Alright, now that I got to this part I have something funny that happened to me last week while I was on vacation, and none of the people I was with understood, but I know you guys will. We were at some place buying tickets for a tour of something, and I looked up at the lady behind the counter, looking at her name tag, which read Barbara R. she was an older lady probably in her early 70's. I chuckled to myself, but when I told my friends about it they didn't get it. Eh oh well. Alright we're off to Wisconsin, what fun do you think awaits the girls? Will Callie get along with Arizona's parents? Will Teddy decide to go back to LA with them? Guess you'll have to read on to find out...
Chapter 4
"Dammit" Arizona said "come on April, I need to get going"
"hold on I've almost got it" April said hitting print, as the printer came to life and started spitting out the pages Arizona was waiting on. "here" April said handing her the pages once she stapled them together.
"good" Arizona said shoving them in her bag "now I gotta go Callie is already downstairs waiting"
"have a safe trip" April smiled sadly
"thanks" Arizona said looking up, seeing the sad look on her face. "hey, I'll be back Wednesday"
"I know, but"
"but what?" Arizona asked "we hardly see each other on the weekends"
"I know but" April said walking closer wrapping her arms around Arizona "I'll miss you"
"I'll miss you too" Arizona laughed "now I gotta go, I'll text you when the plane lands"
"ok bye" April said sitting back down at her desk
"make sure you get that manuscript put in correctly" Arizona said right before the door shut behind her.
Xxxxxxx
"there you are" Callie said once Arizona reached the car
"sorry the damn printer jammed it took April a bit to figure it out"
"it's all good, we still got time" Callie said kissing her before she opened the door for her to climb in.
Xxxxxx
"just let me get changed and I'll be ready" Arizona said setting her bag down by the door, making a mental note to make sure she took it with her. Miranda gave her the ok to take some time off but she had to do some work while she was gone, plus it gave her something to do on the plane.
"cars here" Callie called a few minutes after Arizona got into the room to change
"damn" Arizona mumbled to herself, shaking her head as she pushed on her DC's grabbing a sweatshirt. Callie already had their bags in the car by the time she got downstairs.
"did you lock the door?"
"um" Arizona thought for a moment "yes" she smiled. The driver of the car poked his head around. "Derek" Arizona smiled
"hello" he smiled, moving to open the door for them to get in. "off to the airport"
"where we first met" Arizona giggled, he nodded, pulling away from the house.
Xxxxxxxxxx
"I can't wait to see Teddy" Arizona said once they took their seats on the plane
"I can't wait to meet her"
"she can't wait to meet you either, I wouldn't be surprised that she decides to come back with us"
"you think she will?"
"knowing my sister? Yes" Arizona smiled, as the plane pulled away from the gate. Callie reached for her hand as they both looked out the window. Once in the air, Arizona laid her head on Callie's shoulder. Smiling to herself Callie kissed the top of Arizona's head, softly whispering "I love you" as they both nodded off to sleep. Waking up to the pilot saying they were about to land, "damn that was a quick flight" Arizona said trying to stretch in the small seat.
"I don't think I've ever had one go by that quick" Callie mirroring Arizona's actions.
Xxxxxx
Following the directions to the baggage claim, Arizona couldn't help but smile, Teddy was meeting them there, no doubt with a sign or something to embarrass her. She wouldn't expect anything less out of her twin sister. Turning the corner Arizona was surprised to see her sitting on a bench looking down at her phone. Callie noticed her too "damn"
"what?" Arizona asked smiling, she hadn't ever shown her a picture of her sister, at that moment she wondered why
"you two look just alike"
"yeah" Arizona smiled "dad used to get us mixed up all the time, I'll get her to tell you a story, it's funnier when she tells it" she reached for Callie's hand, "come on, let's go see my sissy" as they got closer Teddy looked up straight at Callie, a smile on her face she jumped up, dropping her phone, and embraced Callie in a hug so tight she had trouble breathing "oh I forgot to mention my family is big on hugs" Arizona whispered laughing.
