Chapter 1: The Day Before
It was a mid-fall day in the town known as Amity Park, the weather was cool, the trees were turning from green to more brownish-reddish colors as the seasons began to change.
It was also very close to a specific day, and not just any day either.
It was October 30th, the day before Halloween.
The entire town was decorated with monsters, skeletons cobwebs, fake blood and a bunch of other spooky stuff...well, "pretend" spooky given that this is the most haunted town on Earth.
Anyway, it was the day before Halloween and everyone was getting ready for the chance to dress up, go trick or treating, watch horror films or if they were feeling mischievous, pull some Halloween pranks.
However, during lunch time at Casper High, a certain couple wasn't thinking of any of that.
It was Danny Fenton, whom was with his girlfriend, Star Strong.
Instead of taking part of the festivities, they were in the middle of a certain time honored tradition that is common for teenagers.
Making out under the bleachers during lunch time.
"Mmmm~..."The couple went, clearly in bliss.
They pulled away for a moment and sent each others infatuated smiles.
"Now this is how we should spend each lunch break..."Danny said.
Star giggled.
"You took the words right out of my mouth, Danny-boo..."She said.
"Speaking of mouths, ready for round two?..."He asked playfully.
"Duh..."Star said before they went back to kissing.
However, their fun was cut short when an annoying voice called for them.
"Danny? Mon amore?!..."Colette's voice was heard as she passed the football field.
Part of the reason the couple was hiding here was to get away from her, but she is as stubborn as ever as she kept looking for her "darling".
"Darling, please?! I just ordered a five star catered lunch! At least try some of it with me!..."Colette yelled as she kept looking for him.
"I'd rather starve..."Danny muttered, but was quiet until he was sure that she left the area.
"She's getting more desperate by the day..."Star said in annoyance.
"You got that right. I can't wait for the day when she finally gets it through her thick skull that I'm never gonna like her..."Danny said.
"Don't hold your breath, Boo. I have a feeling that hypothetically, we get married, have kids and later grand-kids and she STILL won't give up..."Star said, looking irritated.
Danny shuddered at the mere thought of Colette still being obsessed with him.
"Now that's a scary thought. Scarier than all the decorations Lancer's putting up to compete with Tesslaff's class, that's for sure..."He muttered.
"Let's not think about her. Let's go back to what we were doing..."Star said, wrapping her arms around him.
"Yes, ma'am..."Danny said happily, before they went back to doing their favorite activity as a couple.
Making out.
10 minutes later
Danny and Star spent the next ten minutes making out, before deciding to take a break and snuggle underneath their favorite tree.
Colette had already gone inside the school to search for Danny and Dash was busy trying to hit on her again, so that means two pests won't bother them now.
"Isn't this nice?..."Star said, smiling.
"Yeah, it is..."Danny said, smiling.
"I see that you two came up for air..."Was heard.
They saw that it was Sam and Tucker, who had walked by.
"Hey guys, anything happen?..."Danny asked.
"Nothing much, expect Dash is in a bad mood due to his latest rejection from Colette. Just wanted to give you a heads up..."Tucker said.
"When is he NOT in a bad mood?..."Danny asked in an eye-roll.
"Don't worry, Lancer and the other teachers know that they have to keep an eye on him and his friends, unless they wanna hear from my dad about a lawsuit..."Star said, since her threat is still in place.
"Oh, yeah. You were the one who made them stop turning a blind eye..."Tucker said, since it's been a long time since that was brought up.
"I am the daughter of one of the top lawyers in the state, I don't kid around..."Star said in a serious tone.
"Too bad you can't get him to do something about Paulina and her little clones..."Sam said, since the spoiled brat was acting even more insufferable than lately.
"Unfortunately, being annoying isn't enough grounds for a lawsuit...even if I wish it would be..."Star said, frowning.
"Forget about her. Let's just enjoy a rare, ghost-free lunch while we can..."Danny said, enjoying the rare moment of peace with his friends and girlfriend.
Before anything else could happen, someone tried to call their attention.
"Hey, Danny...Star..."Was heard.
The teens turned around and saw that it was Michelle Lynne Clarke, the unofficially queen of the seniors of Casper High, as well as on of the school's top beauties. She was on par with Star, Paulina, Colette and Valerie.
"Hey Michelle..."Star said, since they had been acquaintances, even after she quit the A-listers.
"Hey there, I just wanted the RSVP, if you guys are coming to my Halloween party tomorrow night..."Michelle said. "I wanted to know why I didn't get an answer from either of you yet..."She said.
"Uh, part of the reason I didn't answer yet is...well, I wasn't sure if this was like the joke invites that Paulina and Dash sometimes do..."Danny said and Michelle frowned.
"Oh please, as if I'd waste my time with something that petty and stupid..."The senior girl said, kinda offended to even be compared to them.
The thing is, while the A-listers usually considered of jocks, rich kids and other "popular" students, most of the senior students were top of the school hierarchy and Michelle was one of the most popular seniors at school, giving her a very high status among her peers.
Unlike Dash, Paulina and Colette, she doesn't seem to flaunt her popularity and status, and was actually pretty friendly to the others students, whether they are underclassmen or not. She also had a reputation of throwing some of the best parties at school and being a total party animal.
