Andy's POV.
The sun began to appear on the horizon as its rays of light began to illuminate every inch of the city of Zootopia. The same rays passed through the clouds, creating beautiful orange and purple colors in them, and the sky with a beautiful blue color, a sunny and cool day.
The noise of the city began to get a little louder as the animals began to start the day in their respective jobs and activities, the cars' movement and transportation was something of every day, taking animals from one place to another around the big metropolis.
Animals can be seen walking the streets, many children were accompanied to their schools, parents walking with their young children and babies; teens walking to their junior or high schools meeting all their friends to catch up, joke around, or share their experiences; college students preparing for another day of suffering, and finally, workers opening businesses or attending their workspaces and ready to serve.
Life in the great Zootopia was somewhat complex and complicated at first, but once you get into it as time goes by, you can get through those tough times and do your best, even if the animals want to discourage you or persuade you to quit your dreams. Yes, it's something you get used to in this city.
And well, for me, my sweet dreams were interrupted by nothing more and nothing less than my phone's alarm. The vibration was even louder than the alarm itself, sometimes I managed to wake up suddenly due to a tremendous fright that it gave me, I must change the configuration at any cost. I drag my paw over to my phone to deactivate the alarm and check the time, 9 in the morning. I have to be in the agency in an hour and a half, enough time to get up, stretch, take a bath, fix myself, make my bed, have breakfast, and get there. It's my everyday routine, well, Monday through Friday, I'm lucky to be off both days of the weekend so I can live a good social life, well, if I had one.
The truth is, despite considering myself an animal that gets along well with everyone or most, I consider myself homier and somewhat distant from social events, although it doesn't mean that I don't like hanging out with friends, it must be always the right place and right time for me.
Anyway. Let me introduce myself. My name is Andy Foxtrot, I am 25 years old, I am a golden fox, meaning a yellowish tone all over my body, cream color as my second fur and tip of my tail, black fur in my paws, half of my arms, legs and the tip of my ears, little tuft of hair on my head, average height, slender and brown eyes. Graduated from the Plastic Arts University of Zootopia, I currently work in an advertising and marketing agency as a graphic designer and digital strategy consultant, although I am more specialized in the creative field of the agency, since it is the part that I love the most. and what I do best. And my last name could not be more correct and fitting for me, because I also love dancing. Since I was a teenager I discovered this passion for dancing, and currently, I am in a dance club that I go to three times a week, the main reason for my good physique and good condition for sport. And lastly, I'm single.
As for a little more about my personal life, at the moment I live on my own in my apartment which I managed to get a few years later after graduating. It was a painful thing to depart from my mother, we are like life partners, very close, so it was a bit difficult to make this decision, but I felt that it was time to start my independent life, and the first step for me was to find a decent apartment that I could pay with my job salary. And lucky me, I found a very good one a few kilometers from my mother's house, so I could visit her from time to time. I also have my dad and my older sister. My parents made the decision a few years ago to get divorced but kept a good and cordial relationship, I still have a good relationship with my dad, we talk and go out once in a while somewhere to eat, go for a walk or watch a movie. My sister is two and a half years older than me, and both she and her boyfriend graduated as lawyers from Zootopia's Autonomous University. She was always a girl thirsty for freedom, with a sometimes cloudy and rebellious personality, but as she grew up, she matured little by little, although she still has problems with parental control, that's why she searched heaven, sea, and land for the way of becoming independent and going to live in another house with her mate, a tall gray wolf and somewhat obese, but nice and friendly. My sister and I during our childhood and adolescence had several times… conflicts, sibling fights, and those things, with my mother even worse, but now as adults, we get along and love each other in our own way.
- "Alexa, play Zootopify."
"Here you have Zootopify." The device answered. Levitating by Deer Lipa begins to play. Uf, I love that song.