"sorry I'm just so excited to finally meet you" Teddy said letting her go
"more excited to see you than me" Arizona smiled
"no, I've never been more excited to see you in my life" she said wrapping her sister in a hug "my god I've missed you"
"I missed you too"
"let's go" Teddy said trying to pull Arizona towards the door.
"um, our bag" Arizona said stopping her, she turned around seeing Callie already had it in her hand, "now we can go"
Xxxxxxxxxxxxx
"yay you brought Ollie" Arizona said hugging her car
"he missed you" Teddy said tossing her the keys
"I missed him, it's great being driven everywhere, but I feel so lost without him" she said popping the trunk. So, Callie could put the bag in, as Teddy climbed in the back seat. Arizona made her way to the passenger door, opening it for Callie. "well now I feel like an ass, I've never done this for you"
"yes, you have" Arizona smiled placing a kiss on her cheek, then making her way to the driver's side, sliding in with a smile on her face. Rubbing the steering wheel "I've missed you"
"you're that in love with your car?" Callie laughed
"you'll find out just how weird she really is, being here" Teddy laughed from the back seat
"hope you still love me" Arizona smiled, as she backed out of the parking spot.
Xxxxxxxx
"the Mall of America?" Callie asked "guess I didn't realize we were that close"
"well technically we aren't, we live like 2 hours north of here"
"2 hours?" Callie sighed looking out the car window. It was sunny but cold, snow everywhere. Callie shivered, as Arizona reached over turning on Callie's seat warmer. "should have warned you about the cold"
"you've never been to Minnesota?" Teddy asked
"no, farthest east I've been is Colorado"
"hmm" Teddy said "this isn't even that cold, we had a cold snap last month where it didn't reach above 0 for a week"
"how can you people live like that? Last month I was wearing shorts"
"the California life" Arizona smiled, turning onto the freeway which would take them farther north. "Teds should we tell her it'll be even colder once we get home?"
"what?" Callie exclaimed
"we live on the shore of Lake Superior, the winds from the lake make it even colder" Teddy laughed
"great" Callie said looking down at what she was wearing, thinking it wasn't going to be warm enough
"you can relax, it's supposed to warm up tomorrow" Teddy smiled reaching forward touching Callie's shoulder
"how much warmer?"
"in the 30's"
"heat wave" Arizona laughed shaking her head turning the radio on "damn I missed this car" she stepped down on the gas, as they headed north.
xxxxxxxxx
"damn" Callie said looking out the window
"I know, it's a sight you will never get in LA"
"got that right"
"we'll come back in the summer, you'll love it, there's a trail the runs along the lake"
"it's awesome" Teddy sang from the back seat "Zo, do you remember that one time we"
"oh my god yes" Arizona laughed as she went into a story, from when they were younger. Laughing with her sister as they drove.
xxxxxxxxxx
"here we are" Arizona said pulling in the driveway "careful when you get out, it gets a little slick"
"slick?" Callie looked at her confused
"yeah the ice, dad tries to keep the driveway clear, but he never gets it all"
"hmm"
"I'll get your bag, mom said she'd have supper ready when we got home" Teddy said as she climbed out of the car.
"you still live here?" Callie asked
"for now, I'm between jobs at the moment"
"between jobs at the moment" Arizona laughed "she's had one job since we turned 16"
"yeah, yeah" Teddy said as they reached the front door "we're home" she called out
"in here honey" their mother called from the kitchen, Arizona smiled at hearing her mom's voice. Looking at Callie "you ready for this?"
"as ready as I'll ever be" Callie flashed a nervous smile
"it'll be ok" Arizona said reaching for her hand leading her to the kitchen "hi mom" she smiled
"oh honey, it's so good to see you" she said wiping her hands on a towel and pulling Arizona into a tight hug.
