Yep, that's right, a crossover.
Honestly, seeing these two universes coming together is pretty cool, and I can't wait to see how this all plays out.
This isn't canon to either story, although if you consider it to be that's fine. It will only be a few chapters long, but they will hopefully be a bit longer than normal.
All characters and environments from Dynamite and a Laserbeam of course belong to DeathlyJazzHands55, and without further ado...
Let the crossover begin!
...
It was a beautiful, sunny day in Morioh, and Josuke Higashikata was feeling pretty good, all things considered.
He was currently sitting at Tonio's, along with his two interns. Ever since his grandfather had died, he made it his sworn duty to protect his beloved hometown from the supernatural and the villainous, and what better way than to become a pro hero?
To his left sat a young man with facial features similar to his own, wavy chestnut brown locks hanging out from underneath a white beanie covered in blue stars. A gold horseshoe was attached to the front of the hat, a symbol of luck.
This was his nephew, er...great-nephew? Jonathan Noriaki Kujo, who had been named after the first hero in the Joestar bloodline, Jonathon Joestar, and an old friend of his father, Noriaki Kakyion, who died in the battle against DIO. He typically preferred to go by Johnny rather than Jonathan, or if people really wanted to simplify it, JoJo.
Right now, the teen simply looked bored, but his company was always appreciated.
To his right sat a girl with a set of appendages growing from her ears, in the shape of earphone jacks. Her short-cut purple hair had small little squiggly lines that resembled a line from a heart monitor going across her bangs. Her face was rested in a bored expression, just like his great-nephew, although that was simply how she looked.
She was wearing a purple punk-themed jacket with gold shoulder pads, and it was adorned with pins of hearts and music notes. These pins, Josuke was proud to say, were a tribute to him and his tutelage. Under the jacket she wore a simple yellow tank top, with a leather strap running across it, holding a scabbard for a sword that was currently resting on her back.
This was Kyoka Jiro, Josuke's first student and prodigy, and Johnny's girlfriend. When he had first met her, she was an insecure mess, unsure about everything, and now she was a calm and confident hero in her own right. She had cemented herself both in his heart and within the Joestar family as a member-to-be.
She had even killed the worst thing to have ever happened to his family, Susan Cujoh (real surname, Cummings). Johnny's horribly abusive mother and an all-around shitstain.
Either way, he loved the two people in front of him quite a bit. They were a joy to be around—not that they could be the opposite—and their conversations together were always… interesting, to say the least.
"So...how will Tonio mutilate me today?" Kyoka asked, her expression dull and unamused.
"You said you had a headache...maybe your head will explode?" Johnny responded with a smirk.
"Fuck no! I'll take an aspirin."
Josuke chuckled in response to his two interns, finding their sense of humour to be unique. "Relax Kyoka, it's all harmless!"
The purplette let out a cold chuckle, her expression not changing once despite the exchange. "Last time I came here, I was holding my guts, literally. I almost puked them out all over again." Kyoka retorted. "I'm surprised I let you two talk me into coming back here."
"You love us."
"You're lucky I do."
Josuke leaned forward, ruffling his apprentice's hair affectionately. "I'm sure it won't be that bad."
"Or it could be very bad," Johnny added, earning a glare from his girlfriend.
"Jonathan..."
"What if your eyeballs pop out or something?"
"Mr. Josuke, am I allowed to hit him?" Kyoka asked. "Because I have an itch that I need to scratch."
"Remember when Gyro was talking about Kyokus Jackus? Maybe you'll turn into that." Johnny continued to tease, and Kyoka narrowed her eyes, and sharply poked him in the ribs with her finger.
"OW!"
"Don't bring up the time Gyro drew me as an eldritch being."
"He...what?" Josuke asked, confused. That was… news to him. Gyro had always been one for being eccentric. Josuke knew that the blond Italian didn't mean any harm, however, he still wanted to know what that exactly meant. Therefore, he gestured for her to continue.
Kyoka sighed, leaning back in her chair, dropping her arm over it in a lazy manner. "Yare yare...Gyro was teaching me Hamon, and we were wondering how the Spin would affect a quirk, and he made a joke about it turning me into a giant Earphone Jack Kraken thing. Then...he drew it."
"I noticed she's picking up your habits, Johnny."
"I'm a bad influence."
A plate of linguini was placed in front of Kyoka by the jovial Italian chef, and he gave coffee to the other two. "I hope you enjoy your meal, Signoria! Enjoy your coffee's my fine sirs," Tonio said, bowing slightly as Jirou smiled weakly.
"Thanks, Tonio…" the purplette stared at the food. She knew that Tonio's Pearl Jam did something to it, all in the need to "fix" whatever had been wrong with her head. The food had been specialized just to cure it. "I'm going to die," Kyoka said flatly, sighing.