"Always to start my day the right way, I put on music to raise my spirits and energy to give my best. I go to the bathroom to take a shower, brush my teeth and comb my fur, then I choose the clothes I will wear; slim fit navy blue trousers, a simple gray T-shirt and a light brown jacket on top, then I make my bed and gather all my things to put them in my backpack; I put in my tablet, my camera, and some notebooks, all of this before leaving the room and closing the door.
9:40 AM on the clock. I have to rush to breakfast so I can take the subway on time. I went into the kitchen and decided to have a whole cucumber and tomato sandwich for breakfast with a glass of orange juice, a delicious and practical breakfast. Once I finished my breakfast, I put the dishes in the sink, grabbed my apartment's keys, and headed down the hall to go to the elevator to the lobby.
I greeted the receptionist, Melanie, a middle-aged armadillo. - "Good morning, Mrs. Melanie. How's your morning going? " I asked her nicely.
- "Good morning, Andy. Very well, thank you so much. What about you?" She asked with a warm smile.
- "I'm good as well, although I was so comfortable in bed, I wish I could have stayed in it today." I answered jokingly and a little laugh.
The armadillo chuckled a bit. - "Well, I think you speak for everyone, dear, but well, we all have to work." She responded by slightly raising her shoulders.
- "Oh, I know, don't even tell me, but yes, we need to bring the meal to our tables." I rolled my eyes. - "Anyway, I'll see you later, I gotta take the subway." I replied by looking at the time on my smartwatch.
- "Have a good day, dear. Take care!" She yelled gently.
- "Thank you!" I replied waving my paw as a goodbye gesture.
I left the building and proceeded to put on my buds earphones to walk to the station and wait for the subway. Always to entertain my way to my work, I listen to music, music is a very important factor in my day to day life, it is my source of inspiration and encouragement in my activities, and listening to music on the streets of Zootopia was something magical for me... Admiring the buildings, nature, landscape, passersby, traffic, etc., it was a very pleasant sensation to set my vision with the sound of my favorite songs.
The Zootopia subway transported me several blocks downtown. As you know, Zootopia is divided into different sectors; Sahara Square for desert animals, Rainforest District for wild animals, Tundratown for arctic animals, Little Rodentia for Zootopia's mouse community, among others. The main one of all, Savanna Central, is the central axis of the city. My agency was right in that direction, I lived about five kilometers from Savanna Central, so it took me about half an hour to arrive, from the station I had to walk another mile since it didn't leave me right where I should, but the subway leaves me closer.
In the remaining journey, it remains to cross a large park to get to the other end of the block, and crossing through that park is always a lot of fun because at the time I arrive there is a lot of activity in the park, children playing games, animals running or exercising, or just sitting, chatting and eating a snack, etc, so there was a lot to contemplate while passing by.
Whenever I pass through this park, I have the illusion of ever meeting him around here ... Officer Nicholas Wilde. My biggest confession is that he is... my greatest crush ever, I admire him a lot, he is like my idol. He managed to put the entire fox community's reputation in the skies by being the first fox police officer in the history of Zootopia's Police Department, and even before that managed to end the great conspiracy of former ex-mayor Dawn Bellwether and the Night Howlers, which affected many innocent predators and our already bad reputation with prey animals. Thanks to him and Officer Judy Hopps they could close the case and clean up the reputation of predators, it's something for which I will always be grateful. Of course, though, my lean is more towards Officer Nicholas Wilde. I couldn't describe what I felt when I saw him for the first time on television, I couldn't stop seeing his beautiful green eyes, and that smile that he had on his face, I felt butterflies in my stomach, but ... my mind returned to reality, and just think that it would just be that, a simple crush. I was very aware that, even if I met him in person, absolutely nothing could ever happen between us even if I tried, in addition to that ... I would have problems with my mother, she has issues about homosexuality topics. Although I really consider myself somewhat bisexual for the sole reason of having a crush on a specific male fox, for her there would be no difference, and it's something she does not know, but since it's not relevant in my life, for now, I don't mention about the topic with her.