"this is Callie" Arizona smiled
"Callie" she smiled "it's so good to finally meet you" she said pulling her into a hug
"you too Mrs. Robbins" Callie smiled
"oh please, Mrs. Robbins is my mother in law dear, please, call me Barbara" she smiles
"um, ok"
"or Barb, whichever you prefer" she smiled looking Callie over. "so you're the one who stole Zo's heart"
"mom"
"well, since Joann you've been rather"
"mom" Teddy cut her off "it hasn't even been 2 years, I myself am surprised she's in a relationship this soon"
"yeah" Arizona said quietly "how long until supper?"
"oh, about an hour" Barbara said
"come on" Arizona said turning to Callie "I'll show you where we are sleeping"
xxxxxxxxxx
"this is my room" she paused outside the door taking a deep breath, as she opened it. Hoping the pictures of Joann, she had all over weren't going to scare Callie off. She went in setting the bags down on the bed.
"it's cute" Callie said closing the door and walking up behind her. Wrapping her arms around Arizona from behind. She felt Arizona let out the breath she was holding, she whispered "are you ok?"
"I will be" Arizona whispered "I just hate it when she brings her up like that"
"hey" Callie whispered turning Arizona around, looking into those blue orbs "I know it's hard" she reached up cupping her face "let me be your rock, lean on me, fall on me, whatever you need"
"I can't do that" Arizona said tears threatening to spill from her eyes
"Arizona, I love you, I'm not going anywhere" Callie reached up wiping the tears away with her thumb "I know coming back here wasn't an easy thing to do, and having me with was supposed to help, but I know it's probably making it harder"
"this is the room we shared through high school" Arizona sobbed
"I know" Callie pulled her close she looked around the room seeing all the pictures of Joann. "I'm not trying to replace her"
"I know you're not" Arizona sniffled "and no offense no one could replace her"
"baby, I don't want to replace her, I just want to love you"
"I'm broken"
"I know" Callie sighed
"you can't fix me"
"I know but let me love you while you fix yourself" Callie said looking in her eyes, wiping some more tears off her cheek. They heard Barbara call for dinner "come on, let's go eat, you've gotta be starving"
Arizona smiled "you're amazing you know that?"
"I try" Callie kissed her "come on" she nodded towards the door.
xxxxxxxxxxx
"damn" Arizona said falling onto the bed "it's been a long day"
"yes, it has" Callie said joining her. Arizona moved to lay her head on Callie's chest, she wrapped her arm around her kissing the top of her head. "your family is great"
"yes, they are" Arizona smiled
"what is your dad's name again?" Callie asked
"Daniel, but everyone calls him Colonel" Arizona said, hearing Callie chuckle then mumble "sorry"
"don't be" Arizona laughed "people do that all the time" she moved so she was hovering over Callie, looking in her eyes "thank you for coming home with me"
"there's no place I'd rather be" Callie reached up moving some hair out of Arizona's face.
"yes, there is" Arizona laughed "you could be on the beach back in LA"
"without you it wouldn't be fun" she smiled
"I love you"
"I love you too" Callie said pulling Arizona down into a kiss. Soft and slow at first, but quickly became heated. She heard Arizona moan, then pull back, her eyes were darker, as she reached down pulling her shirt over her head. Callie reached up unhooking her bra, stifling a moan as Arizona's breasts fell free. She heard Arizona whisper "make love to me" as their lips met. Callie rolled them over, so she was on top, breaking the kiss long enough to shed her shirt and bra. Arizona's hands went straight for Callie's breasts, moaning at the feeling of them in her hand. It didn't take Arizona long once Callie touched her, to get to that special place. She reached up pulling Callie down into a kiss. Flipping them over and taking Callie to the place she had just been. Then both falling into a deep slumber.
Xxxxxxxxx
Arizona woke up with a smile on her face, laying on Callie's chest, she closed her eyes loving the feeling of being held again. In Callie's arms she felt safe, a feeling she hadn't felt in so long. A feeling of security, snuggling in closer she tried hard to fall back to sleep, but her body was having none of it, as her bladder started screaming it needed to be released. Sighing, she climbed out of bed, in search of some clothes, she wasn't about to run around this house naked, like she did back home, where it was just the two of them. Finally finding a pair of basketball shorts, and a t-shirt, she quickly slid them on, and made her way to the bathroom.