"Quit being so dramatic," Johnny said, taking an earphone jack in his fingers and playfully wiggling it. "You'll be fine."
Tonio came back with a plate. "You'll need this for when she's done, to catch the...runoff."
"Can I write my last will and testament real quick?"
"Kyoka!" Josuke scolded. "Sorry Tonio, she isn't used to Pearl Jam quite yet."
"Neither were you if I recall correctly."
The two men laughed, reminiscing on the misunderstanding that occurred when they first met, and Kyoka rolled her eyes and took a bite.
"I mean, don't get me wrong, the food's good, some of the best I've ever had, I'm just not too fond of the...surprises after I eat it." Kyoka said, finishing the bite as she looked over at the chef with a glance.
"It will cure your headache, signora," Tonio said, a small smile on his face as his eyes gleamed. "After all, that is Pearl Jam's purpose!"
"I know, I know," Kyoka said. "I trust you, Tonio, really...it's just that it makes me a bit uncomforta-aaa...AAAAACHOOOOO!"
Johnny held the plate under Kyoka's nose just as she sneezed out a glob of snot the size of a softball. "Ew..."
"UGH! I'm all goopy!"
"See, a sinus problem," Tonio said, taking out a tissue and giving it to Kyoka, who began furiously wiping her nose. He reached out, took the plate of mucus, and retreated to the back to dispose of it.
"Did you die?" Johnny asked as they walked out of the restaurant, passing by the graveyard.
"On the inside, yes. People were watching that," Kyoka shuddered.
"Kyoka, people literally explode in there, what happened to you was tame," Josuke said, grinning.
"Well, it's good to know you sneeze like a water buffalo, it'll be useful information for the future," Johnny said with a sly grin.
"...I'm gonna kick your dump truck of an ass, Johnny Kujo," Kyoka said through grit teeth, giving him a soft glare as the brown-haired boy snapped back with an annoyed shout.
"MY ASS ISN'T THAT BIG!"
"This conversation is starting to take a weird turn," Josuke said.
"You say that like weird isn't your normal." Kyoka retorted. "Seriously, out of all the families I could've gotten involved with...my life is now a circus."
"You're the one who confessed your undying love for me, you were asking for it," Johnny said with a half-smile, crossing his arms as Kyoka rolled her eyes in response.
"And you took an internship with me, you continued to train with me afterwards, and you constantly come to me for advice-"
"Okay! I get it, I never said I didn't enjoy the circus!" Kyoka interrupted the pompadour-haired adult, looking away with an annoyed expression taking up her complacent one.
"When it isn't trying to kill us anyway..." Johnny muttered.
"Well, whether it does, or doesn't, there's always something strange waiting around the corner," Josuke said, smiling.
And then a heavy object fell right on top of him, and Josuke Higashikata was seeing stars.
...
To say Yoshihara Kira was in a bad mood would be an understatement.
Here she was, minding her own business, when she suddenly started falling, with Josefumi Kujo in tow. Honestly, not the worst thing that's happened to her by far, but she still had every right to be pissed.
She slowly sat up, brushed her blonde hair out of her eyes, and looked around. Something was off about her location, it looked strangely familiar.
So did the two people right in front of her.
One of them was her classmate, Kyoka Jirou, although she could see no recognition in the purplette's eyes, only mild shock. When did she change her hero costume? I didn't shred it that bad...
To Jirou's right was a guy who bore a striking resemblance to Josefumi, although he had long chestnut brown hair that fell to his shoulders, rather than a purple pompadour. However, his gaze was a bit more intense than Josefumi's ever was, Yoshihara could feel him staring directly into her, studying her, judging if she was a threat.
Then, a grumble was heard from underneath her, and she found that she was currently sitting on a man who looked more like Josefumi than the other guy did, ahead of black hair combed neatly into a pompadour, and a white jacket lined with pins in the shape of hearts and peace signs.
"Sorry." Yoshihara simply said, getting off of the man, who looked to be in his early thirties or late twenties.
"Ow...let someone know when you're falling from the sky next time..."
"Well, that happened," Jirou said, blinking. "Are...you okay? Both of you?"
"Other than her adding twenty more years onto my life, I'm fine." The man waved her off. "Er...who are you exactly?"
"Yoshihara Kira," Yoshihara said, brushing herself off, and the man narrowed his eyes.
"Kira?"
"Yes."
The man was looking at her strangely. "Josuke Higashikata."
"Whoa, hang on," Jirou said putting up her hands. "Kira as in Yoshikage Kira?"
Yoshihara looked at her inquisitively. "Jirou, what the hell are you talking about?"
"How the hell do you know my name?!"