I sighed when I had those thoughts on my mind, it was something that made me quite sad, although, of course, that was not going to prevent me that, if I ever had the opportunity to approach him and even have a small talk, I would not hesitate for a second.
I was so distracted in my thoughts, listening to music and looking down to the ground for a bit that for a moment I didn't see the road ahead of me and accidentally bumped into someone.
- "Oh my God, excuse..." I stopped short when I saw, still keeping my gaze down, that the person I ran into had what apparently was a police suit. I looked up higher and faced who I ran into.
The animal turned around and I could see that it was him… it was really him, Officer Nicholas Wilde right in front of me. He was wearing dark sunglasses and he turned around to see me, he seemed a bit annoyed about it. As he turned around he saw me from head to toe and then turned to my face. So, I proceeded slowly to pause the music. -"...me." I finished.
- "Boy, lift your head please, because the next thing you can step on could be an open drain." The vulpine answered with a serious but joking tone.
I froze, my eyes wide as well as my mouth, not as wide as my eyes, but somewhat open. I hadn't contemplated finding him right here and now. IT HAD TO BE RIGHT NOW?! AND WHEN I LOOKED FOR HIM, I NEVER FOUND HIM! Life did play me dirty and it was no longer fun.
I don't know how many seconds I lasted with the same face, but the officer sensing a little tension in the air, he then broke the silence.
- "Hey, boy, are you okay? React please, it's an order. " He snapped his fingers near my face.
Okay, Andy, calm down, answer him, firmly, sure, and don't do something stupid.
- "I love you." I answered unconsciously. Okay, do you like to be dumb or what? Idiot fox.
- "What was that?" The vulpine replied with an extremely confused look, raising an eyebrow and lowering his sunglasses a little.
- "Ah, ah, I mean, say excuse me, officer, n-it was not my intention, I'm seriously sorry ..." I replied very nervous and so embarrassed that my cheeks were burning. I looked at him again, I really couldn't believe I was facing him... wow, he looks so much more handsome in person...
- "I hope so, you boy, otherwise I think we would have had a problem, right? He asked, taking off his sunglasses.
- "Yes, I'm sure we'd had, hehe. Sorry for the question, but ... are you Officer Nicholas Wilde? " I knew well that I was asking the obvious, but at least start with something.
- "Well, whether you've read the name on my badge or that I'm worldwide famous, that's right, I'm Officer Nicholas Wilde." He responded with a wink and his iconic smile.
My God, that smile… that same smile I saw on TV... please God, have mercy on me. I loved that smile so much, again I was beginning to feel butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't hold back my excitement anymore.
- "Oh my God, now way… I didn't think I could find you right here and now… Wow. I admire you so much, I always wanted to see you in person, you are a pride of our species, it's really an honor for me to talk to you ... even if it was this way, hehe. " I responded euphorically but a little terrified. I didn't want to bother him, but as I said, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be able to tell him all this that I had wanted to tell him for a long time.
- "Wow... well thank you very much, I appreciate it dearly, whatever it takes to serve the city, and your comments are always welcome." He responded with a warm and sincere smile. He responded with a warm and sincere smile. I don't know if Nick had previously received this type of positive comments and appreciation towards him, but if not, which should be a crime not to do, I'll gladly be the first one.
- "Yes, I hope I didn't bother telling you." I responded by touching my paws shyly.
- "Not at all, as I said, I really appreciate it, thank you very much." He said without removing his smile from his face.
-"Don't even mention it." I smiled back. "Hey, what about your partner, Officer Hopps?"
- "Oh, her? We were together, but we decided to split up to patrol the whole park, a routine patrol, and after a while, we'll meet again in our patrol car to return to the station." The vulpine replied.
Although I admired Officer Hopps as well as Officer Wilde, I was really grateful to find him without her, I had understood that they were partners and they were from one place to another always together, how lucky is Officer Hopps to always be with him, hehe.