Xxxxxx
Callie woke up when she heard the door shut, rolling over to look at the time. She groaned seeing it was just passed 7. She rolled back over, smiling when she realized why certain muscles hurt. She pulled the blanket up covering her head to try and get some more sleep. Hearing Arizona come back in, and crawl back into bed, wrapping her arms around her. "are you awake" she heard her whisper
"sadly" Callie groaned, as she pulled the blanket down
"well" Arizona said moving "good morning" she placed a soft kiss on her lips.
"morning" Callie smiled "how'd you sleep?"
"like a baby, I've always loved this bed"
"it's pretty cozy"
"it is" Arizona said laying her head on Callie's chest "so what do you want to do today?"
"what is there to do? In this small town, in February?"
"not much" Arizona laughed "but we'll find something"
"shit" Callie said as she moved "the bathroom is calling" Arizona smiled as she moved so Callie could get up "where's the bag?"
"by the dresser" Arizona said watching her dig through it once she found it "last door on the left"
"thanks" she smiled almost running, causing Arizona to laugh. When she came back she crawled back into bed. "I think your mom is making breakfast"
"probably, she's always doing something" Arizona smiled "especially now that she's retired"
"it's hard to believe our parents are that old"
"I know" Arizona smiled leaning in to give Callie a kiss, when there was a knock at the door "ugh" she smiled knowing it was Teddy "what" she called
"oh, good you're awake" Teddy said inviting herself into the room
"good thing we have clothes on" Arizona commented
"is it safe to sit here" Teddy asked going to sit on the edge of the bed
"shut up"
"I heard you two"
"no, you didn't" Arizona said feeling her face turn red, sending up a silent prayer that she didn't hear them
"you're right I didn't" she laughed "sissy what's that on your neck?"
"what?" Arizona said jumping off the bed and running to the mirror above her dresser. "you bitch get out" she said turning and tossing her brush at her sister.
"chill out"
"mom" Arizona yelled towards the door "tell Teddy to get out of my room"
"Theodora Irene leave your sister alone" Barbara yelled
"dude seriously, what the fuck" Teddy said
"old habits die hard" Arizona laughed
"you're such a spoiled brat" she said leaving the room slamming the door behind her
"sorry" Arizona said looking at Callie who was laughing "oh my god you two are hilarious"
"you think that was funny you should have seen us when we were teenagers"
"god I bet that was funny"
"made even better with Joann here" Arizona smiled; it was the first time she was able to mention her name without feeling a pain in her chest. Callie noticed the smile on her face and was about to say something until her stomach growled. "I'm sure my mom has breakfast ready let's go eat" she reached her hand out, Callie grabbed it as Arizona pulled her out of bed and into her arms. Kissing her "I love you"
"I love you"
xxxxx
"so, what's the plan for today?" Teddy asked once they were done cleaning up the breakfast dishes.
"I'm not sure" Arizona looked at Callie "not that there is much to do around here in February"
"oh, Leah Murphy is having a party tonight"
"Leah Murphy huh" Arizona let out a laugh
"hey, it's something to do, it's something for our almost 20-year high school reunion" she shrugged "I'm not entirely sure, I think she just wanted a reason to have a party"
"nice" Arizona laughed "what do you think" she asked looking at Callie
"I think a small-town party sounds amazing" Callie smiled
"alright then party it is" Arizona smiled "I haven't seen her since Joann's funeral" Callie didn't know how to react to that, so she just stayed silent. "don't let me drink too much" Arizona laughed. She hadn't had anything alcoholic to drink since the time they went out with April and Jenn.
"I won't, I remember what it was like last time" Callie smiled, as the thought of them having sex all over the room that night "wait on second thought" she winked
"no" Arizona smiled; she too had a flash back of that night. Shaking her head as her phone started vibrating in her pocket, pulling it out she smiled
"who is it?"
"April" she smiled, and started laughing after reading the text
"what's so funny" Callie asked, knowing April it could be about anything, Arizona showed her the text.