"I'm...your classmate, we fought during the battle training."
"Correction, you hurt her pretty bad during battle training." Josefumi suddenly entered her line of sight. "She didn't even get a chance to fight you."
"What the actual hell?" Jirou breathed out, but the guy with the brown hair pulled her aside, and the two began whispering amongst each other.
Yoshihara watched the interaction, suspicious.
She doesn't even remember me, or Josefumi by the looks of it...
Something is wrong here.
...
"I fought you during battle training, and that was a while ago," Kyoka said, confused. "Apparently this girl fucked me up? She's a Kira?"
"She fucked up a different version of you up." Johnny surmised, looking at Josefumi. "Different memories, different outcomes...and that guy looks like a Joestar, but nobody I would recognize...this is a multiversal issue."
"Valentine?! Why the hell would he bring them into this?" Kyoka near shouted.
"He wouldn't. That's why it's an issue, he definitely isn't the culprit, their presence lacks any proper motive or reason behind it." Johnny said. "We have another reality manipulating stand on our hands."
"...That's terrifying, are you sure?"
"90 percent. There's something I have to check first..."
"I know that face, that's the: 'I'm gonna make Kyoka angry' face."
Johnny only gave her a smirk and began walking over to Yoshihara. Kyoka's face dropped, and she slowly put her face into her hands. "He's gonna be the death of me..."
...
Yoshihara bristled as the guy with the brown hair suddenly stopped in front of her. She really didn't like how close he was getting.
"You look like you're confused, so I'll fill you in. This isn't your reality, at all. This version of Kyoka fought me during battle training, and could probably fold someone's ass into origami. I'm Jonathan Kujo, but you can call me Johnny."
Johnny offered his hand for her to shake.
"It's a Pleasure," Yoshihara said but didn't take his hand.
What is this guy's game? Why does he look...satisfied?
Johnny withdrew his hand, with a knowing smirk on his face. "You really don't like people invading your bubble, do you?"
'This bastard is reading me like a book,' Yoshihara thought, not making any expression, simply observing the boy with a critical eye.
"Not particularly."
"Sorry then. This is all clearly a mess, so we'll have to find some way to return you home before shit hits the fan. It's safe to say that you aren't comfortable with me...but I can promise that I'm no enemy. We'll return you home as soon as possible."
Yoshihara tilted her head, confused by his motives.
So, an alternate reality...that explains why Jirou didn't recognize me. And this guy is a Kujo like Josefumi...I can see a few similarities in terms of personality. But he's definitely getting on my nerves. Yoshihara thought, a slight grimace on her face as she observed the other Kujo.
There was just something about the way he moved, that indicated he was suspicious. Not hostile per se, but he was wary of her, perhaps even more so than she was wary of him...
Scratch that.
"Jonathan Kujo..." Josefumi said, his eyes wide with shock. "This definitely has to be an alternate universe..."
Johnny raised an eyebrow. "What was that?"
"Nothing. Josefumi Kujo." Josefumi offered a hand to Johnny, and he took it. "Nice to know that there are Joestars running around in different realities. Don't mind Kira-san, she's a bit of an introvert."
A bit?
"Interesting...it almost seems as though you two are friends."
"Sort of."
Johnny glanced at Yoshihara. "I apologize if I seem off...the history between Joestars and Kiras is a little less...amicable, in our universe."
Josuke grumbled something, and Jirou was standing within running distance of Johnny, indicating some sort of protectiveness. Yoshihara could tell that this version of her classmate was different, a bit more experienced...
And from her sleeve...a bit of what appeared to be scar tissue was exposed. This Jirou was an experienced fighter, that was certain.
And Josuke wasn't taking his eyes off of her.
Now that she thought about it, she began to observe the environment, and she finally realized where she was...
Morioh.
Yoshihara felt her heart begin to quicken, but she aggressively fought down the oncoming panic attack. It's not the same Morioh, it's not the same Morioh...
She just repeated the phrase in her head, multiple times, until she managed to somewhat calm her nerves. 'It's not the same...for all I know, this Morioh is completely different...yeah...' Yoshihara thought, sighing under her breath.
Just don't pay too much attention to the environment.
...
"She just had a mini panic attack," Kyoka muttered to her mentor.
"Kira? Why?"
"Not sure, she repressed it before it got out of hand. I've been focusing on her heartbeat to see if she's lying about stuff...and it was going nuts for a second there," The purplette whispered, glancing over to the blond for a split second before she could notice.
"Interesting...well, she doesn't seem malicious, just extremely reserved. Perhaps she isn't an enemy, perhaps she is..."
"If she's friends...or acquaintances with a Joestar, I doubt it," Kyoka said. "Being observant runs in your family, he wouldn't have kept her around if she was evil."
