A/N Hey, guys. This is my first time writing a Riverdale fanfic and I'm gonna throw in my OCs Luke and Leia Hawthorne. And yeah, I named them after the two iconic characters Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa from the Star Wars movie franchise. Please bare with me if my facts are out of the line. This story will take place in the first season. I'm not really good with summaries, so let me know if there's something I need to improve on because I have room for improvements. But anyway, the summary is about the twins moving back to Riverdale with their parents for the first time in years since they moved to Dallas. So sit back, and let's get right to it.

I own my OCs. All of the characters belong to Warner Bros. Media.

Jughead's narration: Our story is about a town, a small town, and the people who live in the town. From a distance, it presents itself like so many other small towns all over the world... Safe. Decent. Innocent. Get closer, though, and you start seeing the shadows underneath. The name of our town is Riverdale. And our story begins, I guess, with what the Blossom twins did this summer. On the Fourth of July, just after dawn, Jason and Cheryl Blossom drove out to Sweetwater River for an early morning boat ride. The next thing we know happened for sure is that Dilton Doiley, who was leading Riverdale's Boy Scout Troop on a bird watching expedition, came upon Cheryl by the river's edge. Riverdale Police dragged Sweetwater River for Jason's body, but never found it. So, a week later, the Blossom family buried an empty casket and Jason's death was ruled an accident, as the story that Cheryl told made the rounds. That Cheryl dropped a glove in the water, and Jason reached down to get it, and accidentally tipped the boat, and panicked, and drowned. As for us, we were still talking about the "July Fourth tragedy" on the last day of summer vacation, when a new mystery rolled into town.

Luke Hawthorne hated one thing. He didn't like the idea of moving back to the small town of Riverdale for the first time in years with his twin sister Leia and their parents. The twins were close friends with Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, and Jughead Jones during their childhood days. Luke and his family had moved to Dallas since he and Leia were nine years old because their parents wanted to start a new chapter. Seven years later, now sixteen years old, the family prepared to leave Dallas and move back to Riverdale.

"Luke, are you ready to go?" his mother, Natalie asked.

"No," he replied as he looked back to the small house he grew up in.

"He's ready mom," said Leia.

"Let's get moving. We'll be in Riverdale in a few hours," the twins' father Daniel informed.

Luke picked up his duffel bag and stashed it in the car trunk and closed it before he gets in the car. He looks back at the empty house one last time.

'Goodbye Dallas,' he thought somberly.

Luke puts on his earbuds as the car drove away from their home. He glanced at the Welcome to Dallas road sign for the last time. He wasn't happy that he had to move back to the small town that he and Leia grew up in since they were kids.

"Come on, Luke. You know I don't like seeing the sadness from you," said Leia.

"You're the only one from all of us that's happy to be moving back to Riverdale. I really loved staying in Dallas," said Luke.

"Our friends will be happy that we're back in Riverdale for good this time," she said.

"Are you kidding me? They won't recognize us since we moved away. We haven't seen them since we were nine years old," he said.

"Could you two not argue right now?" asked Natalie.

"Sorry mom," said Leia.

Luke puts on rock music as it played on his earbuds. Two hours later, Leia had fallen asleep and Luke looked at the picture of his days in Riverdale with his sister and their friends when they were younger on his phone. Driving past the border, Luke looked at the Welcome to Riverdale The Town With Pep! sign and lets out a deep breath.

"Mom, can we stop by Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe? I've been craving for burger and fries for a while since the drive to Riverdale," said Luke.

"You haven't said anything for the whole ride and the first thing you say is stopping by the diner? You could've just asked for something to eat," Leia reminded him.

"I can't help it. Nothing ever tops the best diner joints like Pop's. Unless you miss the best milkshakes that they made here," he said.

"Your brother's right. I'm also craving some milkshakes too," said Natalie.

"All right. We're stopping by Pop's for a bit then we go to our new house," said Daniel.

The family then stopped by Pop's diner and Luke was the first to get out of the car.

'Home sweet home,' he thought.

The twins entered the diner before they looked around and Leia smiled.

'Nothing's ever changed,' she thought.

They sat down at a nearby booth and waited for their parents.

"What can I get you kids today?" the owner, Pop Tate asked.

The twins looked up and saw the man they haven't seen in years.

"Pop Tate? Is it really you?" asked Leia.

"Luke and Leia Hawthorne? I haven't seen you guys in years," Pop Tate replied.

"We just moved back from Dallas. And also, we're gonna be staying around Riverdale permamently," said Luke.

"How's your parents? If you don't mind me asking," said Pop Tate.

"They should be coming in about now," said Leia.

Just then, the twins' parents came in and they're surprised to see the face of a man for the first time in years since moving away from Riverdale.

"Daniel? Natalie?" asked Pop Tate.

"Pop Tate. It's been quite some time," Natalie replied.

"It has. How you've been?" said Pop Tate.

"We just got back. And I thought moving back here will give the kids an opportunity to reunite with their friends," said Daniel.

"Hermione Lodge was just here before you guys came," said Pop Tate.

The twins' parents looked up in surprise. They haven't spoke to Hermione Lodge or kept in touch with their old friends in years.

"Hermione Lodge? As in the wife of Hiram Lodge?" asked Luke.

"He's in jail for financial crimes right now," Leia said to her brother.

The twins and their parents ate the burger and fries and drank some milkshakes before paying the bill and left for their new home. After fifteen minutes of driving, the Hawthorne family arrive outside of their new house. Luke glanced at his new home, and lets out a deep breath. He takes a duffel bag out of the trunk and walked to the front door.

'Home sweet home,' he thought.

The twins watched the movers lifting and carrying their new furniture to their house.

"Kids, go to your new bedrooms, unpack, and get some sleep. Because tomorrow you're going to your new high school," said Daniel.

Luke goes upstairs to his new bedroom and observes for a bit.

'This is a good space for my desk and I could hang my posters here,' he thought.

Leia goes to her bedroom and admired it.

'I love my bedroom. I got a plenty of space to do my things,' she thought.

Half an hour later, after the new furniture was moved, Daniel and Natalie thanked the movers and paid the movers. The twins started unpacking their belongings before they change into their pajamas.

"Kids, time to go to sleep! Good night!" Natalie called.

"Good night, mom!" Luke replied.

Luke turned off the lights before he laid down on his bed.

'Tomorrow's gonna be the start of my old life. Guess it's time to finish what I started since I was here,' he thought as he closed his eyes.

And that's the end of the first chapter. So what do you guys think so far? Love it? Hate it? I thought about writing my first Riverdale fanfic since I started watching it in 2017 and that's what got me hooked to the series. I also posted my very first Degrassi SYOC. So make sure you check it out and send in your submissions. I will post the deadline some time later. So let me know what you guys think of this fanfic in the reviews section. Stay safe out there, and take care of your loved ones.