Omg when are you coming back? went out last night and I got so wasted, I haven't felt good all day ~A
Handing the phone back to Arizona, she typed out a reply
in a few days, I'm sure you'll be fine without me ~Z
Not soon enough… is Teddy coming with you? ~A
I think so, but I'm not sure ~Z Arizona looked up at her sister "she wants to know if you're coming with us"
"I was planning on it, not like I have anything holding me here" Teddy frowned
"you don't have a job?"
"no, not at the moment" she frowned again
"well the house has plenty of room, you're more than welcomed" Callie smiled.
"thanks" Teddy smiled as she got up and left the room
"hmm" Arizona said watching her sister leave the room, as her phone went off again.
I hope she does I'd love to meet her ~A
I'm sure she will, I'll see you in a few days ~Z
Sigh, fine see you then ~A
"looks like you've made a good friend out there" Barbara smiled
"yeah, too bad I'm her boss" Arizona chuckled
"that's not always a bad thing, as long as she doesn't expect special treatment" her mother smiled "I remember one time, I was working" she continued with a story about when she was a teenager working at a restaurant, Arizona quit listening halfway through. She hated when her mother started to ramble, but Callie seemed to enjoy the story. "mom I don't think I have anything to worry about. It's not that kind of job anyway"
"If you say so honey" Barbara smiled leaving the room
"she's so crazy" Arizona said rolling her eyes
"I happen to like it"
"you would" Arizona smiled "come on, let's get dressed, I want to run to the mall and it's a 20-minute drive"
"oh, road trip" Callie smiled
Xxxxxxx
"I like this car" Callie said looking around "it's pretty comfortable"
"I know" Arizona smiled "but I'm sure you won't be thinking the same when we are on our way back to LA"
"yeah probably not" Callie smiled reaching for her hand.
Xxxxxx
"wow" Callie said looking around, trying not to laugh "this is a mall?"
"you're not in LA anymore dear" Arizona laughed
"apparently" the mall consists of about 10 shops, it was no bigger than the food court at the mall that she had been shopping at since she was little.
"hey, when you're from a small town you have to use what is close" Arizona reached for her hand pulling her into a small boutique, that seemed to have a little of everything.
"good lord" Callie said holding up a coat "who would wear this?"
"my mom" Arizona laughed "how much is it?"
"damn, 50"
"yeah, I'll find her something in LA and send it back"
"what are you looking for?"
"my mom's birthday is coming, I just thought while I was home I'd get her something but not at these prices" Arizona smiled holding up a handbag, which in her mind, was way overpriced.
"well just get it, you may think it's overpriced, but she's your mom, and you make enough money" Callie smiled, looking around "we'll get her that coat over there" she pointed at the rack Arizona was just looking at, "it looks and feels warm, something I think she needs" Arizona looked at her, with a smile "I think I just fell more in love with you"
"me too" Callie smiled placing a kiss on her cheek "come on, I smelled mini doughnuts"
Xxxx
"so how do we dress for this party" Callie asked as they were in Arizona's room getting ready
"warmly" Arizona laughed "here wear this" she tossed her a hooded sweatshirt
"oh, how stylish" Callie held it out to look at it
"hey, it's from the high school"
"then I'll fit right in" she laughed pulling it over her head "how do I look"
"pretty fucking hot" Arizona smiled "come on let's go, I'm sure Teddy is already downstairs waiting"
Xxxxxxxxxxxx
"oh my god it's a throwback party" Arizona said hitting Teddy
"what, and ouch"
"you said it was"
"I said I wasn't sure what it was" Teddy smiled "besides you're still dressed for it, Callie is wearing a sweatshirt from high school, and you, well you look like you stepped out of 1998" she laughed
"fuck off" Arizona laughed reaching for Callie's hand
"I think this will be fun, oh look beer pong" Teddy said making her way to the table that had cups on it and people were tossing a ping pong ball trying to make it into one of the cups.