"True...but there's just something about her that's unsettling, and I think Johnny definitely picked up on that. Maybe not an enemy, but I wouldn't call her a friend just yet." Josuke advised, and Kyoka nodded.
"We giving her the benefit of the doubt, then?"
"Yep. Until she proves otherwise, she's no enemy."
Kyoka sighed. "We should start trying to get them home, I'm already uncomfortable."
"Agreed."
Josuke stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Okay...so we have a bit of a mixup, and this could only be the result of a Stand. You think you could tell us what happened before you ended up here?"
"Well, there was this kid..." Josefumi said, scratching his head.
"There was?"
"Yeah, he was behind us." Josefumi narrowed his eyes in thought. "He was saying something about seeing how we'd interact...if this kid is the user, do you think he just wanted us to meet you?"
"Why would he break reality just so we could meet?" Kyoka asked, confused. "That seems a little extreme."
"Maybe he can see into different universes, and he wanted to make some real-life crossover fanfiction," Johnny suggested.
"...that's a stupid idea, why on Earth would anyone want to do that? Doesn't he have better things to do?" Kyoka retorted.
"If this Josefumi guy is right about this, he's just a kid. He probably thinks it's fun."
"Then...he's watching us, right? If this is some kind of story or TV show for him..." Kyoka dropped her voice to a whisper.
"Yeah, but it seems harmless right now, chances are he'll send them back on his own when he's done having fun," Josuke whispered back. "I guess we just have to babysit them until he's done."
"You do know we're in earshot, right?" Yoshihara asked, her expression making it known that she had been none too pleased with the remark.
...
*Sometime Later*
"So in your universe, only quirkless people can't see stands?" Josefumi asked. "In ours, nobody but stand users even know that stands exist, we usually disguise them as quirks."
"Well, stands and quirks are similar enough...so what's the point of hiding them?" Josuke asked. "Everyone knows about Crazy Diamond, it's even my unofficial hero name."
"So did I...our timeline is pretty different from yours...you'd be like...80 in our universe."
"80?!"
Kyoka giggled. "Old man."
"I'm not old!"
"Still, it's pretty sweet to see you protecting Morioh, even if it's a different version of you. I've heard so many stories about the Joestars of old, it's nice to see one of them in action." Josefumi said, honestly.
One of them? Johnny thought to himself but shrugged it off. In all honesty, he probably just didn't exist in their world.
No...the way he said my name...
It's their world, not mine. Therefore, it's none of my business.
Johnny noticed that Yoshihara was eyeing Kyoka and subtly moved over to take his girlfriend's hand. Kyoka looked at him inquisitively, but Johnny gave her a look that said: 'Don't question it, keep moving.'
He didn't trust Yoshihara, while she didn't seem malicious, the way she responded to his questions, her abrupt form of speaking...
There was something wrong with her, and he didn't want to find Kyoka's severed hand lying somewhere. He almost lost her once...
The memory of holding Kyoka's broken, near lifeless body after Nine smashed her into a cliff made Johnny shudder. This girl had pieced together his reality after Susan shattered it, she was almost the sole reason he could finally be truly happy.
There was no way he would ever let that happen again.
Meanwhile, Yoshihara had noticed the protective movement that Johnny made towards the alternate version of her classmate. He really cares about her, quite a bit.
'I glance in her direction and he's at her side like a loyal dog. I don't know what I did to make him regard me as a danger, but it's not like I'm going to murder her for no reason.' The blond thought in passing, her eyes following them like a hawk.
If anything, she had ample reason not to trust Johnny.
'One false move and I could be on the receiving end of a stand beatdown. His lack of trust in me could lead to a confrontation in the future...'
Stuck in an alternate universe with people that hated her for no reason. Not her cup of tea.
"I came as soon as I got the message...man as if things weren't getting weird enough..."
Wait...
I know that voice...
Yoshihara lifted her head up and saw a figure standing on top of one of the buildings. A light green suit with an 'x' shaped chest plate was one of the first things Yoshihara noticed. A set of green pupils peeked out from the cowl on the figure, and a metal mask covered his mouth.
Honestly, the figure looked rather intimidating, but the voice was the exact opposite.
It was the voice of her friend, Izuku Midoriya.
Izuku lept down from the building, landing on his feet. He then took off the cowl, and Yoshihara was a bit taken aback. This version of her friend had cut his green curly hair short, and he almost looked a bit more mature.
"How's it going? You broccoli head son of a bitch." Johnny said with a grin.
"Pretty good. I had to bring that guy with me." Izuku said, smiling back. Another figure kept down from the building and landed right on his ass.
"Ow! Il mio culo!"