"Oh okay, I understand, a pity, I would have loved to greet her too, I admire her a lot too." I replied.
- "But no more than me, right?" He arched an eyebrow with a half-serious half funny look.
- "Oh! Well no, I definitely admire you much more." I replied waving my paws.
- "Excellent, I like it that way, boy." He replied as he put his dark glasses back on. I laughed, he had a very light and humorous personality, he was so much better than I imagined.
Hell, I think we're going to finish the conversation now, I have to take one last thing.
- "Hey, excuse me, could we ... take a picture?" Without wasting any more time, I immediately took out my cell phone from my pocket.
- "Hm, not many animals ask me that, but of course, why not?" He came closer to me to be by my
I happily opened the camera on my cell phone and put it in selfie mode, the officer and I gave our best cheeky smiles and took the photo, I looked at it for a moment and wow, I loved it, Officer Wilde looked super handsome, and me too, we looked at each other very handsome, I won't lie. And great, my brand new wallpaper!
- "Wow, thank you very much, really thank you, I've wanted it for a long time." I said euphorically.
- "You don't have to be thankful, little fellow fox, it's always good to have your own fan club." He lowered her glasses a little to give me a wink. That wink was more than enough to make my day.
- "Hehe, well, now you know you have your # 1 fan." I replied with a small laugh.
- "Great, it was nice talking to you, what is your name? My #1 fan. " He smiled and reached out to shake his paw with mine.
- "My name's Andy and pleasure is all mine, officer." I responded by agreeing to shake his paw. I didn't know whether to ask this or not, but I'm not losing anything, the worst that could happen is that he said no. "Hey, one last thing, do you think it's possible for you... to give me your number?" I hesitated a bit when I asked it, but I had to steel myself.
The officer seemed doubtful about my request since he barely knew me and it was only by accident and mere fault of mine, but perhaps there would be hope that he would see that I would not try to harass him... much, and maybe consider being friends, or even... maybe something else, but I was happy to be friends if it must be only that.
- "Hmmm... you know, normally I would automatically say no..." He said putting one paw on his waist and the other on his chin.
- "But..." I said with a silly and playful smile.
"There is something about you that I find likable, and as I said, it's good meeting another fellow fox in this city. Also, you flattering me by being a # 1 fan of mine. " He said finally smiling.
- "That means…?" I said excitedly.
- "A yes from me." He responded with the same smile as his.
- "Oh my gosh, no way, thank you very much!" I said jumping with joy and caused glances and stares from the other animals that were passing by
Officer Wilde suggested I calm down or else he would have to arrest me for disturbing the peace, obviously joking about doing so, so I decided now to calm down a bit. I took out my cell phone and opened the keypad to record his number, which he carefully dictated to me. I registered the number and named it "Officer Handsome", to verify that it was his real number, I decided to call the number, and then I heard his cell phone ringing, and Officer Wilde took out his cell phone and showed it to me to confirm that it was his real number. I smiled very happily because that meant that he started to give me his trust.
- "Officer, I thank you very much for your trust, I will send you a message later that I leave my job, I hope you are free then." I said happily.
- "Charmed. Oh, and call me Nick, I'm not into formalities. " The vulpine chuckled.
- "Hehe, alright, thanks… Nick." I said with a smile.
- "Well Andy, I gotta get back to work and see my partner afterward, we'll talk later." The vulpine said goodbye to me and I saw him walk away towards the other direction of the park.
Wow, I have it, I have his number... if I'm dreaming, the stupid alarm, don't even think about ringing right now. I checked the time on my watch to see if I was dreaming, and no, I wasn't, but later I realize that it is 10:20 AM and that I only have 10 minutes to get to my work, from so much talking with the beautiful officer I never contemplated that my hour and a half was tailor-made to always arrive on time. I open my eyes like a banquet plate and I run like a perfect maniac to be on time.
You outdo yourself every day, you idiot fox.