"and she's gone" Arizona laughed, following her
Xxxxxxxx
"Arizona" Leah said walking up to her "I wasn't expecting to see you here"
"yeah I was in town" Arizona smiled "oh this is my girlfriend Callie" she motioned for Callie to join her
"oh, hello" Leah said in a tone that had Arizona wondering what was going on "I'm Leah"
"the one throwing this party?"
"yes" she gave her a half smile
"I met Callie in LA" Arizona smiled
"that's nice" Callie must have saw right through her "it's a good party, I'm having a lot of fun, haven't been to one like this since, well ever" Leah just gave her a fake smile and walked away "what the fuck was that?"
"I don't know, she's never acted like that towards me before" Arizona said watching Leah walk away.
"eh, oh well, you need another drink?" Callie asked, she'd dealt with people who had that attitude all her life, so it didn't faze her.
"no, I'm good" Arizona said looking down at her drink which was empty, but she didn't want anymore. She was still puzzled by how Leah had acted.
"hey what's going on?" Teddy asked "you don't look like you're having fun"
"well Leah" Arizona started to say but Teddy cut her off "yeah, I saw, wonder what's up with that?"
"she was fine until I introduced her to Callie"
"hmm" Teddy said looking around the room where she saw Leah talking to some people "want me to find out?"
"no, I don't care, I think I'm going to find Callie and head out, this is all just" Arizona stopped when she saw the people Leah was talking to looking at her with a frown
Following her gaze, Teddy frowned and said "right, I'm ready when you are"
xxxxxxxxxxx
The ride home was quiet, leaving Callie to wonder what was happening. Looking over at Arizona, who seemed lost in her thoughts, she wasn't sure what to do. They hadn't had to deal with one of them sad before. Up until now, they've both been happy. Sighing she was about to say something when Teddy spoke up "when are we leaving?"
"I was thinking Sunday" Arizona said quietly
"good I can't wait to get out of this shit hole town"
"it's not that bad" Callie asked, thinking about some of the shit she's dealt with living in LA all her life.
"it's not that bad, but when people start acting like that it makes you not want to be here" Arizona sighed
"what do you think her problem was anyway?"
"I, I'm not sure, she was fine until I" Arizona stopped, as it hit her "shit, she's Joann's cousin"
"oh, that's right" Teddy said from the back seat moving so she was able to put her head through the middle of the seats. "it all makes sense now"
"yeah" Arizona looked over at Callie "Leah was the only one in her family that accepted her for who she was"
"so she's pissed off you found a new girlfriend?" Callie asked, still not totally understanding the situation, but this news gave her more insight.
Arizona sighed, as she pulled into the driveway "probably"
Xxxxxxxxxx
"hi girls how was the party?" Barbara asked once they walked through the door
"it was" Teddy said looking at Arizona who added "eventful"
"oh, that's good" she smiled turning her focus back to the tv. Arizona nodded for Callie to follow her upstairs. Once in her room, she sat down on the bed, sighing "I know I said I wanted to stay until Sunday, but what if we leave tomorrow?"
"I'm game for whatever" Callie smiled, she really wasn't sure what to do or say. It was painfully obvious Arizona was upset by what happened at the party. "do you think Teddy will"
"Teddy is ready to leave when" Arizona was cut off by her sister standing in the doorway "I'll get my things packed" Teddy nodded and disappeared. "as I was saying she's ready when I'm ready"
"I see that" Callie smiled.
"come on, I'm tired" Arizona said as she started undressing for bed.
Xxxxxxxx
"have a safe trip girls, let me know when you get there" Barbara said hugging each of them. Once she got to Callie, she paused with her in her arms. "now I want you to know you're always welcomed here"
"thank you, Mrs. Robbins," Callie smiled as she embraced her.
"bye mom" Arizona said getting into the car. "you guys ready?"
"yes, let's get the hell out of this shit hole town" Teddy said excitedly from the back seat.
"alright" Arizona laughed looking over at Callie who smiled shaking her head.
Again I couldn't think of a name so I used Leah. No one likes her anyway right? lol I have a few more chapters all ready to go, I honestly don't remember what happens or if this is finished, but I'm glad you all are enjoying it. Thank you again for all the reviews.