The blonde man straightened his wide-brimmed hat. He had patches of facial hair lining his chin, and a set of green balls, which looked to be made from steel, hanging from his belt...and the buckle had a pair of hands pointing straight to his dick.
Is that even allowed on his hero costume? Who approved that?
"Gyro! Where's YaoMomo? Or Uraraka? Or Katsuki...where the hell is everyone else?!"
"I believe they encountered a similar problem with this cyborg ninja guy running around, looking for a guy named Sam. I figured those three could handle it." Gyro said, shrugging, before turning to Yoshihara and Josefumi. "These the people?"
"Yup."
Gyro walked right up to them and frowned.
"What's with the sour look?"
"I forgot my pizza...I left it back at the dorms."
"Why...are you looking at m-" Yoshihara was about to ask, but stopped.
'...Is he making a flat chest joke? He was looking right at me,' Yoshihara thought, levelling a glare at the man. 'It's official, he's an asshole.'
"We can stop while we're tracking this kid down, any luck Josefumi?" Josuke asked.
"Er...nope."
"Well, hurry up and find the kid, I want to go home," Yoshihara said, getting straight to the point. "And I know what you just did, asshole."
Gyro grinned, revealing a set of golden grills that spelled out: 'Go! Go! Zeppeli!'
"What did I do? I just made a comment about pizza."
"Pizzas are flat."
"So?"
Yoshihara narrowed her eyes, but the Italian kept grinning.
"You were making a joke right?"
"No, I actually wasn't. Although your mind jumped to something didn't it? Nyo ho!"
Oh...
'You clever bastard. You baited me into thinking you made a joke, so I would tell one myself.'
Gyro winked at her and walked over to Johnny's side.
"Bit of a testy one, huh?" Gyro said, and Johnny nodded.
"Keep an eye on her, she's giving me some bad vibes."
"Got it," Gryo responded, his expression dropping to a serious one.
The group continued to walk down the streets of Morioh, searching for the kid Josefumi had identified, but no such luck.
Then they came across a building that none of them recognized.
"A strip club?"
"I didn't think Morioh had any strip clubs, at least official ones," Johnny said, confused.
"It doesn't," Josuke said, narrowing his eyes. "It doesn't at all, I know this town like the back of my hand, I've been protecting it for decades."
Yoshihara looked as though she had seen a ghost. "I've...seen it...before..."
"You have?" Johnny asked, his eyes narrowing. "How?"
"That's none of your business...but I can tell you that I've seen this building."
The group stared at it for a while, and Johnny's eyes were shifting from Yoshihara to the building.
"Yare yare...I'm going in."
"NO!"
Both Yoshihara and Kyoka screamed that at the same time, but for different reasons. Johnny looked at them, confused. "This is clearly an anomaly, shouldn't it be investigated?"
"You know I'm uncomfortable with that stuff, JoJo...I'm not going in." Kyoka said, crossing her arms. "And you shouldn't go in either."
"I agree with her, it could be a trap," Yoshihara said, although Johnny could tell there was an ulterior motive.
Johnny sighed. "It's not like I'm going in there to be a pervert or anything, I could handle a trap."
"I know you could, but you being in there would put my nerves on edge." Kyoka put her hands on his shoulders and leaned in. "You know damn well someone would make a move on you, and then I'd have to go in and kick the shit out of them, and then I'd get embarrassed because of all the nudity. Besides...look at her Johnny."
Johnny once again looked at Yoshihara, who actually looked quite nervous.
"She clearly has some sort of past with this place...I know she isn't trustworthy, but we shouldn't actively try to harm her because of it." Kyoka whispered, and Johnny lowered his head.
"You're right, that would be pretty cruel of me. Thanks for noticing that before I did."
"I often am. I'm the little angel on your shoulder, after all."
"Shut up."
Johnny turned around. "We aren't going in, but we should at least talk about why it's here."
Izuku was blushing a deep shade of crimson, just staring at the building and sputtering.
"Izuku?"
"G-Gyro a-already went i-in."
"GOD DAMMIT! GYRO!"
Gyro came back out. "What?!"
Kyoka socked Gyro in the arm. "We decided not to go in!"
"But Josuke went in there, I just followed him."
"He's the adult here!"
"So? It's an investigation! It's not like we're here for pleasure."
"You're such a jackass."
"Hold it."
Everyone turned to Josefumi, who was pointing at the grass. "You seeing what I am seeing?"
Johnny knelt down and plucked a blade free from the lawn. "It's growing out of concrete, not dirt. It's almost as if the grass fused through the concrete...as if they were mashed together."
"This building is from our world, but it was put here." Josefumi theorized. "Just like us...except it was clearly forced here."