"Anyway, my party is gonna be on halloween night, from dusk till dawn. It's gonna be a costume party too and it's gonna have food, music and dancing too. So, do you think that you'll come?..."Michelle asked, before noting Sam and Tucker.
"Just to let you know, it's an open invite. Everyone is invited..."She said.
"Wait, for real?..."Tucker asked, surprised.
Even Sam seemed surprised too.
"Yeah, last year, I only invited seniors and juniors. This year...well, I decided to diversify..."Michelle said. "Plus, ex-A-listers or not, Star is still pretty cool in my book, and she's with you guys, so you can come..."She said.
"Uh...okay?..."Sam said, not sure how to feel about that.
"So, can I expect you guys there?..."Michelle asked.
Star turned to Danny, he smiled and nodded, happy to go since this seems to be legit.
"Sure, we'll be there..."Star said and Michelle smiled.
"Awesome. See you guys there...and remember, it's a costume party and we're gonna have a little contest at the end of it to see who has the best costume. Anyway, see ya..."Michelle said, before waving goodbye.
"Did we seriously just get invited to a party being hosted by the hottest senior at Casper high?..."Tucker asked, thinking he's dreaming.
"Looks like it, I'm still not sure that I wanna go to some silly party, dressed up in a cheesy costume and dance to some new age pop garbage trying to pretend to be edgy..."Sam said, having been planning on seeing her favorite horror films in a movie marathon.
"Come on, Sam. We never go to these kinds of parties..."Danny said.
"And everyone is gonna be there. We already are unpopular, but if we don't go there by choice, we're basically admitting that we're being reclusive! I don't wanna be that!..."Tucker said, really wanting to go.
"And...no offense, but it wouldn't hurt to socialize with more people outside our little circle. Plus, it's a party. I've been to Michelle's parties before and they are always fun. And unlike Paulina and Dash, she actually seems like a real human being..."Star said, making it clear that she wants to go too.
Sam frowned, but sighed.
"Alright, geez! I'll go. But I'm leaving if I get bored or if trouble happens..."The goth girl said, being stubborn.
"Fair enough..."Star said before wrapping her arms around Danny.
"Now, I do believe that Danny and I have to decide on what couple's costume to wear for the party together..."She said.
"Yeah..."Danny said, before he paused and registered what she said. "Wait, what?..."He asked.
"Duh. Couple's wear matching costumes or theme costumes all the time for Halloween. I wanna do that with you..."Star said, thinking it be a fun thing for them to do.
"Matching...costumes?..."Danny said while his friends snickered.
"Well, enjoy dressing up. I'm sure you guys are gonna have loads of fun like that..."Sam said, while Tucker still snickered.
Danny frowned.
He still wasn't sure about matching costumes but the look on Star's face got to him and he sighed, knowing that he can't say no when she's so excited about this.
"I just hope the costumes won't be too cheesy..."He thought as he left with his girlfriend, just hoping that this party and the costumes they will wear, won't turn into a problem.
The couple, realizing that class would start soon, realized that they been getting inside and quick, unless they want to risk tardies and detention with Lancer again.
Meanwhile
Colette had just heard from Paulina that their will be a Halloween party tomorrow night at Michelle's party, and the fake red head scoffed as she walked away.
She had been searching for Danny to try and get him to have lunch with her, but he practically vanished with Estelle, ruining her chances. Now, just as she was forced to stop her attempts in order to get ready for class, her so-called "friend" pretty much demands that all the A-lister are to attend this party, just because it was being hosted by some silly senior student named Millicent or whatever her name is. She didn't care enough to bother remembering her name.
Colette was barely paying attention, having no desire to go or even listen to this nonsense.
"Ridiculous! As if I'd go to some boring party in a silly costume. A Bevier is above such nonsense. Plus, I have better things to do...like find ways to win my darling's heart or work on my new shrine..."Colette thought, walking with her nose held high in the air.
However, she stopped when she heard some familiars voices. One whom she loves and the other whom she despises.
They were Danny and Star respectively.
The spoiled red head gasped and quickly hid in the next hall as she began to eavesdrop on them.
"Why don't we go as a prince and a princess together to Michelle's party?..."Star asked, clearly excited about something.
"You expect me to wear tights?!..."Danny asked in an incredulous voice.
Star thought about it and smiled.
"Maybe..."She said playfully.
"Passe..."Danny said in a flat tone and his girlfriend frowned.
"Oh, fine. How about a cowboy and a cowgirl? That could be cute..."Star said.
"I dunno...seems too common..."Danny commented. "Maybe we can use that as a backup if we can't think of anything better..."He said.
"Fine..."Star said with a sigh.
They kept talking about potential couple's costume that they could wear together...unaware that Colette had been eavesdropping and heard everything.
"Oh, so Mon Amore and Estelle shall be attending zis party...hmmm...perhaps zis party won't be so boring after all..."The fake red head mused, smirking as ideas formed in her twisted mind.
Soon, the bell rang and classes continued. Danny and Star stayed close to each other the entire time, unaware of Colette's plans and still not knowing what their costumes will be.
Oh boy.
