."

"Release…the ..bolt". The handcuffs made a noise and Amanda turned around holding her hands up. Lee smiled at her and laughed. Amanda was getting really good at things. He was proud of how far she had come. He knew he was in love with her. He had been for a very long time. He just wasn't sure how to tell her. He thought about taking her to dinner and then maybe dancing but she would see right through him. That was the old Lee. The lone wolf that didn't really care about his dates…just showing them a good time was his agenda. He hadn't seen anyone outside of work except Amanda in months. She was the one he wanted. He knew that. He hoped that she felt the same about him. They had had so many near miss kisses he wasn't sure it was ever going to happen between them. He was determined to court her and make her realize that he was serious about them.

Leatherneck walked out of the room and left Lee standing there with Amanda. She started working on the other handcuff and asked "So, what's up?"

"Well, Billy wants to see us down in the bullpen. That is… unless... you're still tied up?" He flashed his dimples at her and she smiled. She unclicked the other handcuff from her wrist and said "Nope, I'm available."

He laughed and escorted her out of the Q bureau. His hand found its customary spot on the small of her back. Lee smiled to himself thinking that it just belonged there. His smile was noticed by Amanda as they got into the little closet elevator.

"What's got you smiling today Stetson?" Amanda's big brown eyes were sparkling in the light and a small smile crept on her face. Lee felt there was nothing more beautiful than her right there. He chuckled and whispered "Oh I don't know…could be a beautiful brunette that just happens to be my partner who agreed to go out on a date with me on Friday?"

Amanda blushed and said "Oh…well said partner is very excited about the date on Friday? Any idea on where you will be taking her?"

Lee wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her closer and whispered in her ear. He heard her gasp. "That's for me to know and you to find out….its a need to know situation. You understand?" He knew he was getting to her. She was driving him crazy. He wanted to kiss her more than anything but he knew he had to wait. It was going to be a long week. The doors to the elevator opened and Amanda turned to face him. She smiled at him and said "Well, then I guess you will just have to wait until Friday to see what I am going to wear….Need to know …of course.."

She walked out and met up with Billy. Lee shook his head and followed her. Billy started by telling them about some play the KGB were interested in.

They sat in silence on the way to the theater. Lee wasn't sure how to start the conversation. It was getting to be a bit difficult to talk to Amanda lately. All he wanted to do was kiss her. Like really kiss her. She sensed something going on with him as she usually did and laid her hand on his arm. She always did that to calm him and it always made him feel loved…and safe.

"Lee, are you okay?"

He looked over at her. Her eyes told him so much and how he never saw it before…he wasn't sure. She looked at him with all the love a person could give. He always knew that she had some sort of crush on him but she hid her true feelings just as well as he did. He patted her hand and took it in his. He pulled it to his lips and kissed the back of it. She smiled and a faint touch of pink creeped on her cheeks.

"I am fine Amanda. Are you going to be okay if I leave you at the theater? I think you can handle meeting with Martinet by yourself. You can practice your Class C interrogation….it's an easy one. Just play your cover and you should be fine."

" Oh I will be okay. I am looking forward to meeting Tony. My professor in college loved him."

Lee smiled at her. "You never told me you were such a drama buff. When did you get into theater? Was it in college?"

Amanda laughed "Yeah I guess so. I needed a few credits so I decided to take theater and theater performance. I enjoyed it. Mother and Daddy didn't understand why I chose theater. Joe didn't either. I had fun. It was something else I had fantasies about…being an actress. I guess those classes came in handy. I do pretend to be someone I am not ….more times than I can count now." She laughed again and Lee couldn't help it and laughed along with her. He loved her laugh. She was always so upbeat and happy.

He grinned at her and asked "So, you really aren't gonna tell me what you are planning on wearing on our date on Friday?" He winked at her and flashed his best Stetson smile.

She rolled her eyes at him "Lee, you will just have to wait and see."

"I know I know….its a need to know and I guess it's above my clearance, huh? Even though I am the senior agent in this partnership?"

Amanda nodded. "Exactly. Just think of the surprise you will have on Friday. You can wait a few more days." She glanced over at him and the color rose in her cheeks again. He loved making her blush. He parked the car and reached over and took both of her hands. He took a deep breath and smiled at her.

"Well, I think that no matter what you wear I know that you will be beautiful. I hope we can get this case finished fast….. because I am looking forward to our date!"

She smiled at him and nodded. She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "I am looking forward to it as well. More than I can tell you."

She jumped out of the car and left Lee sitting there with his mouth open. Just when he thought he knew her she would show another side and it would stump him. He was definitely going to enjoy getting to know Amanda King better.