"Our worlds are fusing together...that's the only explanation," Johnny said, his expression dark.
Kyoka blinked. "So...in other words...we need to find this kid quickly. It's only a matter of time before alternate versions of ourselves show up, and they don't know what happens to people when they come into contact with their counterparts."
"None of the other people do either, not just our alternate selves," Izuku said, grimacing. "If a lot of people encounter their doppelgangers and aren't informed about what happens, they're bound to touch each other."
"What are you talking about?" Yoshihara asked, confused.
"This isn't the first time we've dealt with the multiverse," Johnny explained. "There is another stand user capable of visiting alternate universes, someone, who was initially our enemy. He frequently used this effect as a method of execution. There's no escape from it unless you have assistance."
"When two of the same object, each originating in a different universe, come into contact with each other, they destroy each other. In other words..." Gyro said, his face looking grim.
"Both of our worlds would suffer deaths in the billions." Yoshihara finished, and her face scrunched up. "Great, just great."
"From a weird mix-up to the motherfucking apocalypse...yep, that checks out," Kyoka said, groaning. "Just another day with the Joestars."
"Would the two worlds destroy each other?" Josefumi asked.
"We better hope not."
Josuke came out of the building, stretching. "There's nobody inside...why does everybody look like their dog just died?"
...
Yoshihara sat by herself, Izuku standing to her far right.
She knew that the others had instructed him to keep an eye on her, whether it was out of distrust or for her safety, she didn't know.
Either way, she and an alternate version of her friend were now sitting in silence. Eventually, she tried to break the silence.
"Is Bakugo still an asshole in this universe?"
Izuku looked at her inquisitively. "What do you mean by that?"
"I caught him bullying you in mine."
"You know me?"
"You're probably my best friend," Yoshihara said, and Izuku seemed interested. He was so very much like the Izuku in her universe, but different. "At least, my you."
"...He was...but he's been making an effort to fix that," Izuku said, crossing his arms. "Kacchan is...kind of my friend again."
"Your mother would be happy."
"You met her?"
"I guess you could say we got acquainted," Yoshihara replied. "People with quirks can see stands in this universe...you must know about Fly Fly Away."
"...I'm afraid that isn't a Stand I've encountered before."
"She managed to hide it from you? For that long?"
"Who?"
"Your mother!"
Izuku blinked. "My mom...isn't a stand user at all. She has a quirk that allows her to pull small objects."
"It's a front for her stand."
"I've seen her use her quirk, I would've seen the stand if that were the case."
Yoshihara furrowed her brow. "So...your mom is just a normal person in this universe...huh."
"She isn't in yours? She's a stand user?"
"She tried to kill me."
"..."
"Midoriya?"
"..."
"Midoriya you're scaring me."
"..."
"Do we need to get you to the doctor?"
"WHAT THE ACTUAL- SHE TRIED TO KILL YOU?! WHAT?!" Izuku yelled, his eyes wider than dinner plates. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO WARRANT THAT EXTREME OF A REACTION?!"
"I...became friends with you?"
"WHAT?!"
"Stand users are attracted to other stand users, she thought I would draw danger to you or something."
"I've been friends with a stand user since I was a child, and my mom never batted an eye!"
"Really?" Yoshihara was curious. "Who?"
"JoJo...er, Johnny. He's been my friend for as long as I can remember. When everyone else gave up on me, he was the person who had faith that I could be a hero."
So this Johnny Kujo was...actually a good friend to him. This Izuku had someone watching over him...
Yoshihara thought back to Johnny's protective actions towards this universe's Jirou, and she began to understand him a little better.
He's cautious because he cares about his friends...good to know.
"In my universe, I was basically your first friend...I'm glad to know at least some version of you wasn't suffering through that alone."
"Well...he moved away for a while. It wasn't his fault, really, and he kept in touch online. So...he could only protect me with words. However, he always managed to pick me up after Kacchan beat me down, even though we were continents away. We were finally reunited when we began our year at UA."
"Still...he protected you in any way he could."
"He genuinely believed in me. He...later told me that it was because I was already his hero. I don't want to open that can of worms for the sake of his privacy...but his mother was a horrible person, she was bat-shit crazy."
Hearing Izuku call someone 'bat-shit crazy' was weird enough, but suddenly she found that she and Johnny had something in common.
'I'm finally starting to understand you a little bit more, Johnny Kujo...you're a good person, I misjudged you.'
It was safe to say that having Johnny as an ally would be far better than having him as a foe.
...
"Oi, kid."
A small boy with a head of blonde hair looked up to see a familiar sight: that of Johnny Kujo, Gyro Zeppeli, and Kyoka Jiro.
"Oh, the original three protagonists!"
"...what?"
