Camelot had weird traditions: ritual dances with handkerchiefs, coating poles with pig-fat and climbing up, no-rule melees, magical vision quests—from a magic-hating king.

When Arthur mentioned honeymoons, Merlin figured just another weird custom, not the marriage/vacation thing. Arthur couldn't mean he wanted to marry Merlin, could he?

Gwaine was so helpful. Told Merlin to slick his arse with honey and moon the moon. In front of Arthur's window. A Camelot tradition, he said.

So Merlin did.

Afterwards, Arthur yelled at Gwaine a lot. Then yanked Merlin home. Licked all the honey off. With his tongue.

Merlin loved Camelot traditions.
