Izuku Midoriya hated how fate always seemed to toy with his life. Not only was he quirkless, not only was he bullied and beaten for it, teachers ignoring his cries and calls for help, but he was about to die for the second time this month.
The first time he almost died was when the sludge villain attacked. He almost suffocated while the sewer water was trying to enter his body and take control over it. Luckily he was saved by Allmight. After being rescued by him, he clung on to his pants (by accident of course) and forced him to land on a roof of a building.
When I was about to ask my question he suddenly de-transformed, shocking me quite a bit. So I inquired about it and got some details about his situation. He was injured by a villain a couple years ago and that he was slowly losing the ability to use his quirk.
Once I finally got the chance to ask my stupid question, he didn't even hesitate to shoot it down. He essentially told me I would be useless on the field and that I should give up on my dreams and try for something possible. After that was said he simply walked away like nothing ever happened.
The second time I was close to death was currently happening right now. He was running away from someone who he thought to be a yakuza. Now, you may be asking why he was doing such a thing and why he had a scarred child in his arms but it was simple. He needed to save her. When his mom took him out to one of his favorite restaurants, on the way back home he ran into her. Her name was Eri and she was trying to hide and run from some yakuza member, Overhaul if he heard the white haired girl correctly.
Luckily, overhaul didn't notice him secretly hid eri behind a trash can in an alley after telling her what to do when he leads overhaul out the alley. The plan seemed perfect, leave eri with his mother, run into the crowded city and lose overhaul. There was one fatal flaw he overlooked though, the alley was a dead end. He found this out after dropping Eri off and taking a turn before he realized his fatal error, an error that would cost him gravely.
As he was looking around for a way out of the situation, he heard a cold voice filled with malice and rage. "Kid … I'm only going to ask you this once, give m-". He stopped what he was going to say after he noticed that he was only holding a bundle of cloth, a bundle missing the horned child.
" WHERE IS SHE BRAT!" Yelled overhaul once he noticed that the kid didn't have her in his arms anymore. Izuku visibly flinched at the bird masked person but decided the best way for Eri to find his mom was to stall overhaul so he did the best thing he could think of. Insult him. " Why are you asking pedo, what is she to you?"
While the quirkless lunatic was sealing his fate in the alley, Eri managed to find his mom quickly,as she was the only other green haired person on the street luckily. As she approached Inko she asked in a shaky voice to be sure." Are y-you the g-g-green haired b-boy's mommy?" While the question first caught Inko off guard she quickly recomposed herself and fired off rapid fire replies, "Yes you know Izuku- where is he- how do you know him?"
Once she noticed she was starting to frighten the little girl she stopped and recomposed herself, "Ok sweetie, what's your name and why are you wearing dirty bandages and rags."
As soon as the words left the woman's mouth Eri started to tear up a bit making her realize she somehow asked the wrong things. To try and comfort her she quickly enveloped the girl in a hug to calm her down. Before she could apologize and ask about Izuku she was cut off by the little girl saying something that broke her heart.
"Why, w-why do you and him care so much? I'm just a curse." Was the distraught and crying girl's reaction. She just grabbed the green haired mother and pulled her in closer, trying to make up for her loss of affectionate contact.
Inko who was feeling nothing but sadness for the little girl just tightened her embrace of the little girl momentarily forgetting about her son in order to comfort the trembling child. Izuku could wait till just after this right?
I was going to die. There was no way I could win. He had a strong quirk I didn't; He was fit and I wasn't; He was stronger and I wasn't. I could think of all the advantages the bird masked villain had over me. With a single touch he could probably kill me. Before the spikes launched at me I was the ground were he touched get destroyed before reforming into the spikes. One of them already took a big part of the flesh off my right arm.
Izuku was brought out of his planning when he heard the man yell once again as he sent a new wave of spike at him. The only problem with that was that there was double the amount of spikes as before. With some luck he managed to beneath a couple longer ones and barely move to his right to avoid another spike impaling him before his luck ran out. A spike that he missed near the ground shot through his right leg in the middle of his shin.
The second the concrete spike pierced his shin, his eyes blurred from his unshed tears as he tried to hold them back. Immediately after he got hit in the stomach and through his left shoulder. The pain was immeasurable for him. Everything hurt so much.
He couldn't move his arms, only one of his legs were operable but when he tried to move it, his stomach flared up making him gag only to throw up nothing but blood. As he was struggling to stay awake and not pass out from pain, Chisaki was moving forward towards the half dead teen.
"You know, I would've let you go if you gave me the cursed girl. You still would be alive. As for that curse, she would be getting more punishment." His words drew Midoriya's attention towards him. As soon as he got face to face with the boy, Izuku headbutted the man on the bridge of his nose just above his plague mask. Chisaki stumbled back with a yell of pain before bringing his hand to his noose to fix the damage done.
"I was going to just let you die with some final words but now, you're going to be receiving some of Eri's punishment." The malice in his words managed to make Izuku think clearer and send shivers down his spine.
This was true pain. Nothing he has ever felt compared to this pain. Bakugo's explosions felt like hot water to this. Everyone's beats felt like pats on the back compared to this. He could feel every fiber of his being getting torn apart, every single part of him getting ripped up, then nothing. After a couple seconds he can feel his body again. The holes put through him by the spikes still there.
"The pain you experienced just now is going to be just a fraction of hers. The best part about all of this is that it is all your fault. Now anyone else you've gotten involved in this will die." As soon as those words left the villain's mouth, Izuku seemed to rejuvenate with life and try to escape his stone prison. The only thing he could do was struggle while he watched the back on the man he wanted nothing more than to stop.
As the man got further and further away before eventually walking around the corner and out of sight, Izuku fought harder and harder and harder regardless of the amount of blood he lost and the pain hes in.
"Please don't hurt them, not Eri or my Mom, she's all I got… SHE'S ALL I GOT." With one final boost of motivation he managed to break the stone pillar holding him up by his shoulder by chopping it with his previously imobile right arm. With the spike broken, bits and peices falling and crumbling breaking other spikes and setting him free he got on his way to save his family.
He was barely crawling let alone staying alive. But he forced himself to move, ignoring the pain, and the dizziness from all the blood he's lost now pouring out of the empty holes and grazes he gained from the spikes. That's when he saw it, a screen that appeared to be from a video game.