"You know...the three main characters before the One For All group began to expand!" The kid grinned. "It's so cool to see you guys in person!"
Johnny and Gyro shared a look, and Gyro stepped forward. "Uh, look kid...the...' crossover' is fun and all, but-"
"It's Karl!"
Gyro blinked and began to grin.
"Gyro, don't you dare." Kyoka admonished.
Gyro took a deep breath.
"I swear to God."
"Kaaaaaarl, that kills people!"
"Kyoka, you just have to accept the obscure references at this point," Johnny said.
"This is a serious situation."
Karl, however, didn't get the reference, he only stared at Gyro with blissful confusion.
"*sigh* kids these days."
Kyoka pushed Gyro out of the way and got onto one knee so that she was around Karl's height. "Karl, it's cool that you want to meet us, but-"
"Can you sing Hero Too?!"
"Uh...maybe after. Karl-"
"KAAAAARLLL-"
"GYRO, SHUT UP! Karl, uh...how exactly do you know all of this stuff about us?"
"I can see into other universes with my stand! I saw you guys beat up the Necromancer, and from then on I was hooked!"
"Our lives were seriously in danger, and this kid thinks this is all a game?" Johnny muttered to Gyro. "We were preparing for death and everything."
"He's just a kid, he doesn't understand the weight of it all yet."
"The Necromancer of all the villains we've faced? The guy was such a douchebag."
"Wait, like...how much do you see?" Kyoka asked Karl.
"Only the important parts."
"Well, at least he isn't spying on us naked," Johnny said, wiping fake sweat from his forehead.
Kyoka turned to glare at her friends, before turning back to Karl. "Okay...have you tried to make crossovers before?"
"Oh yeah, plenty of times! It's always so fun, getting to see people interact and stuff!" Karl smiled brightly.
"Er...what do you do after the crossovers are done? Because...it seems as though it might be causing some problems."
"Problems?"
Johnny stepped forward. "Yeah...problems...big ones."
Karl began to shrink back. "U-uh, I'm s-sorry! I-I d-didn't mean to make you angry."
"I'm not angry."
"T-Tusk is out!"
"Well yeah, it is." It was true that Johnny had summoned his stand, but it wasn't even facing the kid. In reality, he was about to use it to go check on Yoshihara and Izuku.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I thought y-you would like Yoshihara..."
"I don't dislike her, kid, what the hell are you talking about?" Tusk turned around with its user to 'chumimi' inquisitively.
Karl's eyes were trained on the massive pink stand, as it towered over everyone else. To everyone watching, it was clear that Tusk bore Karl no ill-will, in fact, it had quite the friendly attitude towards the boy. The Stand almost seemed to be smiling, reassuringly.
However...to the undeveloped mind of a nine-year-old boy, it looked ready to pound him.
"PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!" Karl screamed, and Tusk tilted its head in confusion.
"Johnny, PUT AWAY YOUR STAND! PUT IT AWAY!" Kyoka yelled, and Johnny sent Tusk shooting away from them and towards Izuku's location.
But it was too late, as Karl had begun sprinting.
"WAIT, KID! KARL!" Johnny called put after him. "COME BACK!"
"GO AWAAAAY!"
Johnny attempted to chase after him, but Kyoka suddenly yanked him back.
A bullet slammed into the wall next to them. It would've hit him if Kyoka hadn't heard it coming.
"Damn it..." Johnny said, ashamed. "I didn't think Tusk would scare him, it was even smiling at him!"
"He's a kid JoJo...it's not your fault of course, but..." Kyoka froze as their assailant entered her line of vision. "No...it can't be..."
Gyro's eyes widened in surprise. "It isn't..."
Johnny's face contorted into a look of utter loathing. "It most certainly is."
Magenta Magenta stood across from them, a smoking gun in his hand and a wicked smirk on his scarred face. "Well well well, who do we have here? Kujo...Zeppeli...and Jiro."
The sound of the nasally voice of their old enemy was more than enough to stoke Johnny's rage, he stepped forward...
Kyoka's hand stopped him in his tracks.
"Kyoka?"
"Go find the others, I can take care of him."
Magenta Magenta raised an eyebrow. "Spaghetti ears, it's been a whi-"
Magenta's one eye blinked, and then he shakily pointed a finger at the purplette.
"Is that...my...my...WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY FAVORITE JACKET?!"
"I found it, and I actually made it look good," Kyoka replied, her bangs casting a shadow over her eyes.
"Kyoka, while I have more than enough faith in you-"
"JoJo, you misunderstand...I'm saying he's mine. I have a score to settle with this bastard."
Magenta was enraged. "At first I was in the middle of fighting Wekapipo and that shitty old man, and now you people?! Kujo, how can you walk?! How did your floppy-eared whore of a girlfriend get here, wearing my ruined jacket?!"
"WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL HE-" Johnny was once again stopped by Kyoka, who was smirking.
"JoJo, I love you to death, and I appreciate that you're getting angry on my behalf, but I need some closure." Kyoka looked Johnny in the eye, and Johnny saw something that told him everything he needed to know.
Purple flames. The Dark Determination.
"So please, can you focus on finding and calming down the kid? I've got a few things I want to say to this bastard."
Johnny nodded. "He's all yours."
Kyoka stood up on her tiptoes and placed a brief kiss on Johnny's lips, earning a 'bleh' from Magenta, and smiled. "I'll catch up with you when I'm done."
Johnny gave her a brief wave and sprinted after his stand.
"You want me to stay?" Gyro asked. "The fight is yours, but something can always go wrong."
"Don't interfere unless it looks like I'm losing."
"Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of messing with your opportunity to get some long-overdue payback."
Kyoka nodded to Gyro, who stood off to the side. She then began walking towards Magenta, each step radiating hostility.
"I read your diary too. Read your entry in the USJ incident...you called me a, and I quote, 'scared little mouse.' Maybe you were right at the time, I don't know, maybe I always had strength, and it wasn't there at the time. But I do remember freezing. I remember watching the bullet come towards me, the smug little grin on your face, and the fear that followed. I remember thinking about my parents, and what they would do if I died...then Johnny saved me."
Kyoka stopped about five meters from Magenta, who was fuming.
"Wekapipo was going to kick your ass before Karl pulled you in from the past in an effort to protect himself. I never got the chance to show you how much I've changed...which is why I'm gonna enjoy this."
"You're still just a scared little girl trying to play hero, always was, and always will be!" Magenta taunted.
"Then why are you the one who's frozen?"
Magenta faltered, then pointed the gun right at Kyoka, his eye twitching. "Quit playing your fucking mind games and just DIE ALREADY!"
CRACK!
BANG!
The crack was the sound of Kyoka's jack striking Magenta's hand like a whip.
The bang was the sound of the gun firing, and completely missing her after the strike. The smoking gun fell to the ground as a fountain of blood sprayed from Magenta's hand. The villain screamed in pain and terror.
"I believe I hit an artery, pretty painful. I hope you have something to stop the bleeding."
Magenta pulled out a roll of gauze from his jacket, and bound his hand, growling. "So...you've grown a backbone, you still don't stand a chance against my 20th Century Boy!"
"That remains to be seen, Magenta Magenta." Kyoka retorted, her jacks inserting themselves into her boots. "It's time for this 'scared little mouse' to show you how much SHE'S GROWN!"
The two combatants closed in on each other, and when they clashed, Magenta had come to realize something that terrified him down to his core:
She didn't freeze once.
In his apparent absence, the mouse had turned into the cat.
...
"So...you scared the kid away?!" Josuke said. "And you left Kyoka to fight Magenta Magenta of all people?!"
"Magenta almost killed her, during the USJ, and she never got closure from that. Wekapipo beat him before she could get a chance to. She's more than capable of handling a man like him now...she needed this." Johnny responded. "I don't think she would've forgiven me if I denied her the chance to redeem herself against him. It was...a very hard decision...but I trust her."
"I suppose you're right...still, now I'm worried," Josuke said. "This kid thought Tusk was going to hurt him, is it a stretch to think he didn't bring in more baddies to protect himself?"
"No, it isn't." Yoshihara stood up, putting her hands in her pockets as she began to pace around. "Someone needs to make this kid understand that he's accidentally going to destroy us...otherwise..."
"I don't know if I could kill a kid, Kira," Johnny said, but Yoshihara didn't hear any judgement from his voice. "I'm no stranger to taking a life, but..."
"I'm only saying that it might have to be a last resort...I don't want to either. However, with our worlds at stake..." Yoshihara let the silence speak volumes on her thoughts, and everyone pretty much agreed in silence.
"I'm pretty good with kids, I could probably get through to him," Izuku said.
"You could try, then he would spawn some alternate All For One on you or something." Josuke retorted.
"What's an 'All For One?'" Josefumi asked.
"Not important. While Kira isn't wrong, we have to try and resolve this in such a way that Karl doesn't get hurt." Josuke said.
"I'm not good at that..." the blond paused, earning some looks. "My Stand, not me, I don't want to hurt the kid," Yoshihara corrected.
"We figured," Johnny replied. "Either Izuku or Uncle Josuke would probably be our safest bet...I might scare him away again..."
Josefumi smirked. "Then...I guess the hunt for Karl has begun."
"kaaaaaaaaarlllll!" A voice wheezed out in the distance.
"How did he hear us?"
